    Matsuzaka Meat with Garlic Sauce
    Henry H.

We decided to come to Full House Dumpling for a dinner on a Friday night. The inside has a line with a divider that's similar one you would often see in Chipotle so our assumption is that it is a takeout like it. However, when we moved toward that direction, the waitress flagged us down and told us it is a sit down restaurant. Odd? Yes. The decor inside is fairly basic but clean, it's like a place you'll go to get your food but not remember the inside very much after you leave. There was no one when we came inside so we got our orders in pretty quick. We ordered: Food - (3 out of 5 stars) 1. Matsuzaka Meat with Garlic Sauce 2. Juicy Pork Dumplings (6 Pieces) 3. Green Onion Pancake with Egg (6 Pieces) 4. Sautéed Plain Asparagus 5. Salted Egg & Yolk with Tofu 6. Prawns Fried Rice 7. Mushu Pork with Egg top While most of the dishes tasted "fine", we could tell that the dishes weren't cooked by a professional chef from Taiwan. The taste are just a little, "off" and on the lighter side of things. While they didn't taste bad, they weren't great either. Service - (4 out of 5 stars) The waitresses were okay, there was no one that particular serves your table. They simply took turns and at times it took us a while to get someone. They were friendly, but it was a little chaotic. All in all, I felt my overall experience was just okay. I think I'll go elsewhere if I want something similar in the future unfortunately...

House Special Taro Squid Rice Noodles in a clay pot. One of my family's favorite, so good!!

Back at one of our favorite Taiwanese restaurant. Got our usual dishes. We came for a later lunch around 1:45pm, so we didn't have to wait. The kitchen closes by 2:20pm as lunch is closed by 2:30pm where you can only get take out. I always have to get the taro clay pot soup with vermicelli noodles, crab, octopus, fish ball, and mushrooms. We always have leftover of the soup and I love it because I can eat another meal out of it later. The soup has lots flavors and my stomach is quite satisfied. Perfect for the winter! The restaurant is also nice and clean and descent size. There is also a cute dumpling statue in the front that you can take a photo with your family if you are visiting from out of town.

Three flavor spicy noodle soup since
    Kimm N.

Came here to try out their three flavor spicy noodle soup since it's hard to find this dish at restaurants in recent years. Especially good quality that I used to get pre-pandemic days.. unfortunately most of the good ones didn't survive the pandemic and no longer existed. :( It was average in flavor and taste. Also the broth is a little on the thick side and could use more. That said my family loves their XLB and thought it was better than Din Tai Fung. Their beef noodle soup apparently was good too. Ambiance: lots of parking space, clean interior and expedient service.

***literally my mom's favorite restaurant*** OVERALL: No lunch specials. Taiwanese cuisine. Great prices. Edible food with more or less its expected flavor profile. Dishes are often dirty with spots. FOOD: ***you must always order the XLB as it's their specialty*** - their pickled Napa cabbage and soups seems to be rocking as well (their meatballs are homemade) - their sautéed items needs improvement (it's not very authentic or tasty, it's very MSG filled...for example, no cumin seeds in a cumin dish) - string beans aren't the fresh and crisp kind, but the kind of near past old stage SERVICE: Immediately speaks Mandarin. Very to the point. Very attentive. Would subconsciously rush you out when they see you are at your last bite or having a conversation, they will slip the bill on your table. Does not charge for bag or to go containers. AMBIANCE: Lunch does not seem very busy vs dinner and weekends likely due to no lunch specials. Mostly Mandarin speaking folks dining in. Casual. Great for large groups and parties. Located in the newer Newark / Stevenson plaza. Private parking lot. Would I come back? I wouldn't come here if I had a choice, but am frequently dragged here.

Rock found in crab seafood pork claypot (washed and dried it)
    DH P.

