Philip Secor ,at Verizon Wireless, was incredibly helpful! I went with the intention of upgrading and adding someone to my plan. Without feeling pressured, Philip explained options based on my needs and usage. Also, he addressed my concerns related to power outage options. He took the time to backup my information on my phone in iCloud. Unfortunately, Verizon Wireless had issues with its internet speed. Ultimately, Philip gave me written instructions on how to continue the back up at home on my high-speed Internet. I would definitely recommend Philip at Verizon Wireless! The salesman looked very professional and helpful, but unfortunately he wasn't very truthful about the ipad that I purchased. The associate forgot to enroll me in the program and when I called today, the manager initially said "there is nothing we can do. And that i should have noticed sooner." I have a same problem with the other Yelp! Reviewer. I bought 2 iPhone back in December, at that time Verizon have a promotion $300 trade in and $100 if we choose iPhone on credit each line. Last 2week ago I tried to call them about the $100 promotion because She(customer service that help my out at the beginning) told me the $100 will credit to my bill around 3billing. I speak to her and she said she was talking to the customer service about my rebate and will call me back but she never call me back. I called her back and she said she have not get the respond back from the store manager and she will call me back, but she never call me back(LIAR). Used to be a great, well-managed store. No more. Two years ago I purchased a Droid Moto from this Verizon store ("A"). They gave me the last phone in the store, but it didn't have a SIMM card that would work. I paid for the phone in Store A, and purchased all the upgrades and insurance. Since the SIMM card was not working and they did not have anymore, Tony the salesman in Store A, sent me to another Verizon at Sierra Madre Blvd and Colorado shopping center ("B") and they would get a SIMM card into the phone for me. So I traveled to the other side of town, per Tony's directions, and the salesgirl in Store B pulled a SIMM card from a new phone they had and replaced the bad SIMM in my new phone. They should just cancelled what I purchased at Store A and let me purchase the new phone they had at Store B. But they didn't think like that. Not long after, I found the phone I purchase was totally faulty! I went back to Verizon B, and they exchanged it (probably for the phone they took the SIMM card from). After less than a week with this Moto Droid phone, I realized I would probably be better of with a Samsung phone so I returned it. Verizon B store salesman exchanged the Moto for Samsung and charged me more money, that's beside the point. I got the phone I wanted. The only problem which I found out last week, Store B failed to transfer the insurance policy to the new phone! They had explained that I needed to be sure and register for it, but did not do the exchange order with ProtectCell. I was not going to go back to Store A. Fast forward almost two years later, my Samsung battery will not charge. The USB port has corroded and I need to do a buy back with the insurance, but no one changed the policy over to the Samsung phone! So I go back to Verizon store A and ask for an exchange order. There were 3 sales personnel there. One was cutting the split ends of her hair, the other was picking his nose and the not-so-friendly one asked me if I could be helped. I showed her my receipt and she said I didn't purchase my phone there, and the Verizon store ("B") was now out of business. She offered no suggestions, just stared at me and said there was nothing she could do. I told her I would never return to this store again. I went to COSTCO a couple days later and the sales girl showed me options and gave me valuable information. From now on, I will purchased my phones at COSTCO and avoid Verizon stores ESPECIALLY THIS ONE! Such horrible service and only stupid work there (except for when I purchased my second phone about 10 years ago). read more

Darren sold me BOGO Samsung Galaxy Phones. I asked if there was a requirement for these phones, and he said no. Per Darren, after 2-3 billing cycles I would see the BOGO take effect. 2 weeks after purchase I called to confirm there was not a requirement. And were assured there was not. On the 4th billing cycle after still seeing charges for both phones I placed a call to Verizon support and an Unlimited plan was required for that deal. Now I'm stuck paying for both phones or get an unlimited plan. I hope the other employees are not as incompetent as Darren is. read more

