She tended to my needs. She asked me questions about what I normally wear for foundation since I have sensitive skin she explained the products that she would use on my face and told me that if my makeup starts to feel itchy let her know, but my makeup never itched. She's so talented! The look that she did on my face she came with on the spot, like five minutes before she started my face. I'm glad that I was able to not only meet Lauren, but allow this talented young woman to create such a beautiful look on my face for the fashion show. Also, I received SO MANY wonderful compliments on my makeup that night. I was so satisfied with Lauren's work that I reached out to her last week for her to do my makeup for my photoshoot. I had no specific look in mind, as far as makeup for my photoshoot, but Lauren was able to come up with a look that I was so happy with! I enjoy working with her because she always includes the client. She asked me how did I want my makeup, what look am I going for and also showed me options to better get an idea. I appreciate that because I've worked with makeup artists before and I can tell them/ show them how I would like for my makeup to be, and when I see the finished look I am dissatisfied. I am Shelley Baker and as the new owner of The Frontier Salon I'd like to tell you a bit about myself. I am a retired school teacher of 26 years as well as a hairdresser with years of experience and recently purchased The Frontier salon, which became both a dream and a challenge. I was ready however to begin a new and exciting adventure. The first time I stepped into the Frontier Salon I knew this was the place, I not only fell in love with it but the quaint town itself. The Frontier is, I'm happy to report, up and running nicely, moving forward with both client and, local business as well as recognition from our local CBCA. This is much appreciated and we're continuing to make improvements to make The Frontier your one stop beauty salon. We've added an updated virtual office and communications system giving clients more choices with making appointments .Bill Martin a local business man with On Demand IT Solutions, 24/7 Business Connections has done a great job. In addition we've added a beauty supply and welcome all to come for both your products as well as your beauty needs. Finally we're happy to have on board new stylists as well as a new nail technician. Additionally we have a massage therapist on board to add to our repertoire of nail services , make-up and skin care. That said I am very excited to have taken ownership of The Frontier Salon and happy to added these new services.. With my 30 years experience in the beauty business, I feel fortunate to have landed here and work with these wonderful and talented health and beauty experts as well as grateful to my loyal clientele and feel blessed with every new client who walks through our door . read more

I cant say enough about how happy I am with my cut/color! I have been bouncing between Changes and Thirteen in Walnut for close to 10 years. I was always satisfied with my cuts but never super impressed. My last cut I was really unhappy with and decided to try something new. Since I had never been to Frontier I decided to walk in and check it out. Shelly was there and explained she was the brand new owner. We chatted for a while and I decided to make an appointment for the next week. I am so happy I made that decision. The most impressive part of the whole experience was the consultation. She spent about a half hour understanding what it was I wanted. When I was having trouble describing what I wanted she grabbed magazines and really took her time until we were on the same page. We went for the "Sarah Hyland"! ;) My cut is AMAZING! I get so many compliments- its my favorite cut I have had in as long as I can remember. Also, at the end she FULLY styled it- curling iron and all. I NEVER had that at my other salons. Maybe (maybe) they would have done it if I asked, but they certainly never offered like Shelly did. And that meant I knew how to style it when I got home- and she gave me tips and techniques while curling it. I ended up booking a follow up appointment for color. When I showed up she had the magazine back out from last time with the color we discussed. Once again she took time to speak with me to understand what exactly I wanted and once again she styled and curled my hair at the end! I am so happy I have finally found a stylist that I love! read more

I have been going to Frontier Hair Salon for 11+ years. What I find so endearing is the Steel Magnolias environment. Love it. That is what Clayton is all about. Going back to the comment from the woman that "peeled out in the parking lot". I was there when she walked in. Two hair dressers were not there. The other one was in back getting some product ready. The other two hair dressers were actually cutting hair! If she had been going there for a year she knows there is not a receptionist. Use your voice and let them know your there! This lady walked in. Did not say a word. Sat there for 1/2 hour and left without ever addressing anyone. Mean while everyone is talking about life...not gossiping. Yes a hair dresser did go out there to ask her who she was waiting for and to help her. Poor girl almost got ran over by grouchy lady peeling out in the parking lot! Really what was wrong with asking for help.? God gave us a voice use it. It called communication. I love my hair dresser. I get what I want each and every time. The girls are wonderful and friendly. Everyone of them...including Rick! Remember people they don't have a receptionist...you may need to talk to someone when you walk in. Just sayin' read more

My stylist at Frontier Salon, Magali, is an absolute miracle worker. She colors my roots, refreshes my overall color, and cuts my hair -- and every single time, the results are flawless. She has an incredible eye for detail and truly listens to what I want, then somehow makes it even better than I imagined. My color always comes out rich, dimensional, and natural, and my haircut grows out beautifully. Before my son's wedding, she designed several hairstyles for me so I could choose the best one based on the weather. Beyond her talent, Magali is warm, patient, and genuinely cares about me. I always leave her feeling confident, polished, and taken care of. She's the kind of stylist you stay loyal to for life. Magali has also done some fantastic upgrades to the Frontier salon. The salon is spotless, beautifully designed, and has such a calm, inviting atmosphere. It has a much lighter feeling because of the warm colors she has chosen for this redesign. I have been going to Shelley for quite a few years now. She has always done an excellent job on my hair - and I ask for a lot! I dye my hair different colors to match the seasons (it's orange and purple right now - Halloween/Fall). Shelly is not afraid to try new things - and sometimes I'm not exactly sure what I want, but she comes up with an idea, and BAM - just what I was thinking, but couldn't put into words! I found Mildred on a Google search. Her work looked awesome and I was excited to make an…read moreappointment with her. She was able to see me pretty quickly. My hair was so bad when I came to Mildred. I had this wash in red color that was all uneven. Mildred took the red out then dyed my hair ash blonde, and then did a balayage in another blonde to add dimension. Mildred spent six hours on my hair. When I was finished I looked like a whole new person. She told me the color just needed to be touched up every six months, but that I need to come for the toner every six to eight weeks. Mildred is located in Sola Salon Suites. Her suite is beautifully decorated. I will be making my next appointment. Thank you Mildred I feel like a new person!

I have long and thick hair so it's not always the easiest to work with but she was able to texturize it and now my hair is light and bouncy ~ she also does a fantastic color when I need my look updated . It's always a relaxing and pampering experience when I get my hair done with her .