Overall, this cozy place is a good spot for authentic home-style Taiwanese food. I have to also preface that I found a rock in the food. -Garlic pea shoots 5/5, perfect sautéed greens -Pork & crab XLB 5/5, so tender and juicy without excessive grease. Just FYI it is not the typically "soupy" style, the broth is held delicately by the soft filling! -Crab, seafood, pork clay pot 3/5, although very delicious and exquisite delicate flavor, I unfortunately found a rock mid-chew. Thankfully I was eating mindfully and did not bite down hard. Disclaimer: You should always be careful when you eat - accidents happen, so things like hair, bugs, rocks, paper, plastic, or bits of metal just end up in your food sometimes. The service is fine. We did come on a busy Saturday afternoon. This type of restaurant is not one where you should linger and socialize for long, just come fill up and then be on your way lol. We were slowing down on our meal, but there was still like half of the food left, and the waitress still came over with the check when she noticed we weren't eating constantly anymore. Taking it as the trade off for the good prices!

Another update. Our family came to visit during Christmas time and they requested to come back here. We actually hadn't planned on coming here when they initially came a couple years ago but we were thwarted at a busier spot so we decided why not bring them to our go-to spot. So it did give them a good impression that they asked to come here again specifically for their Dong po pork with mini buns. So we came again but this time it was packed but we didn't wait too long to get seated. Then it was just a matter of ordering everything and getting all the food. Unfortunately they did mess up one of our orders which has also happened in the past. It's okay. We'll eat anything but it was a bummer though. But the quality has still been pretty much the same. We're still always comparing other places to this spot for the XLBs. There is a bathroom, but there's only one. So if someone is in there for a while, you'll have to wait. It was a bit difficult to brush my teeth in there though. There's also a lot of seating inside of various sizes that can be combined or taken apart depending on your party size which is nice. They're fast with their food so you won't wait long to be fed. Overall, we're still coming back here often whenever we're craving xlbs or just comfort food.

Crab Meat seafood combo tofu pot
    Jerry C.

Went with the fam to eat some soup dumplings. Came on a Saturday night, was fairly busy but we were able to be seated quickly. It was pretty crowded but service was good. I definitely see it as a nice casual spot for a cozy meal! We ordered 3 soup dumplings (loofah and shrimp, pork, pork and crab meat), the thin green onion pancakes, shrimp fried rice, and the crab meat seafood combo tofu clay pot. The soup dumplings and green onion pancakes were the standouts--juicy, savory soup dumplings paired with the vinegar ginger sauce were good, and the green onion pancakes were easy to eat, not too thick and still having some crisp to them, with little bits of scallion flavor coming through. Prices were reasonable and portions were filling! Overall, good place for soup dumplings and other Taiwanese dim sum foods.

    Janet H.

Super delicious cabbage and beef with 沙茶 (satay) sauce! Definitely recommend trying their xiao long bao -- that first bite when you sip the soup is so satisfying!

Food here is so good, the soup dumplings, pork with bun, green onion pancake. The service was really quick. Good size restaurant for group too, great place for breakfast and lunch, that's why we kept coming back

Stir fried A veggie with garlic
    Da Kat A.

Been here for a few times. The soup dumplings are always good. We tried all three kinds - the pork, pork & crab, loofah squash & shrimp. Dumping wrapping is thin and each steamer has 6 dumplings. Service is fast. It's nice that there are no bones in the drunken chicken and the three-cup chicken dishes. The fish filet with sweet and sour sauce is a bit strange since they added tomato sauce in it which isn't what we expected. The weekend is pretty busy and expect to wait if you go there around lunch time. Note that you'll need to walk all the way inside towards their counter to put down your name on the waiting list.

    Dumplings w/loofah shrimp
    Wei Y.

Came a long way just to check this place out--feels like I stepped on a landmine. Boneless Drunk Chicken - 3/5 Possibly to make the portion look bigger, the restaurant sliced the chicken thigh meat very thin. But this just made the texture unappealing, and it tasted overly salty. Prawns Fried Rice - 3/5 Overall, too salty and greasy. There's a strong soy sauce flavor that becomes overwhelming by the end. After finishing, my mouth felt oddly numb--really unpleasant. Corn Soup - 4/5 The soup was alright, but nothing particularly impressive. Juicy Dumplings with Loofah and Shrimp - 4/5 Unlike traditional soup dumplings, these didn't have much broth inside. Still, the unique combo of loofah and shrimp gave it a fresh and tasty flavor. The ambiance and service were decent, but the flavors weren't good enough to make me want to come back.

Yi-lan green onion pancakes (thick 4 pcs)
    Kaman L.

