As a customer prior to their viral videos, I can tell you this place has good service and is generally pretty clean inside. Each time I've ordered here, the cashier has been kind and helpful when I had questions about their menu, they've even offered a bag for my to-go chips and salsa before my order was ready (that's rare!). Food could take a while, but in some ways I can understand because they have lots of dine-ins and take-out orders to fulfill. Recently they had $1 Tuesday Tacos for the month of March and I had to check that out. I ordered al pastor, carne asada, shrimp, and lengua. Out of those, only the carne asada tasted okay, the rest was overcooked and very dry with no flavor. Even though they're $1 each, the staff needs to know to anticipate a large crowd and have most food prepped ahead of time without compromising the quality and flavor. I only went one day because I was too disappointed by that visit. Not sure if they do this every year, but on 4/20 they had a $4.20 breakfast burrito special. It was posted on their IG stories and I happened to be in the area and picked one up. The burrito wasn't bad, definitely a decent size, and the meat was a bit better but it lacked flavor again. This place has been here for a while and I hope they can gain more customers while retaining their existing customers by improving the flavoring on their meats. This is one of our go to restaurants for authentic Mexican food. The flavors are very traditional and the portions are huge! The staff is very friendly and always wants to make sure to get your food out quickly and correctly. It does get pretty crowded, especially late night. Highly recommend the steak quesadilla or enchiladas. read more

We came during the month of march on a Tuesday as I saw an advertisement of $1 Taco Tuesday. We got there at 5pm, kind of early for dinner right, so not much people? Wrong. Lol There was a decent size line. Took about 15-20mins in line. Once we get to the front. We ordered and the guy says it will be at least an hour wait for the tacos. Whatttt. Well we already waited so long. Sure. Soon enough the place got packed. When we got our food and was eating, we hear people saying they are now announcing it is a 2 hour wait for tacos. Also, they messed up our order and it took an additional 30mins to get our correct order. It seemed a bit unorganized in there. I think it was just so many people. The sad part was that the food wasnt that good.... It was very mid. The steak was chewy and tough. The carnitas was big chunks. Barely cut up. The fish was over cooked. I visited Taqueria Azteca in Dublin, CA [7155 Amador Plaza Rd] on Sunday, 01/25/26, around 6:30 PM. I decided to place a takeout order. I ordered one of the soup options - the PhoBirria with Short Rib. It included pho noodles, birria, short rib, sprouts, lime, cilantro, and onions. The soup was extremely delicious and flavorful. What I loved most was the tender short rib meat, along with the rich flavor of the broth and birria. The entire dish left me feeling full and completely satisfied. For about $25, it was worth every penny. The order took a while to prepare since it was during the dinner rush. It was a good thing that I called ahead because it took about 35 minutes for the order to be completed. The salsa bar area was also running a little low on a couple of the salsas. Overall, Taqueria Azteca offers wonderful food. I would definitely return again for the epic PhoBirria with Short Rib soup. read more

