Going to Grocery Outlet can be like going on a treasure hunt. You never know what special item you may find. The produce section is well stocked and kept clean. You feel like the fruit and vegetables are fresh. The prices are comparable, if not a little lower than other grocery stores. The shelves are well stocked. They have most basic pantry items. They have cereals and ice cream which you don't find in other grocery stores. They have a little library outside the store which the owners keep stocked. They support the local library book sales. Go see it for yourself. I am sure you will find what you need.

Thank you for supporting the search-and-rescue effort in Pleasanton today

"Man Likes Deals, Shoplifts 99c Item" "Yes, your honor, I admit I stole that item, but it wasn't my fault!" Here's the rest of the story: As a loyal subscriber to the "Tightwad Gazette," I like a good bargain. I met the owner recently, and I decided to check out the bargains. This new store is big, bright, and filled with a huge stash of deals. The first thing I noticed was the gardening items out front--especially the berry plants. I don't have any more room in my garden, so I proceeded inside, where I made my way through the store, purchasing a few items along the way. The best deal I found was a big package of coffee K-Cups, which were cheaper than even Walmart. (I did not want my wife to be biased against a cut-rate store, so I told her they were mislabeled, and actually came from Nordstrom's.) Anyway, I found several other items that were good deals, including seafood, breakfast bars, and dog food. I did not want my dog to be biased against cut-rate dog food, so I told her it was mislabeled, and actually came from Nordstrom's. I then made my way to the friendly cashier, waiting to check me out. There was absolutely zero waiting in line. Attention Walmart shoppers: Please note the difference. I was pretty sure I saved some serious cash today. It's such a good feeling when you get a bargain. After paying for everything, I later discovered I had accidentally left a small item in the bottom of the grocery cart. "Oh no, I have become a shoplifter!" I cried. "What will become of me?" Yes, yes, I was truly sorry, but not sorry enough to go back in the store to pay them 99c. It was just too hot to bother. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Next time I visit I'll pay you $0.99 extra. By the way, here's the reason I visited this store in the first place. The owner was gracious enough to supply items for searchers looking for the missing runner at Pleasanton Ridge. Any businessman who goes out of his way to support the community with such generosity deserves our support. But don't do what I did and steal things from him.

    Cute garden items!

A 5 star grocery store review?! Oh yeah! Let me chime in with the other reviews... 1st- Great location 2nd-Helpful staff 3rd-Good prices As one other yelper mentioned it is waaaaay better than the previous Dublin GO, and I liked that store! Nice layout! The meat section is large and very well organized. Prices reasonable. Soaps, vitamins and lotions all nicely displayed and priced for budgets. Frozen section had a lot of name brand goods. Bakery? Where they keep the bread products anyway was nicely done as was the produce department. Now for the best part of the store... That wine department... Kudos! Job well done!

    Storefront. Lotsa parking in lot.

Grocery Outlet takes over the space vacated by New Leaf Community Market. it will be great for the community nearby. no more driving down the hill to go shopping. of course the wines will be the biggest sellers. G.O. isn't a full service grocery. it specializes in sourcing manufacturers' oversupply. another description would be items that didn't sell well, had printing errors, etc. i look for chips, snacks at a reduced price. there's a tortilla chip that's always there. sometimes for .99 cents. why paid $3.99? nice to try something new without paying full price. of course some items will taste blah. high end items that doesn't sell well may end up here. it's worth the time to browse the aisles for bargains.

was charged $6.99 for a $5.99 product and then given a "25% off deal"

Very convenient location, generally great prices. I will say I come here enough that I've been here on all sorts of days and times. The staff is typically friendly. My only negative feelings toward this location are their pricing. There are a couple instances where I feel like they don't actually have good deals, and in the case today I finally felt compelled to write a review. My kids each picked out festive Thanksgiving decor. We added them to the cart and checked out not thinking anything of it. Then as we were walking out the door, I noticed the price stickers were scribbled out. Upon closer inspection it looked like they were selling for $5.99 -- but when I checked my receipt I was charged $6.99 for each, but got a "25% off seasonal" deal... only it's not really a "DEAL" if they are charging more than what it was priced for.

