Fist time here and we definitely enjoyed! Busy on a Sunday but service and seating was efficient. Food was so yummy - savory crepes were filled with chicken, my husband loved his chicken sandwich and the waffle was great. Perfect hint of vanilla. Somewhat fast casual / order at the counter and sit. Great for a casual brunch!
We haven't been here in a few years, but it was time to return. We loved it the first time we came and I'm surprised we haven't come sooner. Definitely a great brunch/breakfast place. I didn't try the lunch or coffee either time but their breakfast and brunch items yummy! The place itself is small and cozy with some outdoor seating. You order first before sitting down. I love the blue color scheme inside. The service is fast and staff is nice. I ordered the Wilcox avenue: 2 eggs, herbed potatoes, buttermilk biscuit or toast and choice of meat. The eggs were done great! Not too overdone or watery. Like the potatoes with skin still on. The biscuit and bacon was my favorite! Biscuit was very fluffy and tasty and the jam was made from scratch. There is something about offering made from scratch jam that adds that extra touch. It was strawberry jam and ever so good. The bacon was cooked to my liking a little crisp but not too soft. I loved my plate. My boyfriend had the Mexican Benedict: poached eggs, chorizo, hollandaise on sopes, herbed potatoes. Plenty of chorizo and he definitely approved. Another thing to add to the aesthetics was the beautiful dishware. Looked like handmade ceramics. Very pretty. The water cups were a great touch, copper cups. There is plenty of to choose from. I definitely want to try their baked goods next time and pancakes. I definitely recommend for brunch/breakfast place.
Had to visit while in Phx; haven't been in a while. Did not disappoint; never does. The food is always amazing. Portions are healthy to say the least. And the service is always top notch and personal. Food here just tastes different and home made. In a neighborhood type of location with tough parking, but well worth it. Can sit inside or plenty of tables outside as well. This one is a can't miss.
My second time here and the food here is still amazing! Although slightly pricier than most brunch places, and you have to line up to order and find your own seat like a cafeteria, the food choices can't be beat. Noise level is a bit above average, not the place to bring your laptop to sip on your coffee... Lots of flies everywhere, recommend some kinda contraption to control it.
Great reviews brought us here. It's an order at the counter then seat yourself. Food is brought to your table while you need to pick up your coffee order in the back. Food was hit and miss. Potatoes barely cooked and no seasoning. The chorizo was delicious. Coffee not flavorful. Both indoor and outdoor seating.
2/7/26: what a cool place! Great food served by friendly staff. The parking could be a bit tricky during business hours (south lot & on the east side), especially if you have a gargantuan vehicle -- but don't let that stop you. We didn't see the front door at the patio area so walked in the "back" door on the east side of the bldg, ran smack dab into their drink station attendants. Ooops. So yes, they have a patio area that was fairly substantial & well shaded. It must be dog friendly, or someone just didn't give a sh*t & brought their dog anyway. You order & pay at the counter, then they seat you with a number stand. We ordered the savory crepes, Wilcox avenue, a Portuguese donut, plus an apple empanada. All of it was delicious & well plated. I wonder if we could have asked them to warm up the donut & empanada ... hmmm, next time. :-) I would highly recommend Vovomeena. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger from Terminator, "I'll be back". Oh, and their take-home containers are compostable. Love this.
So excited that we came across a Facebook article saying people were driving over two hours just for the pancakes--Vovomeena's did not disappoint! The blueberry pancakes were hands-down the best I've ever had. The cashier clearly knew all the regulars and even asked how we heard about them. He was familiar with the article and mentioned they've had a ton of new visitors because of it, which was fun to hear. The setup is great: you walk in, place your order, then find a seat. Super easy and efficient. The entire staff was friendly, and our food came out quickly. Everything we ordered was delicious. Seating both inside and outside was very nice and comfortable. And honestly, the bathroom says a lot about a restaurant--this one had it all: clean, a candle, and great-smelling soap. That attention to detail really stood out. Anytime I'm in the area, I'll absolutely be stopping by Vovomeena's again!
"Order first, then sit where you'd like" style service. The food was pretty good, but nothing to rave about. The portions are incredibly generous, but it still feels like I paid too much for breakfast food (about or over $20/per person). The whole restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing. Overall, I had a good experience. I ordered the Johnnycakes because they sounded unique, and I like to order food that I've either never tried or can't make myself. These were kind of like a savory pancake and it was very good! Especially with the prickly pear syrup, but at some point the flavor of the syrup got to be overwhelming on the johnnycakes and I got over it about halfway through (but that's my fault for dumping it on there). I ate them with really good and juicy sausages and a side of sweet rice, which was kind of like oatmeal. I was surprised by it, but it actually wasn't that bad. Again, the food was good, but I won't drool thinking about it. It was just good!
The setup is semi self-service as they are a bit understaffed: you order at the counter, they bring the food to your table, but you have to pick up your drinks yourself. I think this would be different on the days when they are expecting more customers! As for the food--it was fine but the atmosphere has added a few points to it. Portions are generous, but the chicken burger was a bit under-seasoned to me. The blueberry pancake was what you'd expect from standard pancakes, fluffy and soaks up all the syrup. Overall, great spot for a relaxing brunch!
This was out first time here and we sat down for lunch, there was a great selection of breakfast items and the food was very fresh. I ordered the Willo Chicken sandwich that came with bacon and Swiss cheese, the chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the French fries were right amount of crispy. The portions were large. Parking was a little tricky since it is right off the freeway, and the lot it shared by 3 other restaurants but once you're inside it had a great ambiance. The staff was attentive and the service was quick.
This is my favorite breakfast spot in the valley! I had the Blackstone scramble with a portuguese donut this time but can also vouch for the Tortilla Española and the Pain Perdu. The interior feels quite cozy, but larger parties may find it difficult to sit together as you have to grab a table after you order.
First time visitor and tried their daily special with chorizo sausage. While the scramble was good, the potatoes felt like and after tho it and could use a little more seasoning...for me. The coffee and Italian sweet cream was delightful. We received our food quickly and I would definitely visit this space again!
I came here with some coworkers on a Friday morning around 11am. I love the ambiance and decor of this place. The service was decent and the staff were friendly. My scramble was pretty good. It came with a waffle which was really good as well. I didn't get a picture because it smelled SO good when it came out that I started eating it immediately! The chicken sandwich looked amazing and my coworker said that it tasted the same. I'm not a big French toast person but if I were, I'm sure I'd love the ones my other coworker had. I will definitely be back because I have to get the chicken sandwich!

