Very disappointed with my experience at Zara. I purchased shoes, shorts, and pants, and honestly the quality was far below expectations. The shoes were extremely uncomfortable and actually hurt my feet after wearing them for a short time. The clothing material also felt cheap and poorly made. When I went back to return the items, the manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping or listening to my concerns, they refused to accept the return and treated me with a disrespectful attitude. Customer service should never make customers feel unwelcome or ignored. For the prices Zara charges, I expected much better quality and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my opinion about the brand. read more

I'm not to wild about this place - no, no, you won't find me here ever - once was enough. Blinding lights. For one thing there are these blinding lights. If you do come your going to want a hat and sunglasses. Its a real uneasy feeling and something in the air and I don't like it. The mens is upstairs with the children's section. The mens department seemed a bit messy and crowded - I found that to be in sharp contrast to the woman's department which was larger and wider aisles. The clothing itself looked great and minimal branding. I was impressed that they even sold shoes.... I just didn't hang around long enough - my eyes!! my eyes!!! Felt like a police officer behind you during a traffic stop. read more

Me and my wife bought some pants from Zara for our daughter last Friday, they didn't fit, so we came in to exchange for a bigger size and picked up a few more pants, now that we know what size she wear. Boy oh boy, the black girl in the front counter (refused to give us her name, probably the same black girl from other negative reviews below) start accusing us for taking the tags off and putting it in the pocket. She basically told my wife that she's a liar, the pants were worn and we are returning a worn pants which is against Zara's policy. We were pissed, because she's fkin stupd at that point... Bch, We're exchanging, not returning, and if they were worn, they would fit, wouldn't it? Meanwhile, 2 other black girl, dont know if they knew each other or not, staring at me, wanting to start something. After some verbal exchange, they left. Btw, I don't know why they wanted to call security now, she's the obnoxious one, and wants help from a security as soon as I become obnoxious and loud. I guess you can only reason with someone like her by shouting. We've already filed a formal complaint with Zara, If we don't hear from them within 7 days, we will escalate this issue for sure. I ve saw so many customers down below having bad experience with this particular employee. Enough is enough, I m taking this matter seriously and will update you guys. lol, she thinks she can get away with sht.. Nope, not this time! read more

First time shopping here and I was so excited to shop here, but unfortunately I was disappointed. Upstairs there's no one on register so we go downstairs to pay. There's two lines one for returns and one for purchases. We were waiting awhile already because there was only one cashier and 4 other people waiting for returns. Basically there's two lines for no reason when they're only helping those in the return line. Luckily a nice lady let us go first but other than that they should be more organized. Another customer asked where the line was and they told her in the return line. Might as well remove the other lane. I'm an assistant manager at another retailer and I would never let my store be run like that :(, especially when I saw the manager walk away when line was forming. I don't know if I would go back after this experience. read more

Probably the worse Zara I've ever been to. Their fitting room is always closed!! They would allow full exchange or refund since their fitting room is closed, so I went home, tried it on and it did not fit so now I'm in the return line. I will warn you: the return line is lengthy. Such a ridiculous concept. So inefficient. They had a lady at the fitting room and she had the entrance blocked off because she said the fitting room is closed. It's freaking 5:00PM on a Tuesday. If you're standing right there, why not let us in to try on the items? It doesn't make sense. read more

Zara is a relatively recent discovery for me. I like their styles and their clothes fit me well. This location was a little strange. I was there for a while on Saturday afternoon and did not see any employees except one at the register. Not sure if most of them were on break. I left with two bags full of clothes and a smile. read more

I placed an order for a piece of clothing in person at a ZARA store. Today, I received an official SMS notification from ZARA clearly stating that my item had arrived at the store and was ready for pickup. Based on this message, I went to the store to collect it. At the store, I showed the SMS and pickup code to a staff member. The staff member, whose head was fully covered with cloth leaving only the face visible (I was unable to obtain their name), informed me that there was no information about my order. This was stated without asking for my phone number or email address, and without conducting any further system check. When I asked whether it was necessary to search using my phone number or email, the staff member responded that I was not an employee there and therefore did not understand how their system worked, and insisted that "if there is no information, then there is none." Dismissing a customer's order that was confirmed by an official notification without completing basic verification steps, and responding in a firm and dismissive manner to a reasonable inquiry, is a service experience I find very difficult to accept. This is the first time I have encountered such an experience in my years of shopping around the world. read more

