Chicken pho
Francine L.

Vietnam Kitchen in Arcadia is so delicious! It was my first time here during lunchtime, and the place was a bit busy. The tables were filled with people, and I could see the ladies packing take-away orders as well. I ordered a chicken pho with the thicker rice noodles. You can add the vegetables inside the broth and even jalapeños to add a little kick. I like putting all the basil and bean sprouts in my broth and having each bite filled with texture and a hearty taste. So if you're ever in need of some chicken pho or regular pho I think this place does a pretty good job!

Yummy pho and spring rolls at this locally owned Vietnamese restaurant. The Shrimp Spring Rolls my friend and I shared were plump and fresh tasting, just wish they weren't out of pork because we initially wanted to order the spring rolls with pork in it, too. The peanut dipping sauce that came with the rolls was a less thick consistency but still so good! I ordered their Pho Tai that has thin slices of beef. Super delish broth, savory without being too salty. The included side of veggies to add into the pho were fresh - jalapeño slices, mint, and bean sprouts. The server also asked me if I wanted cilantro and onion in it. I opted only for cilantro as sometimes I don't like pho with onions. My friend and I ordered two of their fruit drinks to try. I got Mango Juice and she got Passion Fruit Juice. My drink was quite sweet but not a bad sweet; I tried a sip of my friend's drink, it was sweet too but a little less than the mango. We both liked our drinks, just my friend wished there were no seeds at the bottom of the juice. I had these mango jellies at the bottom of the Mango Juice and it was ok, but too overwhelming as part of the drink after a bit, so I wished that the server had given us that option for having no seeds or mango jellies in our juice drinks lol. But maybe it's pre-made mixed juices? After we arrived past 7pm and were seated immediately, the service to get our orders in took like 15 minutes or maybe a little more, but the server apologized for the wait when she came to our table to take our order, which is appreciated since they were busy but also are aware of tending to other customers waiting as soon as they can. Would definitely wanna go come back for their fresh, delicious pho and spring rolls with reasonable portions and pricing whenever I'm in Arcadia craving Vietnamese food!

OMG! So delicious! The portion was not too small and not too big. The service was quick and friendly. Only thing I didn't care for was the passion fruit juice as it tasted of pure artificial flavoring but the staff was able to switch it for a soda since I didn't care for it. For lunch I order the chicken pho and it tasted fresh and delicious. I highly recommend trying this spot. The chicken was perfect. I added lemon, sriracha, and hoisin sauce. Probably one of my favorite pho spots I have tried to date. The restaurant is quite small but it didn't matter as there were only two other tables eating when I was there.

Really refreshing pho broth. The soup doesn't feel too greasy or heavy. Good serving of meat and greens in the soup as well. The portion size is good (they only have 1 size here) and I'm content with the price. Can only give 4 stars since I haven't tried more of the menu but I'll definitely be back. The ladies are funny since they make suggestions for your next visit with them! (I ended up drink all the soup but couldn't finish the noodles).

This place is so underrated. I've tried many Pho places in SGV and OC (All the authentic Vietnamese Restaurant are in OC). This place has one of the best beef broth that i have ever tasted. The taste reminded of the bowls of Pho that i used to eat back in Viet Nam. Must try if you are looking for a good bowl of pho.

I've walked by this a few times and it's always smelled pretty good so I decided to walk in and try it. It's a very small restaurant that is definitely a mom and pop shop. There aren't many tables inside and I don't recommend a larvae party. They don't have a good habit of cleaning tables and they let it sit there until a customer needs that table. I ordered their combo beef pho and I would have to say that there are some good parts to it compared to other Vietnamese restaurants pho. So even though it's a combination pho, there is not much meat variety. There's only three beef items in there and that's the rare sliced beef, beef balls, and beef flank. If you want tripe or tendon, it's a 3 dollar charge per extra item. The bowl of pho starts at 15 dollars and that's like more expensive than most pho restaurants to begin with. There is only one size of pho as well. The soup of the pho is pretty flavorful and you can definitely tell there is MSG in it. The soup comes HOT which is good and it helps cooks the bean sprouts. The portion sizing is okay, for 15 dollars, this is like a large size in other places but the portion sizing here is like a regular at other places. For the service, there is no service and the people that work here are pretty rude. They have a very rude tone of voice and one of the ladies were like "They don't need a menu, they know what to order" even though she never spoke to them at all. The amount of time for them to take your order is also quite some time, they acknowledge you but they don't take your order. They also started to tell people to not order the spring rolls because there's too many orders. The inside of this place is modernize with fake plants and modern furniture. It's pretty nice inside but I guess you pay for it. Overall, it's not my favorite pho place and there's definitely work that needs to be done. Especially the staff, very rude tone of voice, and they are pretty slow. If I wanted a normal combo pho with like everything, it would be like 21 dollars before tax and tip! I wouldn't put this on my must try list or would I really recommend it to people. It's just... okay. Decent food but wouldn't come here just for food.

