My Arabian desert bagel
Falisha R.

Snappy's? More like crappy's! Customer service was bland, my coffee flavor was good but it was freezing cold, and not on purpose. The tables were dirty. It was hot as hell in there no ventilation. But let's get down to business... my bagel... I know I only asked for a plain bagel with cream cheese but holy moly it was dryer than Arabian desert. I'll post the photo. Not only that but she tried to just put cream cheese only on one side and then smash the two bagels together as if once I opened it back up I'm not going to see it lol. The place has potential. Make the coffee hot please, take that fridge that is in the front and move it to the back it's ugly, put a fan in there please!! It's January and I was sweating. And give the tables a wash here and there. Not sure how there's all these good reviews but someone needs to tell the truth around here.

I was excited to try this place as it's in my neighborhood and I've been looking for local places. I work in Pleasanton though and was cutting it close getting there before closing, but got there 20 minutes early and saw the lights were off and they had a closed sign up. I checked online and it said 4, it was now 3:41. I call and the lady told me they close at 4 and last order at 3:30. I was super grumpy as this was what I had planned for and honestly, was super hangry. That's on me. Then I see a lady come outside and up to my window. She asks if I called and I said yes and that her websites says they're open till 4. She invites me to come in because she is still there. I said, I didn't want to inconvenience her, she was obviously ready to leave. And my attitude at that point had turned crusty. She says she didn't mind, so I went in. She made me a turkey melt on a jalapeño bagel. Told me her name was April and she's had her business there for 16 years. I apologized as I left for being cranky and she said, it's ok, you're hungry! Lol She thanked me for giving her place a chance and I thanked her for making me food. I'll definitely be back. Make sure to be in by 3:30

Fast service. Nice lady! Just a bit warm inside. Runs the place on her own, but didn't mind the wait.

Iced vanilla latte

I love this place. Good service and yummy drinks! I usually get the iced vanilla latte and I love that its not overly sweet. I also enjoy the Mexican mocha

This is a very cute hole in the wall! Local place! They also support other local businesses by selling their items! I love all the unique items! The coffee is amazing! The owner is cute! I love the place and will definitely be back if I'm ever in the area. There is street parking, but there is also a few spots in the lot that are available. It is on the main road so you may see it or just miss it if you drive by too fast.

Cozy turtle themed cafe featuring live music around 1pm on a Saturday, the duo performing well-known tunes on the harmonica, resonator guitar, and shakers, as well as vocals. Just a few tables with seating inside but we found a couple open window seats to enjoy some standard beverages, hot tea and iced mocha made just right. I also got a breakfast sandwich with bacon, and it was made fresh and served hot, with lots of fluffy eggs and melted cheese between the soft and airy croissant, and the bacon cooked to a slight crisp with just a bit of fat to add enough flavor. Service was efficient and super friendly, we felt welcome the entire time we were there. A casual and carefree atmosphere surrounded by cute and quirky turtle decor, it certainly has a unique appeal for enjoying delicious treats.

I came here for the first time a week ago and so I'm so glad I did! The coffee was very aromatic and my breakfast croissant had a generous portion of fluffy eggs and cheese. You can also purchase artwork she has on the walls, trinkets, journals and more! April serves with such care, as if you a guest in her home. Thank you for making me feel at peace and I will be back!

Still awesome, still very small business run by one super woman, and now she expanded one of the best perks of going there, filling her journal of "what are you grateful for", which i fill me with warmth when i fill it. And now i can buy from her merchandise option, a new journal!

Cute little cafe where if your a local you probably have a relationship with the owner/employees based on what we saw while there. Lots of drink options and a few breakfast items on menu. The jalapeño bagel was tasty as was the Raspberry Mocha. My group also tried a chai latte that was a little heavy on the milk and a lavender matcha latte that was tasty but sounded like it wasn't a favorite for my matcha loving friend. Parking was a little confusing since I'm not familiar with the area but there are lots of public lots within 2 blocks if you aren't able to snag a street spot.

Dirty Chai

UPDATE- Just noticed the ice cubes aren't water they're more chai!!!!!! Crying I love this spot now. I got the dirty chai (no modifications) and it is so good!!! Super creamy and lots of layers to the taste. I also tried the turkey and cheese croissant. It was simple but delicious. A large drink and food item for less than $13 is a STEAL. The service is great the workers greet you and work super quick. The space itself is so cute to sit down and have a drink. If you choose "for here" they serve you in cute dishes.

