I placed the order via door dash for pick up so I can't speak too much to the service but I could see the kitchen may have been overwhelmed once we arrived to grab our order. That said, the food was on point! The shrimp in the classic po boy was cooked to absolute perfection. Crispy on the outside with succulent, juicy shrimp on the inside. The bread tasted fresh and came with a good balance of sauce, tomato, and pickles. The crab fries were well portioned and TASY!! I will definitely be back for these!

Yep, Southern Comfort is a solid 4. I had spent 10 days in Alameda and was looking for something different and interesting. This was it. I am a southern boy and love my Cajun food. I was really busy while in town and was thrilled that Grubhub delivered to my address. I ordered fried catfish ans shrimp. The catfish was mild sand perfectly seasoned, The ship was also good, but wish I had tarter sauce. Maybe I missed is. My son wanted Etoufee', but unfortunately, it dropped off of the menu later in the day. We got the seafood gumbo instead and it did not disappoint. I also think I would like hushpuppies in the future as well. Southern Comfort filled my soul! Yeah, I enjoyed my meal very much and will definitely order from them again!

This was a DoorDash order- Seafood from this place is 10/10 but I was very disappointed with their side dishes. I ordered jambalaya and it missed the mark. Tomato disguised as links. It broke my heart. . Brussel sprouts however were amazing if you like them sweet.

Always hits the spot! This time, I wanted a deconstructed WhoDat and man, was it good! Unfortunately, I inhaled it so quickly, I forgot to take pix! LOL Thanks to the always wonderful staff!

While you won't be fooled into thinking you're in Coop's, in New Orleans, the food at Alameda's own Southern Comfort Kitchen is a loving reminder to our times in the Big Easy. The fried oyster po-boy was an excellent execution of the dish, although the hush puppies were a little more like Jiffy corn muffins than I remember from Bourbon Street. The very basic, even austere, cafeteria setting reminds me of family-run places down south. Everything that we tried, and the very helpful and personable staff, makes it easy to return.

I ordered to go and was excited when I opened the lid but was then disappointed when I started eating. While it was flavorful there was not one piece of crawfish in the pasta which basically defeated the purpose of ordering. I will try again but I hope something like this doesn't happen again.

I have eaten several times at Southern Comfort Kitchen Castro Valley and their Food Truck!!! I was aware this location opened up in Alameda 5 months ago. I rolled there today for Dinner and walked in . They were Busy as they have a Drive thru also. They seemed Over Whelmed with the Door Dash Orders . Some of the Kitchen Staff seemed undertrained. Their front Counter staff were stressed out and let the Door Dash Drivers know it . When it was my turn I Ordered a Large Bowl of Gumbo and Catfish and Fries Platter!!! My Order was 113 I waited 30 Minutes for my order and people that ordered after me were getting the orders before me WTF? Dining Room was pretty Dirty!!! Floors needed to be Swept and Tables wiped down. It was Night and Day from their Castro Valley Location!!! When I did get my food ! The Gumbo was Good!!! Just could have been hotter. The Catfish was Fried to Perfection!!! French Fries were Salted to Heavily!!! For these Reasons this is not a Baller On A Budget Approved Establishment

We had the cashier chose 3 of the best meals 50/50 w/catfish, shrimp and over the fries crab! 100% awesome Who Dat Shrimp with fries. Over the top with creamy creole sauce. A must order Crawfish Etouffee. Omg just like orleans! The bomb! And to end the meal being Sunday BEIGNETS. What a way to end a great meal. It was nice and quiet and ambiance was relaxing. Alameda folks, what you waiting for! There's a parking lot and drive thru. We are definitely coming back! Keep up the great food and service!

Ive been here once before while working out in alameda and i fell in love with everything! i came in tonight after work super excited to come here again and have my significant other try this out because he is more of a foodie than me. got there about 9:45 ordered a bit of everything to try and waited about 5 minutes for our food once we got to the window. it's unfortunate to say my 3 stars are due to the very tall gentleman at the window who seemed annoyed at the fact we were there even though they close at 11..... i remembered his friendly face from last time i came here but he was so rude this time... as we finished ordering i said thank you and he forgot to stop the intercom and i heard what he had to say about us "mannn why the f** do people" etc i couldnt catch the rest but i was so shocked at that to begin with.... like wow how rude couldnt even wait to let go of the button before talking smack. once we pulled up i paid, he was kind for a bit and then back to the bitter attitude. he forgot my drink until i had to ask for it , forgot my straw so i asked him for it and then i proceeded to check the bag to make sure there were forks and he had already closed the window, when i got his attention he looked SOOO bothered it made me uncomfortable. i even threw in a "im sorry if its not too much to ask can i get a fork" and he handed me them and proceeded to slam the window in my face loudly. definitely didnt shut casually because the first time it didnt slam like that. overwll the food is so delicious but next time i'll save myself the trip across the bridge. wont be coming back to this location at all. OH and i forgot to mention i made sure to ask for no pickles and they still threw them on there.

