I liked the covered patio location with plenty of sunlight in the patio area if the weather is good, or indoor seating if that's your preference. Hemingway's is a combination pub and restaurant, with signs for various events (trivia night, and other I didn't catch a glance of), though leaning towards the pub side with TVs with sports on and a full bar. I went in the afternoon, a little after 12:30pm. We were seated quickly, but service was slow, and my part had to to wait for quite a while for the drinks, then much later, the food, to arrive. We pre-emptively asked for the bill when they arrived with the food since we weren't sure how long they would take to get back to our table in the afternoon. I got a Pineapple Mule, a zero proof drink and it was great. Tangy with a copper mug to make it a delightful sight. The food however, was pretty bland or too salty. I got a Kiwi lamb burger, which didn't have a strong flavor at all. I expect rosemary and lamb to shine, but I didn't get either in the burger. The burger toppings and the ketchup they handed me saved the meal. My party echoed flavor issues, but more so that their entrees were too salty. Mixed on the food being either too salty or too flavorless, but the portions were nicely sized at least and we had good drinks. Fries were decent at least, along with the poutine and calamari we got for the table. I would go again for the drinks and the shareables.

We made a reservation for Friday lunch on the patio to make the most of last days of summer and patio season. We were seated very close to the bar and we could see everything coming out of the downstairs kitchen and being served to other customers; everything looked so delicious. We ordered "Thai Chicken Salad". The ingredients were fresh and the sauce was very delicious. The service is fast and staff are friendly. Parking could be a challenge here, but it's perfectly accessible through subway.

3.5/5 Food (6.23/10): Food was good; I think the sweet potato fries were the better part. The batter was really good (not too oily, and crisp), but the fish itself wasn't the best. Would go again for the food though. Service (6/10): Server was nice - they subbed out the french fries for sweet potato fries for us. Took a while to place our order and get the bill though. Ambiance (7/10): Definitely gave pub vibes - would want to go on the rooftop with all my friends and share some apps.

I had lunch today with my friend, Rockell, on the upper patio at Hemingway's. I had Butter Chicken (Chunks of chicken in a smooth Indian curry sauce, served with basmati rice). It should have come with veggies on the side but I said I didn't want any so they gave me extra rice. Rockell had an Out of Bounds Chicken Salad (A tender, grilled chicken breast laid on a bed of mixed greens, tossed in our house raspberry vinaigrette, with tomato & sprinkled with sundried cranberries, feta cheese & spiced pecans). Both were good. Valeria was our server and took good care of us.

Good spot in nice area, had a good time. Food was okay. Had a few drinks on the patio would come back for the ambience. Service was good too.

Met my friend at the subway exit and just decided to come here for lunch. I've been here before for different events. I ordered the mimosa special for drink and ribs meal special for lunch. The food portion was pretty big. I couldn't finish it so I had to take home. I had another mimosa as well. We sat on the 2nd floor patio and did some people watching. The waitress was great, came to ask us at the right interval as we wanted to chat more. Glad we were able to catch up without feeling rushed. It was a very sunny day too, but not too hot. The pricing is good considering the location.

I first went there for Taylor Swift trivia, which was quite lively! Great atmosphere, greasy hosts, great special drinks menu. I've also been once on the rooftop patio, which is a lovely experience. But I also once stopped by with friends looking for a place to drink and chat, and it ended up being quite unsuited - crowded, rowdy, very loud music downstairs. If you can't find a spot on the rooftop, it might not be worth it.

    Grilled Salmon Salad Lamb Burger

First off, location is great for this restaurant. The lamb burger was okay. The meat was over cooked and dry. The lamb tacos were also okay but once again the meat was over cooked and dry. Grilled Salmon Salad was good. Pavlova was overly sweet and could use some more fruit. Service was alright and outdoor seating was good. Probably wouldn't return to this restaurant. I find it overrated.

Service was slow and it's hard to blame. It was a busy night. The lamb shanks were great, although the accompanying mashed potatoes and sweet potato fries were below average. The clam chowder was good, but there was a chunk of flour in mine.

Very spacious, good for large groups and they have a snug area too. They don't have a breakfast menu & didn't add a one-off menu for the early morning opening so for food, we just chose off the lunch menu. We had the garlic pull-apart bread to start and then around 2nd half, I order the fried chicken burger & the smashed potatoes, and my friend got the chicken tenders and fries. They did have coffee & tea so that was good for an early morning drink! I really liked the fried chicken burger. It didn't have much seasoning on it. Temperature wise it was hot, so ideal to wait to bite into it! The smashed potatoes were fantastic - would definitely order that over the fries any day. They needed salt though, which I added. Those would be great for the poutine or the loaded poutine too!

