This is California Roll sushi it's the spicy version which I like a little kick to it!

If I'm in the mood for some Chicken Katsu I go to Sushi Kara in Long Beach off Bellflower Blvd. Salad is good tasting with a bit of sweetness to it!. Chicken Katsu is the best I've had since moving back from Hawaii! I had my order to go, but if you do dine in atmosphere is nice with friendly service! I've eaten there almost a dozen times. Spicy California roll is good has a kick to it but not a flame thrower. Just right amount to make it. Meal also comes with a cup of Miso soup which is tasty. I recommend this place, lots of food to choose from! Chicken Katsu is ono, which means delicious in Hawaiian! Thank you Sushi Kara!

We were in Long Beach for an appointment, so looked for a sushi place close by. Found Sushi Nara had decent reviews. Easy to find using our car navigation system. My wife and I are on low sodium diets, so this place worked out perfectly. We started by sharing a large bottle of Sapporo which was served with chilled glasses. We each ordered the crab cucumber salad, and we shared a tuna roll, salmon roll and Washington roll. The sushi was very good, not exceptional. I much prefer octopus cucumber salad over the fake crab. Would want to try their other Japanese dishes like the tempura.

Best sushi ever! My boyfriend and I cannot get enough of this place! Sushi is always fresh and so tasty. The waitresses are sweet and attentive. They recently updated their decor and looks great although I do miss their old wallpaper with various fish.

The food was so good!! I kept eating even though I was so full. The spicy crunch roll was my fave. The interior looks very clean and simple. Also had beer deals!

Been here a handful of times, we will come here just to get the oh my garlic roll. It's just so good, it melts in your mouth. I love the creaminess, and the garlicky flavor it just goes together so well. Garlic is amazing but who would have thought it'd go so well with sushi! We recently tried the hot mess, and we loved it, the crispy tempura, spicy tuna and sauce. They have such a wide selection of rolls, and food options. The food comes out quickly, the staff is very accommodating and it's just a casual quiet restaurant. Definitely get their Oh my Garlic Roll!

Welp guess I found our new sushi spot! Came to Sushi Kara out of convenience and left a happy customer. It definitely had the feel of a quick go-to local spot as opposed to a night-out vibe. But the fish quality, selection, and authenticity definitely stood out. To eat we had two rolls, some nigiri, and the i love salmon appetizer. The rolls were packed with flavor but not overly big or sauced up. The sushi was classic and made with greats cuts. Pro tip: order the real side of wasabi. Game changer! Whether you're looking for fun rolls or classic sushi, Sushi Kara is more than enough for a great sushi fix.

LOVED!! was craving sushi and decided to try this small, family owned business. Fish was super high quality!! We ordered bluefin tuna carpaccio, bluefin toro sushi, 3 hand roll lunch special, Scottish salmon carpaccio, and Scottish salmon sushi. I was surprised how thickly sliced the carpaccio was especially since most places do more fine and thin. The uni was so fresh I could taste the ocean. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area. The service was also amazing and the food came out super fast. (Alot of parking space in the plaza.)

Sushi Kara is awesome! I've been here more than a handful of times and it's always been great! It's a small restaurant with inside seating, and very clean. The workers are friendly and quick. I've brought family and friends and everyone loves it! They have a great selection of sushi!

The beef was okay. * Steak Garlic Noodles - Garlic Noodles were 2/5, flavorful but really salty. The steak was 3/5, good flavor, but dry and tough. * Garlic Parmesan Wings 4.5/5 - These wings were juicy, gooey, and garlicky. They were a bit greasy, but still really good. * Sinigang Wings 5/5 - These were my favorite. They were kinda like lemon pepper wings with really good flavor. The flavor may be inspired by Filipino sinigang soup, where the sourness comes from tamarind fruit.

For the table, the Buddha Rice - hearty and perfect to split. Their staff was all fantastic and it starts at the top. It may have been a rehearsal dinner or joint bachelor/ette they were hosting, but either way, they were entertaining a large party who were also having a blast. Wonderful energy, great vibes. Restaurant is packed, so place resos if possible. Food here is absolutely delicious. Notable dishes for me are the Pad See Ew with the giant shrimp and the Salmon Larb. Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Cocktails were excellent and recommend their Tamarind Spicy drink, don't remember the name but it was so good. Unfortunately no photos cause we weee hungry and just cleared out the food as it came out. Service is straight forward. We got what we needed with a bit wait due to the fact the place is BUSY!

We have full kitchens in all the rooms where we're staying along with plates and all the set ups. The rooms even have dishwashers! So, I found this S T Noodle Bar near by and decided to give it a try. I kinda know what there guys like to eat, so I just ordered a bunch of food. The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. All the food was really tasty and everybody was happy not to have to leave the hotel. I heard compliments on the Pad Thai and the Coconut soup. It was a good idea just to do take out and eat at the hotel here.

They were large and looked more like onion rings. Not bad, but I prefer lighter batter. Also, see the subreddit WeWantPlates, hehe) - spicy seafood salad (fresh and bountiful amount of seafood) - steamed mussels in lemongrass basil broth (mussels were plump and tender and the broth was so good--my favorite) - Singha beer Service was prompt, and the prices reasonable.