Honest Customer Experience at Zara - Disappointed by Rude Service I want to share my recent experience at Zara for those who, like me, rely on reviews to help decide where to shop. I went to Zara to pick up an online order and noticed that the item I had purchased was now on sale in-store for a lower price. Naturally, I asked the cashier if I could return the item and re-purchase it at the new discounted price. She said no, which I respected, so I told her that I might come back tomorrow and check if the item was available on the sales floor. At that point, things took a strange and frustrating turn. She suddenly refused to process my return at all. She told me she couldn't do it because I said I might repurchase it and that doing the return might cost her her job. I calmly explained again that I wanted to return the item now, and what I decided to do afterward should not affect her ability to do her job. Still, she refused, and asked someone else to step in and handle it. The worst part was her attitude -- dismissive, cold, and clearly irritated. As she walked away, I overheard her mutter something inappropriate under her breath that included the word "f***ing." I was shocked. I came into the store happy, enjoying a nice sunny day, ready to shop, and I left feeling disrespected and disappointed. I usually love Zara for their style and quality, but customer service is a big part of the shopping experience, and this situation left a bad impression. I hope Zara takes situations like this seriously. No customer deserves to be treated rudely, especially when they are being polite and reasonable. If you're thinking of shopping here, just be aware -- not every experience may go as smoothly as you'd hope. I recommend double-checking sale prices before you buy and being prepared for inconsistent customer service. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The store had only one person working at checkout, which made the line painfully slow. Btw, having two separate lines (one for purchase only and one for purchase/return) is the stupidest setup I have ever seen. Are half of the staff not trained on how to return merch? Or do they need to run two separate systems for purchase and return? What is the point of having people waiting in 2 lines if there is only 1 person working at checkout? On top of that, the 1 cashier was rude and dismissive, speaking with a nasty attitude the whole time. Very disappointing shopping experience--Zara really needs to improve both staffing and customer service. read more

I came on the weekend to do a return. There were over 40 people in line. (Yes, I counted & I skipped kids) There were 2 people at the register. I waited in line 15 minutes and I did not move. I came back on a Friday at 11:50am. I've been in line 20 mins. There's several problems here. 1 person is doing returns. 1 person for new sales. There's 2 "lines" with stantions. On them. When you're very close to the front of the line there's a small square sign maybe 9x9". That says "return & exchange" and another that says "purchase only". These sit maybe 3.5-4' high. So basically everyone blocks them. All purchasers get in the main "return line." The dressing room is closed. Further complicating the need to return items that aren't wanted. There's an employee on the "floor" half way rehanging things. There's 5 registers on the main floor only 2 people working them. Upstairs, there's at least 2 more registers. They're never open. Employees do not smile, make eye contact or show any interest. Overall the entire thing feels like a complete disregard for their purchasers time. Zara is not my favorite brand or store. But this one in Pleasanton at the mall has got to be the worst. It's poorly managed and I will not be spending any money here in the future. read more

I love Zara but I am getting frustrated. Reaching Zara by phone is incredibly frustrating. There's only one product left in the store, and I want to call to confirm if it's available, but it's impossible to contact the store directly--you essentially have to show up in person. I faced a similar issue during Thanksgiving break when there was a technical shortage, and the store was closed. Even after multiple attempts to visit and calling Zara's general customer service, they still had no idea whether the store was open or not. Tip for management: Please consider creating a direct line to each store so customers can connect with someone to confirm item availability. This would significantly improve customer flow and enhance the shopping experience. read more

If you look at all my other reviews, I don't leave reviews any for department stores because usually, they're self-sufficient in what they do. This Zara location is an exception because of surprisingly how inefficient and lackluster how the store is managed. Who made the decision to close all fitting rooms for a formal clothes store? This is my second time visiting this Zara location, but reading past reviews show that these fitting rooms have been closed for months. Over 50% of the store has formal clothes for men and women, so why not have them open? I needed to buy dress pants that day and bought two different sizes since the rooms were closed. Instead of having customers try on clothes, you "remind" us saying we can return clothes up to 30 days. That's fine, but that artificially creates a longer line making people wait longer to return or buy clothes. While waiting in line, a lady walked up to the dressing room asking the cashier if she can use the dressing room, and his response was just simply saying they're closed. The blank reaction on her face followed up with, "well, what am I supposed to do?" His robot response of saying there's a 30-day return policy had her walking away disappointed. I don't blame her. After waiting 20 minutes to return the extra clothes I purchased the day prior, two women were purchasing approximately ten items of clothing and the cashier finally finished scanning all the items. As he was about to check out all the items, he made a mistake and said, "oops, I accidentally gave them a 90% discount." This prompted him to radio the manager to override the discount and waste everyone else's time waiting in line. Try avoiding this Zara at all costs. read more