Garlic Noodles - Regular size. How can you NOT like butter and garlic! We should have ordered a large...? But actually it was more than enough. Crawfish Fried Rice - This was actually better than expected and of generous size. Atmosphere - This was a brother/sister shared location. But now it seems like it is one business...? The sister owns the Bucket of Crawfish and the brother owns Pho Anh Dao. But today they seated all of us on the Pho side. Fairly large space. I really like how they let you build your seafood experience exactly how you want it, from the type of seafood to the seasoning and spice level. The only thing was I think the spice level could've been kicked up a notch. Our table ordered a mix of oysters, garlic noodles, Cajun fries, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, which came with corn, potatoes, sausage and hard boiled egg! The seafood was fresh and the sauce coated everything nicely without being overwhelmingly salty, and the corn and potatoes soaked up all the seasoning. All for a very reasonable price if you get the combo, which comes in 3 different tiers! The oysters were a standout--fresh, briny & I loved all the different sauces like horse radish and cocktail on the side. I do wish the fries were a bit more crispy and could've gone heavier with the Cajun seasoning, but that's personal preference. The atmosphere is casual, lively, and perfect for big groups. If you're looking for a customizable seafood boil with fresh oysters, fun drinks, and plenty of options to build your ideal meal, Rockin Crawfish is definitely worth a visit

Based on that conversation, I expected fresh live crawfish, which was available Tuesday when I ordered from DoorDash the previous time. If the restaurant serves frozen crawfish, that's fine, but customers should be given accurate information when they ask directly about the product right? I feel misled because I relied on what I was told when making my purchase. Transparency is important, and I hope the restaurant does a better job communicating with customers about whether their crawfish are live or previously frozen. VERY DISHONEST BUSINESS SMH.

Anyone remember the Jack London Village that they tore down to build this end of the development? Anyways - this is a fast casual type spot, where you order from the counter, place the little number sign on your table and wait for it to be delivered. The menu is your standard seafood joint by the water type, with all the usual suspects represented. Fried fish, shrimp, chowder, seafood pastas--if you've ever been to a seaside seafood joint, chances are good that the menu here is exactly like the one you remember seeing at the countless other places like this one. I noticed right off the bat that their pricing structure was on the high side - with a $17 burger and fries option, with the bulk of the fried seafood options in the $22-25 range. A cheaper choice might be the $16 fish tacos (two of them) but I kind of draw the line at paying $8 for a single taco. Our table ordered a few of the fried options plus a few soda beverages. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and I noticed that the silver metal trays that the food comes on is a bit on the small side, especially considering the prices for each dish. The fried shrimp dish was a big scoop of mega-salty french fries, and 3 average sized deep fried shrimp. Yes - 3 as in 1, 2, 3. That's what - $7+ a shrimp? The two fried fish platters weren't much better portion-wise. My deep fried cod consisted of three modest sized fish-fingers, and not the single luscious chunk of perfectly fried cod I had imagined in my head when ordering. They were fine - but very average and nothing that stood out as life-changing or something to write home about. As mentioned earlier, they must be employing the Little Rascals method where they over salt everything, in hopes that you'll order another beverage to wash down the copious mounts of sodium (I figure about 4+ days worth). The fried catfish platter that rounded out our order was more of the same - thin meager portions of fish on a large bed of mega-salted fries. Small plastic containers of generic pre-made tartar sauce and coleslaw can with each platter. The coleslaw was fine - just very forgettable and perhaps a tad on the flavorless/watery side. All said, was it okay? Yes. Was it anything outstanding that I'd crave and plan my return to have again? No. It is in line with touristy by-the-Sea seafood places that charge an extra couple of bucks because they're "on the water"? Pretty much. You're paying for the view and the 'scene' of sitting on the patio out front to people watch, and not for the food. I kind of hate these places and normally try my best to stay away from them, but every once in awhile, you gotta put on your tourist hat and join the mindless flock. A meager 2 stars outta 5 from me. Instead, I'd stroll around this area on a Sunday when they hold the farmer's market (again - is not what it used to be) and then drive through the tube to Alameda where great dining spots are numerous on Park Street. You can stop at Crab Cove and Crown Beach on the way, for more touristy sightseeing.