WOW this is my new favorite brunch spot in all of Arizona! The menu is gorgeously curated to be unique twist to the breakfast classics. It's a casual vibe as you order and pay, then sit down with your group while waiting for the food. My friends and I got a variety of items, all of which we LOVED! My Mexican Benedict specifically was phenomenal and enough for two meals for me. Can't forget to mention the staff being kind, attentive, and extremely friendly, even working on Easter Day! I can't recommend this place enough and will absolutely be back to try more. read more
This breakfast place is sort of like a cafeteria but not. You queue up in a pretty long order at the counter, go to the coffee bar to get your drinks, and find any open table. The food came quickly and was fresh with good flavors. read more
A great place to get breakfast or brunch! This small shop is located next to Five Guys and Ahipoki Bowl. There are two private lots for this plaza, which are kind of small, and it can be difficult to find parking on a busy weekend morning. There was no wait to get seated, and you place your order with the cashier to get your food started. The food came out promptly and was delicious! The tortilla espanol was delicately layered with egg and potato, and I had never tried anything like it before. I also got a Portuguese donut, which unfortunately was kind of bland and left more to be desired. That being said, I would definitely come back to try any of the other breakfast dishes! We tried Vovomeena for the first time and it was delicious. I got the chalkboard special which was huevos rancheros and it was delicious. My husband got the scramble which was also yummy (he cleaned his plate so that's always a good sign). The fresh squeezed OJ was very refreshing, and the cold brew (which people raved about) was also very good. We sat outside with the pup at a communal table, as the outside patio is a bit quaint and quite tight. We'll be back! read more

