I've been looking for a seafood boil in the east bay, and I'm glad I found one. This location is in downtown San Leandro. They have free parking in their parking lot up to 1.5 hr. On the app when paying, there is a code at their front entrance wall, type it in and it'll be free. This place sits a party of 10 quite comfortably, so everyone can enjoy their seafood boils! Their recommendation sauce was their Louisiana (Mild); they said it's like a "hot Cheeto" level of spicy, but I went with their Garlic Butter (Mild) and it was DELICIOUS. A lot of flavor, not overly salty, and tasted best with their side of rice. I loved how they have COMBOS as well. One of their combo served 1lb of head-on shrimp, your choice of clam/mussel and 2 corn, potato's and sausage for a reasonable price! Their customer service here is really friendly, and your order is served by a robot. Once your item arrives, you grab it and click done! I'm really happy that I don't have to go all the way to San Jose for my seafood boil fix anymore! Boiling Crab was my go to, so if you like there I'm sure you'll like Bag O' Crab too. The only thing I would pass on is their fried chicken sandwich (too dry) and their sweet potato fries (overly coated with sugar). read more

The service here is amazing, the staff was friendly patient and accommodating. I went here for a friend's birthday during the week. The wait wasn't long and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. But the people cooking may need to take their time and test the food before delivering. We had to send items back because they weren't done and a frozen taste. Some of the sauces were good but on top of food that wasn't fully cooked was disappointing. Such a good place to be when it's so close to home. We always come here for the oysters and as you can see in the picture, they are shucked VERY well! Always fresh and never rancid compared to other places! You can now make a reservation through Yelp which I find very helpful instead of waiting during busy hours. Memorial Day, 05/25/2026 With the wife wanting a seafood boil, we knew a reputable place to achieve this would be at a Bag O' Crab. What immediately stood out about this location is it's located in a convenient spot in San Leandro but parking is absolutely atrocious. We were fortunate to get the lone available parking space in the lot but it was definitely not without its flaws. We got seated quickly as the restaurant was at half capacity but noticed after sitting down we were directly under the speakers which were so loud we asked to be reseated to another spot in the restaurant. We were once again seated under a the speaker system near the front but it was significantly less loud in comparison to the right side of the restaurant. The service was alright. Our initial server a young woman with her hair down botched our order. We ordered Combo 4 with Dungeness Crab but instead were given Lobster. Additionally the wife ordered an Orange soda which but it never arrived. We were charged for it and notified a male server who was a million times more helpful and attentive who gave the option of being refunded for it or he could still give it to us. The wife opted to take the soda and he provided it with a plastic cup of ice which was appreciated. What we can say is that the male servers were much more active than our female server who chose to spend more time on her phone than actually working. There was another young woman working there as well who was very active and attentive to getting tasks done. The quality of food was also okay. It wasn't spectacular but was passable. Overall, the experience was simply a pass. We would much rather go to the Berkeley location or another one further out than what we received in San Leandro. The verdict: 3/5 read more

