Unprofessional and rude interaction I called to ask a couple of simple questions about their microneedling offer on Groupon, specifically how many passes are typically done and how long the treatment usually takes. Sara, the owner, immediately replied in an irritated tone, repeating "it depends" several times. When I asked what she meant, she said, "It depends on the body, if you're 200 pounds or 300 pounds." !!! I thought she didn't understand that I was talking about face micro-needling, so I said, "Ma'am, I'm talking about the face micro-needling." She replied, "Yes, I know," but stayed defensive and dismissive. I politely asked if that was how they normally speak to clients, she became defensive and said I was the first client since 2016 to ever ask such questions as if that justified her attitude. I stayed calm throughout, but she continued sounding angry and dismissive. I ended the call feeling genuinely shocked by how unprofessional and disrespectful the interaction was. I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable trusting someone with my face after that kind of response. read more

I've been off Yelp for forever, but I had to get on here and leave my props before the New Year rolls around! I hadn't been on Groupon in quite some time, but I was looking for local Hifu treatments and found Spa by Sara. I gave her a call, and she was very attentive and seemed like she knew what she was doing. So, if memory serves me right, we booked our appointment for sometime in early September. First things first, it's located near the main area of Walnut Creek. I'm really not an expert on the town but it's definitely nestled in the bustling, cutsey area. You could spend an afternoon shopping, get a treatment, and get dinner afterward. Next, my treatment was absolutely amazing. She listened to me, took such careful care, and since it was our first treatment together, used the perfect settings that didn't cause any stinging or discomfort. She also knew a lot about the technology and seemed like she was well-trained up. Not to mention, she is super pleasant, and the 45 minutes just flew by. I'm looking forward to my next treatment with her and hope that she becomes my regular for this and more. Highly recommend! read more

I went to Sara's shop 2-wks ago for a HIFU treatment that I saw advertised on Groupon. I have heard from others who have had this treatment that it was a bit painful (it uses high intensity ultrasound, heat), results showed right away, and one even said she needed to take a pain killer once home. During my treatment (face and neck), I felt no heat at all, in fact I felt absolutely 'nothing'. I mentioned this to Sara during treatment and asked if this was 'normal'? She said each person is different (blah, blah) and not to worry. After I got home I was worried abt that, I've had other heat related treatments before (not HIFU) and I felt the heat! But the temp of the tool was cool, like just room temperature. I texted her saying I really didn't think the machine was working and would she check it? She came back with a series of texts all saying her machine always works well, that her clients love the treatment, etc. I then sent her a before and after pic to prove my point, you could see no improvement at all - not even a little. I told her I would like a refund (I would have accepted a 2nd treatment free of charge but she never offered), to which she sent another series of texts claiming there are thousands of machines and they all work differently, some people have high pain tolerance (not me), etc. etc. Bottom line, she wasn't offering to do anything - not even do a check on her machine! She told me it can take up to 3 months for full results. Now, others I spoke to said I should see SOME type of improvement immediately, and Sara seemed to support that because she was raving about the 'amazing results' I'm getting already based on the pics I sent her! WTH?? So... I am going to keep on top of this! I will continue to take a pic (using same lighting as the others) and send to her. If I do start to see even minor improvements, I will update my review. But as of right now, I am seriously disappointed in Sara's refusal to make even the smallest effort and especially for raving abt good results I've not gotten even up to today. read more

I just had the most amazing facial experience. It was one of the most relaxing facials I've had. I came out feeling pampered and my skin looked refreshed.