3.5 stars IMO. I've been to this Grocery Outlet a few times. It is much cleaner and organized compared to the Livermore location. I wish there was a store closer to San Ramon because this store is in "deep" Pleasanton. A few items that I checked had expiration dates all the way back to February including ice cream. I know certain items are best buy dates; but, a lot were perishable items that were expired over a month. I did find some really good deals and with prices increasing rapidly; it was nice to get a few deals. They have a large wine section; but, I'm not a wine person unless it is Moscato. Next time I'll try to browse their wine section to see their Moscato selection. The cashiers were not very friendly. There was one cashier open and about 5 of us in line. I was the next person (my items were still in the cart) and the male employee called the people behind me. That was slightly irritating because he looked right at me.

I drove to Pleasanton store and presented the receipt. The gentleman who I first spoke to entertained me and has no issues with it. Then came this female questioning why I went to the Pleasanton store instead of the Livermore store in a not so friendly / rude way. She told me that they will allow it for that time but she made sure I have been told that I should go to Livermore instead of Pleasanton if I buy the balloons from Livermore. I am for following policies, but when all three stores said the same info to my wife and only this person is the only one saying otherwise, then who is lying? This is very bad customer service for sure!

I walked in a little after 8 AM and most of the Christmas decorations were on sale for 50% off. Buying gift bags that I can use next year felt like I'm robbing the store with such great deals. I made everything really easy to find, and although I came in for one thing and filled my basket up until it was overflowing, the cashier didn't seem to mind also when she was filling up balloons in the store, she noticed that I was unpacking my fully loaded basket and she seamlessly walked over to help me out. She was very kind and friendly and helped me stuff as much as I could in the bag that I brought so that I didn't have to go buy another plastic bag and it worked. I was with my mom (who also has a review on here) and we encountered an old white worker who is blatantly racist. He used weaponized incompetence to get out of any work that involved helping anyone who wasn't white, saying "I don't do that," "whoever helped you first has to do that." The only other worker there was an old Indian lady who we've encountered in past visits just fine. She already had a line which we were last to join before she ran off to help an Asian lady who just bought balloons. This Asian customer had approached him first to ask for the balloons to be filled but he was apparently too busy just standing by the carts, scrolling on his phone. My mom and I debated leaving because while the Indian lady was helping the customer, he made no effort to acknowledge or step in to help us. It wasn't until a couple, the girl being white, also joined the line so the white man finally came to his register and instead of saying he could help us directly, just said "I can help who's next" which the couple of course rushed over. At that point, our patience was basically gone but we still picked up all our stuff and put it on his belt. After helping the couple, he just walked away?? My mom was over all of this and asked him if he was just leaving while we obviously needed help to which he again excuses that he's busy pretending to move stuff on a random shelf. While I have it, not everyone needs retail experience to know checking customers out should be main priority especially with us being put on hold for the longest now. We left with no purchase or interest to return with this racist working there and I doubt anything will be done. Feel sorry for the Indian lady that has to tolerate that deadweight, good luck ma'am !

But I could always overlook that because I love the backpacks and bags. However, I may have just shopped at this store for the last time last year. I'm finally getting around to writing this review, but I went there 10/28/24 and bought a Muttmover Luxe bag that was on final sale. Having also owned another Muttmover bag that has held up, I had confidence this one would as well... I was wrong. In about a month, with very little use, the mesh screen had ripped. No worries I thought. They have a limited lifetime warranty! So I went back to the store 1/1/25 and a less than friendly associate took my info for shipping to their repair team. Oh well, at least they helped me with a free repair, right? Wrong again. The care team claimed it was wear and tear or excessive abuse caused by my dog... This is a dog backpack! If it can't stand up to a roughly 7lb Yorkie, then what good is it?! The only option was to pay a repair fee almost equal to what I had paid for the backpack. I refused to do so because Timbuk2 clearly refused to stand by their product. It's unfortunate that this has soured me on Timbuk2. The previous version of this Muttmover was fantastic, and is clearly superior in quality. But they've lost me as a customer since they couldn't repair my bag under warranty. My dog has since crossed the rainbow bridge... It's too bad he couldn't enjoy the bag more while he was still around.
