We had an absolutely delightful and delicious lunch here today. It is quaint, charming, and nostalgic of simpler times. There is ample parking. I appreciate that everyday the specials are written on a board along with a daily Scripture verse. I love that you share good food and The Word. Service was attentive and the fried chicken which happened to be one of the specials of the day was among the best fried chicken we ever tasted! It came with two sides. I had the collards and the corn bread . Both yummy, but the corn bread in particular was a stand out. I also love how mission minded this business is to bless the community. They offer free bibles to take by the door and they also have a small prayer request box at the front to put your prayer requests in , and they will pray over them weekly. I have a ministry to those struggling with addiction and living on the streets. I took a recovery Bible and will give it to someone I minister too . We have never eaten here before but found out that they serve clam strips at dinner time only. We ended up ordering through ChowNow delivery and got 2 seafood platters and we were completely happy with the whole meal! It included fried flounder, fried shrimp, fried clam strips, deviled crab, fries, slaw and hush puppies. Definitely didn't skimp on the serving size of everything and so worth the price! The chicken was absolutely amazing! I loved the home-feel of the restaurant. Side salad was boring but that was my bad for not asking what came on it. Everything else was really great. At the bridge, very convenient very close to my house absolutely loved the place. Love the food love the ambience. The service was fabulous. I also love the fact that it has the outside for play for the kids and an ice cream parlor next to it. The service are very, very nice. I absolutely loveshopping in there for the local honey. Five stars for a drive through cone of chocolate ice cream today. Mrs. K. said she wanted ice cream and so Mrs. K. gets ice cream. This was super easy though a few twists were required to get lined up for the drive through window. They have at least a double dozen flavors and different types of cones, but we got a simple chocolate in a waffle cone. I did have one small spoonful and it was excellent - creamy and thick with chocolate. Mrs. K. enjoyed her scoop and pronounced it five stars. I thought it would be a busy Saturday evening, but the service was terrible. The ribeye steak was so tough I couldn't even eat it, and they gave me a knife that wasn't even meant for steak, so I couldn't cut it properly. The equipment and service were a huge disrespect to the good people of this neighborhood. The locals here deserve better. Not once did a staff member come to check on us until the meal was over. Very cute establishment and our waiter was awesome but food was lacking for me and my friends. I got the smokehouse burger, it was extremely dry with just a few sprinkles of cheese and didn't seem to have much seasoning other than the lil bit of bbq sauce. My friend got the chicken Cajun pasta and she decided to take it to go so she could doctor it up more at home. But the place was packed so clearly there is something good on the menu, I would go again and try something different. However the cake dessert i got was very tasty. They have a lil ice cream shop next door that was awesome. Can sit outdoors and enjoy your treat. read more