Pretty solid seafood boil and so close to home! Parking is rough in the lot, so I suggest looking for metered parking around the area. There's a lot of double parking in the lot, so it seems easier to just avoid it. The weekend dinner waitlist was around 30 minutes, which was reasonable. The service was meh... it didn't seem like they care too much about being friendly, but instead care to just get you what you needed. Our server checked on us once during the entire dinner. The game was on so some of them were paying to that instead. As someone who worked in hospitality, and still works with clients directly, the standard wasn't met. No pic taken, but i ordered the combo 1 which has 1 lb shrimp, 1 lb clams, 2 corn, 2 potatoes, and 4 sausages, all for $36. That's actually a great price, however, the sauce is too chunky in my opinion, and that shrimp was overcooked... it was stiff to the bite. I've ordered and dined here multiple times, both in person and through Uber Eats, and I've never received something this disgusting. I asked for just a little heat, but the entire meal was unbearably spicy--so much so that I couldn't even enjoy it. On top of that, the food quality was absolute garbage. My partner and I are big crab fans and have tried a bunch of spots around the Bay. We moved to the East Bay about a year ago and finally decided to try Bag O' Crab since it's just down the street. We usually go to Lemon Crab in Hayward, so that's our baseline. We showed up around 6:30 PM and were told there would be a five to ten minute wait. No big deal. But while we were sitting there, we noticed four or five staff members just kind of standing around near the host stand. A couple of them even mumbled, "Are they waiting for a table?" as if they weren't sure. There were clearly open tables already set up with white paper, so it was weird that it took so long to get seated. Eventually, someone finally walked us over to a table that had been empty the whole time. Our server brought us water and said she would be back to take our order. Then we waited... and waited. We had to ask someone else to get her. She finally came by, but honestly, it felt like she really didn't want to be there. No smile, barely any energy, just kind of going through the motions. It set a weird tone for the meal. We ordered the Dungeness crab, which was $50, with the atomic sauce at medium heat. The sauce was garlicky and flavorful, but it was definitely spicier than expected and too much for my partner. Next time we would probably go with mild, if we decide to come here again. We also got the garlic noodles, which were decent but a little too salty. You could really taste the soy or oyster sauce, which kind of clashed with the bold crab sauce when eaten together. When they brought the crab, we had to ask for crackers since they didn't bring any. More waiting. Then later, we needed water refills and had to flag down our server again. The same thing was happening at other tables too. You could see people waving down staff. There were plenty of employees around, but most of them seemed more interested in talking to each other than checking on tables. Even if they were bussers, it would have made a difference if they helped with waters or just looked more aware. It felt like most of the staff were young and just saw this as a whatever kind of job. No one seemed invested in providing good service. I honestly wish the owner would watch the cameras and see how the place is being run. Too much standing around and not enough attention to customers. Even paying was a hassle. I walked to the register and the hostess was on the phone. She walked off to another counter with the call, leaving me standing there. Again waiting for a while. Luckily, one of the servers noticed I was there for a while and helped me out so I could just leave. Overall, this was a frustrating experience from start to finish. It was disgusting. The crab was dried out. The potatoes were big hard and old they had been precooked. I know what a seafood boil is baby. My family makes seafood boils so I don't know what that was and why they would take peoples money that amount of money and have such disgusting food. I usually pick bag o' crab when it's my turn to pick dinner for a special occasion. I love this place! It's pretty casual and it bigger than it appears on the outside. Service has been pretty good most times we've come here. I would say they're super enthusiastic but they're attentive and friendly enough. They do fried food pretty well. I really like their fried oysters and wings. The raw oysters are pretty decent too. I usually do their combo 1 ( you pick 2 different seafoods, 1 pound each) and it comes with some potatoes, corn and sausage. I like their atomic sauce which is kinda like the whole shebang. I have an okay spice tolerance and I can usually handle between mild to medium. Sometimes the sauce can be a little on the salty side but nothing some lemon can't fix. This is my third time at Bag o' Crab, and while the food isn't exactly gourmet, it's tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered the Combo 1, which includes shrimp head on and mussels. I liked the shrimp, but the mussels were okay and I wouldn't order them again. I was a bit let down that the bag only had one sausage link cut into four pieces (the menu says it has four full sausage links), but overall, the bag's flavor and seasoning were good. Sorry, my pictures were after I already started eating. This is probably the best seafood boil I've been too! Highly recommend garlic noodles and calamari basket. I also got the fried fish plate and it was a good choice. The seafood boil flavor was great! Good amount of sauce and it was thick. I got medium spice and it was pretty spicy; I was surprised and would have gotten mild spice. The only negative thing I have to say is that my order of clams were disappointing. We still like the seafood, but they rarely use the robot cat waiters to deliver food any more, and the restaurant is often either so loud from the music that we have trouble talking to each other, or so cold from the air conditioning that my garlic butter is congealing as I eat it. These days it's more of a sports bar than a seafood place, but we're still looking for a replacement, so this *is* still our go-to. read more

1st time back since my last to go review. Came in on a Wednesday evening about 4pm for an early dinner, not that many customers and the service was really slow. Lemon Pepper Wings were good but a little over cooked. Baked Oysters with the Garlic Butter was okay good but for $6 you get 2 very small oyster, not worth it. Gumbo was lacking the Southern flavors. Shrimps with the Atomic Sauce had good flavor. The shrimps were a good size. Just know that, They have a very small parking lot which is shared with a couple of other restaurants, but there are street parking and another larger lot within walking distance. read more

