Vodka Rigatoni
Gursheen S.

The food here is decent, about the same as most restaurants, but I will say I really love their pasta and I always get the truffle fries, they're a must. The vibes are always good too, it's usually busy and lively which makes it a fun spot if you're looking for that kind of atmosphere. Price-wise it's pretty average compared to places like Moxies or Turtle Jacks, but I think the ambience here is definitely a bit nicer which makes it stand out. Servers are usually polite, though I have noticed they're usually running around and might not be as attentive. Overall though, it's a nice place. The food is pretty good, the vibes are fun, and it's worth checking out at least once for sure.

We visited this restaurant for dinner with my family, and despite having a party of 10, they were able to seat us outside. At first, I was concerned it might be an issue, but the outdoor seating was enclosed and comfortably heated, making it a cozy experience. I loved the decor - stylish yet welcoming - and the dim lighting added to the relaxing ambiance. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, ensuring fast service. The food was amazing! The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the cocktails were equally impressive. Price is on the expensive side however worth it. It If I visit Canada again, I'd definitely return!

Mushroom ravioli

This was my second time at Taps and it was great service was good from all the staff they were relatively fast and checked in regularly which was nice. The mushroom ravioli is really good very flavourful and creamy however the portion is on the smaller side (I had this last year it could've changed) I wouldn't order it again only for that reason. The truffle fries are a classic for sharing the aoli served is a nice paring the fries are cooked well crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The Bianca pizza was great diffrent from what I'd usually order but I was not disappointed a good option for a main or good to share it has 6 slices and is very filling the crust was perfectly cooked very soft on the inside and the dip paired well with it we got the herb dip and it was delisous with the crust. Kalamari was also good cooked well and not overly seasoned the sauce was a nice pairing adding some spice. Overall it was good I would come back and try other things on there menu. I do have to add that we brought a cake in for my friends birthday and I also provided candles as I wasn't sure if they'd have and I wanted to be prepared they happily kept the cake refrigerated while our party ate but then when it was served they just placed it down at our table no celebration or singing and during our time eating 2 other parties in our section were also celebrating and got a whole show many staff came and sang happy birthday as well as dances and clapped however we did not get the same treatment which I did find odd and I don't know if that was from us bringing our own cake but I did want to include that. The ambiance otherwise was nice it's a great place and the vibes are good I wouldn't say it's a family vibe as a lot of people do drink here but it's a nice for an adult gathering

Came in on a Friday afternoon with a party of 6. Quickly seated and great service. Had some yummy appetizers, great local beers and entries. Kinda of a classy place compared to laid back. But great menu of various items.

Decided to come here with the husband We decided to go with the table d'hôte It comes with a whole bunch of entrees and mains we upgraded it to the ribeye steak honestly it was not worth the upgrade as it was an extra 50$ for it and it ended up costing us about 140$ we could have just ordered the steak on its own and get a way bigger portion! Despite the price, the food was amazing fresh and delicious My fries and burrata were deeelishh Service: absolutely wonderful very attentive and friendly we enjoyed our night in general and the ambiance was great! Overall, its a nice place to get together and have good drinks and food would definitely come back

Miso Carbonara

My family and I came here to celebrate a birthday. Their service was great. Although a couple of our drinks were served really late, the supervisor was kind enough to apologize and give them as complimentary. We ordered the platter which had green beans, carrots, 7 oz sirloin, 12 oz rib eye, calamari and wagyu sliders. We also ordered extra wagyu sliders and the miso carbonara. Both the steaks were perfectly cooked to our preferences. The wagyu sliders were juicy with a rich flavour. The calamari were nicely seasoned with a good crispiness to them. The miso carbonara was packed with creaminess and umami from the miso. Overall, the food was seasoned well. We also got a complimentary cheesecake for our birthday celebrant which tied the dinner all together. It was a great finish. This place gets really busy and it's definitely worth the wait. If you're a bigger group, I recommend booking a reservation. They had lots of seatings and a great modern industrial design.

When I tell you this place serves some of the best ravioli I've ever had, you've got to believe me! This place, located in Mississauga, is a fantastic spot for enjoying food and drinks. During my visit, I tried their truffle fries (chef's kiss, simply amazing!), calamari and wings were both too good, Picanha sirloin steak with mashed potatoes, shrimp, and veggies. The portions were generous and the taste was quite decent. The highlight was their truffle mushroom ravioli--trust me, this was the star of the show! The combination of truffle oil, truffle cream, and mushrooms topped with parmesan created an out-of-this-world flavor. Lastly, the miso carbonara, a rich linguine in a miso sauce, was delightful and I loved every bite. I also tried their sangria and a cucumber-based mocktail. While the mocktail wasn't the best, the sangria was really good! If I ever come back here, it will definitely be for the ravioli!

