Located inside The Hangar. Delicious, super tender beef and the garlic rice is so good. Was working in the area and was able to expense my food so went all out with the Wagyu skewer. Sooo good, but I think the Harami may be just as good and tender. They also have happy hour where a few items (like the garlic rice bowl and Wagyu skewer) are a couple bucks off. I've eaten at the Hangar twice and chose Wagyu street both times. The cashier is also super friendly and our food was ready quick!

I had a really good experience here. Is it the cheapest option? No. But overall, the vibe is great and the food is super solid. I've been here a couple times, and my visits are highlighted be how nice the workers are here. I've never felt out of place in a place that sells food that makes me feel out of place. And that says a lot.

My daughter is a very picky eater and loved it here. The meat was juicy and the rice was cooked to perfection. I got the Wagyu Sukiyaki Beef bowl. Service was great and friendly! We got our food very fast too!

Smoke Chicken Teriyaki Bento with Garlic Pepper Rice

I always passed by this place in The Hangar, but I never got the chance to try it until now! I ordered the Build Your Own Bento Box with Smoke Chicken Teriyaki, Garlic Pepper Rice, Smoke Teriyaki Sauce, and Spicy Garlic Sauce, and a Matcha Moringa Soy Latte. The Bento Box looks amazing. There's sides of purple bean sprouts, cucumbers, and red pickled radish. There's also mixed greens under the chicken, along with a banana leaf. The food was great, the rice seemed popular among reviewers and it's popular for a reason, it's not too salty, and it's a good amount of garlicky. The chicken doesn't have enough teriyaki sauce on it, but they do give you a side of it which is great. The sides are all delicious and go along well with the rice and chicken. The spicy garlic sauce tastes like typical spicy sauce from Asian restaurants. They also give you a cute packet of Kewpie Mayonnaise. The Matcha Moringa Soy Latte is good if you're not expecting it to taste like a regular matcha latte. It's very sweet compared to regular matcha lattes, but you can still taste the matcha flavor. It's not too milky or creamy. The employees were very kind. He was very helpful when I asked how big the bento boxes were and what sauces he recommended. Wagyu Street is located in The Hangar which is a food hall so it's always pretty noisy and depending on the time and day, it can get difficult to find seating. I think I would come here again, there's a lot of interesting things on the menu that I'm curious about!

Great spot for a quick bite! The wagyu was super flavorful and tender. Portions were just right, and the service was friendly. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

Really enjoyed Wagyu Street! The meat was tender and packed with flavor -- you can tell the quality is there. Everything was well-seasoned, and the portions were satisfying without being too heavy. Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely come back!

Amazing beef bowls. Totally underestimated them to be honest. The house bbq sauce is a perfect companion to the beef. Its basically a yoshinoya on steroids.. I wish there were more places like this. You can tell the quality of beef used as well

    American Wagyu Sukiyaki Beef Sub

Was at the craft fair this Sunday at The Hangar and decided to try this place out for lunch. The place was packed, but the line to place my order wasn't bad at all as I was second in line. The staff member who took my order wasn't very friendly. I ordered the American wagyu sukiyaki sub and was given a buzzer to alert me when my order was ready. The beef was very flavorful and tender. It came with some sort of purple sauce ( not sure what it was, but had a sweet/ slight spicy taste). This gave the sub a very interesting taste. 4 stars because my order seemed like it took forever and the burnt part of bread. Be prepared to search for parking if you visit on a Sunday. Parking was pretty bad, we parked by the TJmaxx and walked which was ok with us since our dog got to walk a little :) Seating inside and outside , but all Were taken so we took our food home to eat. I do want to try this place again , the sukiyaki noodles looks yummy

I got to try Wagyu street at the spirit of Japan street festival. The festival its self was cool but this was one of the stand outs. I got to try the American Wagyu Beef Yakisoba and it was really good. I do feel like it was missing a sauce. It came with mayo but I wasn't the biggest fan of. Would like to try other things off the menu.

1st time at LBX. I like Japanese food and this hit the spot with the ice cold beer I ordered from the bar. Kind of on the pricier end but I guess its wagyu and comes with sides. I come to expect pricier food from food halls anyway. The bento portion was enough for me. You order at the counter and get a pager and pick it up when its ready. It was ready pretty quickly, about 10 mins.

Such a tender beef tongue bowl. I had this with garlic rice and added a soft boiled egg. The server was not friendly and seemed bothered that I asked how long the beef bowl had been sitting out. Yeah it's under a heated lamp but I need to be careful what my child consumes. I should be able to ask without getting a sigh and eye roll.

Wagyu Beef Curry bowl (with an added soft boiled egg)
    Andrew H.

