Very disappointed with my experience at Zara. I purchased shoes, shorts, and pants, and honestly the quality was far below expectations. The shoes were extremely uncomfortable and actually hurt my feet after wearing them for a short time. The clothing material also felt cheap and poorly made. When I went back to return the items, the manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping or listening to my concerns, they refused to accept the return and treated me with a disrespectful attitude. Customer service should never make customers feel unwelcome or ignored. For the prices Zara charges, I expected much better quality and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my opinion about the brand. read more

I placed an order for a piece of clothing in person at a ZARA store. Today, I received an official SMS notification from ZARA clearly stating that my item had arrived at the store and was ready for pickup. Based on this message, I went to the store to collect it. At the store, I showed the SMS and pickup code to a staff member. The staff member, whose head was fully covered with cloth leaving only the face visible (I was unable to obtain their name), informed me that there was no information about my order. This was stated without asking for my phone number or email address, and without conducting any further system check. When I asked whether it was necessary to search using my phone number or email, the staff member responded that I was not an employee there and therefore did not understand how their system worked, and insisted that "if there is no information, then there is none." Dismissing a customer's order that was confirmed by an official notification without completing basic verification steps, and responding in a firm and dismissive manner to a reasonable inquiry, is a service experience I find very difficult to accept. This is the first time I have encountered such an experience in my years of shopping around the world. read more

I'm not to wild about this place - no, no, you won't find me here ever - once was enough. Blinding lights. For one thing there are these blinding lights. If you do come your going to want a hat and sunglasses. Its a real uneasy feeling and something in the air and I don't like it. The mens is upstairs with the children's section. The mens department seemed a bit messy and crowded - I found that to be in sharp contrast to the woman's department which was larger and wider aisles. The clothing itself looked great and minimal branding. I was impressed that they even sold shoes.... I just didn't hang around long enough - my eyes!! my eyes!!! First time shopping here and I was so excited to shop here, but unfortunately I was disappointed. Upstairs there's no one on register so we go downstairs to pay. There's two lines one for returns and one for purchases. We were waiting awhile already because there was only one cashier and 4 other people waiting for returns. Basically there's two lines for no reason when they're only helping those in the return line. Luckily a nice lady let us go first but other than that they should be more organized. Another customer asked where the line was and they told her in the return line. Might as well remove the other lane. I'm an assistant manager at another retailer and I would never let my store be run like that :(, especially when I saw the manager walk away when line was forming. Me and my wife bought some pants from Zara for our daughter last Friday, they didn't fit, so we came in to exchange for a bigger size and picked up a few more pants, now that we know what size she wear. Boy oh boy, the black girl in the front counter (refused to give us her name, probably the same black girl from other negative reviews below) start accusing us for taking the tags off and putting it in the pocket. She basically told my wife that she's a liar, the pants were worn and we are returning a worn pants which is against Zara's policy. We were pissed, because she's fkin stupd at that point... Bch, We're exchanging, not returning, and if they were worn, they would fit, wouldn't it? Meanwhile, 2 other black girl, dont know if they knew each other or not, staring at me, wanting to start something. After some verbal exchange, they left. Still, she refused, and asked someone else to step in and handle it. The worst part was her attitude -- dismissive, cold, and clearly irritated. As she walked away, I overheard her mutter something inappropriate under her breath that included the word "f***ing." I was shocked. I came into the store happy, enjoying a nice sunny day, ready to shop, and I left feeling disrespected and disappointed. I usually love Zara for their style and quality, but customer service is a big part of the shopping experience, and this situation left a bad impression. Probably the worse Zara I've ever been to. Their fitting room is always closed!! They would allow full exchange or refund since their fitting room is closed, so I went home, tried it on and it did not fit so now I'm in the return line. I will warn you: the return line is lengthy. Such a ridiculous concept. So inefficient. They had a lady at the fitting room and she had the entrance blocked off because she said the fitting room is closed. It's freaking 5:00PM on a Tuesday. Btw, having two separate lines (one for purchase only and one for purchase/return) is the stupidest setup I have ever seen. Are half of the staff not trained on how to return merch? Or do they need to run two separate systems for purchase and return? What is the point of having people waiting in 2 lines if there is only 1 person working at checkout? I came on the weekend to do a return. There were over 40 people in line. (Yes, I counted & I skipped kids) There were 2 people at the register. I waited in line 15 minutes and I did not move. I came back on a Friday at 11:50am. I've been in line 20 mins. There's several problems here. 1 person is doing returns. 1 person for new sales. There's 2 "lines" with stantions. On them. When you're very close to the front of the line there's a small square sign maybe 9x9". That says "return & exchange" and another that says "purchase only". These sit maybe 3.5-4' high. So basically everyone blocks them. All purchasers get in the main "return line." The dressing room is closed. Further complicating the need to return items that aren't wanted. There's an employee on the "floor" half way rehanging things. There's 5 registers on the main floor only 2 people working them. Upstairs, there's at least 2 more registers. They're never open. Employees do not smile, make eye contact or show any interest. Overall the entire thing feels like a complete disregard for their purchasers time. Zara is not my favorite brand or store. But this one in Pleasanton at the mall has got to be the worst. It's poorly managed and I will not be spending any money here in the future. read more

