We regularly go to their competition, Park Place Cafe, just within sight of Park 51. We were not disappointed, but sure were surprised at how good it is. Menu is competitive with Park Place and edges them out with their Mexican twist. They are Latinos for sure, and there are items with that twist. Smaller than Park Road, so you might have to wait for a seat. Very busy and the wait staff is really moving to keep the food coming out and seating more and more customers. Ample parking in the shopping center lot and you can exit on to Hwy 51 rather than fighting a left turn on to Park Road from Park Place. Did I use the word "park" enough? read more

A friend found this place as we were looking for a restaurant to get food on Sunday that did not have a long wait time. We were able to be seated immediately. I noticed there were not a lot of photos online of the food so I wasn't sure what to order. As the tables around me food came out I knew that we chose a good spot. Being a transplant to the Carolina's my friend recommended I try the liver mush it's a Southern/ North Carolina specialty. I will say although the look of it isn't very appealing it actually taste pretty good. I just ordered a plain waffle with eggs and bacon with a side of liver mush. My friend ordered grits, potatoes and turkey sausage. The inside of the restaurant itself is small. The service was quick. The food came out rather quickly as well. read more

Stopped by Park 51 Café and had a really good experience! Service: Friendly staff that made the visit comfortable. They were very attentive , which was nice for a casual diner setting. Food: The menu is what you'd expect from a diner, but everything we tried was tasty. The highlight, though, was definitely the fried cheesecake - it was wonderful! For the price, it exceeded expectations. Value: Really good for what you pay. It's not a fancy place, but the quality of the food, especially the desserts, is more than worth it. Overall, Park 51 Café is a solid choice for a casual meal. It's nothing extravagant, but it's a cozy spot with some surprisingly good finds. Will be back for that fried cheesecake! read more

This place is quaint and cute. It reminds me of NYC a little corner intimate diner, it truly takes you back. It's small but fits groups. The prices are good. Unfortunately I found the food a bit blend. Orange juice is store bought, charged price as if it's fresh....over $3 dollars ? It just doesn't make sense to me. I had the ham and cheese omelette and there wasn't enough cheese, it arrived warm not hot .... Same for my daughters scrambled and bacon. I can't speak for my husband's food only that he remarked he would only come back if he really couldn't get to our favorite near by diners for breakfast... there was no salt on anything which could explain why so many elderlies go there.... Not a judgment only notating as my mom likes places that have healthier foods. The menu is very full and has many options. Maybe they have other menu items that are their specialty and taste better than what we ordered. Pancake also not remarkable. This lovely café that offers home cooked meals called "Park 51 Cafe" is to die for, it is a dive restaurant right next to black lion off Park Road. We have been coming here weekly now to get our fix of the most delicious Reuben sandwich you will ever find! My kids get their fries with the homemade ranch to dip it in and I end up eating all of it! Park 51 café is now being run by brand new owners therefore it is completely different than the old restaurant that used to be here. Little local cafe hidden in the Park 51 shopping center just a few doors down from the Black Lion in Pineville. . The menu is home cooking and the food is good. Recently remodeled the restaurant had new management that has proven to be a great improvement to the ole place. Newly painted and curtains off the windows has brightened up the place. The cook is the owner and he has what it takes . From breakfast menu to the dinner menu the food is delicious. I usually order from the breakfast menu but tonight I tried the meatloaf . It was delicious! The hubs had the liver and onions tonight and it was fabulous ! We Followed it up with homemade banana pudding. It was delicious! Stop by and you'll see what I mean. This used to be a really good restaurant. They may have recently sold, hired new managers or a new head cook because the service is not like it used to be and the food (omelet and fried potatoes) was greasy, lacked flavor and was burnt. I think they use a half slice of chz to save on food cost. Charge a little more and put out a better product. read more

Vegetable plate is my go to thing here. Love the fried squash, beets and some of the daily vegetable specials like cabbage and Lima beans. Updated to add that we love their Shrimp Scampi and Penne Alls Vodka with shrimp. Delish! read more