I have been very happy with the food here every time I came here. A star is taken out because the waitress placed a wrong order for me, but she didn't offered to replace it with the dish I ordered. Sakura shrimp fried rice is my favorite. It was not too salty and not dry as other restaurants that offered this dish. I also like the dried pickled radish omelet. It was juicy and tasty with rice. Sautéed a-Choy with garlic is good too. I was amazed with a wide range selection of vegetables here. 25 veggies dishes to choose from? I seldom see restaurants with that wide range of selection. Juicy pork dumplings (6 pieces) is not bad, but not the best that I ate before. Yi-lan green onion pancakes (thick 4 pcs) was the wrong order the waitress placed. Since it tasted not bad, I just let it go. :) Overall, I love love love the food here. Hope the server won't give me wrong order again next time.

    Xiao Long Bao
    Amy H.

Pretty solid experience here, it gets pretty busy here during lunch but if you come early enough you'll likely be able to grab a table. Most of the food options are solid, I haven't seen a place with braised beef soup with glass noodles and it's such a delicious dish. If you like the classic noodles, they also have that as an option. They're known for their dumplings and the Xiao Long Bao is delicious, they make sure everyone has ginger, soy sauce and vinegar. It is a bit milder in taste and the skin on the dumplings are on the thicker side. The shumai here doesn't use fish eggs and really well balanced in pork + shrimp.

The service was quick and attentive, and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated. The best thing we ordered was the Sizzling Yellow Croaker with Fried Garlics (9/10). The fish was super crispy, and the sweet, garlicky skin was incredibly addictive. I would 100% order this every time I come back. We also had the Shredded Cabbage with Sliced Pork (8/10), which was nice and tangy. The cabbage soaked up all the sauce, making every bite packed with flavor, while the pork provided a great contrast to the vegetables. The House Special Fried Rice with Pickle & Beef (7/10) wasn't anything extraordinary, but it served as a great base alongside the other dishes. The pickles were an interesting addition, as I've never had fried rice prepared that way before, but I definitely enjoyed it. Finally, we decided to try the House Special Spicy Frog in Stone Pot (6.5/10) since most of us had never had frog before. The flavor was outstanding, with a great umami depth and just the right amount of spice. The frog itself was a little difficult to eat because of the large number of bones, but the meat was tender and juicy. Replacing the frog with another protein probably would have made it more favorable, but I still enjoyed trying something new and didn't regret ordering it. Overall, Ping's Bistro is a great spot for outstanding Chinese food. Every dish we tried was enjoyable, and there are still so many items on the menu I'd love to come back and explore. The prices are on the higher side, but the quality and flavor make up for it. I'll definitely be back.

Service was not bad - they refilled ice water multiple times, which was surprising for a Chinese restaurant. That said, it would have been nice if they had actually announced what dishes we were getting. The menu included: - Chicken soup - Stir fried beef with vegetables - Cold marinated chicken and geoduck - Fish maw with pea sprouts and shiitakes - Fried egg tofu - Steamed fish - Twin lobsters with vermicelli - Suckling pig with steamed buns - Fried rice The highlight was the fish roe fried rice: great texture and flavor. Other things were variable in flavor. For example, the lobster was good, but the vermicelli texture and flavor were lacking. The banquet menu we got was good value and was more than enough food. I am definitely interested in trying their weekend dim sum.

We started with the One Piece Mixed Salad (tofu skin, vermicelli noodles, woodear mushrooms, carrots, celery, seaweed, and peanuts, all mixed in a savory, acidic, and spicy dressed ) and the Shredded Potato Salad, both of which made for nice appetizers. We also had the Cold Skin Noodles (Liangpi), a bowl of wide, chewy noodles mixed with a savory sauce and topped with tofu puffs, shredded cucumber , bean sprouts, and a creamy sesame sauce. Hailing from Xi'an, the Braised Pork Pita Burger was fatty pieces of pork braised in a savory sauce, served in a dry round of "pita," but even better was the Spicy Cumin Lamb Pita Burger, which contained a tantalizingly spicy, flavorful filling of tender spiced lamb. The Signature Beef Bone Noodle Soup came with noodles in a simple broth, topped with three bone-in beef ribs. The meat on the ribs was rather tough and sinewy, and the soup on the bland side, but the presentation of the dish was definitely impressive. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece...