(OVERALL RATING: 3.5) Came here with my boyfriend after hearing about this new spot and upon entering, I first noticed the the decor and layout is very nice, and has a lively atmosphere. We were seated near the back where the booths were and immediately noticed there were so many flies, not something you'd want to see when eating at a restaurant. However, service was friendly, my boyfriend and I both got the 7oz steak with veggies and mashed potatoes. We both really enjoyed it, steak was tender and gravy and mashed potatoes were very flavourful. Portion size is good as well. The only annoying thing about this experience were that the flies were literally flying all around us as we were trying to enjoy our meal. Would rate higher if not for this issue.

Decided to stop by for late night dinner. I was pleasantly surprised to see how visually appealing it is inside. There is a bar on one side, high table tops and booths. There are beautiful portraits up on walls, the feather lights & teal furniture. The ambiance was great, the music was bumping. The only negative was that it was considerably warm inside. Onto food itself, I tried the beef tacos and they were absolutely delicious, there was ample amount of beef on the taco and the guacamole paired really well. The truffle fries are the highlight at this place, so flavourful. The Margherita this crust stove oven pizza was good, the only issue I experienced was that at time certain parts of the pizza appeared to have viable/ significant amount of salt on top. I know depending on how the pizza is made, some are sprinkled with salt but this over empowered the flavour. The drinks were great! Over server was delightful, checked up on us occasionally and the food arrived in a timely manner despite it being busy.

Came here last night to celebrate my birthday made a reservation through OpenTable no problems there our waitress was phenomenal loved her. The music the vibes it was great between the three of us. We ordered the platter and it was the perfect amount of food. Everything was cooked to our liking and we upgraded to truffle fries, honestly, there is nothing negative about this experience, and I would love to come back here again.

I finally got to try it and I was certainly satisfied! From the outside, it looked eye catching and I believe in the warmer weather, they have a patio area. Upon entering the place, it was a buzzing place with the bar area to our left and the open pizza area to our right. There's a seating area which reminded me of Fresh. We were seated at the turquoise booth area and I love the colour and chic environment. Service was wonderful. The washroom was clean and nice. Fig & Brie pizza was amazing, especially the dough. It came out hot and chewy. Loved it!! It was my first time eating a sweet and savoury pizza. My partner had the hamburger and fries. I had the Mediterranean bowl. The salad portion was good, but the falafel was dry. I would have liked it with more pomegranate seeds to add to the acidity and a punch of taste. We were too full for dessert. Next time!! Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Taps. The menu is on the pricier side for this sleek restaurant. So, treat yourself once in a while!

I came on a Friday night at 9pm and it was packed! It took 30+ mins to wait for a seat at the bar, and the hostess offered us champagne while we waited - so nice! The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, and I liked that they had a DJ come in. We ordered the burrata plate & shared a pepperoni pizza. It was both really good! I'm definitely coming back :)

I'd been excited to try this new location in Guelph for awhile now. I'm a cocktail lover + gin…read morelover. Based on their Instagram they'd worked out early opening kinks and were displaying some really cool cocktails. We arrived on a Friday night in August around 8pm. Seating upstairs in the restaurant was pretty full but there were one or two tables. We were a group of 5 and the hostess at the door seems VERY flustered. We later agreed that she must have been very new. She sat us in front of their front window (garage door style) that was open. It was a chilly night - like maybe 16 by this point. We asked if she could close the door. She said she would check. 5 minutes later, nothing. She cane back with waters and 1/2 the glasses were dirty. Then a waitress came over and we asked if we wanted drinks but we had not been given menus by hostess...ha so we asked for those. We then again if she could close the garage door and she said no. So we asked if we could be moved somewhere else. We were moved to a table meant for 4 but at least we were warm! We ordered drinks and they arrived very quickly- I was surprised at how quick. We ordered meals too...however, these took over and hour to come out. So that wasn't great- and what we ordered were not complicated (burger, charcuterie, fries...). I tried the Brussels which were just okay - the batter on them was weird. The charcuterie board at $22 was kind of boring g and lacked variety. Then our waiter once it was bill time disappeared. So we flagged down the hostess and she said she would get the machine and out bills....well that never happened. So another waitress walked by and we snagged her and settled up. We decided to head down to the speakeasy to check that out. It was much better. Everything was cheaper (cash only) and it was like chilling in a big basement with lots of old overstuffed couches. It was full when we first went down at 10:30 but within 15 it was nearly empty. Very chill and a good winter hangout. Two tips : cash only and the password changes weekly and is on their Instagram (however we were not asked for it)