After some decision paralysis with a friend in the Hangar we settled on Wagyu Street as a probable safe option with just meat and rice. I'm glad we tried it because it was great! I got the Beef Curry Wagyu bowl and added a soft boiled egg on the side. The beef was tender as expected from Wagyu, in slices and strips almost like you would expect from Gyu-Don (beef bowl). The curry was rich, flavorful, and the right amount of saltiness to complement the beef. It is a bit heavy due to the fattiness of the beef, so just keep that in mind. I do wish the curry itself was served on top of the rice, but nothing that a spoon can't fix if you want to eat the two together. Rice was nice, fluffy, and just the right texture. The seasoned soft boiled egg was delicious and cooked with a nice jammy yolk! Definitely would recommend adding it to this dish if you get it. For the price, I thought it was a reasonable deal considering it was Wagyu (and the current price of eggs...). Would definitely consider coming back here next time at the Hangar!

    Grilled Tofu "Cha-shu" Curry
    Harmonie T.

I was surprised to see a few menu items marked as vegan when I noticed this new restaurant in The Hangar. It intrigued me enough to order the Grilled Tofu "Cha-shu" Salad though my expectations were middle-ground considering it's just a salad. I was surprised to see that it was more than just tofu on a bed of salad greens. It also came with tomatoes, large chunks of cucumbers, edamame, pine nuts, radish sprouts, and rice noodles. I was very pleased with the amount of protein and flavor. https://bit.ly/3VHE1jY On my last visit, I ordered the Grilled Tofu "Cha-shu" Curry. The portion size is very generous! If you love carbs, this came with so much rice. The amount of tofu was not as generous but still enough to fill me up. On the plus side, it came with so much saucy-sauce that I kept for leftovers, and ate with a new package of tofu at home :) https://bit.ly/4fjluRZ Awesome spot that satisfies my Japanese curry cravings!

Their menu has a pretty extensive offering of Japanese food ranging from rice dishes, sushi, ramen, and izakaya-style appetizers. My wife and I ordered a bunch of handrolls and they were quite filling here. Their tuna handroll and shrimp tempura handrolls were the handrolls that we'd want to order again. Didn't enjoy the scallop handroll as much; however, they had a scallop sashimi appetizer this month that was amazing. The appetizer had thinly sliced hotate (Hokkaido scallops), seasoned with yuzu and it was delicious. Also ordered a soft-shell crab appetizer and we appreciated the meatiness of the soft-shell crab. While it was sometimes difficult to get the attention of servers, we felt the quality of the seafood was pretty good here. For this reason, this is a really welcome addition to the east long beach community and I'll definitely be back!

We sat at the bar and the sushi, chefs and server were nice. We ordered their spicy edamame which was loaded with flavor by far the best spicy edamame. I love the garlic and chili combos with a little citrus flavor. Also ordered the stinky roll, which is spicy tuna on the inside and salmon on the outside which I liked very much couldn't decide on a second roll so I asked the server to surprise us and kind of regret doing that because he had brought us a roll that I was already cringing at reading the description on the menu which was their long beach roll however, the crunch it had on the inside was very nice and not too heavy. I don't feel that asparagus should be anywhere near a sushi roll, but that was my bad. Also ordered their Yuzu cheesecake, which was a no for me. It was too strong and screaming Yuzu simialr to lemon zest and super tiny. The quality of the ingredients they use here are pretty good. I would come back to try other items, but I do not suggest getting their dessert or their long beach roll.

We'd made reservations and got seated at the counter, which offered a great vantage point from which to see the chefs work. We ordered: - Potato salad with nori and onsen egg (truly extraordinary potato salad) - Hokkaido scallop skewers (good but a bit too salty) - grilled rice ball with spicy cod roe (delicious) - white fish sashimi in ponzu (beautiful presentation and great flavors) - monkfish karaage (delicately fried pillowy white fish with intriguing matcha salt accompaniment) - black mussels (perfectly cooked juicy mussels in a delicious citrusy buttery broth that I seriously could've just drunk down) The service, while friendly, was slightly uneven: an extra rice ball we ordered got missed but we were able to take it off the bill, and a requested green tea refill took a really long time to come. But the staff were all so friendly and enthusiastic and the place was so busy I was willing to cut them some slack. It's a beautiful, fun place and I wish it continued success!

We also ordered a plate of nigiri as our appetizer, and the fish quality was really fresh. I ordered the chicken katsu plate for myself, and my was it delicious. I've never tasted katsu so light even though it's typically fried, and love the sauce they paired the katsu with. It was almost like a mustard? But it wasn't too overpowering or anything. We finished the night with the tempura ice cream, and let me tell you, this is a MUST. I honestly just expected them to throw some panko on top of a scoop of ice cream, but Te-Buru's take is (somehow) baking a tempura crust right onto a giant scoop of ice cream and then cutting up the scoop into wedges. The ice cream surprisingly did not melt all that quickly either, and the matcha flavor was on point. Our servers were quick to meet our requests, nothing super outstanding but made the meal pretty seamless. Prices I think were pretty standard except for their sushi. Those are bit on the steeper side, but again, their fish quality is really good.