My wife and I were shopping at this store today and an African America/Ethiopian lady associate with a black surgical mask was unpleasant and not willing to assist us. We were looking for a fragrance and only the test bottle was on the store display case. I asked if fragrance was in the stock room only to be told what was on the display case was all they had. I asked if she would look it up and see if it was in stock; which she did with the worst attitude . She said there was (5) smaller bottles not the larger bottles but could not locate them. She finally looked in the bottom drawer in the display case and found (1) large bottle. We advised we would purchase that one and interested in buying the (5) smaller bottles. I asked if she would look only to told again to look on the display case because we didn't look good enough. I simply suggested if she would look again in the drawers because she located the larger bottle and she may have missed the other small bottles. With a hurtful attitude, she raised her voice and said they were not there; which made us feel like we were bothering her. We shop at this store all the time and never experienced this kind of treatment from a Zara associate. Please be careful when asking a Zara associate to help you locate an item because they may make you feel unwelcome. 8/21/25 receipt number 112402 read more

I think Zara headquarters need to have a look at this location. First off they list their hours on google map as Sunday : 12pm to 5.45pm :/ That's untrue, all Zara stores on Sunday are open from 11am to 6pm. The staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful, the dressing room closed for no apparent reasons as it seems their is staff roaming around but who doesn't actually seems to work:/ I'm speechless by the way the manager is running this store or managers as this is pretty out of the norm to see a well known brand like Zara being so out of touch. It's very uncharacteristic of the brand to let this be. I encourage unsatisfied customers to take few mins to complain on the website or customer service number. If anyone has more time to email the Spain headquarter which is really good at investigating worldwide stores. read more

Clean, tidy, and modern interior, but customer service is once again non existent. The store was well stocked, lots of products, but the one aspect that was missing was all the employees! Service: Incredibly slow. A line with about 6 people of head of us took about 17 minutes just to get to the cashier. After that, the service was still really slow, as there was only two gals working on a busy weekend in November with the line piling up. After we finished our transaction, the line was halfway in the store at least 20 people in line. Products: Typical two level store with men's clothing up top women's down below. Lots of in style clothing from jackets, pants, and winter coats. Well priced items for the quality. Overall: Customer service needs work, if you want no lines and nit have to wait 15+ mins to be helped, arrive right when they open! read more

Zara's inability to "hold" items is stupid. The employees, both men and women are rude and condescending as well. At least from today 8/26. Love this brand, but today put a bad taste in my mouth. Just shop online. The fitting rooms were closed too? The shipping fee is not much and I'm willing to pay when I don't meet the amount for free shipping. I don't notice the other companies put sales tax on the shipping fee. So be aware. 1 cashier for an entire store this size isn't enough. After standing in line for a long time, I was told "the machine" doesn't accept cash. There is only one machine! An assistant manager was called in to press buttons on a new "machine" to start all over with cash. The line, now with 50 or so angry people, was ready to riot. I suggested he open a second register since I didn't want to be caught in the cross-fire. He said, with a smirk as he was working the register, "I'm not a cashier," then laughed in my face and walked away. No one thought it was funny. We are well past the limits of acceptable behavior with Zara's gaslighting, cult-like staff that refutes basic humanity. Fire them all. read more

This review is based on the quick service I received for my online order. I ordered a knit sweater online to pick up here in the store. Ordering process was super easy and the item is ready for pick up within a week. I got an email notifying me that it arrived at the store and there was a QR code that I can show to any store employee to pick up the order. The store was a mess (considering it was after Christmas and there was a sale going on). I saw an employee folding clothes so I went up to her. She was super friendly and efficient! Scanned my QR code, went to the back office area and I got my item in less than 5 mins. The package was nicely packaged with a tissue paper wrapping the sweater. I must say...the quality of the sweater is amazing! It is super soft and for $50, it's actually worth the price. read more

Zara does not accept returns after 30 days, even at the holidays when this timeframe is nearly impossible. The store clerk told me to connect online for my return, but I got caught in an AI loop of preset answers and no help. Customer service especially the one at the register is the worst. While i came to return an item and i just asked what is price is it returning with. The cashier got angry and started saying bad words about me and my culture. Pointing out things which i would have never heard by any cashier ever in my life. I would recommend a complete swap of the employees there. First of all it is so hard to find anyone for help on the store and then they have 2 floor Zara and out of which only one register is open out of six there in place. If anyone is going to this Zara location i would recommend just keep your mind open as you never know which sale assistant might comment you on something. Rarely do I write negative reviews but this was such an appalling experience it's noteworthy. The apathetic nature of the manager and staff is unfortunate. Their manager, Luigi, was completely inept in their ability to help. We needed to do an even exchange on a pair of shoes that were peeling a week and a half after purchase. We had the receipt, the damaged shoes, and the exact shoes for an even swap. Their only response was to have us call customer support and pointed us to a phone number -- there was no one available on the line as it was after hours. Zero resolution - Lack of empathy on their part. It's frustrating when we drive to this location, waited in line, and took all the proper steps to be turned away with no recourse. What a shame. A little bit goes a long way. There could've been steps taken as we dealt with the manager and staff. Apathetic. Poor training. Terrible hire. read more