My daughter loves their burgers which are made from beef they grind themselves, so you can have it cooked to whichever doneness you want, even rare. I want to give them particular kudos for my visit last night when I showed up at about 9:15 and told them that about 9 of my friends would be joining me. They quickly put some tables together and got me a drink. When my friends started arriving it turned out that there were more like 20 of us. They added more tables and quickly got drinks going. The food took as long as you would expect for a table of 20, not a moment longer. Everyone's food came out at the same time, hot and delicious. I had the grilled halibut which was super fresh and beautifully prepared. Everyone in our party commented positively on the dishes they ordered. That must be an incredibly well-run kitchen. Thanks Gin Mill for a lovely after-event evening. One suggestion: an espresso machine or at least coffee and tea.

Each dish has elevated twist, and the price is so reasonable and even generous for the quality. Cocktails are excellent (lots of line-ups). They also serve nice choices of local craft beers on tap. We ordered: (Food) #Cast Iron Baked Brie fresh baked brie with house-made wild berry compote, candied pecans, prosciutto, garlic crostini $17 : This served as perfect appetizer for 3 of us. Enjoyable. Variety of ways to enjoy the baked brie. #Canadian Striploin 7oz striploin, garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables: We tried different & great steak dish here before, and this one is also EXCELLENT - the on-point seasonings, perfectly med-rare. Roasted veggies and mashed potato leave its own flavour and texture with right amount of seasonings. #Stuffed Mushroom Ravioli stuffed with wild mushrooms, tossed in a beurre blanc sauce, topped with fresh Parmesan: I wished the ravioli itself had more mushroom-forward flavor, and the wrapper had more delicacy (in terms of thickness and texture). However, I loved the beurre Blanc sauce - it was foamy - making the butter-ly and creamy sauce feel light in the mouth. Nice hint of tangy-ness. #Herb Crusted Salmonwith garlic herb mashed potatoes, grilled seasonal vegetables, and beurre blanc sauce: The same sauce as ravioli, that matched with salmon well. (Cocktails) #Fig Fizz: With Durham distillery Gin, Raspberry Liqueur, fig jam, lemon juice, honey syrup, soda # Lavender cosmopolitan # Passion Prosecco Martini # Spicy Hibiscus Margarita All the cocktails were presented beautifully. Today's highlight was Spicy Hibiscus Margarita. (Dessert) Chocolate Espresso Martini Cake rich vanilla cake, mascarpone, house-made chocolate espresso mousse $10: Essentially, tiramisu. lol. Nicely presented. This place is versatile for us. Just for snack, just for cocktails, just for local beer, and elevated food experiences. Promising satisfying experience in each occasion. So blessed to have this place in my neighbourhood.

The menu leans fusion, so there was a lot to try, and overall it felt like a fun place to share plates and compare notes with the table. The cocktails definitely stood out for being stronger than the usual lighter, sweeter drinks you get elsewhere, and the smoky cinnamon one was probably the most memorable. For appetizers, the beef tartare with bone marrow was the clear winner for me. The tartare tasted bright and fresh, and the marrow was rich without feeling greasy. The mussels were also enjoyable, mostly because they were fresh and sat in a creamy broth that made the whole dish feel comforting. We also tried the octopus with pumpkin purée, which had a nice chewy texture and a lovely sweetness from the purée, although a slight charred taste came through more than I personally wanted. For mains, a few dishes landed better than others. The ribeye with chimichurri was one of the stronger choices, tender, properly cooked medium rare, and especially good with that sharp, herbaceous sauce. The ribs were also very tender and full of flavor. The salmon in puff pastry was enjoyable enough that I would order it again, even though the pastry itself was a little softer than I expected. The udon carbonara was decent and comforting, but probably not the most memorable thing on the table, and the signature chicken had flavorful meat even if the rice leaned a bit too soft for me. One small complaint I kept coming back to was the bread, which tasted more charred than I like. Still, Wilcox feels like a nice little spot for a relaxed dinner with drinks, especially if you go in the mood to share, explore the menu, and order a few of the stronger dishes.
