We passed on drinks as they only serve bottled water for $1. The spring rolls were really good! Was craving a banh mi during lunch, and I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the rib-eye beef sandwich which is $7. I though that's a bit pricy for a banh mi. Upon arriving, the ambiance; it's definitely a mom&pop shop so you already know its going to be good. The staff was nice and pleasant. The person who took my phone order was nice as well. I could tell that this place is a small family owned joint. All the servers were so nice and very friendly, I felt a warm welcome. We were there around 12 pm on Sat, and there were plenty of tables available. This place made me feel at home with great pho. We came around 1pm on a Tuesday, and they were 1/3-1/2 full inside. Prices were fair. They are located in a plaza with several other businesses, but we had no issues finding parking. Service was superb for an asian restaurant. They were very considerate and gave me extra plastic utensils, straws, and bowls for my toddler. Pho with rare beef and tripe: The soup flavor was good and not too salty or oily. The beef was a bit tough, but still good. I ordered extra noodles for my toddler, and they cooked it softer for me too, which I thought was very kind of them, 5/5. Shrimp saltado: Seems like a pricey dish, but it's a large plate of food. We were expecting peruvian flavors, but it had an asian twist to it. The sauce reminds me of the sauce used to cook the chinese scallion lobster dishes. It was actually very good and not too oily. We've been at this location before the pandemic, we dine in recently and noticed the menu has definitely been updated. Yes, the price has increase but so has everything else everywhere. But instead of the usual pho and other regular vietnamese dishes, there are now entrees such as cajun shrimps and saltado. I always just ordered my usual pho with nam, tripe and meatballs, however my hubby was excited to try the new items. He was very satisfy with his cajun shrimps and the marinated grilled pork chops. This is exciting for him because he does not care for pho anywhere. So for him to have new delicious dishes to try while putting up for his wifey's pho craving this is a good bonus. My whole family loves Vietnamese cuisine and thankfully we have plenty restaurants around to get our food from but when it comes to the best original pho or garlic shrimp, there is nothing better than Vietnam Kitchen! I love how Ann comes to her visitors and asks if there's anything else that we might need. She is always nice, polite and friendly and it doesn't matter if we eat in or take out. I really like it here for an unexpected reason... 1. The Vietnamese food you would expect to find, is good. I got the VK special marinated charbroiled pork and it was meaty, tender, and flavorful. Note that it doesn't come with rice but I knew this since it was an appetizer. 2. I don't like pho (anywhere) so I'm usually limited to the same few non-pho dishes when I go to Vietnamese restaurants (with my friends who do like pho), but here there is a menu with a wide range of things that you'd normally not find so it's win-win for me. 3. In particular, I had the VK cajun and lemon shrimp, and it was sooooo good. I had low expectations but honestly this was better than any Hawaiian shrimp plate in Hawaii (which I love). The flavor was very bold and satisfying with a lot of garlic, lime, and sauce. At the shrimp trucks in Hawaii, usually the sauce is on the shell, and when you peel the shrimp the flavor goes with it, but here you can taste the fireworks of flavor with every bite. Some of the best chicken pho I've ever had in the 626 area. It might be a couple of dollars more expensive compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area though. My favorite dish is definitely the Chicken Pho with thick noodles. The staff was very patient with our orders - even when we asked for extra onions or no cilantro for all our dishes. The chicken wasn't dry, but it tasted moist and flavorful, almost like a rotisserie chicken but in broth. We also ordered spring rolls and Cajun chicken wings. The chicken wings are a little bit small, but the flavor really packs a punch. Strong garlic aroma mixed with a flavorful slightly sweet sauce. The spring rolls were pretty standard. Parking can be a little tricky during busy hours. We came on Friday night at 8pm and the lot was full. Even the restaurant was really packed. read more

Tldr: if you value your time and money, don't go here. I have never heard of waiting for an hour plus for food at a Vietnamese restaurant. We came here to get takeout for the family, a simple order of a pho, a banh mi sandwich and two spring roll appetizers. When we got there, there were people sitting at tables and similarly, putting in to go orders. 30 mins later, no news. No food. For anyone. More people began piling up to dine in, pick up to go's and online orders. We were all waiting. A total of 45 mins later, we finally got our food... But they forgot our spring roll. The waitress put the food down in front of us, (didn't apologize or explain) and hurriedly took down what we missed. There's some yelling in the kitchen, some chaotic flurries of taped order tickets and waiting hungry customers. At this point, there were a few to go orders and one table served. Majority of people were still waiting with no food. After waiting for another 15 mins, and watching them pack up about two more (large) online orders, we left. We couldn't wait anymore because the kids at home were hungry and we needed to go. On principle, as a business practice, they should have alerted customers that something was wrong in the kitchen and/or that it was backed up. They should have stopped seating new customers when they already had a large backlog. They should have apologized and should have respected their customers' time. There should be an organized order-taking system for online orders, take out orders and dine in customers. They did none of these things. (And look, I've worked at a restaurant. I get when things go down, but you set expectations for your customers, apologize, and they'd understand.). Also, we did eat their pho (for $12 a bowl). There were exactly two slices of beef and two pieces of tendon. For the banh mi, for $7, it's a total joke at how small it was (see picture with my finger for scale). I won't be coming back again. And would caution others from this experience too. There are better Vietnamese places. Period. read more

I got the pho bo Vietnam. Broth was good, not fatty. However the meat was chewy for me. There was one piece that I couldn't even eat. If the meat was tender, I would have given five stars. My bf got their #18 special. He also said it was okay. Service was a bit slow, but the lady had to handle a lot of take out orders.
