Toppings for your oysters, all freshly made
    Sarah W.

This restaurant is located in the lobby of the hotel. For a Tuesday night, it was packed by 6pm. The service is slow as the wait staff/kitchen were inundated with 80% of the patrons ordering at the same time. We were given some nice bread and Olive Oil in Salt and Balsamic Vinegar as we were waiting. We originally were coming here for the Beer and Burger Special which they no longer do.. As we were perusing the menu, the Happy Hour Menu caught our eye.. Buck a Shuck Oysters - so we ordered 3 dozen We also ordered some dinner off the menu: Beef Short Rib Poutine - the Short Rib was flavorful and intense and the Fries was cruchy with well seasoned gravy and cheese curds Pork Chop - the chop is nicely seared and not over cooked, the brussels sprout is nicely crisp on a bed of celiac puree and chutney. Come in at 5pm to take advantage of the Happy Hour tapas and drinks.

I ventured to Victor for a wedding and got to meet Chef David Chrystian. I felt like a giddy kid seeing Santa during the holidays. He was shucking fresh oysters for us and i got to chit chat with him. At the wedding we had a 7 course meal. Sharing Plate- Cheese, Sausages, Salami, Prosciutto, ratatouille terrine Salad- pickled cucumbers, yellow tomatoes, hummus Pasta- butternut squash ravioli with fried capers and the yummiest Parmesan i have ever had. Fish- Swordfish recommended by the Chef himself, excellent. Meat- a duo of Bison tenderloin and Beef short rib. the Bison was out melt in your mouth. Sorbet- by then the wine was hitting me Dessert- there was a mix of a lot of stuff but the shots were going around. It tasted devine though :) All in all i was very impressed by the staff, the Chef, the food, the drinks, the company, the whole night.

Went here for Valentines day. They had a set menu of 4 courses for $75 per person. I thought this was a pretty decent deal for being an upscale restaurant. The menu we had consisted of Soups - lobster bisque and a leek soup. Both were good but not amazing Salad - tuna with scallops and a beet salad. The tuna was really good. It was sushi style tuna and the scallops were seared to perfection. The beet salad was also good but the tuna was way better Pomegranate sorbet to "cleanse" the palette Dinner - my wife had the beef tenderloin and I had the black cod. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. All of the other flavours it came with matched very well. Desert - Chocolate mousse cake and a passion fruit custard (think creme brule). Both delicious We were served glasses complimentary sparking wine to begin the evening. The servers were very attentive and prompt and the atmosphere was great. All in all a nice place to eat for a special dinner.

This restaurant has a beautiful and classy environment, with a room perfect for a large party private dining experience. It is on the business casual/dressy side, but we were casually dressed, and was not treated any differently. The service was really good, and the waiter was friendly, and went above and beyond for our simple meal. They have a long wine list, and the waiter is very knowledgeable. Surf and Turf (Saturday Special - limited) |$30|: The steak was done to perfection, and the shrimp at this amazing flavorful smokey taste. If you have a big appetite, or just have a regular man's appetite, go on Saturdays, and get this special! Roasted Branzino |$28|: The fish was soft, moist, and flakey. The skin was cripsy and flavorful. It also came with fingerling potatoes, which were average, and braised kale, that was a big on the bland, and oily side. It was a well assembled dish though, where each element was needed to balance each other. It's hard to explain. Dessert: I can't remember what it was, but it was a cake of some sort, with caramelized banana, with salted caramel, and some sort of ice cream. It was DELICIOUS. I would definitely go again, try some signature cocktails, and appetizers, especially the poutine!

3.5/5 A quiet restaurant located on Mercer street in the Hotel le Germain. Beautiful decor and the service was great. For entrees, we had the bone-in pork chop, brick chicken and the scallops & pork belly, and they were all fantastic. The most memorable is probably the pork chop - despite being thick, it was cooked through and was still juicy. The apps and dessert, however, were quite underwhelming. The crab cakes reminded me of a filet-o-fish and the sushi pizza was more of a sashimi cracker. I would recommend Victor based on the quality of the entrees, but temper your expectations for the other courses of the meal.

I went there with my gf for a week day after work dinner* Its not easy to find however it may be a good comfortable reason why its not jam packed* We tried their curry soup which we both couldn't finish a shared portion because the taste was too strong and spicy* my gf had a pasta which was average and i had the seared scallop that did not wow me*

    Dessert! Pavlova!

Amazing food, great service and music to vibe too! I love it here! Perfect gem on an unassuming street! A must-go!