To start it off they sat us in a spot right at the entrance where people are leaning on the wall hanging their hair over your drinks and food. we ordered and they gave us the wrong order at first and it took forever for our actual order to come out afterwards so our rice was all cold and drinks were all watered down. then when the food got there everything was fine until i tried to eat a potato and they were all damn near still raw, i had to cut them with the shell of a muscle and even then it was barely cutting. rest of the food was great and service was good but still definitely not the best experience this time. read more

I've been coming here for years, but unfortunately my experience yesterday was very disappointing. The service was poor from start to finish. Our water was never refilled, no one came by to check on our table, and we had to flag down a waitress just to get our check. To make matters worse, a $20 tip was added without our authorization. After being a loyal customer for so many years, this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We visit Bag O Crab every couple months. Today we visited for our anniversary and it was perfect! We shared a #2 combo and added a bag of king crab legs. Everything was delicious. It did take awhile to be seated even though they weren't busy but after that it was great. Our server was the always amazing B. She made sure everything was perfect. Our drinks stayed full and the food came out quick. The restaurant was clean, they had lots of games up on the tvs and good music playing. Thank you B for always taking such good care of us. Service is great even on busy game nights, for a party of 2 you obvi get seated fairly quickly, after signing up for the waitlist so I cant speak for bigger groups but I waited less than 10 minutes. Its the perfect spot for family or couples to go for dinner, with tvs and a bar. Noise level is also fairly high but youd expect that at a restaurant of this caliber. Food came out at a good time on a robot which is very cute but if an employee comes by they will help you grab all the items off. They also have a code that gives you 1.5 of free parking because even on sundays you have to pay for street parking. The parking lot in front if them does get full fast you have a better chance at just parking a block or 2 away and use their code. read more

So disorganized. they told us they were short staffed, yet we saw 4-5 servers just standing around chatting with each other instead of actually checking on tables. no urgency, no real attentiveness. and then one server literally scolded a table for taking a bag of crab that the robot dropped off - like "that's not yours!!" in front of everyone. how the hell would they know that? the robot stopped at their table, there are no table numbers visible, and no one was directing it. that's on the staff or the lack of visible table numbers that we can confirm with the robot screen, not the customer. if a robot stops at my table also and tells me this is my order, I'm also not cross referencing - I'm just gonna believe it and take the food. Don't yell at customers for a novel experience. overall, the service just felt sloppy and amateur, especially for the price point. real shame, bc we actually liked the food. might do takeout next time but not tryna sit through that again. the only item I didn't care for much was the garlic noodles which had too much Maggie's seasoning and soy sauce. I was iffy as there were a LOT of bad reviews both online and from coworkers about this chain. I'm glad I was proven wrong! I went with Louisiana medium spice and it was perfect. All the shrimp and mussels were delicious. I ate the whole bag by myself with extras for work the next day. I cooked my own white rice to eat with it. While the flavors are good (got the thirteen flavors this time spiciest level), the shrimps were overcooked again to the point where some of them were extremely rubbery. Heads had no juice either. Nah but I do think the sauce I had was a little on the thick and oily side so I couldn't really enjoy it the way I normally do - mind you I got lemon pepper with a mild spice combo #2, did I eat everything? Absolutely. BUT I will say I'm not sure if I would do the snow crab again it was hella tedious to get the meat out & not really a lot of meat. The garlic noodles were good as expected as well. Staff needs more training on customer service. Specifically the Asian waiter.don't be rude. Without us you won't have a job. I noticed that they picked who they choose to serve. By race or your wallet. Never going to that place and found a new one at Newark the food was great and staff is so nice and kind they will do anything for you. Came here with friends on the recommendation of a coworker. How do I not know what restaurant is in my own neighborhood?! First off, this restaurant is located in downtown San Leandro. There are not many free parking available, including the parking lot attached to this business. You'll have to download the AirGarage app to pay. Once inside the restaurant, we were seated pretty promptly. It was very spacious and I was surprised by how many tables they have available. The staff were friendly and very helpful in answering questions about the menu. We each ordered our own seafood boil and shared some sides - cajun fries and garlic noodles. The food came out quickly, it was fresh and the sauce was delicious. I will definitely come back when I'm craving some cajun seafood boil. read more