The employees at this store are a bit rude. Verizon sent me into this store to pick up a phone I ordered online. I called the store in advance to ensure I had everything I needed to pick up the phone. The employee on the phone gave me the wrong information. Then when I did not have the proper information in the store, the woman acted like I was simply wasting her time was when I was the only customer in the store, picking up an extremely expensive purchase. I felt uncomfortable because of how this woman acted like I was an intruder in her space, wasting her time. The next day I had to exchange the phone, which Verizon approved online. However this store does not approve exchanges from Verizon's online store. The mistake was Verizon's part. However, again the employees were rude and acted like I was being difficult when I'm literally just trying to carry out a simple transaction and following Verizon's instructions exactly. I rarely write reviews, but my experience with this retailer was so terrible that others need to know about it. I decided to switch from AT&T to Verizon and upgrade to the iPhone 7 primarily to take advantage of the Verizon's promotion, in early September, to get $650 in bill credits for a trade-in of my iPhone 6 plus. I had a great chat with a GoWireless employee in Orange County about the offer, so I decided to pull the trigger at this Pasadena location, which is closer to my home. The gigantic Verizon signage on outside of the building and clean, modern interior gives one the perception that you are dealing with a premium dealer that essentially is no different than going through an official Verizon retail store. That is, until you start dealing with them, and then the red flags start appearing... First red flags: Additional Charges I had the unfortunately luck of dealing with certain employee, which I will refer to as "T". The wait was relatively short and the interaction was to the point, because I already knew what I wanted. T explained to me the offer and it did not disagree with what I had read online and discussed with the previous GoWireless associate. Basically, my phone qualified for the offer and the process was to submit an application and when the phone comes in, register an account with Verizon and bring my old phone in so that I could start receiving the $650 trade-in credits on my monthly bill. However, one charge that seemed slightly shady was that I would have to either buy $60 in accessories from the store, or pay a mandatory $20 charge for walking out without an accessory because as T said that Apple "does not like you to walk out with your phone unprotected". WTF? Second red flag: Authorization So I said, what the heck, it's only $20 and proceeded. But during the application process, they asked me to bring in my social security card for authorization. I've never had any dealer ask for that. Who carries around their social security card? So I drive home and make a photocopy and bring it back in the same day. T says he isn't sure if they'll take that but he'll try. After he faxed it, the authorization didn't come in immediately because he said it was a Sunday (even though he had talked to an authorization agent just a hour earlier). I felt very uncomfortable letting these guys scan my Social Security card. Second red flag: No communication So the transition ended with just a handshake and T promising that he would notify me when the new phone came in, expected in mid October. When I asked for how we would communicate on status, he just said to call the store... No email confirmation, no receipt, nothing. I was uncomfortable with this so the next week, I drove back and requested some documentation that I had placed the order. So T printed me an order summary. A couple of weeks later, at the end of September, I called to get status. Every time I called, an associate told me that T was not working that day and when asked for status, they all told me that only he could get status on my order, which is very shady. There were about 3-4 phone interactions with other associates and none of them could provide status and promised to get a message to T to call me back, which he did not do. Third red flag and the final straw: Lies So I get concerned because on 9/30, I read that Verizon has ended their $650 trade-in offer. Well, I put in my order weeks earlier so I should be safe, right? So I call them again. The next day on 10/1, T finally calls me and gives me some excuses about being busy and sick. Then he proceeds to inform me that during his time off, my order was put on hold and got cancelled. So does this mean that there is no way to get the $650 trade-in? He says they cannot honor it. HIs explanation is the Verizon must have cancelled it. So i drive to the official Verizon retailer in Pasadena to see if they can honor the offer that they mistakenly cancelled. After talking to an associate there, I was explained that since GoWireless is a third party retailer, all phone orders are really managed by their system...Verizon does not cancel their orders. So not only was I given the runaround by GoWireless for weeks with no order confirmation, they lie to me about cancelling in the order. Oh, and those accessory charges? Third party retailers can charge whatever they want. So I am out of luck with the $650 offer and they have completely wasted my time for weeks, when I could have gone somewhere else to get the offer. Lesson learned: Never go to Verizon Authorized Dealers, especially this one! Always deal directly with Verizon or their retail stores. Their practices are extremely shady! I am considering reporting this dealer to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Please note this is not a Verizon store, this is a Verizon Authorized Dealers- a third party vendor. They can charge you whatever they want, and Verizon can't help you because this is a third party. You will have to go back to the store and hope that you can get your money back.... I went to the store, set up a new line, got my new phone and walked out extremely happy with the service I received. But I soon found down I was misled by the store representative when I called the real Verizon customer service to ask about my bill. They will tell you that you have to pay this X amount because Verizon required you to pay it to set up/ upgrade your phone, but they lied. And they make you feel better because the phone comes with free accessories when they actually charged you for it. Make sure you call Verizon or go online to see how much is the tax for your new phone and that is the only amount you have to pay in store because Verizon will bill you later for your phone plan and the installed payment for your phone. Please note that the current sale tax in Pasadena is 9%, so do the math, if the retail full price for your phone is $600, the only amount you should pay in store is $54. Real Verizon store do not charge customer to set up a line or set up your new phone, but Go Wireless will tell you that Verizon charges you for it which is not true. Beware they will tell you the set up fee is $40 but I will give you discount only $20. You don't have to pay this fee at the store. A real $20 activation fee that is required by Verizon will appear on your first month bill. Lesson learned for me: Never go to Verizon Authorized Dealers, especially this one! Always deal directly with Verizon or their retail stores. Nothing ( accessories) comes for free with any phone and Go Wireless representative/salesman can be so nice but don't trust them, they want your money, and they make you feel good while smoothly taking your money away. And trust me trying to get your money back is not easy.... read more