There's only one product left in the store, and I want to call to confirm if it's available, but it's impossible to contact the store directly--you essentially have to show up in person. I faced a similar issue during Thanksgiving break when there was a technical shortage, and the store was closed. Even after multiple attempts to visit and calling Zara's general customer service, they still had no idea whether the store was open or not. My wife and I were shopping at this store today and an African America/Ethiopian lady associate with a black surgical mask was unpleasant and not willing to assist us. We were looking for a fragrance and only the test bottle was on the store display case. I asked if fragrance was in the stock room only to be told what was on the display case was all they had. I asked if she would look it up and see if it was in stock; which she did with the worst attitude . She said there was (5) smaller bottles not the larger bottles but could not locate them. She finally looked in the bottom drawer in the display case and found (1) large bottle. We advised we would purchase that one and interested in buying the (5) smaller bottles. I asked if she would look only to told again to look on the display case because we didn't look good enough. I simply suggested if she would look again in the drawers because she located the larger bottle and she may have missed the other small bottles. With a hurtful attitude, she raised her voice and said they were not there; which made us feel like we were bothering her. We shop at this store all the time and never experienced this kind of treatment from a Zara associate. I think Zara headquarters need to have a look at this location. First off they list their hours on google map as Sunday : 12pm to 5.45pm :/ That's untrue, all Zara stores on Sunday are open from 11am to 6pm. The staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful, the dressing room closed for no apparent reasons as it seems their is staff roaming around but who doesn't actually seems to work:/ I'm speechless by the way the manager is running this store or managers as this is pretty out of the norm to see a well known brand like Zara being so out of touch. If you look at all my other reviews, I don't leave reviews any for department stores because usually, they're self-sufficient in what they do. This Zara location is an exception because of surprisingly how inefficient and lackluster how the store is managed. Who made the decision to close all fitting rooms for a formal clothes store? This is my second time visiting this Zara location, but reading past reviews show that these fitting rooms have been closed for months. Over 50% of the store has formal clothes for men and women, so why not have them open? I needed to buy dress pants that day and bought two different sizes since the rooms were closed. Instead of having customers try on clothes, you "remind" us saying we can return clothes up to 30 days. That's fine, but that artificially creates a longer line making people wait longer to return or buy clothes. While waiting in line, a lady walked up to the dressing room asking the cashier if she can use the dressing room, and his response was just simply saying they're closed. The blank reaction on her face followed up with, "well, what am I supposed to do?" His robot response of saying there's a 30-day return policy had her walking away disappointed. I don't blame her. After waiting 20 minutes to return the extra clothes I purchased the day prior, two women were purchasing approximately ten items of clothing and the cashier finally finished scanning all the items. As he was about to check out all the items, he made a mistake and said, "oops, I accidentally gave them a 90% discount." This prompted him to radio the manager to override the discount and waste everyone else's time waiting in line. Try avoiding this Zara at all costs. read more

