Another 5 star experience at Poppyseed! This is truly one of my fiance and I's fav spots!!! We love making the trek from Huntersville to come here. They never disappoint and I can't recommend them enough. This review is from a few weeks ago but I had to share. We also enjoy their fresh, scratch made food!!! We had another great meal of delicious pastries that you literally can't find anywhere else. I had their french toast and bacon, my fiance had their shrimp and grits and you can just taste the difference in their food. They're making everything in house and it's noticeable. They're always busy and for good reason. The food is worth the wait and the drive. Can't wait to go back soon!!!!

This was my second time visiting with friends for Sunday brunch. The first time we came early enough we were sat right away and the second time we came a little later and there was 45 minute wait. There was a slight kerfuffle with seating where we thought we were getting sat and ended up having to wait 30 minutes but the hostess was super nice and gave us coffee while we waited. The food was excellent, as was the service and the little patio they have out back is great and covered with oversized umbrellas. Will definitely return!

I've come here more times than I can recall. I drive here just for coffee more often than food but I have had the pleasure of trying a few items from their menu. I've tried their breakfast burrito, avocado BLT, and brisket. The burrito is made well & pairs with the local hot sauce they serve. The avocado BLT has been my favorite, I add a fried egg to it. I was saddened to hear their menu changed for fall but cannot wait to have it again soon. Their blueberry muffins are also really good. I've only ever eaten inside but why also have outdoor seating. The staff are always so pleasant. I can't think of a time I've not had a good experience.. whether dining in or having food to go.

Poppyseed Kitchen is goodness. Stopped in and was promptly seated. Decided to go with the Biscuit and Gravy with eggs over easy. It took a while for the food to come out which was strange because it wasn't that busy yet. Food eventually arrived and the egg was cooked perfectly. The gravy was delicious but the star was the biscuits. They were fantastic. Only drawback for this visit was the service in general not just from the kitchen but also the waitress. Just very slow and again it wasn't that busy yet so not sure what the issue was but the food as noted as really good. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast, stop by Poppyseed.

Food is unbelievable. The ranch hash bowl was the best breakfast meal I've ever had in my life

I take myself here on a date every Sunday. And for good reason. I can always rely on Poppyseed to come through with delicious, delicate pastries, a warm, inviting atmosphere and service that is never short of above-and-beyond. While my meal today took some time to come out, the team lovingly let me know (without my asking, I might add) that they took a percentage off of my bill AND had a raspberry croissant with my name on it to take home-to apologize for any inconvenience. After my breakfast, I came home, more than happy with my experience (as usual), and the first thing I did was call my lawyer to rewrite my will and put Poppyseed Kitchen as the #1 beneficiary.

Pancakes and chai latte were so amazing. Super friendly service! We love it here and will definitely be back

Too much going on with the grits (for me)

Today wasn't a good experience. Waited forever for our server to come to us (I understand it was busy), our fruit tasted like onion (must've used the same knife to cut). The grits is too busy. Too many things going on. The chicken sandwich was amazing though. Will be coming back for that. Ambiance is great.

There's a lot of competition these days among breakfast restaurants but I believe Poppyseed Kitchen is the best in the area. This review is a bit of a cheat as I've been here umpteen times previously. However my prior visits were all for pickup orders; my practice is to only post for restaurants I've dined in. So this time I stayed and was rewarded. The Stuffed French Toast, always delicious, was even better without taking it home. The bread still had firmness which gave the dish much more texture. I recommend pairing the toast with a side of bacon, the crispy saltiness provides a wonderful contrast. There are many other excellent choices on the menu. The Ranch Hash is my personal savory favorite. The brisket is in bite-size chunks which add flavor and "heft" to the rosemary potatoes . And try sunny-side up eggs on top for some runny yolk with the hash. Trust me, it's a great combination. And don't forget fresh-baked pastries. A definite highlight, the menu is changed - daily? At least, they never have the same options when I've visited. Homemade pop-tarts, anyone? The service is excellent , the coffee is delicious. And hey, Bob Ross was on the television painting fluffy little clouds as entertainment. Highly recommended!

