I came here for a family birthday dinner. It's located in greenhouse so there's plenty of parking around, even if it means just a tiny bit further away. The restaurant is really big and we sat at a table for 14 pretty comfortably. We were also here on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full. The service is your typical Chinese restaurant vibe where you leave a little bit emotionally abused after paying for overly priced menu items. We did the à la cart and easily spent up to $1500. Better off with the family plan meal but nothing was of interest to us except one or two dishes. It took forever to come out and I mean FOREVER to a point where we almost cancelled a few dishes and called it a night, but they kept saying it's being made. With as many people and as massive as the restaurant was, and the price tags, I was expecting a more efficient service. A couple of times we saw our dish being brought to the wrong table and the people going "oh we didn't order this." With all of that out of the way, I am giving them an average score of 3 starts because the food did bring them back up. It was actually really good. My favorite of all things we ordered was their sea bass with string beans. The sea bass was fried crispy, garnished salty and still soft inside. It paired really well with the string beans. We ordered a bunch of other things that I couldn't tell you what the name was in English and they were above average taste wise. Their complimentary dessert however, was mass produced and tasted like they added too much water to it. This was the only one I was disappointed in. I still say this place is extremely overpriced but for a family meal experience and if you ever want to impress a date, why not. read more

This is the restaurant of choice for my wife's family gatherings, and she has a pretty big family, so we're here quite a bit. To be honest, Fusion used to be terrible, and I used to absolutely hate coming here. Food was slow in coming, what came out was often cold, the dining room was loud, and service was impersonal, at best. On one visit, half the menu was unavailable, requested silverware was crooked, and numerous glasses, bowls, and plates were chipped or damaged. On another visit, I saw multiple families sneak out of the restaurant, walk to McDonald's across the plaza, and smuggle food back in to tide them over until their orders came. After a while, I wasn't alone in meeting the decree of, "come to Fusion on Saturday," with a groan. However, when HL Peninsula opened in Castro Valley and established itself as a threat to Fusion's business, it served as a wake-up call. Food immediately got better (from "below-average" to "know what to order and you'll be fine"), the speed of service improved, and food temperature became consistent and proper. It's not QUITE a "different restaurant" feel, and there are still some negatives. It's still loud and service could still be better (there have been times where chicken wings have taken over an hour to come out, which is a "should not occur"). However, at least I don't dread coming here anymore. read more

Toilet stall in the restroom smelled like piss even though it was "freshly" cleaned (toilet seat was up). They forgot our waters twice and finally gave it to us when we requested it a third time. They didn't have the giant clam noodles I marked, but didn't tell us until we asked about it. The congee came out at the beginning of our meal, and everyone knows that chinese donuts are supposed to go with congee, but our chinese donuts didn't arrive until the end of our meal. At some point, we were sitting there and waiting for the remaining few items. We asked to cancel because it was taking too long, and then they were like "it's coming, it's coming". I assume they left the items on the counter for awhile because the items were cold and soaked in oil by the time they arrived to our table. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed with the experience... but I will say that the stand out dish for me was their malay sponge cake-- soft, pillowy, and delicious. read more

