I stayed at the Delta hotel while in Canada for business and this restaurant is located…read moreinside/connected. I decided to try it out and I am so glad I did. The bartender was fantastic and helped to explain the drinks and answer questions (young guy with bright blue eyes). I decided on the "careful Todd...it's hot" which was cinnamon white rum, cointreau, lemon & chocolate...OH EM GEE. This is a comfort drink...I should have asked how to make this because this is something I would love to sip on after a long day or before bed! And the poutine...wow...I only had poutine once before (5 years ago in Vancouver) but this poutine was soooo much better...the flavor of the "gravy" ...jeez...i just need a cup of this to dip my fries in instead of ketchup...where can I find this in Texas????? And the pizza...it was called "For Gord" , seriously the flavor was so good...better than pizza I had in Chicago!!!! Maybe it was the black pepper maple drizzle...not sure but it was fantastic! I don't usually give 5 stars but this place was worth it and the bartender was fabulous...I wish I had gotten his name.

The space actually looks like a high end bistro, so that in itself was nice, as I don't always expect this level of decor in a Delta hotel. For dinner we tried a margherita pizza and the chicken wings. Margherita pizza was pretty good - it had a thin crust and had a slight chew. They have a proper pizza oven, so that definitely helps. Chicken wings with applewood smoke dry rub was ok. It was prepared well, but the dry rub was very mild, almost no flavour. The bartender was handling service because we went during off-hours, so he was mostly focused on customers at the bar. He was nice enough, but didn't check up on us until we were already finished. For breakfast, we had the smoked salmon benny and avocado toast. Both were good. Service was a bit slow, but pleasant. Overall, I was happy with both meals. The food was better than I had expected. Service was always pleasant, but a bit slow both times. I would consider returning if in Guelph again.

A varied menu, with consideration to varied needs and attention to provenance. Finally, an inspired cocktail menu, with plenty of options for the sober folk at your table. I've been here a few times and it's a favourite. Hits just the right notes.

Friendly service and excellent food and drinks…read more Caesar: We'd never had this classic Canadian drink before and my partner really liked it. It was too spicy for me, but I could definitely appreciate it. Kind of like a quality shrimp cocktail sauce drink? Weird but good. Mostly salty/savory! Calm Collins: I'm not sure if I felt calm or not after this, but I enjoyed the drink nonetheless. Kind of like an arnold palmer, not too sweet or tangy. On the Wagon: Tastes just as described, though I think this one had dried lemon instead of candied ginger. A nice sipper, especially if you enjoy ginger drinks. 3 Sisters Salad: I love a Mendocino Farms Quinoa Kale salad (which I would order over most delicious junk food options), but this is likely my second favorite salad. The dressing is light and flavorful, slightly sweet, ever so slightly tangy. The puffed wild rice provided an excellent texture, very similar to crunchy quinoa. The chickpeas and corn added a savory and sweet mildly chewy texture. We added the trout and it was excellent on its own. Crispy skin, perfectly cooked and salted. Pan Roasted Chicken: I was surprised there was only one bone in this! The meat was tender and juicy, well cooked. I can't remember exactly how it tasted because we scarfed it down so fast, but trust that it was good. Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie: You can't have a meal without dessert. The pie filling is similar to halva - sweet, soft, light and fine. Great to share between two, but would also be excellent for one...
