By far the worst customer experience I've ever had anywhere in my entire life. If I could give 0 stars I would. I wish I were lucky enough to get the same level of service as others, but unfortunately I didn't.
I've been wanting a new tv for a couple of years now and after saving I finally decided to buy one with this year's black Friday deals. I bought a 42in lg tv, but it was Saturday and they were out of stock. No big deal, I'll pay for it now and pick it up later. I was told it would arrive the following Wednesday.
Except it didn't. I eagerly awaited and called Wednesday afternoon. They said there was a delay in delivery and that it would be in by Friday. Fine, just a couple more days.
Friday rolls around. I call, and it still hasn't arrived. Then they tell me it'll be arriving sometime next week. They don't even give me an expected day. I'm just told to give it another week.
Well, this week has come and gone. I call today to see if it's come in yet, and I get the same b.s. as last time. 'It'll be in sometime next week but it's on its way,' they say. I've been more than patient. I'm out 400 for two weeks now and have nothing to show for it. I could've waited a little longer, but who knows if it would've actually arrived. For all I know, they would've continued to give me the run around. It's the principal of the matter.
I finally decide that enough is enough and that I'm going to get my money back. When I go in, the two guys demeanor completely changes when they realize I'm returning instead of purchasing. After giving a brief description as to why I'm returning, the guy who processes it in the computer merely says, 'You know how much this tv goes for now? 589.99' practically scoffing at me. The other guy says to me, 'Do you work retail?' as if to say that I don't understand the situation and that I'm being an inconsiderate customer. Two things: 1) the price is irrelevant to the situation. It's not the point at all. 2) yes, I have worked retail, and I worked in a stockroom. We knew exactly what we were getting in and when we were getting it. And if it didn't arrive, we actually followed up with our customers, rather than them following up with us.
The thing is, no one ever followed up with me. It honestly would have gone a long way. It was always me calling in for my tv, never one of their employees updating me with the status of my order. That store is never busy. You mean to tell me you can't spend 20 minutes a day to follow up with your customers? And in my case, you had two weeks to update me and apologize for the delay, which I think I deserve.
The way those two guys handled my return was awful as well. Rather than trying to understand the situation, apologize for the unfortunate circumstance, value my business and rectify it, they just looked down on me and gave me attitude.
The guy said that they'll have to mail out my return receipt next week for the corporate office to issue the refund. He said 7-10 days, but the stamp on my receipt says 15-30 so I'm not holding my breath. So here I am, still out 400 and will be for at least two more weeks. Hopefully they won't screw up mailing out my receipt either. Hell, I'm surprised they didn't have me do it myself.