My fave dim sum place!! Best to get there before or at opening to not wait for a table. We strolled in at 10AM on Memorial Day weekend and were seated immediately for our table of 15. Some tables get iPads to order, others paper menus to mark off and submit--not sure if there's a method to which table gets what. iPad ordering makes things really easy, especially if you decide to order more food. Food rolls out SUPER quickly if you get here around opening. I love this place for their flavorful, consistently delicious food. I originally came to Fusion Delight because of the purple interior. Seriously. The giant lotus chandeliers, the deep violet lighting, the old-school banquet hall atmosphere - it immediately reminded me of the large Cantonese restaurants that used to define family dining in the Bay Area years ago. But after eating here during a packed weekend dinner service, I realized the real attraction is not the decor. It is the operational consistency. The dining room was completely full, with a long line of people still waiting outside. Under that kind of pressure, many large Chinese restaurants start losing control somewhere: fried dishes soften, stir-fries lose wok hei, food arrives unevenly, service becomes rushed. Fusion Delight somehow keeps the system together. And what impressed me even more was that the staff never became impatient. Even with the restaurant running at full capacity, the servers stayed friendly, patient, and organized. No chaos, no attitude - just steady service under pressure. That is not easy in a restaurant this size. The Mongolian beef was the first thing that stood out. Instead of thin slices hidden under sauce, the beef here is cut unusually thick and long - some pieces nearly two inches. Thick-cut beef is risky because once overcooked it immediately turns tough, but here the meat stayed tender while still carrying proper wok sear and caramelization. That tells me the kitchen understands heat control and timing. The crispy pork intestines were even more impressive. These were clearly braised first, then fried before the final stir-fry. The outside kept its gelatin-rich texture while the inside still carried fat and aroma, but without the unpleasant odor that ruins this dish at weaker restaurants. Even people who normally avoid intestine dishes could probably eat this version comfortably. That level of cleaning and pre-processing matters. The braised lamb with skin was another old-school banquet dish done correctly. The lamb was soft without collapsing, while the skin still retained structure. More importantly, the prep work was meticulous -- no gamey smell, no rough trimming, no shortcuts. The sea cucumber and pork tendon dish also showed strong banquet-kitchen fundamentals. The pork tendon had clearly been oil-expanded beforehand, giving it that proper soft and elastic texture instead of rubbery chewiness. The sea cucumber still retained bite and structure. The Singapore-style rice noodles and scallop egg white fried rice were textbook Cantonese banquet staples. The rice noodles stayed dry and separated while still carrying wok aroma and oil fragrance. The scallop egg white fried rice looked simple, but every grain remained distinct and lightly coated without clumping together. That level of consistency under volume is difficult. Even the red bean dessert soup at the end was handled carefully. The red beans still held their shape instead of dissolving into paste, while the sago remained fully intact and translucent. Most restaurants stop caring once dessert leaves the kitchen. Fusion Delight clearly does not. And honestly, that may be the best way to describe this restaurant overall. Fusion Delight is not trying to be trendy. It is not trying to become minimalist fine dining. It is not trying to be social-media bait. This is a high-volume Chinese banquet restaurant operating with old-school Cantonese production discipline. Hot food arrives hot. Fried dishes stay crisp. Wok hei survives peak hours. Plating still looks intentional during a packed dinner service. That kind of consistency is harder than people think. A friend invited us to Dim Sum at Fusion Delight. They open at 11am and we arrived at 10:40, way too early. We sat in the van and chatted for a bit until 5 minutes before scheduled opening. They were already open for guests, so we were able to enter as soon as we walked across the parking lot. As we entered, we were greeted and asked how many in our group and what type of tea would we like. There were 3 of us and we were guided to a table in the middle of the restaurant. There was an electronic ordering pad on the table, so we passed it around and selected some of our favorite dishes. We later saw other tables using paper ordering sheets which I think I would have preferred. What'd we order? Plenty! Pea Sprouts with Fungus - 3 - Not one of my favorites but it appeared to be okay. Rice Noodle Rolls in XO Sauce x 2 - 5 - Yes, we got two orders! Tons of flavor; tender noodles; great chew. Salt & Pepper Tofu - 3 - Good tofu; not so much salt nor pepper. Pan Fried Country Style Lotus Root with Minced Fish - 3 - first time that I've had Lotus Root "sandwiches" Rice Noodle Roll (Beef) - 4 - If the sweet soy had been sweeter, it could have been a 5. Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce - 3 - met but did not exceed the standard and I am a Chicken Feet FREAK! Pork Dumpling with Peanuts - 4 - Was Decent Dried Scallop & Pea Sprout Dumplings - 3 - There's Dried Scallop in here? Pan Fried Green Peppers - 5 - These non-spicy peppers were stuffed with shrimp paste and then doused in black bean sauce. Yumm! Siu Mai w/ Shrimp - 5 - Nice and meaty. Sugar Donuts - 4 - On point! Can't believe I haven't left a review for FD since I come here pretty regularly! Even on weekdays the parking is tough cos it's so busy. But luckily the mall lot is big so you might just have to walk a bit. The wait is the most challenging thing here. Weekends are near impossible. Even week day lunches are tough. And you gotta book them way out for Chinese new year! Food is always very good and service is very efficient. The sea bass is a must here, I also like all their noodle dishes. Such a yummy time! The staff is quite attentive. Our empty dishes were taken away almost instantly and your hot water pot was never empty for long. Our party of 5 was able to snag a tallness at opening and place our order in early. Everything came out hot and delicious. My favorites being the shrimp dumplings. The filling is quite large and the dumpling skin is quite sturdy. You're able to grab one without it falling out or ripping. The wrapped is also isn't over rubbery, it was a happy surprise to find a yummy texture! Another hit was the cha sui gok, flaky pastry dough with a savory bbq pork filling. My family and I hadn't had this place since 2017. Since then, they have undergone a huge remodel and the place is far brighter and their menus are upgraded. Meanwhile, it was my partner and his family's first time trying this restaurant. Service was quite rough for a Monday dinner. The restaurant was 1/3rd filled but they took a while to check in with us and take our orders. It was tough to get the attention of a server and after someone helped us, he called for someone else. When the second person came, I told her I was ready to order and then there was another wait for the third person who would finally take our order. I had already written out the 6 dishes we were planning to order for the group and they seemed to be missing several veggies, so all the meat dishes seemed to only be cooked with string beans as that was all they had. That eliminated 3 of the dishes I wanted to order. Pea sprouts 5/5, perfectly stir fried. So simple, yet so delicious steamed chicken with black fungus 4/5 - Delicious but it did not come with black fungus... they didn't tell us that and so the dish arrived with just meat... confused as to why we weren't informed and it was still the same price when it's missing a vital part of the dish! stir fried green beans with black cod 5/5 - very well made! the fish was so deep fried beef chow fun 5/5 - well made and standard chef fried rice - also well made and standard Outside of them missing several vegetables and ingredients in their dishes and the slow service; the food and way it's cooked has certainly skyrocketed in quality! read more