Firstly, I am glad Zara opened here so it saves me the hassles of traveling to other locations.. It is a big store, organized, ok staff (can definitely be better like the other stores around). My only problem is the collection.. 1/5 instances I would grab something that would have threads coming off from fabric or the buttons are loose and then they never have enough pieces of small sizes! That definitely puts me off because now I have to resort to online options or go to another Zara! Usually the staff at the counter are friendly and helpful! Most of the time they are out of sizes and it's difficult to find staff on the floor to help you out so we end up walking away. I hope it gets better! read more

Worst customer service ever! It's literally nonexistent at this specific store. This has happened 3 times already by the way. Let's start off with the fact that they close their doors and top floors 15 minutes before closing time. They close upstairs at 5:45pm and the front door is already half way down. I used to work in retail back in my day and don't remember management ever letting us close sections of the store 15-20 minutes early. From now on I'll be shopping online and will avoid this Zara at all costs. Do yourself a favor and go to the Zara at Broadway center in Walnut Creek! Way better selection and service. read more

Absolutely atrocious service and beyond rude. I had an exchange to make, and ended up in the wrong line. I didn't think it was a big deal because there only myself and one other person in the purchase line and in the exchange line.. When it was my turn to make the exchange, the cashier said that I was in the wrong line (and by then a small line of 3-4 customers had formed after me). I told her that I realized that after the fact and there was only one other person in line with me at the time so I didn't think it was a big deal. She proceeded to roll eyes and tell me to get back in the other line. I asked her if she was serious because she clearly saw me standing in line way before everybody else. She said that she didn't see me and so I needed to move back to the end of the line. I ended up wasting 10 to 15 minutes and being the LAST person after the entire line of finished. When it was my turn, the cashier immediately walked away before I could come to the register and came back with the "manager". (Not sure why when I didn't say anything to her.) Then the manager came over and decided to join in on my return and speak to me in such a rude and condescending tone (I needed assistance finding my order number), it was shocking to say the least especially from a manager. Rude and defensive behavior all around from both of them. It's the presumptuous attitude that's unsettling. Maybe an explanation or even trying to be a little kinder would have make the experience better. I get that I made an honest mistake, but why roll your eyes and give such attitude then bring the manager over to also belittle and talk down to me? read more

I'm having a tough time picking a star rating for this location. I do love Zara; we've been shopping Zara overseas for years and were very excited when they came to the states. I think my rating for this location would be 2.5 stars. The lines are always so long and the level of customer service is very hit or miss. Lines get so long; I believe because of their large number of returns. Personally, I tend to order online and then return what I don't want to keep at this location. Pre-Covid, I would try stuff on in the store and then order what they didn't have my size in. Since Covid, their dressing rooms still have not reopened, so everyone is buying items and then needing to return. The Walnut Creek store has their dressing rooms open, and the line is not at all what it is in Pleasanton. After waiting in line, you would at least expect your cashier to be friendly. That is completely hit or miss here. I found items I wanted to purchase and waited in line, the cashier was less than friendly, didn't even greet me when I came to the register, and barely said anything when my transaction was complete. As I was leaving, I found an item that my daughter said she was looking for. I checked to see if it was available online, but it was not, so I grabbed it and headed back to the line. The line had gotten longer, so the wait was a bit on the crazy side now. Every single person in front of me was doing a return/exchange. The second cashier at least apologized for the wait and was pretty friendly and efficient. The store was clearly understaffed today, 2 cashiers working, and one person trying to stock items. The store was very messy today (at 10:30 am) and lots of empty spots. A third cashier (the friendly one who helped me the second time) showed up after I'd been in line awhile. I hope this store will soon reopen their dressing rooms which hopefully would reduce the number of returns happening and reduce the lines. Things to note when shopping with Zara: They are very strict about their return policy....don't be even a day late! No price adjustments. If you purchase an item and it goes on sale the next day, it's better to just return the more expensive one and order the sale price on line. read more