Great place. Customer service is really good. I've been here a couple times and they are so friendly. Each time I've been here from the moment I walked in I was greeted and acknowledged with a big smile. The first time I tried this place was January 7th, the night of the fires in Altadena, I arrived as the business was closing and they made no hesitation and still allowed me in out of the rain and crazy winds that were happening, they made sure I had plenty of food to go home with which ultimately made me come back now. Food taste great and the service is relatively fast. They are closed on Wednesday but come any other day and you will enjoy this restaurant.

Wow! Some of the best pho broth I've ever had. The goi cuon with shrimp were SO good and unique, I could have had ten. Service was great and almost felt like eating in someone's home. Can't wait to go back.

banh mi
Joanna L.

The tiny-ness of the banh mi at Vietnamese Kitchen should be a crime. After tax, the little sandwich will set you back just under $8 and it's so small compared to banh mi at other locations. I ordered takeout on a Monday evening around 7:30pm and they didn't have any dine in patrons but there were plenty of takeout and door-dash orders. Since I ordered upon arriving, it took them 15 minutes to finally get to my order. The baguette was a little hard and they package the radish/carrots separately which is nice. The sandwich itself is tasty flavor wise and it's a no frills, bare bones type of banh mi (literally bread, meat, veggies). Free ample parking in the parking lot. I don't think I'll get the banh mi again but I might be back to try other stuff

They even have Set Dinner Menu that comes with pre-set items. Have to give that a try one day. We ended up ordering the Bún Bò Huế and the Vietnamese Braised Fish. The Braised Fish did not come with steam rice, so we had to order the steam rice. For the drinks, we had the Peach Oolong Iced Tea and the 3-Colored Dessert. The Bún Bò Huế was very good. This soup is so pungent that the only time I get to savor it is at home and the stink doesn't leave your home for a few days. So, it is to my delight that they offer it here during the weekdays. It is a nicely stacked bowl that has everything but the kitchen sink in it - roast pork belly, catfish, squid, eggplant, and stuffed jalapeno with fried fish cake. Very filling and reasonably priced! The only reason I gave this place a 4 instead of 5 rating is because you can only order certain items from the menu when they open. I wanted to get some Chinese food to-go for my husband, but was told by the server that the other items were only available beginning at 10 am, which is odd to me.

The nem nuong rolls were so good -- each roll had a generous piece of nem nuong with that perfect smoky-sweet flavor. You can tell they don't skimp on the good stuff here. Every bite had a great balance of herbs, noodles, and that delicious grilled pork. The bun bo hue was a huge bowl of comfort. The broth was deeply flavorful with just the right amount of spice, and it came loaded with big, meaty pork feet and pork blood that made it feel extra hearty and authentic. Definitely one of those dishes that warms your soul. We also tried the banh beo. The flour mixture was a little on the thicker side, but it was still really tasty--especially with those crispy little pieces of pork fat on top that add such a great savory crunch. On top of the food, the service was friendly and attentive, which always makes the experience even better. All in all, a great meal and I can't wait to come back and start working my way through the rest of the menu.

The rib itself is 4/10, if 5/10 meant acceptable. I ONLY recommend this spot if you're on your lunch break and gotta stay in the area for work. Otherwise, you should make the drive to eat better. I assume the good rating they have is due to lack of competition in the immediate area. They have a B rating as if 9/25/2024! 1.5 years and they still haven't made the effort to get right?
