    01/05/26 - Sugar Donuts

A friend invited us to Dim Sum at Fusion Delight. They open at 11am and we arrived at 10:40, way too early. We sat in the van and chatted for a bit until 5 minutes before scheduled opening. They were already open for guests, so we were able to enter as soon as we walked across the parking lot. As we entered, we were greeted and asked how many in our group and what type of tea would we like. There were 3 of us and we were guided to a table in the middle of the restaurant. There was an electronic ordering pad on the table, so we passed it around and selected some of our favorite dishes. We later saw other tables using paper ordering sheets which I think I would have preferred. What'd we order? Plenty! Pea Sprouts with Fungus - 3 - Not one of my favorites but it appeared to be okay. Rice Noodle Rolls in XO Sauce x 2 - 5 - Yes, we got two orders! Tons of flavor; tender noodles; great chew. Salt & Pepper Tofu - 3 - Good tofu; not so much salt nor pepper. Pan Fried Country Style Lotus Root with Minced Fish - 3 - first time that I've had Lotus Root "sandwiches" Rice Noodle Roll (Beef) - 4 - If the sweet soy had been sweeter, it could have been a 5. Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce - 3 - met but did not exceed the standard and I am a Chicken Feet FREAK! Pork Dumpling with Peanuts - 4 - Was Decent Dried Scallop & Pea Sprout Dumplings - 3 - There's Dried Scallop in here? Pan Fried Green Peppers - 5 - These non-spicy peppers were stuffed with shrimp paste and then doused in black bean sauce. Yumm! Siu Mai w/ Shrimp - 5 - Nice and meaty. Sugar Donuts - 4 - On point! There were a couple of items that we ate before I remembered to take pictures of them. Ooops! Would I go again? Yes.

Can't believe I haven't left a review for FD since I come here pretty regularly! Even on weekdays the parking is tough cos it's so busy. But luckily the mall lot is big so you might just have to walk a bit. The wait is the most challenging thing here. Weekends are near impossible. Even week day lunches are tough. And you gotta book them way out for Chinese new year! Food is always very good and service is very efficient. The sea bass is a must here, I also like all their noodle dishes. And for dim sum, they are really one of the best in SL and surrounding areas. Can't go wrong. Inside always looks nice and clean. Great vibe for big family dinners.

Such a yummy time! The staff is quite attentive. Our empty dishes were taken away almost instantly and your hot water pot was never empty for long. Our party of 5 was able to snag a tallness at opening and place our order in early. Everything came out hot and delicious. My favorites being the shrimp dumplings. The filling is quite large and the dumpling skin is quite sturdy. You're able to grab one without it falling out or ripping. The wrapped is also isn't over rubbery, it was a happy surprise to find a yummy texture! Another hit was the cha sui gok, flaky pastry dough with a savory bbq pork filling. Normally my favorite at yum cha is the bbq pork buns with a pineapple crust top but this was perfection as well! Would recommend the steamed dumplings as well as the chicken feet! Meaty and piping hot :)

My family and I hadn't had this place since 2017. Since then, they have undergone a huge remodel and the place is far brighter and their menus are upgraded. Meanwhile, it was my partner and his family's first time trying this restaurant. Service was quite rough for a Monday dinner. The restaurant was 1/3rd filled but they took a while to check in with us and take our orders. It was tough to get the attention of a server and after someone helped us, he called for someone else. When the second person came, I told her I was ready to order and then there was another wait for the third person who would finally take our order. I had already written out the 6 dishes we were planning to order for the group and they seemed to be missing several veggies, so all the meat dishes seemed to only be cooked with string beans as that was all they had. That eliminated 3 of the dishes I wanted to order. Pea sprouts 5/5, perfectly stir fried. So simple, yet so delicious steamed chicken with black fungus 4/5 - Delicious but it did not come with black fungus... they didn't tell us that and so the dish arrived with just meat... confused as to why we weren't informed and it was still the same price when it's missing a vital part of the dish! stir fried green beans with black cod 5/5 - very well made! the fish was so deep fried beef chow fun 5/5 - well made and standard chef fried rice - also well made and standard Outside of them missing several vegetables and ingredients in their dishes and the slow service; the food and way it's cooked has certainly skyrocketed in quality!