So in the world of proper Denver Omelettes, this place is proper and spot on. The secret is they sauté the vegetables before putting them in the omelette. This small step is a game changer and most places miss this step. Overall this is a great place for breakfast. The ambiance is country kitchen and it fits well like a comfortable pair of shoes. Service is perfect and the coffee is crisp and nutty with not of the over roasted starburnt flavor that is so popular these days. Good people and good down home food. My husband & I were very happy with our lunch. He ordered the Barbque sandwich , fried okra, and baby Lima beans. I ordered the chicken salad on croissant plus fruit salad. All tasted freshly made. You can't miss this happy little place conspicuously monopolizing an entire corner of the very busy intersection at Idlewild and Indian Trail-Fairview roads. Also, conspicuous is the seemingly always packed gravel parking lot out back. Being fairly new to that area, I have enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner amidst the locals who have packed the homey cabin-like dining room my every visit. It is a total and refresh departure from the Ballantyne environment that I am used to. I really want to love it and there's a lot to love starting with the down home, friendly service from the time you enter until to pay your bill at the checkout counter (where by the way, they take prayer requests). The dining room, consisting of a beautiful wood paneled main room and an enclosed side porch, is a delightful throughback to yesteryear. The menu is diverse, and prices are very reasonable. There is also an ice cream shop attached. Since my last lunch review here, I have had breakfast and dinner. The Big Bridge Breakfast is indeed big, and at $7.95, is also a great value. It consists of three eggs, choice of pork chops, bacon, sausage or liver mush, choice of  grits or hash browns, and two large pancakes. Overall, everything was okay, but I found the eggs to be a bit dry, and the grits and pancakes both seemed instant. My wife love her Spinach & Feta Omelet however. It was loaded with good stuff and also ran $7.95. Service, as usual, was superb. For dinner, we started off with the made-in-house Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls ($8), which were interesting but a little too greasy for us.  My wife and daughters all got salads topped with chicken for around $11 each, while I opted for the 8oz sirloin, huge baked potato and a side salad for $13. The salads were fresh and plentiful. My steak however, while cooked perfectly, was just way too salty (which was a problem that I also experienced at lunch). Of course, I know that, going forward, to simply ask for no added salt. Again, for lunch, see my prior review. There's a whole lot to like about this place. I expect to return. Eventually I will figure out it's nuances. In the meantime, since Yelp does not allow me to assign 3.5 stars, I feel that, considering the whole package, I must round up to 4. we live about 25 minutes away and happened to drive by on our way to an afternoon event so decided to stop for dinner on the way home. Our meal was hit and miss. Positives: - fried flounder and the chopped sirloin steak was good. - the building and ambiance was cool. - our server was very good Negatives: - the bbq pork was probably the worst I have ever had. It was soupy and mushy. Very weird. - pasta salad was pasta in a soup of Italian dressing. Worst I've ever had. - it was warm in there, had to have been 75+degrees. So after our first visit, we want to like it but is it a Russian roulette of what you order on the menu? Hopefully you pick wisely. read more

Ordered Ham and Cheese Omelet very bad choice eggs were fake probably the kind you pour instead of 3 fresh eggs ,ham clearly chopped lunch meat and cheese store bought shredded .Omelet and hash browns not cooked but cold centers .Made mistake of asking to be warmed up when returned was and tasted like a rubber tire. Great restaurant with fresh homemade food. Large menu with daily specials for lunch and dinner. Excellent and affordable prices. They have a large side menu and excellent desserts. There is an ice cream parlor as well that has amazing ice cream and milk shakes. The staff is friendly and attentive. They do take out orders and everyone is very attentive to your order. Very extensive parking, gravel lot. Play area for kids outside and they often have nightly entertainment on the weekends during the summer. Besides the shrimp plate I ordered with a, baked potato, coleslaw, and hush puppies the customer service was outstanding. My most recent order was actually utilizing drive-through at the ice cream parlor which is attached to the restaurant. I had a strawberry milkshake and my parents had a strawberry5t milkshake and we all three believe is actually homemade ice cream. It is so delicious, so fattening and blended perfectly with one big scoop of ice cream on The teens who were at the ice cream shop or so professional, polite and friendly. Our favorite "meat and veggie" style of restaurant is this one. While they have limited hours, their specials are always fresh and well prepared. While there have been exceptions, like all restaurants have, 9 out of 10 meals deliver as promised. Service is very friendly and attentive, and they're always happy to see the regulars. read more

Arrived too late for breakfast so I had to order lunch. Did taste the coffee and it was horrible. The fried chicken was more salty than it was seasoned. The fries were a little dry. The toss salad was old lettuce but the ranch dressing was great. The Pepsi was more sugar and less carbonated. I feel like the patrons were mostly senior citizens and blue collar men on their lunch break. Cute and cozy atmosphere but the food was less than satisfactory. Not even sure what the bowl of beans and deep fried pita chips was about. They should just not serve it at all. read more

The foods not bad, that's why they're getting two stars. The experience was horrible. It seems as though the owner is trying to cool this place with portable units instead of installing central AC. It must've been 80° inside and when it's that hot, even if you're eating the best meal of your life it's hard to enjoy. On top of that, the food took forever to arrive and we were constantly swatting flies. No booze and no Wi-Fi top off an overall terrible experience. We will not be back. read more
