The cashier was very rude and mean. I was going in to paid for my gas with my credit card and told him it was in 1 and he said you can go to 3 or something. He said " do you speak English? Understand what I'm saying, back up to three it is working." Tell you guys none of the machine was working and he need to reboot it and it take times but I got to go to work anyways and can't wait. this chevron has a few lanes to pump gas. the small food mart in the center has coffee, beers, snacks, convenience items, smokes, beverages, etc. there's only one cashier. area is very small. not easy to social distance. brew: boyd coffee (1) available till it ran out -left thermos sputtered empty (good morning). filled up with right thermos (gorge, 100% colombian) *coffee tasted bitter. 2.5 stars not good. self service.... no parking area seen. read more

I like checking in my this sickly little palm tree here. I'm rooting for this underdog palm tree - it needs all the love and support it can get. As I pump gas I look at it lovingly and talk to it and pray it gets well again and grows up big and strong. I do like this Chevron - its near the auto parts store and I always find myself in auto parts stores wandering around for something. I always pick a pump that faces the minimart in the center. I hear that is a little trick - credit card skim machines are typically on the perimeter not in clear view from the gas station attendants. Other reasons I like Chevron: they accept credit cards... Arco doesn't. For security purposes I'm very careful with my debit card - I would rather have a middle man involved called a credit card company between some gas station and my bank accounts. Furthermore, they don't charge extra per gallon for use of said credit card. The last and most important reason I like Chevron (besides checking up on my little palm tree) is the fuel quality of course. I trust Techron to keep all my engine parts clean - and maybe you should consider doing the same. Your car takes care of you - its time you take care of it. Me and family been coming here for years, they always are so nice and helpful .. my dad used to come here every morning before work and became friends with them.. sadly my fathers health has decreased and he no longer is able to come in but they still check in on him and always ask how everyone is doing. Granted you get gas here and if you use a card you'll be fine because you don't actually have to have a conversation with the people inside. Last time I was here there was an issue with the pump and instead of helping me and this elderly woman the guy locked himself inside the store YES THE CLERK locked himself inside. Second incident I asked a question and he quickly said no without me fully asking my question. Third incident, I seen a car back into another car and he just took off.... the amount of issues here are crazy. However, if you don't have to talk to the rude ass clerk inside you'll be fine, get your gas and go cause they're not going to help you if there is an issue. read more

My sister habitually frequented this Chevron Food Mart to purchase lucky Lotto tickets. No longer. The last time she went there, four surly teens gathered by the cash register. One of them made a disrespectful joke at her expense. The cashier, clearly within earshot, neither did nor said anything. I would give zero stars if I could. Even if you buy something they don't let you use the bathroom. Very unprofessional. Very rude staff. It's illegal to not let a customer use the bathroom, even if they don't purchase anything. My son has kidney issues and he told him no. I let that slide since very few people have compassion these days. Then my other son recently had to go badly so we stopped here and sure enough he told him no as well. Disgusting. Their bathrooms are too good for Americans I guess. I bet if the customer was their family member the bathroom wouldn't be "locked" or "no one uses after 9"...I will never spend another dime at this place and I am telling all my peeps not to stop here either. My wife's credit card was stolen and used at this Chevron (then Safeway across the street). I went to this Chevron and asked the attendant if I could search the bins for her purse (thinking the douche bag thief may have thrown it away here). He looked at me like I was crazy as he didn't understand a word I said and I just went about my business looking in bins for the purse (I didn't find it). Later, a sheriff's deputy told me that the Chevron didn't have cameras trained on the pumps so they couldn't get a read on what kind of car the crook was driving. In this age of big brother surveillance and high gas prices, how on earth can you not have cameras on the pumps? read more

This is the only gas station i WILL go to! The owner and his staff are wonderful and always wear smiles on their faces! That alone says allot about a business! I am a business woman myself and I know from experience that walking into a business and being acknowledged is huge for me. I have been into business's where they do not acknowledge you and that to me is bad business. Well that's not the case here! Going into chevron you always feel welcome and they always go above and beyond to help you with what you need! To be honest I'm not one to write a review about a gas station but I do believe that all you hear about in this day of age, is the bad when the good needs to be recognized just as much! So if you're in Castro Valley cruising down the Boulevard and need gas or an ice cold soda or maybe a little bag of chips this is the place to! They only get 1 star because I can't give no stars. Never stop here, the people who work here are rude, disrespectful and have no knowledge about anything. I used 8 of my Safeway gas points (80 cents off per gallon which is allowed if you're a fast forward member) and pumped 85 cents of gas and then the pump stops on it's own. I ask the attendant for help and he can not get the pump to work. He told me I had to pay again and I informed him of my 80 cents off a gallon I had used which were just wasted away in that transaction. He told me I was wrong that there was no way I would have been allowed to use more than 20 cents off a gallon. I told him I did and I'd done it before. He continued to tell me I was mistaken, that I misunderstood, that I misread and I was wrong. The way he spoke to me was very rude, disrespectful and unnecessary. I then printed out my receipt and showed him that I did use 80 cents off a gallon. It took me a very very long frustrating amount of time to try to explain to him that my gas points were wasted on that transaction of 85 cents and they won't be available if I try to pay for gas again in another new transaction. He then told me we could go inside and he would ring me up at the counter and the rewards would be available. So I go inside and as I start to pay again I enter my Safeway rewards number and the attendant says "Oh...well you don't have any gas rewards". He was about to charge me full price and not fix the problem. I had to stop him and I explained again that it was not my fault their pump stopped and he answers "All we do is enter numbers into the computer". I told him I was gonna call Safeway and I asked him to write down his name. He wouldn't give me his name, he says "You're at Chevron" and writes that down instead. I said I knew that already I want your name. He gives me the address. I asked again for his name. He refused. I saw he had a name tag so wrote it down myself and left.
