Vera's Kitchen is one of our absolute favorite places to eat. My partner and I come here often, and every visit reminds us why we love it so much. The food is always delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. You definitely get great value for your money. What really makes Vera's Kitchen special, though, is the people. It's a family-run restaurant, and you can feel the warmth and care in both the food and the service. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they make you feel right at home every time you walk in. If you're looking for a place with amazing food, big portions, fair prices, and genuinely kind people, Vera's Kitchen is a must-visit. We'll definitely keep coming back!"

Went to era's for lunch today. We decided to share the club sandwich and fries. It was plenty for 2 people and reasonably priced for the amount of food we got.most people inside were eating breakfast food so next time I will order breakfast and see how it is. Definitely a nice clean establishment.

Vera's kitchen is a quaint little brunch place in charming Waxhaw. We were visiting the area and I looked for a good breakfast place on Yelp. We like Mexican food, so this place caught my eye. I like that they serve both Mexican dishes alongside American, which accommodates more tastes. We had barely entered and were sitting down when Vera herself cheerfully greeted us. As we looked over the menu, she came over to say hello and welcome us to her restaurant. Her personal touch matches the small-town charm. My wife loves chilaquiles which didn't appear on the menu, but Vera said no problem. I ordered the huevos rancheros and my son ordered tacos. We also had coffees, which were excellent - I know because it tasted great and didn't require cream or sugar. The food was great, and we made a point to visit once more over our 6-day trip. Vera is sweet and her crew obviously take pride in serving delicious food with authenticity and heart. Waxhaw is lucky to have Vera's Kitchen.

A nice little spot with a great atmosphere, service and breakfast. Had 2 eggs, bacon and a biscuit. The bacon was crispy, the eggs cooked correctly and the biscuit was on point. The service was fantastic. We will be back.

A bright and cheerful restaurant. We were greeted by Mrs. Vera as we sat down for breakfast. Breakfast is now served all day besides lunch. I ordered the turkey sausage with 2 eggs but I was never asked how I wanted my eggs plus I forgot to tell them. I got scrambled eggs unexpectedly . Also I thought my turkey sausage was over cooked and a bit chewy. My dining mates veggie omelet and hash browns looked great and he enjoyed his meal. The coffee was fresh and good. Food was hot and plated okay. The menu features an assortment of typical breakfast choices ( eggs, omelets, pancakes, French toast etc) and lunch ( burgers, sandwiches, lunch plates , salads, fries) and Friday and Saturday dinners featuring Mexican specialties plus the lunch menu. Prices mostly reasonable, plus a kids menu. I would certainly return and try something from the lunch menu.

It took a while to get our drinks and they were not busy. If they were busy I was willing to overlook that but they were not so not sure what happened but we did eventually get our drinks. We started with the Emmet's Trio and the German beef sliders. The trio was just ok. The pickles were the star of that dish. The tomatoes were bland and the eggs were also just ok. Next we had the sliders. The pretzel bun was great, the burger ok but again lacked flavor. I think if there was more of the mustard, it might have helped but disappointed. We tried one more dish, the buffalo chicken dip. It was also not bad just not great and lacked really any heat. It did have a good amount of chicken so there was a positive. The chips were just ok. Throughout the meal we really only saw our server a few times, drinks ran empty so not impressed. Emmet's wasn't awful but they didn't do anything that was great and leave me wanting to come back. It was just ok.

It's the kind of place that feels notably special, distinguished and high end without ever feeling stuffy. Everyone is warm and professional, and the food is absolutely worth every penny. During our first visit, I took a chance and ordered the grits. I normally avoid restaurant grits because they're almost always bland, flavorless and gelatinous. But the grits at Easy Like Sunday were completely different in the best way. Creamy with the slightest grainy texture and so perfectly seasoned that you don't need to add butter, salt, pepper or anything else. I had been daydreaming about those grits for two years. We finally made it back this past Friday and arrived when the doors opened at 9:00am. We were seated immediately. I ordered the Little Bit of Everything with eggs, bacon, those unforgettable grits and a thick, fluffy, delicious buttermilk pancake. That first spoonful of grits tasted exactly the way I remembered, maybe even better. My eyes actually welled up with tears. I know that sounds extreme but I'm not exaggerating. After waiting two years to taste them again, they felt familiar and comforting, like coming home. Our waitress, Diana, made the morning even more special. She was warm, welcoming and accommodating. When I told her I could nearly cry over those grits, she didn't make me feel silly or dramatic. She agreed saying,"Oh, I know! We have the best grits!" She said she completely understood why that first bite made me feel emotional. Being served by Diana felt like being taken care of by an old friend. We had never met her before, yet she treated us as though she had known us for years. Easy Like Sunday is a hidden little treasure tucked away across the street from Park Road Shopping Center. It's the kind of place you take someone special for a first date, an anniversary, a milestone, a birthday or simply a morning you want to remember. The atmosphere is cozy and polished, the food is wonderful, and Diana is an absolute gem. We cannot wait to return!

Ube has such a naturally rich, nutty, and creamy flavor that I expected the pancake to have plenty of that character. Instead, it was dry, lacked moisture and flavor, and honestly tasted more like a regular pancake with ube coloring than an actual ube pancake. We also ordered the French toast and a cup of coffee, and the total came out to around $47. I'm glad we gave it a try, but overall, the meal was pretty underwhelming. The service was the highlight, but the food was just so-so.