Had and opportunity to revisit for a reunion with friends. Like going backwards in a Time Machine. Same decor tables Wow. The other thing that hadn't changed was the wings. Those award winning wing sauces were just as good as I remember. It was 1/2 price night place was lined up, but nobody was trying push us out to turn tables. We all agreed that we thought the wings were even better than we remembered. Service, even packed was friendly and timely. Want to try an independent wing place rather than a chain. The wings came out extremely quickly, but somehow weren't as piping hot as you would expect. The quality of meat was just ok, and the wings are pretty average in size - the sauces were also solid but nothing to write home about. The fries were pretty greasy and didn't taste fresh at all, and the veggies had some dirt / residue on them. The dill sauce was very nice. Overall, I think there is a lot of room for improvement but also a lot of potential.

The design of this location is nice because if you prefer a quieter seat, they have booths near the kitchen that seemed quieter than those near the bar/windows. Service was friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed the happy hour specials! So much variety, and half off cocktails is always appreciated! All of us went for multiple fish tacos (yes, they were THAT good), and we happily shared some truffle fries and corn/avocado dip as well. However, I'd skip on the desserts. We got to try one of each dessert on the menu, and none impressed us :(

Salsa for comp chip & salsa was smokey and delish. Chips were fresh! Avocado & corn dip ($5 Happy hour exclusive) We did not know that they would serve us comp. chips/ salsa & ordered this. But no regrets! They served us plenty of Avocado dip. I liked that it was well seasoned but not salty. Fried chicken & pickle skewer( $12. Happy hour exclusive). Highly recommend this! Pressed salmon sushi($15) Surprisingly good. Liked the puffed rice on top and sauce was not overly sweet. Moscow Mule($7) Such a good value Rascal white wine ($9.13) Again great value Definately will return!

We were seated and then greeted right away by our waitress. She gave us menus, but then didn't come back for about 15-20 minutes to take our drink orders. We each ordered a cocktail and they arrived within 5 mins. and all looked amazing. We had the Marissa Harissa which wasn't mine but I swapped for it because it was so tasty lol. It was spicy and a little sour and a little sweet. Very yum! I had ordered the Velvet Figue, which was tasty but a ittle on the sweet side for me. We also had the Amal Old Fashioned which was fantastic. My husband and I both said it was one of the best Old Fashioneds we'd ever had. The last one was the Amal Espresso Martini which was good but unremarkable. We waited about 20 minutes before our food orders were taken. We ordered several things to share. The first round came out around 10 minutes after ordering, which was good. We had the dip sampler and chose the hummus basil, baba ganoush and muhamarrah. The hummus basil was wonderfully smooth and had a great basil flavour. The baba ganoush was nice and creamy. The muhamarrah had a very nice flavour but was very sweet which was a little off-putting to me. I didn't hate it, but wouldn't order it again. We had the kibbeh which was fantastic. The texture and flavour were both perfect. We also had the spicy fingerlings which were great! They were very spicy and the sauce was lemony and so delicious. I actuallly mixed some with my muhamarrah to cut the sweetnss and that really helped. The rest of the food took about 20 minutes to arrive (after we finished the appetizers). We had the skewer platter for two and it was so delicious. The pistachio kabab was out of this world good. My sister doesn't usually enjoy lamb, but she liked this. It was spiced perfectly. The other two were very good too. We had the vermicelli rice, which was very nice. I make this at home so I'm familiar with it and really enjoyed it. The texture was perfect. Lastly, we had the pickle plate which was very interesting. The eggplant pickle was different from any pickle I've had before and was quite firm, which I wasn't expecting. It was tasty. We ordered a bottle of Lebanese red wine which was a very nice accompaniment to the skewers. All in all, it was a lovely evening. Our server was very nice and friendly and the food and drinks were very good. The 4-star rating is partly because of the very slow speed at which the food came out. I'd have given 4.5 stars if that was an option We would return.

The space really is stunning. You feel like you've stepped into something special once you're inside. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away without a wait. Food also came out quickly, which I appreciated. I ordered a latte and the Lebanese Omelette with tomatoes, green onions, capsicum, parsley, home potatoes, and pickled serrano, plus a side of 4 pieces of beef bacon. The latte was okay, nothing memorable. The omelette had good flavour and nice seasoning, but overall I found the dish a little dry. The beef bacon was probably my favourite part, especially with the little pops of pomegranate sprinkled on top, which added a subtle sweetness and texture. One thing that stood out this visit unfortunately wasn't the food. The textile bench cushions where I was seated were visibly stained and fairly worn. They were also uneven in height, and my table was positioned right over two different cushions. I ended up stuffing a pillow under one side just to avoid feeling lopsided the entire meal. It's a small detail, but in a restaurant that presents itself as polished and upscale, those touches matter. Overall, brunch was fine. Good, but not excellent. The food came quickly, flavours were pleasant, but it didn't wow me. That said, I've heard their dinner service is where Amal really shines, with a more expansive mezze selection and elevated dishes, so I'd be open to returning in the evening to experience the restaurant at its best.