Ordered their torta Cuban.. had an image and description. It's not what I got, we got a pineapple and hotdog sandwich. And when I asked them about it they said "that how we make it". And when I said that not what's described on the menu the girls answer was "I just work here".. so don't go here it's not worth it. The rest of our food was frozen fries and watery guacamole. My second time here, I tried something very different. I've had a Birria pizza before elsewhere but now I got a carne asada. There are other choices of meats to choose from so I believe Birria is a choice here too. FYI I did ask for the jalapeños to be off Delicious...only 2 slices left for me to try the next day The Bao birria was different, good but not to the point I'd come back for more or put it on my must get list. It seems like you can order one or 5 that come with fries. I still have a few more items I want to try but it would probably be best to try it with a few people so I'll bring my girls next time. They are a small location though so don't bring a big party here. Small groups will enjoy their space. They have a kiosk to order on but I thought it was easier to order with the employee because I wanted to edit an item. Everyone pretty much likes ordering with the employee, I would see them hop on but go off when the employee was free to take orders. I came here to get lunch to go. My first time here. I asked the cashier what was their most popular and famous dish, he said Quesabirria with consome, so I said ok, I will try, one please. I tried it when I got home and it was indeed delicious. Three Quesabirria with console at $16.95 plus tax was almost $20. There were free chips and salsa that you can help yourselves to get. Ok, so the food here is mostly good, but what I experienced was terrible. Last week, I placed an online order and they forgot to check the bags to see if all items were packed. They missed the churros, but made it right and refunded me. That said, they packed one of the boxes upside down and sauce leaked everywhere all over the bag. A bit of mess, but forgivable because the food tasted amazing. Yesterday I placed another online order. I bit into my birria cheesesteak and found a screw! I have frequented Taqueria Azteca a few times and the ambiance is definitely a casual divey taco joint but their street tacos for this event were outstanding in price and flavor. For the special, they had a wide selection of meat options (presume they have veg options too) and the seafood options were excluded. Service was quick and efficient. Our 12 tacos were well presented in a covered tray with generous lime and radish slices. Chips and a variety of salsas were complimentary and self serve. Not to be missed! read more

The establishment was so busy as they had a promotional $1 taco Tuesday for a month. I was impressed with all of the people that showed up to try their tacos. Sadly I was not impressed with the tacos carne asada and pollo that I ordered. Drier than my dryer sheets and probably tasted alike. I actually ordered pastor but they gave me chicken instead. Door dashed burritos and fries from Taqueria Azteca. Pick up was easy and food was packaged neatly. Didn't eat there so I can't say much about the ambiance. The outside of the building is clean, nice and bright. We picked up a couple breakfast burritos and carne asada fries. The Mexican style breakfast burrito was delicious with chorizo, loaded with cheese, and had potatoes. I am in the camp of potatoes or fries in burritos. The American style breakfast burrito was amazing. There was crispy taters, also loaded with cheese and sausage. I would order any of these again. The carne asada fries had chunks of meat and also loaded with cheese. This taqueria does not hold back on the cheese the fries themselves were thicker cut and were on the soggy side. Maybe it was from being in a takeout box or the fries soaked up all juices from the meat and cheese. Either way it was good but I will try it in the restaurant next time. read more

Just wanted to stop by and add that I just tried the green pozole the other day. Bet good and comforting soup and everything packaged well. I think they meant to give me cabbage as one of the toppings, but instead gave me lettuce. No biggy - I just left the lettuce out and added the onions and cilantro. I love that they give you an actual soup spoon too! will definitely order this pozole again as we get into the colder months. read more