Great little restaurant tucked in a strip mall, a couple of doors down from BlackLion. We came in right near 6 pm and were sat immediately. Lots of regular customers that the owner and waitress knew by name. Friendly wait staff, casual environment. Food was made quickly and came out piping hot. Waitress and the owner checked on us often. Very good service! I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with a side salad. Salad tasted fresh and food was very good. These folks know the way to my heart because they serve breakfast allll day! It was like I had teleported to Brooklyn when we ate at this restaurant. The whole package: friendly, clean, delicious and (kinda) quick. We only waited 5 mins for a table but it was busy. Atmosphere is cozy and clean. Wait staff very friendly but they were slammed! Major props to them, they were running all over. We ordered normal breakfast food, eggs, omelet, home fries, bacon. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Very baby friendly as I had my 10 month old who was happy because she could be as loud as she wanted (lots of chatter, family restaurant) Can't wait to go back!! read more

My sister took me out for some comfort home cookin. The restuarant was small but not a big deal to me. The menu had so many choices of the kind of comfort food I enjoy. Like Virgina Ham, Country Fried Steak, Pork Chops. I decided to try some Chicken Wings as a starter and the Bake Ziti for my entre. My sister, mom and brother-n- law started with a bowl of Vegetable soup. They loved it! My sister had the Chicken Parm and brother-n- law had the Ham Steak. Everything came out hot and tasty. Unfortunately during the 50 minute drive home my stomach begin to curdle. By the time I got home I needed to use the ladies room! Having several trips throughout the night. By the third day my stomach started to recover. What a shame great selection of my favorites on the menu but not worth the pain in my stomach or the 50 minute drive. Will not be returning. read more

While going thru PT this place has become like Moms kitchen. The food is excellent.. the wait staff make you feel like coming home. Delicious comfort food. Breakfast served all day is my favorite!! Lets face it breakfast to people working graveyard is 11PM at night sometimes.. while they are not open that late still an awesome and very nummy option. I am not really into breakfast restaurants, b/c I make that type of food at home daily, but I did appreciate Park 51 for being a relaxed diner environment with really reasonable prices. We've dined here many times but not in several years. We usually go for breakfast and it's always been good, tasty, etc. Good service. Reliable. Today my wife wanted some chicken and dumplings for lunch so I popped in and placed an order for two, to go. Each entree came with 2 sides which is pretty typical. We got mac and cheese, rice and gravy, fried okra and squash. Everything tasted wonderful! The chicken and dumplings were very tasty but at $6.95 I wasn't sure how they could have much chicken. They didn't. I'd say each dish had less than an ounce of chicken in total. There was no such thing as a chunk or a bite of chicken as it was more of a wisp of chicken here or there. A mix of white, dark and some skin. That said, the dish was tasty and filling. The okra and squash were excellent. The mac and cheese is more akin to the box variety than homemade traditional but it was also fine. The rice and gravy both seemed like they were from a box or envelope. Like minute rice and packaged brown gravy. Tasty but not homemade. On the whole, lunch was a bargain for $6.95 each. Some places would charge that for a couple of vegetables. I would rather pay $2-3 more and have more chicken. For example, Nick's Cafe near SouthPark charges $10.95 for basically the same dish (they add bread). But Nick's typically has about 3 ounces of freshly roasted chicken included. I gave 4 Stars based on our experience at breakfast and for the taste of the food at lunch. But I'd recommend the owner consider adding more chicken, even if it means raising the price a bit. Or, perhaps add an option for extra chicken (say 2 ounces for $2.50) so people can choose. read more

They serve breakfast all day which is very convenient. I honestly prefer their breakfast food over their lunch or dinner food. Good food, friendly staff reasonable prices. The fried flounder platter is one of my favorites. My son loves mozzarella sticks and he insists that Park 51Cafe has some of the best he has tasted. My family and I love coming here for a quick bite when out during breakfast or lunch. read more