I went to this Zara store to return my online purchase. I have no problem with my return. The sales/service representative was very polite. My one star is for Zara the company itself. After i received the credit to my credit card, I find the amount to be off. I did my calculations and find that Zara tax on the shipping fee. The shipping fee is not much and I'm willing to pay when I don't meet the amount for free shipping. I don't notice the other companies put sales tax on the shipping fee. So be aware. Service: Incredibly slow. A line with about 6 people of head of us took about 17 minutes just to get to the cashier. After that, the service was still really slow, as there was only two gals working on a busy weekend in November with the line piling up. After we finished our transaction, the line was halfway in the store at least 20 people in line. Products: Typical two level store with men's clothing up top women's down below. An assistant manager was called in to press buttons on a new "machine" to start all over with cash. The line, now with 50 or so angry people, was ready to riot. I suggested he open a second register since I didn't want to be caught in the cross-fire. He said, with a smirk as he was working the register, "I'm not a cashier," then laughed in my face and walked away. No one thought it was funny. This review is based on the quick service I received for my online order. I ordered a knit sweater online to pick up here in the store. Ordering process was super easy and the item is ready for pick up within a week. I got an email notifying me that it arrived at the store and there was a QR code that I can show to any store employee to pick up the order. The store was a mess (considering it was after Christmas and there was a sale going on). I saw an employee folding clothes so I went up to her. She was super friendly and efficient! Scanned my QR code, went to the back office area and I got my item in less than 5 mins. The package was nicely packaged with a tissue paper wrapping the sweater. I must say...the quality of the sweater is amazing! It is super soft and for $50, it's actually worth the price. read more

Rarely do I write negative reviews but this was such an appalling experience it's noteworthy. The apathetic nature of the manager and staff is unfortunate. Their manager, Luigi, was completely inept in their ability to help. We needed to do an even exchange on a pair of shoes that were peeling a week and a half after purchase. We had the receipt, the damaged shoes, and the exact shoes for an even swap. Their only response was to have us call customer support and pointed us to a phone number -- there was no one available on the line as it was after hours. Zero resolution - Lack of empathy on their part. It's frustrating when we drive to this location, waited in line, and took all the proper steps to be turned away with no recourse. What a shame. I wish I could give negative stars..I was looking to purchase several bottles of perfume today...they have several different types of vanilla. No one greeted me at all... Just stared at me ... Worst customer service ever! It's literally nonexistent at this specific store. This has happened 3 times already by the way. Let's start off with the fact that they close their doors and top floors 15 minutes before closing time. They close upstairs at 5:45pm and the front door is already half way down. I used to work in retail back in my day and don't remember management ever letting us close sections of the store 15-20 minutes early. The sales clerk was absolutely rude and lack of the enthusiasm to help customers. I was not aware of how to retrieve my lost text message when making a return, and she said to me several times that it was not her responsibility to help me retrieve my receipt, but instead, it was my resposibility to know how to fix this problem, with the attitude like, "This is non my problem". Later on, when I called the customer serivice line, I realized how easy it was to simply take some quick steps on the APP and that made me wonder why she lacked the knowledge to complete such simple task? I went back to the store and told the same sales clerk how easy it actually was to find a lost receipt, but to my surprise, she said to me, "I'm not going to help you" and then walked away from the counter. This was a very shocking and unpleasant experience. She even accused me at one point for being "aggressive" when all I did was asking what to do to figure out the problems. After she walked away, I had to ask someone else in store to complete the refund, and I felt so sorry that my daughter had to witness this unpleasant event. It was supposed to be a pleasant mom-and-daughter shopping day. I really feel Zara needs to select the kind of people who represent the company more carefully. For your information, your store manager did not even look at the product defects. They downright refused the return due to the fact that we have already removed the tags. They asked that we contact customer service which says the same thing. So, nobody even care to look at the defects and act accordingly.