Heard through the grapevine that this was a cool neighborhood spot, so I thought I'd check it out on Sunday morning. To my surprise, there was a long line out the door of guests waiting to order food at the counter before receiving a number and being led to a table. I wish someone had told me how popular this place was on the weekends! We waited in line for about an hour, so I would recommend getting there early or at least being aware that you will likely need to wait. Outside dining was enjoyable, with different cacti surrounding the outdoor space. The 3 sisters omelet was tasty but a bit dry. The potatoes that came along with it were delicious. There were several other items on the menu that I am interested in trying, so I plan to return (just not on a weekend)! read more

My favorite breakfast place in Phoenix. It's been a few years since I've been to Vovomeena but everything is the same as I remember it. We got the Bangin pocket, which is eggy, cheesy, sausagey goodness on a pita next to perfectly fried potatoes. Pain Perdu was amazing as always. read more

Vovomeena is a cute little brunch diner with outdoor seating. We got an assortment of dishes to share, which is a good idea because there needs to be a balance of sweet and savory dishes. We ordered the pain perdu (banana pudding French toast), BMOC (waffles, ham, caramelized peaches, waffle, and egg), and tortilla española (potato egg and cheese omelette with arugula). The best thing hands down was the waffle! It's so crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and it was a good amount of sweet. The pain perdu was actually a little too sweet and dense, and the Portuguese donut is REALLY sweet, which was a little too much for me. The pork chop is more of a honeyed ham but still good. I would recommend the BMOC again or at least get the waffle for sure. They also have fresh squeeze orange juice! read more

They have over-the-counter service, which I'm not a big fan of, with indoor and outdoor seating areas! We had french toast and an egg sandwich. Both were good but nothing extraordinary! The latte tasted good. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

This is one of the most delightful brunches I've ever had. Our group of 3 got the Mexican Benedict, Savory Omelette, Tortilla Espanola, and Strawberry Bread. All of our dishes came out less than 10 mins after ordering and were hot, flavorful, and filling. Despite the chorizo and sausage being flavorful, the plates weren't too oily or salty. You'd be able to enjoy it just on its own. Friendly staff, nice outdoor seating, and fun, yummy food. I'm a visitor in town, but if I ever come back to Phoenix, I'd definitely come here again for just the perfect brunch meal. read more
Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The order/seating system was unusual, but somehow seemed to work. Waiting in line was NBD since it gave me time to watch the busy kitchen crew in action. Everything looked good! Staff set a friendly tone and guests maintained a chill vibe despite the long line during Sunday brunch. After a quick stop at the coffee bar to pick up a flight of iced brews, we were seated. Loved trying the different flavors of coffee. Black and Tan was OK, Star Anise & Cardamom was better, Orange Peel & Ginger was the best! Food came out super quick. Delish! Loved the sweet corn in the fluffy cakes. Rice pudding on the side was perfect, studded with raisins. The potatoes were nice and crispy, not at all greasy. My gf's omelet was really tasty, and big enough for several people to share. Huge portions, esp for the very reasonable price. Def recommend. read more

Cool looking place on the inside and service is very nice. I ordered the Mexican Benedict which was pretty interesting. The base was very crispy and the chorizo was moist and juicy. I also ordered AN OJ which is not fresh squeezed though i really hoped it was. The coffee here is very strong and they also have a very interesting Japanese cold brew that takes 12 hours to brew! read more