The design of this location is nice because if you prefer a quieter seat, they have booths near the kitchen that seemed quieter than those near the bar/windows. But no regrets! They served us plenty of Avocado dip. I liked that it was well seasoned but not salty. Fried chicken & pickle skewer( $12. Happy hour exclusive). Highly recommend this! We were seated and then greeted right away by our waitress. She gave us menus, but then didn't come back for about 15-20 minutes to take our drink orders. We each ordered a cocktail and they arrived within 5 mins. and all looked amazing. We had the Marissa Harissa which wasn't mine but I swapped for it because it was so tasty lol. It was spicy and a little sour and a little sweet. Very yum! I had ordered the Velvet Figue, which was tasty but a ittle on the sweet side for me. We also had the Amal Old Fashioned which was fantastic. My husband and I both said it was one of the best Old Fashioneds we'd ever had. The last one was the Amal Espresso Martini which was good but unremarkable. We waited about 20 minutes before our food orders were taken. We ordered several things to share. The first round came out around 10 minutes after ordering, which was good. We had the dip sampler and chose the hummus basil, baba ganoush and muhamarrah. The hummus basil was wonderfully smooth and had a great basil flavour. The baba ganoush was nice and creamy. The muhamarrah had a very nice flavour but was very sweet which was a little off-putting to me. I didn't hate it, but wouldn't order it again. We had the kibbeh which was fantastic. The texture and flavour were both perfect. We also had the spicy fingerlings which were great! They were very spicy and the sauce was lemony and so delicious. I actuallly mixed some with my muhamarrah to cut the sweetnss and that really helped. The rest of the food took about 20 minutes to arrive (after we finished the appetizers). We had the skewer platter for two and it was so delicious. The pistachio kabab was out of this world good. My sister doesn't usually enjoy lamb, but she liked this. It was spiced perfectly. The other two were very good too. We had the vermicelli rice, which was very nice. I make this at home so I'm familiar with it and really enjoyed it. The texture was perfect. Lastly, we had the pickle plate which was very interesting. The eggplant pickle was different from any pickle I've had before and was quite firm, which I wasn't expecting. It was tasty. We ordered a bottle of Lebanese red wine which was a very nice accompaniment to the skewers. All in all, it was a lovely evening. Our server was very nice and friendly and the food and drinks were very good. The 4-star rating is partly because of the very slow speed at which the food came out. I'd have given 4.5 stars if that was an option We would return.

The space really is stunning. You feel like you've stepped into something special once you're inside. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away without a wait. Food also came out quickly, which I appreciated. I ordered a latte and the Lebanese Omelette with tomatoes, green onions, capsicum, parsley, home potatoes, and pickled serrano, plus a side of 4 pieces of beef bacon. The latte was okay, nothing memorable. The omelette had good flavour and nice seasoning, but overall I found the dish a little dry. The beef bacon was probably my favourite part, especially with the little pops of pomegranate sprinkled on top, which added a subtle sweetness and texture. One thing that stood out this visit unfortunately wasn't the food. The textile bench cushions where I was seated were visibly stained and fairly worn. They were also uneven in height, and my table was positioned right over two different cushions. I ended up stuffing a pillow under one side just to avoid feeling lopsided the entire meal. It's a small detail, but in a restaurant that presents itself as polished and upscale, those touches matter. Overall, brunch was fine. Good, but not excellent. The food came quickly, flavours were pleasant, but it didn't wow me. That said, I've heard their dinner service is where Amal really shines, with a more expansive mezze selection and elevated dishes, so I'd be open to returning in the evening to experience the restaurant at its best.

We started with the Brussels sprouts which is always a great choice from here. Crispy on the outside and not an overwhelming Brussels sprout taste. This is likely because there is a generous sprinkling of grated parm and a great amount of dip. We tried the crispy tuna sushi. The tuna was beautifully marinated, so flavourful. And the sushi was nice and crispy. The vodka pie was a seasonal item and when we saw it listed, we knew we needed to try it. The sauce- amazing, the press was nice and flaky and light and really tasty. And the soccer Sada added nice saltines and flavour without being too overwhelming. For happy hour, the apps and pizzas were $5 off, and the ranch water was $5. I'd come back for the pizza alone! Jeans was our waitress and she was great!
