It looks like they specialize in Rice Noodles, so definitely give those a try! Let me just say everything that you order here comes out steaming hot so it's not your usual cart dim sum style. This was something that I tried for the first time and really appreciated! Some of the things I tried: Steamed pork and taro chunks 4/5 The steamed pork was so juicy and flavorful. They also throw in some taro chunks which I don't typically see, but it was delicious. A classic dish that's definitely worth trying. Thousand year old egg congee 4/5 The congee here comes in a GIGANTIC bowl. This is definitely something to order if going in a party of 3-4. When the check came and I left a zero on the tip line, the woman handing it to me pointed it out and asked why I hadn't tipped. After reading Yelp reviews about how busy they get, we came right when the restaurant opened and got a table immediately. It's a good thing we did because the restaurant filled up completely 5 minutes after ordering. We came to Yin Ji Chang Fen today for well, their Chang Fen. What's Chang Fen you ask? Rice roll with fillings in the middle oftentimes meat and vegetables cooked in a Hong Kong or Cantonese styled way. I ordered their marinated beef rice noodle roll and boy was it delicious! Compared to other dim sum places that offer rice noodle it is almost night and day. Your typical dim sum spot usually has a thicker version of rice noodle. Oftentimes steamed and may be on that steam top for hours at a time. That makes the texture of the rice noodle way too firm and oftentimes it is difficult to eat a lot of it due to the carbs stuffed in them. Not the rice roll from Yin Ji Chang Fen! It has shrimp and pork in it and the flavor is fantastic. Their har gow (shrimp dumplings) have been a hit or miss lately. We order 3-4 plates at a time so sometimes they try to fit all of them in one big basket and it gets cramped and the har gow breaks apart easily while picking up with a chop stick. However, it's definitely the best har gow anywhere. Hand pounded shrimp and a lot of shrimp filling! You actually taste shrimp and it's authentic and delicious! I love their chicken congee! Wait a full 6-7 minutes after you congee arrives on your table for maximum flavor. Mix it well since there is ginger at the bottom. It may seem like there is no seasoning in the congee but my understanding is that it either grows on you like it did on me or you could ask for their soy sauce mix for some extra saltiness. It is comfort in a bowl. Their supreme soy sauce noodles are the best! Great wok hey and delicious! Salty and not sweet at all. We pay a little extra for added chicken and it makes for a great meal! If they called it beef tendons over rice, I'd rate this an extra star. (3 stars) - Bbq pork buns were not my favorite. I felt the filling were just red sauce and small bits of pork. Didn't get much internal texture. (2.5 stars) This place has standard Chinese restaurant vibe where they take your order and food is served... immediately! I love that actually. They give you water in a jug but it's not iced. I do miss a waiter asking for what you want to drink although 95% of Chinese folks will probably just get for water or tea. read more

Was looking for a dim sum place that was good and not a long wait for a Sunday. The total wait time was about 10 minutes even with a full house which wasn't bad. The dim sum selection wasn't as extensive as a typical dim sum restaurant but it has some of the main items I like such as: siu mai, shrimp dumpling, and shrimp rice roll. The congee was really good and cheap. One bowl is good for two people. We didn't know that so got two bowls. Add the chinese donut and you'll be set. They didn't have chicken feet like the traditional dim sum spots. This is a small little joint but the service was fast and efficient. Soy sauce isn't on the table so you'll have to request it but they'll give you some quick in a small tray. read more

Came here for lunch after my uncle and my aunt raved about this place. It was the perfect opportunity for me to treat them even though they wanted to take care of the bill. The thing w/ me is if I know someone is paying then I will stick to ordering one item, usually the main entree but if I'm the one paying I usually go all out. One of the many bad habits I have but food is meant to be explored and enjoyed. I ordered the beef congee w/ raw egg, dough stick rice noodle, and shiu mai while my uncle and my aunt ordered steamed chicken claws, sliced pork and liver congee, plain rice noodle roll, and dough stick. It was a hefty and heavy lunch that i was able to wash down w/ conversations and a Diet Coke. Service was great, fast. The food was delicious. The rice roll is a lot thinner than the rice roll served at dim sum restaurants. It was silky and smooth. Light. The dough stick was not greasy and crispy, mildly flaky. The shiu mai was juicy, springy. I loved the chicken claws (not oily) and my beef and raw egg congee was comforting. It was hearty. Memories created w/ a simple lunch. I love my uncle very much and I was so happy he agreed to go and was able to go. Life is so short, so while saving money and eating healthy is a great thing and something that everyone ought to do but you will not have that much time w/ your loved ones. read more

Passing by several times and today we give it a try. As expected, we feel very good to come for lunch. Outside: easy parking, clear signs Inside: clean and tidy, good table setting. Menu with nice photos and easy to find our favorites. Food: good quality, authentic Chinese taste. Some are of well above-market standard. I tried the marinated beef rice roll (which costs $9) and it was okay. I didn't really taste the beef too much and I tasted the vegetables much more. However, for $9, it made me pretty full which is why I would give this a 3.5/5, but I'm rounding down because I really wanted to taste the beef (I only tasted sesame oil when I ate it by itself). I also had their Siu Mai and my only problem with it was it was a bit tough at the top, which was quite odd to me. All in all, it's a decent place to have a quick lunch and I would come back again if I was craving it or wanted to try more of the menu to hopefully change my opinion. UPDATE: I had their marinated beef and pork rice roll, and this time, it had a lot of meat. For $12 (tax + tip), it's good for the amount of food. read more

Came here on a Sunday lunch with some friends and it was pretty busy. We waited around 20min to be seated. This is specifically a Chang Fen place so we definitely wanted to try a few different ones. We also tried some of the usual dim sum dishes as well. Chang Fen Dough Stick 5/5: My personal favorite. Nicely cut pieces with a side of sauce. The dough stick really absorbs the sauce and explode in flavor when you bite into it. Shrimp 4/5: Tastes good but didn't stay together very well. The cuts were also uneven and I feel like they skimped out on the shrimp. Egg 4.5/5: My first time seeing egg in changfen and I was pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of egg pancake but this is obviously a lot more soft. Fried tofu 3/5: Pieces of fried tofu with a side of 5 spice sauce. I thought the spice was too overpowering. Spareribs 5/5: Good cuts of sparerib, very tender and juicy. read more