I went to Vovomeena based upon a high review rating. It's an appealing place as far as appearance and decor. The reason why I did not rate it higher is based upon food and service. They weren't particularly helpful as far as service and there is this pretentious vibe as if they think they are hot stuff. The food is where they really came down. You can see photos of our food. It was not fresh. It tasted as if it was pre made and warmed up. That was extremely disappointing as it was not a very cost effective breakfast. I'm not sure I would go back and I'm not sure you should either. read more

Vovomeena is by far one of my favorite breakfast and brunch spots in the Phoenix area. It's not often a breakfast restaurant catches my eye, but I can see why they did. They use fresh and local ingredients, like sausage and chorizo from schreiner's sausage. They also draw inspiration from Mexican style breakfasts too, and the Mexican egg Benedict is one of the best I've ever had. Don't forget to add on a Portuguese donut to your order, they're amazing and completely worth the extra calories! read more

Had a great breakfast at Vovomeena. My mom and I shared the chorizo Benedict. It was really good and so much chorizo piled on an arepa. Different and flavor packed. My stepdad had the banging pocket and there was so much flavorful sausage, the eggs were fluffy and the pita was soft. Food was fabulous and the staff was too. Kind, walking around marking sure we had everything and wanting our experience to be great. Highly recommend. read more

We found this Mexican coffee shop on Yelp and it did not disappoint! I had the Johnny cakes which had actual bits of corn in the corn meal pancake. It also came with prickly pear syrup. My fiancé got the biscuit and gravy and that was delicious too. We opted for a latte and the cold brew flight for our drinks and were impressed with the quality and flavors of all the drinks. Definitely check out Vovomeena if you're in the area! read more

My husband and I visited this place shortly after landing in Phoenix Airport. Yelp reviews were outstanding compared to other breakfast places in proximity so we gave it a try. My experience was descent but my husband experience was good. Thus, the place deserves a good rating. I had the savory crêpes but can't say I'm a fan of the chicken and egg combination. The crêpes were a little too soft for my taste and a little small in my opinion. I had their ice coffee because let's be honest, who drinks hot coffee in 119-degree weather, but boy oh boy, I did not enjoy it at all. It was extremely water down with no flavor. On the other hand, my husband had the Palmcroft Pita only offered during the weekday. Now, that was worth the stop. I had two bites of it and was pretty good. According to my husband, the potatoes were just alright so if you can substitute them for something more enjoyable go for it. read more

Delicious breakfast / lunch spot .. entrance is in the back by the parking lot .. Pick up a menu before you get to the register to order & before finding a seat.. you will get a number and a mug, to get your own coffee if you have drip coffee with your order .. I've had the Mexican Benedict it was a delicious twist on chorizo & eggs .. every bite was full of flavor.. highly recommend On my recent visit I had the Wilcox Avenue which comes with eggs your way, schreiner sausage (locally made, amazing.. so good!), potatoes & toast with a jam that I poured on everything it was delicious.. possibly homemade. The drip coffee is also rich and flavorful without that burnt aftertaste you get from a lot of coffee places. The coffee counter has your choice of milk .. soy almond half&half and all the sugar options you could need as well. I tried this place since a coworker recommended it and I was not disappointed. I had the Johnnycakes which was, "two corn and chile cakes, prickly pear syrup, sweet rice, choice of meat or spuds" ($9.50). My favorite part of the dish was the sweet rice which was essentially excellent rice pudding! Mmm I'm wondering if I can just order that on its own. The pancakes weren't bad, just not my jam. I took what I couldn't finish home and used my maple syrup on the cakes, and it was much better! I think the prickly pear syrup is just too subtle. The place is however very beautiful! Love the interior design, truly some original features like the vertical rope divider (my favorite part). read more

Had a long layover and I'm needed food stat! Uber ride was about 15 minutes and completely worth it! I had the Mexican Benedict and a cold brew. The sopes were soft (in a good way). The chorizo had a spicy kick that I was not expecting but as I was eating it realized that it was mixed with jalapeños and red chilis. Spicy yet tasty! I could see why everyone raves about the cold brew...it was delicious! I wish I could have ordered a jug of it. read more