Super cute place, great for kids they had games and extras to entertain little ones. The service was incredible and the food was just as good! Would highly recommend.

We went here, a while in the area for a volleyball tournament after seeing the reviews on yelp. So glad we did. The service and the food were excellent. There was a muffin I wanted that they were out of and the sweet waitress brought me a cookie free of charge that she thought I would like based on the muffin. Can't wait to go back.

My go to spot- always delicious. Highly recommend a side of ranch to go with their deliciously crispy fries. Tried my friends iced latte - delish and not overly sweet.

On the menu for today I chose the Blue plate Special ($23) OG, bacon wrapped meatloaf, swirl potatoes, veggie du jour, stewed, collards, steakhouse, vinaigrette, cilantro Crema. The dish was Tender medallions of meatloaf, wrapped in savory bacon. Topped with a steakhouse vinaigrette, tangy, and savory, which had an amazing flavor by itself, I just wish it added more to the main. Which was slightly bland. Unfortunately, this cilantro Crema had no hints of cilantro. The actual star of the show is the collard greens. The Collard greens has a subtle kick, which is amazing and flavorful, and gives that little extra punch. Hand slammed fries ($5) Parmesan - rosemary dusted, roasted tomato malt vinaigrette. Tasty especially with their house made ketchup, but unfortunately, the fries were a little on the soggy side. And a Blake's cider (5). crisp and refreshing. Perfect for a southern Carolina afternoon. Overall, food was delicious, but could use just a hint of attentions to flavor. I would definitely recommend you give Kounter a try. The staff was friendly, attentive, and checked in at the right times, so no complaints there. The food was a bit underwhelming. It wasn't bad by any means, just lacked the flavor and execution I was expecting based on the menu and hype. Portions were fine, but the dishes didn't quite stand out or justify a higher rating. Overall, it's better than average thanks to the service and setting, but the food is what holds it back from being a full 5-star experience. I know people and places have their off days and am very understanding. With that said, I'm actually appalled with the way my parents were treated at Napa today on their anniversary. Back story- I ate at Napa 6 years ago for my prom dinner in a large group and everything was great, so i recommended they go there. Unfortunately for them, there's been major changes and apparently for the worse. They came in and were offered a toast for their anniversary. They were the only table in there and service already seemed pretty slow. After receiving the complimentary wine and bread, they asked about the mussels. The server came back a while later (again no one else to be served in there) and told them the mussels needed to be shucked and couldn't be served... I feel like I don't even have to explain why that seems like a blatant lie, when specifically Napa's mussels are served in the shell (steamed) and not shucked. I could be wrong about that, I don't work in Napa's kitchen, but the real problem was after that. The server then never came back after 20-30 minutes. My parents sat there debating "should we leave, should we stay?"... Ultimately deciding to leave, they ran into the server on the way out. To keep the peace, they told him that something came up and they had to go. This server, knowing it was their anniversary, and knowing he just blatantly ignored them, responded with "yeah we already heard y'all talking about it" ?????? I'm sorry, what? You knew they were wondering where you were at, overheard them talking about it, and never went back over to do your job? Absolutely unacceptable and I am so truly embarrassed to have recommended Napa to them. This was their 2nd anniversary and they wanted to try something new. They originally had reservations at The Pump House, and those were canceled because of the weather. I told them they could try Napa, it's owned by the same people, and I had a great experience. Like I said, I know people and places have off days, but there is no fixing this experience for them. They never want to go back after being treated like they weren't wanted. Feels like a problem from the top down. I hope no one else's anniversaries are ruined because of managers who aren't paying attention to the floor they're supposed to be running. Edited - They are not still owned by the same people, but that is what I had thought originally when recommending.
