We went to this little diner-like restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. We went on Memorial Day and there was about a fifteen minute wait for our party of two. First impression was good. The restaurant itself looked clean and family-oriented. It had a diner-like feel. We ordered breakfast. (Breakfast is served all day.) Our server was very pleasant, attentive and friendly. I ordered one chocolate chip pancake with strawberries and whipped cream, and a turkey sausage patty. My husband had an omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. Overall, we thought everything was very good. My husband said he prefers his hash browns more browned and crunchy; and that his biscuit could have been a little better, but he was still pleased with his meal. I have no complaints about my pancake and turkey sausage. The thing I liked most about this place was that there were many choices on the menu, and the prices were reasonable. Finally, a place you can enjoy that has good food, a nice atmosphere and won't cost you an arm and a leg. This is closest to a real diner that I've eaten at in a long time. Stacks is a great local diner, the staff is very friendly. There are a lot of routine customers that they greet by name as they walk in. The sausage is fantastic and the orange juice is fresh and a very good price for fresh squeezed. The reason i am not giving 5 stars is the pancakes, to me they are a little too thick, personally i prefer the original pancake house ones more but i know many customers love them. Another fantastic and delicious experience! The only mistake was that we came on a Sunday around 11am. Surprisingly, the wait for a table was only about 25-30 min. This time I got the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and a side of sausage. The biscuit was the star as it was so fluffy and floury. Anything you get here is diner approved so try it all! Went here with friends for lunch. Stacks has a great menu for breakfast and lunch. The staff is attentive, the service is good, and the menu has something for everyone in a comfortable atmosphere. We ordered from the comfort food section; meatloaf, stuffed cabbage, and grilled liver. We liked most all our food and the coffee was good. The beef liver had some gristle and not as tender as expected , wished there were more onions with the recipe, but it was still tasty. I have many friends who talk about this place. I have eaten there 3-4. My biggest issue is with the hateful Spanish speaking small hostess. She is basically a snarky bitch. One one occasion I had 3 request all of which she totally ignored. I tried to deal with it not understanding why she would do that. I hate to cause a stink when I'm with folks. This lady seems determined to ignore request. I came in and bought some gift certificates for some folks. She never greeted me or thanked me for the money that goes to pay her salary. As a poor kid growing up and later as a straight commission salesman I was always grateful to folks spending their money on my products. She was not raised by parents who taught her to be grateful. The hashbrowns was like hay a cow or any animal would love it and one time they serve two pieces of bread now it's only one piece of bread. I ordered Lynn sausage that was delicious. My wife ordered Scrambled eggs with cheese. Absolutely suck rubbery hard a terrible cook. She's more or less looking for a waffle house type scrambled eggs with cheese. I highly do not recommend sex at one time. They were a great restaurant they have gone down the tubes. Absolutely terrible they need to get their act back together. read more

After leaving my moms dr appt she wanted waffles despite it being 11:30. I used Yelp to see what was close. Stacks Kitchen was only 4 minutes away, perfect. Reviews were great so win win. And WIN is exactly what we did. This family owned restaurant is serious about giving customers a great experience. The service is so good. No way you will walk in here and be ignored. Now the parking in this shopping plaza is not adequate at all but the inside of the restaurant has plenty of seating and can accommodate large groups. They are open 6-3pm for breakfast and brunch. My mom had waffle, hash browns and bacon with coffee. I had fish and chips which was cod fish with onion rings, French fries, a biscuit and Cole slaw all for under $12. I like my onion rings fried hard enough that the breading doesn't easily separate but that's personal preference. The biscuit also was not warm. There's a whole case of made from scratch desserts. I got the peanut butter brownie which our wonderful server warmed for me and got my mom a slice of coconut cream pie to go. Brownie was AMAZING! Soooo I think we've found our new treat after dr visits. We may just need to try out the one in Waxhaw that the owners brother-in-law owns :) read more

I forgot about this place until I heard Beth Troutman on 1110wbt mentioned it a few weeks ago. I'm not quite sure how it fell of my radar, but damn! I'm glad I returned. Other than the kid cashier being abrupt and a bit of a turd with her attitude, the food was insanely good! I'll be back for sure.
