I guess you can't give a zero star rating so going with one star so I can post my experience. I had a vaccination shot appointment with the pharmacy today for my mother who is 90. There was a guy sitting in a chair right next to the counter who had unfiltered rap music blasting and who was constantly coughing, wheezing and belching without any attempt to cover up. Staff didn't seem to care. The woman who waited on us was unprofessionally dressed, hard to understand and had no clue what she was doing. After waiting at the counter for 15 minutes to get my mom checked in, we just left. The place is a complete sh*t hole, very dirty and unwelcoming. This used to be a nice store but not to worry, there is a CVS across the street who will be getting 100% of my business from now on. read more

WARNING: Don't deal with this chain! They don't keep certain medicines in stock, they have all of these stupid rules associated with obtaining allergy medicine and pain medication. You have to run around to find which Walgreens has the pain medicine in stock, they do not allow you to just call and inquire over the phone, instead they insist a person who is recovering from surgery to run in and out of a pharmacy while in pain. I have been filling my prescription for about 2 years + from this Walgreens location . But in the last year, the pharmacy has become terribly disorganized. Last week, I was on the phone with the pharmacy for an hour and a half and they disconnected me twice. Then I spoke to Walgreens manager who called the Pharmacy manager who then apologized, for the medication which should have been auto-filled. I take medication every month, they have been asked to put them on auto-fill several times, so that I don't have to call the pharmacy every month, making life easier for me and the pharmacy staff. This Walgreens is conveniently located in the Clayton Station parking lot with Safeway, Starbucks, Carl's Jr, Subway, Little Caesars, and other services and food. They are usually supplied pretty well, except for those first few weeks of the COVID quarantine. Prices can be hit or miss, but I think for the most part they are middle of the road. I've found that you can usually find equivalent items cheaper on Amazon, but the problem is, you would have to wait for shipping time with Amazon, and here, you can pick it up right away! The staff is nice and friendly, but not always the quickest moving. I ordered a poster here for my husband's birthday and it took at least 7-10 mins for them to find it, and at one point it seemed like they were going to just 100% give up. I ended up getting it in the end, but thay was a frustrating experience because I was waiting there for about 10 mins helping them to find my package (I had the order shipped to their location for free). Overall, I finally got it and this is a good location to have nearby for any of those weird requests or needs you might have in your daily life. Horrible service! Went to drop off a fedex package and stood at the photo booth (where packages are dropped off for a good 10 if not 15 minutes. Employees see me there, look straight at me, and don't come over. Instead they chit chat with each other and walk off. Unbelievable. They only finally come over when I start talking loud enough on the phone that they can hear me talking about what's going on and how ridiculous it is. Then a manager (I think it was) who was twiddling his thumbs for who knows how long, finally comes over with attitude. (Smh. He needs a new job away from people.) He acts like it's a problem to accept the package then refuses to give me a receipt; tells me if I want a receipt I have to go to the postal annex up the way. I take my package and go. Would not recommend this location to anyone. Would instead recommend some "house keeping". read more

This is by FAR the WORST managed pharmacy that I have ever dealt with. Its been 2 weeks (8/26) since I ordered a refill which would be the 2nd refil out of 3 and when I called 4 days ago for the nth time to hear about its status i was told there is an issue and they will contact the doctor. Three days later after having heard nothing from the Pharmacy I call them again and now am told I should give a call to the doctor's office myself bc the nurse is not responding. Apparently that nurse which I know for years always responds within 30 min. Nevertheless I emailed the nurse and she said my medication will be ready for pick up today. I call back the Pharmacy and going through the voice mail & I arranged to pick up the medication next day. 45 min later I get an email from Walgreens that the medication is OUT OF STOCK...I call back Walgreens to be told it would be available on 9/13. Today I called again and was told they do not really know when they will get the medication bc of delays from manufacturer.. I wonder...Is there a manager at that Pharmacy ? read more