The Castro Valley one is super tiny, no indoor seating and really only enough room for about 2-3 people to line up to order for the inside. It's a bit too tight in there for me. They do mostly Asian inspired pastries, mostly using croissant dough in all kinds of creative shapes and sizes. Even though many things don't fit my preference as I'm not big on savory pastries or ones that have meat in them, they do make some attractive and unique looking pastries. So I get it, why people line up for this. But I have tried several sweet type pastries and here are some notes. Custard Tart ($4/5*) Probably one of the best egg/custard tarts I've ever had. This is one of the simpler things in their display case. This is literally a flaky pastry and a well made custard filling. Most everything else in that display case is 2-3 times bigger and much more going on with fillings and decorations. I like simple pastries so this hit on my sensibilities big time. The custard was smooth and not too sweet, very Asian in sweetness. And the best part was the crust, it was so flaky, light and buttery. 10 times better than any egg tart I've had a Chinese or Portuguese bakery. Almond Danish ($7.50/3.5*) This is one of their more elaborate creations, even tho this is somewhat simpler than many other pastries they have. But this name doesn't really correlate with what I tasted, there is a lot more going on. The pastry part is in the shape of a muffin, but the texture is flaky like a croissant, maybe slightly more dense than a croissant. Then there may be a small amount of almond paste in the middle, but there were a lot more of this coffee cream. This was too big for me to eat in one sitting so I split it in half. It was decent but it definitely isn't an Almond Danish. Lol Strawberry Croffle ($5/5*) I love true Belgian/Liege waffles made with a yeasted dough but cooked til crisp in a cast iron waffle press. Not sure if this is Liege style but it carried a lot of the characteristics of one. Crisp from caramelized sugar being cooked in the exterior, nice chew in the center and garnished simply with a strawberry cream. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Cold Brew ($4.25/3.5*) I didn't love it, but it wasn't bad. It tasted better if drunk with one of their pastries. Alone I wouldn't do it again. But as a companion with a pastry, sure. I'll round to a fiver cuz service is usually pretty nice and efficient. And even tho 75% of the things here are too busy and complicated for me, the simple things I have tried, really schmacks. So a fandom has formed.

The ambiance is super cute, cozy, and welcoming, making it the perfect place to treat yourself or catch up with friends over something sweet. We tried a fantastic mix of treats, starting with the Strawberry Japanese Soufflé Cheesecake, which was amazingly light, pillowy, and had that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture without being overly sweet. The Oreo Crème Puff had a wonderful slight crisp on the outside with a deliciously rich, flavorful cream filling that hit every right note. To top it off,the Banana Pudding was delightfully creamy, comforting, and packed with classic flavor. To pair with our desserts, we ordered a regular cappuccino along with a passion fruit sparkler drink! Both drinks complemented the treats so well and made for a total refreshment alongside all the sweet bites. It's in a corner of a very cute gourmet food hall and had a good selection of goods left in mid-afternoon on a weekday. Service is also friendly and prompt. I had to get the kouign amann because I always get one wherever I can, and also picked up a plain croissant, currant scone, and panna cotta. The KA was decent; I would call this one a diet KA because they only put the sugar on one side so it was more like a brulee'd croissant. I also have to admit that, while this shaping is very attractive, the direction of the lamination makes eating this feel like shards in my mouth. However, flavor was excellent. The plain croissant is very plain. It's decent but I've had better. The scone and panna cotta, however, were delightful. Both had lovely soft textures and wonderful creamy flavors. The scone held up for two days and wasn't even a bit stale when I finally had it for breakfast. Highly recommend this tucked-away bakery in the Castro Valley!

I want to start off by saying that this is my first review for a non-gluten free place. I am being…read morere-tested for celiac disease and engaging in the "gluten challenge". Seven Hills Baking Co was my first stop as I haven't had sourdough since childhood. I got their classic sourdough loaf. Even though it wasn't warm anymore it was still amazing. It was quite hard to cut into with a serrated bread knife, which I'm not sure whether that's normal or abnormal for gluten sourdough. However, the inside was lovely and soft. Nice strong sour flavor, spongy dough that was almost moist (not at all dry). I want to note on the gluten free front that seven hills baking co offers a few items which they advertise to be gluten free. Though the ingredients may be gluten free, the items are baked in the same kitchen, the same oven, and then put side by side with the gluten in the display case. Furthermore I don't believe their ingredients are all certified gluten free. Therefore I do not recommend seven hills baking co for anybody with celiac disease. Do not buy your friend with a gluten allergy or celiac these items. There is most certainly cross contact.