I'm obsessed with the Reuben egg rolls, and the fish and chips are to die for. They also have Magners, which I love and don't see on many menus, so that's always a major bonus. There's also a huge outdoor patio with great vibes, especially when you want to enjoy your meal and drinks outside. It's not necessarily my favorite place to bring my kids, but it's a fantastic spot for a night out with friends. My only real request is for more vegetarian options. My best friend is vegetarian, and there aren't many choices for her right now. Please add some great vegetarian dishes so I can bring her more often! Overall, Mary O'Neil's has delicious pub favorites, a fun atmosphere, live music, a great patio, and Magners. They were busy and were telling everyone who walked in that the wait would be 20 minutes or more. I noticed a few open seats at the counter and asked if we could sit there. They said yes, and we were seated right away. It would've been helpful if they had offered that option to people waiting instead of customers having to ask. We already knew what we wanted to order, but our waitress wouldn't let us place our full order because she said she needed to take the orders of people who had been seated before us first. That seemed a little inefficient and made the experience feel more disorganized than it needed to be. Overall, the food was a solid 4/5 and we really enjoyed it. Finally made it to Poppyseed Kitchen, one of my friend's favorite spots, so obviously we had to…read moreventure down for her birthday! And I can officially see why she loves it. This is the cutest little gem tucked away at the end of a strip mall. The second you walk in, you're greeted by a fun poppy mural and a display of all the delicious pastries of the day. Immediately I'm like, okay, I'm going to like it here! We had about a 20-minute wait, but thankfully there was plenty of time for mimosas and catch up chitchat! And honestly, the time flew by... we weren't even finished with them before we were seated. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the service was on point from there. Someone filled our water glasses almost immediately after we sat down, and we never had a dry cup. Mimosa refills were quick, too! I also grabbed a chai latte that came in the cutest old-school homemade-looking cup and was perfectly warm and spiced. Soooo good! For food, two of us ordered the Fresh Pick Sandwich with fresh tomatoes, stracciatella, kale pesto aioli, arugula, fresh basil and balsamic glaze on perfectly toasted sourdough. I added avocado and bacon and basically turned it into the most deliciously elevated BLT of my life. I also made a pro side swap for my side and went with the cheesy grits. They were delicious. No notes! My friend got the Fresh Pick without tomatoes and added prosciutto, and another friend ordered The Grit with shrimp, and that plate was BEAUTIFUL. Sweet pepper and tomato sauce, mushrooms, crispy onions, arugula and an egg over a plate of grits. Between us, there were clean plates, full bellies and a whole lot of "what are we trying next time?" conversations happening. The food came out quickly, the service was great, the atmosphere was adorable, and it was just an all-around excellent brunch. My only complaints? 1-Why do they have the cutest pastry merch for kids but not adults... I need that "I'm flaky" croissant shirt lol! And 2-Why is this little gem not closer to me?! But clearly that just means I need to make the drive again. Poppyseed Kitchen has officially been added to the "worth the trip" list!

A rather stark, high-ceiling open floor plan with superb air conditioning. Bring a wrap as it does get chilly. Plates, bowls, sandwiches and salads, along with a kid's menu and miscellaneous snacky items. Prices range from $13 to $18. Decent portions. I had the The Bisquit and Gravy ($12) after asking for a sample taste of their gravy. I have had horrible biscuit and gravy dishes in many places where the gravy was just cooked flowered grease. Not at Poppyseed! It was excellent, flavorful and if you ask for more, you will get it. I did. Wife agreed on the gravy. Wife had the Poppyseed Salad ($12) which was so loaded with cucumbers that annoyed her. Very little lettuce, but lots of other hard veggies. She was not happy. My second choice that lunch day was listed as The Ranch Hash ($18). A fellow diner across from us ordered this hash and said he loved it. It did look good with braised brisket, potato hash and two eggs to order. A very fine portion and will be my order when we return. Parking galore. You will need to turn right when you exit on to Tom Hall Street, unless you get a lucky traffic gap. We will be back, for sure.

Bottom line...both visits were incredible and from what I understand they totally revamped their menu 10 days ago. The French Onion Soup was rich and flavorful while the Street Corn Ribs were declared "the best evah"!!! Loved the Bourbon Bacon Burger...nicely done medium and the jam was a solid enhancement to the burger. Loved the Cajun Alfredo, could have used a bit more Cajun "kick" but was a solid dish. The Lamb Lollipops as an appetizer is just not enough...could have consumed a dozen of them. Lastly...the Brule Bourbon Apple Bread Pudding was really good and extremely sweet.

We had a fish and chips and a steak. Our appetizer was the Irish Nachos and we shared the chocolate bomb cake. The Irish Nachos were good although there was a lot of dips all over the potatoes. Maybe one on the side would work better. The fish and chips were really good. Fresh fries were tasty and crispy and still soft inside. The fish was crispy and had great flavor. The steak was cooked well. The chocolate cake was delicious. Overall we felt that some of the menu choices were odd as this is a newer restaurant and a couple of the restaurants in the area serve literally the same menu items. It would have been nice to get something completely different. But that being said, they go all in on the macabre theme of Jekyll and Hyde and the items around the restaurant and the quirky things with the food (like the hatchet in our cake and the fake blood made of jam) made it fun.