The food is fine, but the wait time is crazy and not worth it. For so far north of the east bay, I'm sure the food is nice, but why was our wait 2 hours! We had a larger party of 9, but we waited from 12:30 until 2:30. It was a Saturday during winter break, so maybe during other months they would have a shorter wait? We had to get some chicken from Safeway to deal. Porridge and dessert egg buns were good, but overall other food was not special enough.

Huge Cantonese dim sum restaurant. Delicious food and quick service. You order order on a tablet right from your table

Very busy but thankfully got a big table for 14 people. Just gotta wave down the waiters as they are busy but easy and quick service for food as you can send in your order via the tablet. Everything was yummy. Bathrooms are clean and great clean ambiance. Good set up and always a nice stop for family visiting

Came back another year and it's still the same quality, yet always a long wait during lunchtime especially on weekdays. It's so busy you have to get a number and wait until your number is called. The hosts are communicative with servers on which tea to serve for each table once we're seated. We ordered Siu Mai, Beef Balls, Pork and Peanuts Dumpling, Pumpkin Sponge Cake, Fried Shrimp Dumplings (Spicy), and Pan-fried rice noodle w/ beef and bitter melon. The sponge cake had less pumpkin filling, so it was meh. The rice noodle was the most delicious one, yet oily. Fried shrimp dumplings took longer to arrive, yet were moderately spicy due to the spices. I started sweating after one bite while my mom ate like nothing happened lol. When I went home with the leftovers, my habit of checking the filling inside the fried dumpling was a blessing because I found a silver metal strand (approximately 1 cm long) inside the shrimp. Too bad I didn't take a picture. It would've been dangerous for elderly people and children to consume. So please check your food before eating. There are a lot of smokers outside that you can smell through the entrance every time the door is opened. They should be called the Chainsmokers Area. Also, expect to hear loud conversations in Cantonese, so not good for first dates, but good for weddings and family gatherings. Best to come after 1 pm to beat the crowds to try their fusion dim sum.

Beautiful large venue. Dim sum is delicious and service is quick. Always busy, even midday on a weekday.

Ordered some items to go to eat at home. The restaurant was packed! Make sure you order everything at once. You'll have to wait longer if you add an item later on, you'll have to wait a lot longer for the additional item to be ready All of the food I ordered was delicious as always. The chow fun was a hit this time with my friends. The fried dough with meat in it is one of my favorites. It was yummy this time around as well.

I was going to give 10% tips, because the dishes came too slow... and the service isn't as good as that much. later on, their manager came to us and said the tips are too less, asked to increase to $40, he said usually people leave that much, the least 18%. Isn't the tip always based on how the customer feels??? Why did it look like required? We finally leave a $30 as the recipient above. Again, TIPS ARE BASED ON US.

Everything was absolutely delicious, no complaints at all. I come here often with my family whenever I visit the Bay Area, and we love stopping by for either dinner or their morning dim sum, which is also fantastic. The food is consistently great. Just a heads-up: it is on the pricier side, so keep that in mind when planning your visit.

Have you been to a restaurant two nights in a row because it was good? We did, my friends insisted on going back for the steamed fish again! It really was that good! This time our fish was a 3.25 lbs vs 2.75 from the previous night. Besides the steamed fish, everything else we ordered was different. And the place was packed for a Tuesday evening.

Is the 15% service charge mandatory for parties of 2 people?

Do not know but there was a mandatory 18% service fee for 4 people. Plus the sales tax is based on the food and mandatory service fee.

Do they have a dinner menu online? Most the pics on Yelp show the dim sum menu. Thanks!

Yes they do! It’s on their website: https://www.fusiondelight.net/dinner-menu

Are the hours posted the most updated?

Don't know. I recall the last time I looked at their sign, it was on the day they were closed. On Tuesdays, other than that, I don't know how updated their posted business hours are.

