My contracted hair and makeup artist decided to bail last minute 2 weeks out from my wedding date and the only person I trusted to do my makeup was Manda! She responded promptly and I owe her so much for saving the day. My mom and aunt also got their makeup done by her and they still talk about how great their makeup looked! I would also like to add that my wedding was completely outdoors and was over 100 degrees that day! My makeup stayed in place all day and night through all the sweat and happy tears! From the get go, communication was great and she was super flexible after our photographer had to change dates. She came to our house and was prompt and incredibly sweet. She did such a great job! She was able to really enhance their beauty, yet still keep them looking natural and not too heavily made up. We had a 2-hour makeup lesson where we did my makeup from start to finish. She did half my face and then I would practice on the other side so she could correct pressure, application, etc. She is a great teacher, very patient and makes you feel very comfortable! She also integrated some of my existing products and brushes, which I loved! I was hoping to refresh my everyday look and the final look was exactly what I was hoping for! She also taught me a few tricks to help elevate for a going out look. After the lesson, she emailed me detailed notes about the application and which additional brushes and products I could add into my existing routine. When someone I'm not familiar with does my makeup I'm usually pretty uncomfortable because I don't know how their work will turn out. The moment I sat down in Lauren's chair she welcomed me and made me feel very comfortable! That was a huge plus for me. I let her know that I have sensitive skin, so I'm always cautious with makeup. She tended to my needs. She asked me questions about what I normally wear for foundation since I have sensitive skin she explained the products that she would use on my face and told me that if my makeup starts to feel itchy let her know, but my makeup never itched. She's so talented! The look that she did on my face she came with on the spot, like five minutes before she started my face. She was able to bring the vision she saw to life on my face through her great makeup. Throughout the time Lauren was doing my makeup we were able to converse and get to know a little more about one another. She was able to hold a conversation while creating awesome work. I'm glad that I was able to not only meet Lauren, but allow this talented young woman to create such a beautiful look on my face for the fashion show. Also, I received SO MANY wonderful compliments on my makeup that night. I was so satisfied with Lauren's work that I reached out to her last week for her to do my makeup for my photoshoot. I had no specific look in mind, as far as makeup for my photoshoot, but Lauren was able to come up with a look that I was so happy with! I enjoy working with her because she always includes the client. She asked me how did I want my makeup, what look am I going for and also showed me options to better get an idea. I appreciate that because I've worked with makeup artists before and I can tell them/ show them how I would like for my makeup to be, and when I see the finished look I am dissatisfied. Lauren listens, she takes instructions and does what you want. If she sees something that may suit you better she will not tell you that what you want doesn't look right, but give a reason and an example for what might work better for you in a polite manner.