Came back another year and it's still the same quality, yet always a long wait during lunchtime especially on weekdays. It's so busy you have to get a number and wait until your number is called. The hosts are communicative with servers on which tea to serve for each table once we're seated. We ordered Siu Mai, Beef Balls, Pork and Peanuts Dumpling, Pumpkin Sponge Cake, Fried Shrimp Dumplings (Spicy), and Pan-fried rice noodle w/ beef and bitter melon. The sponge cake had less pumpkin filling, so it was meh. The rice noodle was the most delicious one, yet oily. Fried shrimp dumplings took longer to arrive, yet were moderately spicy due to the spices. I started sweating after one bite while my mom ate like nothing happened lol. When I went home with the leftovers, my habit of checking the filling inside the fried dumpling was a blessing because I found a silver metal strand (approximately 1 cm long) inside the shrimp. Too bad I didn't take a picture. It would've been dangerous for elderly people and children to consume. So please check your food before eating. There are a lot of smokers outside that you can smell through the entrance every time the door is opened. They should be called the Chainsmokers Area. Also, expect to hear loud conversations in Cantonese, so not good for first dates, but good for weddings and family gatherings. The space is beautiful inside - probably the nicest Chinese restaurant I've seen in the bay. Lots of seating inside too but I heard there's always a wait on weekends. If you don't want to wait, come here during a weekday lunch. For us 3 girls we got a seat at the table immediately near the front, a little before noon time on a random weekday. You place your order on a piece of paper with pencil. Imo the dim sum dishes were above average. I heard great things about their fried rice so I placed an order. This is one of my favorite dim sum spots because the food is consistently delicious, especially the siu mai--it's a must-try! The service is fast and friendly, which makes the experience even better. There is also plenty of parking, which is a big plus. The restaurant is spacious, with beautiful purple lighting that really catches the eye. Walk in and it's a bustling mini chinatown, full of Chinese peeps - which is a great thing for a dim sum restaurant. That means it must be good. We get sat down in this huge expanse of a dining hall. Order up through an ipad. How bay area. Of course we get all the classics. One by one, I take some bites and man. They're just amazing morsels of dim sum good ness. The classic bbq pork bun is my baseline. And it was fresh and filled with pork. The bread itself was nice, although it might have been oversteamed because some of it had become like a pull apart bread. The shu mai was huge and plump. And tasted equally excellent. I had many others and they were all lovely. The sweet egg buns were amazing, some of the best i've had. The miss was this deep fried flying pancake. It tasted so weird and left a bad oily taste in my mouth. It seemed really popular, but not for me. I'll be back. read more

I was lucky enough to be brought here to test out Fusion Delight's dim sum.. Here, you will find the typical & very traditional dim sum without the rolling carts and ladies shouting out "Har Gow!!" "Siu Mai!!!" Orders were made via paper menu and the dishes steadily came rolling in. I would classify the whole ambiance and feel of Fusion Delight as upscale, fancy. With that said, I will agree with the many reviews regarding the super loud environment that would easily get to sensitive patrons. Forks clanking against plates, multiple conversations going on- all consisting of yelling, & combining that with shouting out requests to the staff. Whew, you almost feel like you leave here a little deaf. Lmao! Food is amazing and the presentation is nice. My favorite things to order [simply for the beautiful photos] are the piggy steamed baos, the swan fried durian puffs, & the duck/bunny puddings. 4 stars!