Is the cost of the specialty dinners per person or for the entire spread? I saw some menus ranging from $800-$1100 and i don't understand the characters to decipher what they mean.

We quickly realized that a lot of people who entered were placing their names on a clipboard to the left. We did the same and the wait time was about 10min. The waiters call your name based on tables available. So 2-3 people usually get called up first. Bigger parties get called once tables are available. So if you have a bigger party on the weekend, be prepared to wait. You can also place an order at the register if you choose takeout, no need to wait. We got seated pretty fast and were handed menus right away. The waitress also brought us cups and water. The menu looked amazing. We ended up ordering the following: 1. Beef stew with crispy noodles - 7/10 we went with the pictured selection instead of rice and I think rice would have been q better option. The dish itself was huge and really good. 2. Tomyum spaghetti - 9/10 this portion was HUGE. The tomyum mixed with spaghetti was really good. 3. Hot coffee - 10/10 my husbands favorite. They sweeten this ahead of time. 4. Lemon honey tea - 10/10 wow was this drink good! 5. Cold cucumber salad - 10/10 huge portion but it came out after our meals. I will say the portions are shareable and extra plates can be given. if you go with one more person, I would suggest sharing. it is kind of hard to get a waiter during lunch time but they made sure we got everything we needed. Their menu inside and their receipts spell their name as one word...Jingege. Why different on this…read morelisting? There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

It was so nice to eat locally and have a good meal with great parking. They are in the Safeway shopping center and share a lot with them. The place is clean and bright, very inviting. Most of the party arrived before us so we were able to easily find our table. We were set next to the fish take, by the kitchen. It was a good arrangement. We had 2 tables with identical entrees. We ordered: Green Beans, Salt and pepper chicken wings, shrimp fried rice (Everyone's least favorite dish), Chow Fun, duck, and probably some other dishes. The green beans were the best dish. The chicken wings were good, but not as flavorful as people hoped, they probably won't be ordered again. The fired rice was a big disappointed, it had shrimp in it, but it lacked flavor. We didn't get a soup. We also had a steamed fish which was really good, coming from a not big fish fan. It was seasoned with soy sauce and was a big hit with the table. Even my picky nephew ate some. We also had calamari, it wasn't a big hit, we didn't even take it home with the leftovers. We all got tea and we asked for ice water for everyone which was drank along with the tea. If you request it they will bring out forks, my brother in law made the request. I was impressed even the kids used chopsticks. I definitely reccomend this restaurant. Especially for large groups. It's set up for banquets. I can't comment on the bathroom, because we didn't use it.

I guess this was when it started to get less busy. Within an hour, half the diners were already gone. Service was a little slow. They did not have enough servers working all the tables. The food on the other hand came out in a timely manner and were steaming hot when they got to our table. We ordered about a dozen dishes and they were all delicious. My favorite dish was the Golden Tofu Cube with Salted Egg. It was a little salty and the inside was soft while the outside was crispy. I also liked the Stir Fried XO Sauce Rice Rolls. It was flavorful, tender and I thought they used the right amount of sauce for my liking. The dining area was quite big. The baked pork buns are good - slightly different in that there's no glaze on them but the outside was crispy and the inside tender and the filling was tasty - they are why I'm giving 2 stars. The honey walnut prawns were inedible - the sauce was hard lumpy globs sitting randomly on top of fried shrimps, truly disgusting. The scallion pancakes were not crispy or flaky - Trader Joe's are better. The tofu rolls were cold on one side, like refrigerator cold, while the other side was lukewarm. The jellyfish salad had no flavor whatsoever, just the very slightest hint of sesame. No salt, nothing. The seaweed salad was decent. The deep fried mochi puffs with meat filling were bad. The outer shell was too thick so the inside was uncooked and doughy. Inedible. And, the cold chicken feet were so tough they were in edible. I didn't know you could make chicken feet like that, so tough. Again not really any flavor, they were just tossed with a little bit of chili sauce and hardly any of that. And no vinegar chili sauce for dipping. I would not recommend.