Update*. I've dropped it from two stars to one and would give it none if possible. Service has gotten worse and I've spent 30 minutes trying to call them. My husband went to pick up a prescription half and hour after it was called in. After waiting 40 minutes someone came to tell him they didn't even have the medication in stock and won't get it until tomorrow. I tried to call to see if they had called around to other Walgreens and cannot get anyone to answer the phone. We will use CVS Pharmacy from now on. I'm not sure what has happened with this store, and especially the pharmacy, but it has to be he worst pharmacy in the area now. Prescriptions take forever, and there is alway a line that just seems to get longer. The lines are longer, the employees are rude, except for Sherman and a couple of other people who have been there....(thank god).. Customer service in photo department is not good. I went there to take passport photo of my son. Lady said I have to wait until the customer who uses the computer leaves for her to process. I waited more than 15 min and she said it's her off time and said someone else will come take a pic. I was waiting again. Just before the other lady comes another customer started using the computer. The other lady said the same thing that I have to wait, that's very unfortunate they have one computer for them and the customers. And none of them didn't seem wanting to help me. Often there will be a long line of customers waiting for their medication and only one person on register which is ridiculous. And the store has stopped carrying my favorite vitamins! Karen, Natalie and Sherman are just amazing people. So helpful. My college daughter was having difficulty getting a drug that requires blood work and prior authorization, monthly, each month for six months. These three went out of their way each time I called and stopped in to try and research the issue and help me solve it. Natalie at the front was so patient and reassuring; Karen ordered the drug even while we were still waiting for it to go through with our insurance and held it for us, and Sherman called me personally on my cell to let me know it went through. Yes the line can be very long and yes be prepared to be on hold but I do not think this is the fault of the staff. They are absolutely lovely. Because I had to wait in the line in full one day they kindly and graciously let my daughter pick it up directly at the front when it was finally ready - and the hold up was most definitely NOT the fault of the pharmacy but miscommunication between us and the doctor's office. I don't know what's happening to all the Walgreen's in the past couple of years. This is why I've switched my pharmacy business to CVS. This Walgreens needs help. The wait time on the phone to the pharmacy is way too long. The techs are incompetent. They tell you that they will process an order but forget to do it. I have to follow up with the doctor and the insurance company to get the job done. You ask these people questions and they act dumb. I mean, come on, this is not a high traffic location. It shouldn't take that much time and effort to make the place run smoothly. I'm tired of wasting time with them. Also, I think granny at the front counter needs to retire. She looks like she's 90 years old and moves so slowly, you want to grab the items and bag them yourself so you can get the hell out of there. read more

Unlike SF, where you can find a Walgreens on every corner, there are only a couple in other cities. I like Walgreens because they offer a lot of things other drugstores don't carry and they have really good coupons and sales some times. This location is in need of a remodel if it's going to compare to other drugstores such as the newly remodeled Longs across the street and all the Targets around. The store in Clayton has always been fine. It's the pharmacy that has been going downhill the past couple of years. I've been out of a medication that had another refill until 10/2021 and they said they needed another doctor's ok. Two weeks later, I saw the doctor who had re-prescribed the medication right in front of me. Now it's been another 3 days & this Walgreens said they are waiting for the doctor. I'm done. Looking to drive to another Walgreens that hopefully has more common sense. Their mail-order prescriptions are even worse. read more