Food was amazing, carnitas exactly how I like it for the exception of slightly bland. It's a nice small space with outside seating. Only thing was when I asked the guy about the way the carnitas are done he just had a bothered look on his face and went to explain how it's done at their local, I don't think I was asking an out of the norm question as some places throw it on the grill to heat it up but then it comes out crunchy which o don't like. Came to Taqueria Azteca after a day trip to Oakland mainly because the SO was influenced by TikTok and saw the "No Mames" huge-mongous taco. Located in a strip mall off Amador Plaza, Taqueria Azteca caught virality when it started posting reels of Mexican staples of higher magnitude (pop, pop!). Somewhat a fan of gimmicky things, I immediately bookmarked this place and hoped one day I would conveniently pass by Dublin to go there. The inside is small but well-decorated with nice natural lighting, bright and colorful tile line the counter, and a fully loaded salsa bar sits off in the corner with fresh chips pouring in every other half hour. We ordered at the counter and found a table to sit while we waited. Surprisingly, I had no idea this little taqueria takes reservations! We were kindly asked to move because a large family had a reservation about 5 minutes from when we sat. We decided to order: - No mames taco with beef: HUGE thing and fit in those silver party trays. Had enough leftovers to last about 3 more giant servings. - Ribeye torta: this was big as well, but apparently there is also a No Mames torta. The sandwich was only OK and it needed the salsa from the salsa bar. - Grilled cheese birria: we got this to-go and it was still great after being toasted in the air fryer. Consome tasted amazing. Fries were aight. - Cabeza taco: So yummy, crispy, meaty! I really enjoyed their orange sauce (and so did many others apparently!) that it was nearly empty when I went to go fill my cups with it. Ambiance: This is a typical neighborhood taqueria. Plenty of locals. The owner walked to all the tables and greeted guests. He stopped at our table and chatted with us a few minutes and was a very friendly guy. Said he'd been in business for 27 years Food: The food was amazing! I had the carne asada plate with rice and beans and hubby had the Birria Pho with Ribeye. Let me tell you it was delicious. And the portion size was enough for two. Service: It's a taqueria so you pay at the counter but the cashier was pleasant and when I accidentally got guacamole and sour cream on my plate without hesitation they remade my plate. I discovered Taqueria Azteca through social media and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't just another overhyped spot. As someone who is picky about Mexican food, I came in with high expectations--and I left both impressed and fully satisfied. The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes with generous portions. Their Mexican-flavored drinks were refreshing, and the horchata had just the right amount of sweetness. I also loved that they offer Asian fusion options, which added an exciting twist to the experience. I ordered the bao birria with fries and consommé, and it was my first time trying bao with birria--such a creative and delicious combination! The fries, however, were nothing special. The quesabirria was packed with juicy, flavorful meat, and while the consommé was slightly salty, a squeeze of lime balanced it out perfectly. I also tried the asada torta, and the steak was well-seasoned and full of flavor. I'll definitely be coming back to explore more of their Asian fusion dishes. Parking was plentiful, but since I visited on a Friday night, the place was busy. I waited about 15 minutes for my order, which was reasonable given the crowd. Home of the Birria Ramen , a viral Taco as big as newborn baby. I followed them on IG and quite honestly they have a menu that is tremendously diverse. They have a Mexican pizza a large and a personal size. On a Tuesday lunchtime not a whole lot of people eating inside I basically could select wherever to sit and enjoy my lunch. Plenty of parking next door is a French pastry and TOGOS. They only have one order touch screen looks and another person ready to help you with any other questions you might have . Lots of pickup take out DOORDASH orders. I noticed people come in waves this day . Prices are little above normal for real Mexican food family style restaurant. Takes a little while to get the hang of the kiosks because at first couldn't define what category the oxtails were in , tacos or specialties, the menu is long and there are lots of sub categories which is a pro and a con. I end up ordering 3 oxtail tacos, with churro chocolate syrup and the horchata boba. The oxtail had plenty of meat but they had some fat on them and rubbery texture which I didn't like. The churro wasn't good as they place the 4 of them in a clear beverage plastic cup, they didn't seem fresh and felt a little hard. The horchata boba was my least favorite thing that day maybe it was the flavor and the boba wasn't to my liking . I'll never order those two again personally. Service is really nice and approachable. Place is super clean outside seating too. The instagram reels are cool to watch also. My rule is never order boba type drink from a non boba place. But the rest of the food is epic and traditionally tasteful Mexican pure food. I am gonna review the Mexican pizza and ramen birria next time . The dipping bowl was perfect I drank it like it was a bowl of soup at the end. You can leave your finished basket of food at your table and they will pick it up for you happily. This is a Taqueria that is bustling with business in a little strip mall right behind the Safeway in Dublin plenty of parking and a little bit of outdoor seating.casual dining inside with Aztec inspired art on the walls, service was efficient and fast. The ordering process was easy, the line moved smoothly I ordered the giant Carnitas burrito added, jalapeño, the guacamole, salsa and chips. The burrito was so huge it had to be bent to fit in the long sheet pan it was served in. The carnitas was tender and well seasoned, the guacamole and salsa were delicious, the chips were made in house. Popped in unexpectedly for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised! What a cute taqueria in West Dublin! It's rare to find places that still offer self serve house made chips and salsa but this place does both! We ordered a California chile verde burrito and were impressed by its size and loved its flavors!