Ended up getting charged on our plan for a 4G hotspot that we wanted to take on vacation for a week, now we have been paying for it for over a year because they put it in our contract. Terrible experience where I got swindled into paying much much more for a phone than I was led to believe. Buyer beware! My sales rep Kendall engaged in deceptive sales strategy and withheld certain key information which would have greatly informed by purchase decision. I came into the store with a broken screen on my iPhone 5s. He told me it would cost the same amount of money ($100) to replace the screen using my Verizon insurance as it would to upgrade to the new iPhone 6s. So naturally I chose to upgrade. So I spent the next 45 minutes setting up the new phone. It wasn't until the setup was complete (he had taken the new phone out of the box, transferred all of my apps from the cloud, etc) that he asked for my credit card to pay. That's when he revealed I'd be paying double the price (a little over $200). When I a sked what was going on, Kendall nonchalantly said the new phone was $100 plus tax. He failed to disclose that the tax itself was $100, essentially doubling the price. I expressed my frustration and anger that he hadn't disclosed that fact earlier, since by this point I had already spent an hour with him and I would have chosen to replace my screen instead had I been given this price information in the beginning. His response was unimpressive. By this point I was running short on time so I decided to just go ahead and purchase the new IPhone 6s, which Kendall now made me believe was more like $200 instead of his earlier promise that it was $100. I felt taken advantage of to say the least but was anxious to leave the store. So then Kendall had me sign a few screens on the credit card reader and the transaction was complete. He failed to walk me through my new plan, he only said I would be saving $20/month for the same service. He didn't walk me through any of the individual charges. I made the mistake of trusting him on his word as I was now n a rush to get to other appointments. So imagine my dismay when I arrived home hours later followng other appointments and reviewed the receipt/agreement he placed in my bag. On it was a disclosure that I would be paying $34/month for the next 24 months for the actual phone - meaning the actual cost of the phone was not $100 as Kendall had originally told me, nor was it a little over $200 as he later revealed, but I would actually be paying more like $700 for the phone over the 24 month period. I had gotten swindled big time and was extremely upset. So I went back to the store the next day to complain and Kendall wasn't there so I spoke to the manager, who was shirking any responsibility and instead said that nobody else complained about this. He said he couldn't comment on Kendall's deceptive sales techniques because he wasn't there and couldn't verify them. I told him he was the manager and the buck stops with him, but his response was defensive. The manager did say I could come back and return the phone (restocking fee could apply) - since I didn't bring the box with me I would have to come back to the store later that day or at another time. I have since been unable to return to the store as I am on bed rest for the last week of my pregnancy. And next week once I have the baby I will be unable to come back to the store for a number of weeks as I recover from surgery. So all this to say, what could have been a pleasant experience replacing the screen on my phone using my Verizon insurance turned into an extremely frustrating and upsetting experience where I basically got swindled into buying the new iphone and paying much, much more than I was led to believe. This is simply unacceptable. I have been a long time Verizon customer and expect honesty and integrity from the company and its employees. Neither was given to me last week when I walked into the Verizon store, was taken advantage of and basically fed a bunch of lies about what I would pay for the new iphone. At the very least, Verizon should cancel the monthly charge for the new phone from my bill for the next 24 months so that I'm no longer paying for this - it's the least Verizon can do given my troubles and the level of frustration I have endured, in addition to the loss of trust given Kendall's deceptive sales techniques, which reflect poorly on Verizon as a whole. read more