Horrible experience and extended time of wait with limited counter assistance at this pharmacy is a norm for this location. Today the pharmacist was extremely slow and there were nearly 12 people in the line waiting at one point. There is just absolutely no care of the employees here when it comes to customer experience. I will be switching to CVS, where they have more employees to assist. If Walgreens management is reading this review, they should act on increasing their focus on Customer experience daily and retain their customers rather than losing them. Walgreens in general is a complete joke! Every time I need to fill my Rx that is a monthly prescription i run into problems. This particular time I went to the railroad location who when I drove there to pick it up they told me they were out of it mind u I drove there from Tracy bc of my insurance I have to fill it in this county. No phone call then they tell me to have my Rx transferred to another pharmacy bc I am leaving for vacation tomorrow for 3 weeks and need it. I then found out it isn't transferable so I called my doctor who was off work and so I had to wait until tomorrow as in today and I drove all the way out to Clayton to pick it up as I had something to do out here anyways today and my doctor had previously called it in and made sure they had it and that it went thru with my insurance and they said yes. I drove 51 mins to get here and they couldn't find my Rx and also I'm now late for my plans and will be missing it entirely which was why I came out here in the first place. I am so irritated and now they found my Rx but r trying to tell me it costs money when it's always 100% covered always. Then the guy tells me he needs my insurance information like wtf why don't u have it when I pick up from Walgreens every time. I was directed here by Safeway for my sons prescriptions and this place has terrible customer service. I called them to let them know they needed to call Safeway because the preschool needed to transfer over and the girl on the phone didn't understand a word I was saying or she wasn't paying attention. She kept getting my sons DOB wrong and his name and our address I even had to spell it out very slowly with letters like a as in apple, more than a few times! So frustrating. Then she said she was creating a profile for when they got his medication and she said she would call me back. I receive no call back after a few hours so I call them asking the status of the prescription and this other girl answers and starts telling me another customer's prescription order and telling me they're ready for pickup omg I was so pissed because if they lack in privacy I can't imagine in what else they lack. So I nicely still and calmly told her she had the wrong person and that I was calling for my son, gave her his name DOB again and my phone number she still couldn't find it then I explained again the situation and still she couldn't find it. She put me on hold and after about 15 minutes of holding she said she would call me back in an hr and I said what do you mean can't I get and update on his prescription status and she said yea well we've been busy we will call you back in an hr I stated to her my son needs his prescription I've been at this all day what's going on? And she repeated we will call you back in an hr and then hung up on me. SO RUDE NO PRIVACY AGAINST HIPPA LAWS THEY DO NOT FOLLOW HIPPA AND THEY DO NOT GET BACK TO TOU. This place doesn't know how do orders on time. I ordered business cards for same day pickup. When I got a conformation email saying they were ready at 9:35am and to pickup at 11:35am. So I went to pick them up around 1pm and when I went they weren't even cut yet so they said to come back in an hour. So when I came back around 3pm to get them they were all cut wrong. They were cut cutting half of the information off so the cards were useless. Then they said to come back the next day and they'll be ready the next day. So I come back the next day and they weren't ready or even started. So again I was told to come back the next day and the same thing happened!!! So now It's been the 5th day of waiting for these same day pick up business card. So I call the store instead of wasting more gas and time. They say they don't have them and they aren't even printed so this nice man on the phone prints them and cuts them out and says come pick them up tomorrow. So on the 6TH DAY OF WAITING for same day pick up I finally call to make sure they're there to go get them. We tried to talk to the manager about maybe a discount for them making me drive back and forth for 6 DAYS but no. They don't even give me a discount. So they made me pay full price and didn't even care that they made me waste all of this time and gas driving back and forth to come pick up these business cards that they kept telling me were ready and even sending me emails saying they were ready when they weren't even made!!!!! No one was at or near the register at all and I watched a frustrated man walk out with out paying because no one was any where to be seen and he certainly wasn't going to be stoped. Never had any issues with customer service until today. Met Levida who I think is fairly new. She was unfriendly and rude. She was telling me where to stand at the register, and even questioned me if "I need[ed] something" as I stood at the register while she bagged my items. If I could give Zero stars I would. I thought Walgreens was all about customer service ? Who in the world trained Rosanna in customer service. I was standing in what was a mile long line in pharmacy and they called for help and she walked right over to the counter and yelled I can't help you and walked away and rolled her eyes. This is very poor service. After finally getting my prescription I asked the technician who that woman was and come to find out she is a manager !!!!! And the icing on top when I was walking down an aisle to leave the store and she was in the middle of an aisle and I politely said excuse me and she didn't even bother to look up and acknowledge a customer right in front of her and she sighed as if I was inconveniencing her.
