Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but my daughter and I were practically dying of hunger so we popped in. The definition of a hole-in-the-wall. The best part is they are also bilingual in Spanish making me feel at home. Since the restaurant is in a shopping center, there is a vast amount of parking. They have delicious large breakfast plates. You order when you walk in and take a seat and wait for your meal to be brought to your table. Seating on the outside patio is also available.

Absolutely awesome food and service! The staff is so friendly and that is unheard of these days. The quality and portions of the food and the value makes this a 5 star rating

Had to pop into the UPS store around lunch time so I yelped something good to eat and landed upon the Village Grill. Had no idea what to expect and I couldn't really see inside from the parking lot. First impression was that this place was full. It was full of old people but still, full on a Wednesday lunch. Placard at the front read the daily specials: pork chop or mushroom swiss burger and fries. You order at the front and take a number much like Showmars. I asked the girl behind the counter what was good and popular. She referred me back to the specials. The menu on the wall was extensive but tiny and I didn't have my glasses on so I went with the burger special. I was alone so I sat at the bar. Thankfully the television in front of me was on ESPN unlike the one farther down that was on the news. About 15 minutes later, my food arrived. This was massive for a lunch. Burger must have had a full jar of mushrooms on it along with the standard veg. additions. Fries were crinkle cut and had a nice dusting of seasoned salt. Everything came out nice and hot. Oh and there's also free wi-fi. I would definitely go back. Note that they serve breakfast all day but that it closes at 2:30.

Fresh, real food. Good pricing. Mom and pop style. Nice people. We'll be back. Indoor and outdoor seating, a little small bit worth it

I ordered the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were stale and hard. The water had a very heavy mold taste!

This was the best little hidden gem. The Village omelet was great. I will definitely be back to try other items.

We had the Classic - eggs over easy, bacon, whole wheat toast. Very good, although the eggs could have been a bit warmer. We also had the Homestead Platter - bacon, link sausage, scrambled eggs, with a biscuit and sausage gravy - a steal at $13.99! Lots of bacon and sausage and perfectly scrambled eggs - a winner in my book! The coffee was good, hot, and plentiful. Service was polite, friendly, and professional. The menu also had omelets, benedicts, and items from the griddle. Warmer eggs brings the food to 5-star. I gave the atmosphere a 4-star rating because I found the place a bit spartan. That said, I'll trade good food at fair prices for atmosphere any day of the week. If you're looking for a good, standard breakfast, this could be your kind of place. I will be back - likely quite often!

I use Benedict's as my gold standard for breakfast service. I like my poached eggs runny but these were almost completely cooked, the English muffin I requested toasted 'hard' meaning I want it well toasted but it came out hardly toasted. The hollandaise sauce was a little weak and thin and sparse. The potatoes were over salted for my taste even though our server tried to fix them by bringing me a new side order, the potatoes were still too salty. So the Benedict didn't meet expectations but my husband enjoyed his sandwich. My dogs enjoyed the remains of the eggs Benedict - too expensive to throw out! But not the potatoes. I might be persuaded to try this place again in the future, but it would be because nothing else was available.

It is in downtown Monroe with street parking and some public parking lots. Our daughter said she has been there around 11:00am and got a spot on the street right in front. It is very eclectic with decor and items for sale. They have indoor seating, seating along entrance hall and outdoor seating. You order at one counter, which has a large menu boards above the counter. The young lady that took our order was very nice. You pay over at the bar area. It was not busy at the time we were there. I had the Salad Sandwich. You can get it with chicken salad, tuna salad or chickLESS salad. I had the chicken salad in a spinach wrap with lettuce and tomato. There are other bread options. The wrap was filled with the chicken salad. It was nicely seasoned and tasted really good. My husband and daughter both did the Pick Your Burger, a build your own. My husband had the burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions and pepper jack cheese. My daughter added bacon, lettuce, grilled onions and provolone cheese. They both said it was a great burger. We enjoyed our food. Definitely will come back.

Biscuits and gravy are a southern staple and rarely have I had any that were really good, except here at Vicious Biscuit. Biscuits are their business. The most important elements are the biscuits and the gravy. Additions are many and varied, but if the basic two items are not both excellent, you will have a disappointing experience. The Vicious biscuit is the size of a hamburger bun. It is soft and there are bits of spice in the dough. These biscuits do not fall apart, but stay together and serve to soak up the wonderful sausage gravy that is poured on top of it. You can order just a biscuit with gravy for $8. And if you are timid, start here. Otherwise, there are add-ons like very good fried chicken, shrimp and grits, ham, pulled smoked pork, crab, bacon, fried shrimp. fried eggs and other combos. Super choices, so take time to study the menu which is extensive. Portions are great, very generous. I had their Vicious ($12). It was their Cheddar jalapeño biscuit, crispy fried chicken, maple sausage gravy, cowboy candy, with maple syrup drizzle. I was hesitant as to the maple syrup, but it is just enough to give accent to the gravy, but not super sweet. Wife had Fried Green 'Maters ($9.50) which were four fried green tomatoes, their signature pimento cheese with a pickled okra garnish. She could not eat it all, so I helped finish off the lone tomato and a bit of the cheese. Very good. Vicious Biscuit is more that a meal, it is an experience, even a journey, through this traditional southern staple, biscuits and gravy. Enjoy the trip. We might see you there.