I can honestly say that I received the absolute worst customer service of my life at this place. It. Was. Sooooooo. Bad. My husband and I went in because the camera on my iphone 5 stopped working. I had insurance on the device and wanted to check into getting it replaced. Instead, we were worked over by a salesperson who sold us on the virtues of a really crappy droid that was suuuuuper slow and not user friendly. She was vague about the terms and we thought that we could just try it out for a few months and if I didn't like it, I could just start over with an iphone once our contract was up in several months. Once we got out to the car we realized that we were basically starting over on a 2 year payment plan for the stupid droid. We went right back into the store and said that we wanted to return the phone. They said that we would have to pay the $50 restocking fee (everything was unopened, just as it was when they gave it to us). We took it home and mulled it over for a few hours. I decided that rather than fight them on it, I would just learn my lesson and pay the stupid fee to be rid of the phone and be done with these crooks. So I went back. I was informed that I could not return it right then, that I would have to come back when a manager was present. Uhhhhhhh...... Okay, so I asked when a manager would be present. They said they did. Not. Know. By this point I was really, really mad. They were very disrespectful and unwilling to help. At one point, one of the employees looked at me very annoyed, shook his head back and forth, and said, "you're really just not getting it!!" OMG! So I left and my husband took the phone back (yes, paying the fee) a few days later. All of that was bad enough. But THEN.......i received a text message a month later saying that they had not received the droid back!!! A call to Verizon and we learned that this GoWireless had not processed our return and Verizon was about to charge our account over $400 for the device. If you've made it all the way to the end of this review, then you will know to never, ever step a foot into this place. read more

Wow - talk about a total clusterfark. Went in to upgrade my S4 to a Turbo 64. After being told they couldn't take a Verizon Wireless recycling credit, we told them to back it out. Get home and realize my wife's number is on my phone and her phone doesn't have a number associated with it. Will not be back after we've been going there forever. Should've taken a hint when Ken the manager (who was 100% awesome) split. Luckily, a call to VZW customer service should straighten it out. Update: Dimitri with VZW customer service totally ROCKED!! Not only did he straighten everything out but was able to take care of our initial request. Update #2: Props to GoWireless for being on top of it. Had to unexpectedly change phone carriers and went to Verizon after being recommended it for years. I was greeted by Michael A. immediately upon entering. He was super friendly and informative after I asked about the pros and cons between committing to a 2 year contract versus monthly device payment. He even patiently waited while I crunched numbers, despite the store nearing closing hour. At the end of my first visit, he told me his availability and contact info, gave me time to think about what plan suited me best, and let me come back on my own. He was the exact opposite of pushy salesmen: straight to the point and didn't try to get me to spend more money than I needed to. What he didn't know was that I went to another Verizon store earlier that day, asking for the same assistance and was almost scammed out of spending $200 more than I needed to. I was extremely upset that they would try to take advantage of a potential new customer and approached this Pasadena store pessimistic and defeated. I'm glad Michael was able to restore my faith. I decided on switching to Verizon the day after speaking to Michael and could've easily gone anywhere or return to this Pasadena location early and speak to a different representative but I decided to wait for the next day Michael was in to sign up with him. Again, he was extremely informative, made sure all my questions were answered thoroughly before signing any contracts. We even had a little hiccup as the phone color I wanted was out of stock at this location but he called up a sister location and reserved my phone there. Seriously the best customer service I could've asked for. Thanks so much Michael! Can't say much about the overall location seeing as I spoke exclusively to Michael but the other employees were friendly and seemed to try to help their customers as much as they could. read more

Some people think this is a good location, but it isn't. I was getting an item that was $12.99, when I go to the cash register they charged me $16. Then when I return the item, the woman working in customer service gave me attitude. I recommend to never go to this location ever, just go to a different location or shop online. read more

Twice I have gone in there to get a new phone and they have worked with me to find the best price and plan for my needs. No pressure up-selling or surprises after you commit. Today Miriam helped me find a way to purchase a new 64MB iPhone by laying out the different routes I could go. We have another Verizon store in Pasadena, but service is not equal and this outlet on Foothill is the one I would recommend to friends. read more
