Bf had a spinach and feta omelette with home fries and a biscuit. He's a chef and very picky about eating breakfast out but was very satisfied with this one but he did add mushrooms to the omelette. The corned beef hash was cooked wonderfully. Bacon was ok, not candied bacon but it wasn't the overcooked wrinkly kind either so somewhere in the middle bacon lol. Service was average. The last time I was here was probably in 1982 or 83. I lived off Shamrock and I was a regular here, especially for breakfast. Back then, it was THE hotspot for breakfast and late night food. I was in the area and decided to drop in for breakfast. It's changed a lot. It's still good but not quite the level it was in the 80's that I remember. I wanted the salmon omelette but my waitress said they were out of it so I was disappointed but settled for the liver mush with over easy eggs, grits and toast with coffee. The liver mush gave me indigestion. Everything else was good and the coffee was especially good. My waitress was real nice, she was all: honey and darlin this and that but she was slow. Server was very nice. She took our drink order almost as soon as we sat down. The restraunt is very casual. There is a picture of Guy from triple D on the wall. They serve breakfast all day long. This was a breakfast night. The food came quickly. The French toast was thick. It was at least an inch thick. The eggs were loaded with ham and vegetables. This is a diner located off of Central Avenue. It's a staple for Charlotte as it is one of the oldest restaurants here. The prices are reasonable in the staff are friendly. The decor gives you a nice diner feel they haven't really updated the decor since they probably opened. There's plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. Don't Do It! Food and service was so terrible that it was almost comical. Scrambled eggs were two eggs over easy chopped up after cooking and placed on three slices of cheese fresh from the freeze. Fish and shrimp plate had to be returned after one bite. Old grease and horrible smell. read more

We rarely get to this side of Charlotte, but when we do, a trip to the Landmark is a must! We arrived at 3:45 and ordered off of the lunch menu. I chose the turkey with mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband ordered the cheeseburger and we shared a bowl of French onion soup. Everything arrived quickly and was delicious. The breakfast was horrible. Yes I should have said something when my food came out. The food was cold. The home fries were big chunks of potatoes .They had no taste. No onions or peppers added. They were burnt. My smoke sausage was cooked the way i asked. It was cold. The only thing good was the girts. My toast was hard and cold. My eggs were ok. This breakfast was just a no go for me. Fantastic food, great prices, huge portions, and best of all our server Miss Love. Not only did she go above and beyond and made the dinner so special, but we left feeling so loved and welcomed by her. She definitely touched our hearts last night with her kindness for our family dinner. We will be back. Highly suggest seeing her when she works on Thursday, Fridays, or Saturdays. GOOD PLAIN SIMPLE BUT DID I SAY GOOD FOOD! It's a diner folks and it lives up to its name superbly! HUGE portions and very tasty! Our waitress was delightful- answered our many questions, took good care with our special requests (like gravy on the side) checked on us often and gave all sorts of suggestions for zert!! The dessert choices are nearly endless and get this ALL made in house! Woohoo! They say (I opted out of dessert on todays visit) that the chocolate cake is to die for but there was pineapple coconut cake, cheesecake, baklava, apple or cherry pie and so on and so on! We have been coming to Landmark monthly for 5 years-mostly for breakfast and lunch and they continue to deliver great service and great food. Exactly what you expect -breakfast favorites and great sandwiches along with hot lunch daily specials. Fabulous baked goods -perfect to take home later and indulge. They have large booths to accommodate family or friends. Best of all its a 97.5 health code rating and that is rare around Charlotte. I've been going to this restaurant over 30 years. In the past, I would've given it an easy 5, but lately, they have definitely fallen off. Recently, I got the Chicken and Broccoli with a side of Brussel Sprouts. It was bland, the entire meal, until I had to recook it myself and add seasoning and spices. Yesterday I got a take out meal which included a side order of macaroni and cheese. I fed the entire side to my dogs. It looked like they were at the end of the pan and just scraped around the sides and put it in a container. Talking about disappointed. I really couldn't believe it. There was no fixing it. I just gave the entire dish to my dogs. From now on, if I'm not eating there in the restaurant, I'll pass. read more

We showed up tired and hungry after the parade Uptown and nobody knew what they wanted. The Landmark has something for everyone. We were seated right away but it took awhile for our very busy waitress to get to us - she apologized at least 5 times. No worries, we were happy to sit and chill for a bit. I've been to Landmark once years ago and decided to visit again after visiting a nearby thrift store. We went around 1pm for lunch and had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table. This place is popular! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful, we enjoyed her so much. She brought out our food super quick too! The cornbread was so good! It is yellow and sweet and served with butter. It could be your dessert. I think it might have been my favorite part of the meal! The baked turkey and dressing was really good too, but it was made with that same sweet cornbread, so if you are expecting a typical Southern cornbread dressing, you may be disappointed. Gravy was very flavorful and the turkey was plentiful and baked perfectly. The fish and chips were good, but the fish was lacking a little seasoning. It was basic and a huge portion. My daughter reported the fries as being really good. The green beans and the fried squash were ok, but just ok. Nothing special. The green beans could have used some seasoning and the squash was cut too thick, but it was tasty. We'd heard that the desserts were the draw at Landmark, so we had to order them, even if we only took a bite and took the rest home. Turns out we really could have skipped them. They were both very bland and basic. I had baklava and my daughter had the eclair. We'd both had much better versions elsewhere. So why 4 stars? First time going to Landmark in years. Came in from South Carolina to meet up with family that wanted to go there. The first waitress finally came to the table to take drink order, in process of getting drink order she was walking off with out finishing the order. She brought a few drinks to the table and proceeded to ask me what my drink order was. I specifically stated for the second time, sweet tea no lemon. She went to get my tea, grab a lemon with her bare fingers and brought it to me. I had to give her my order a third time. I then asked her " do you guys always grab the lemon with your bare hands" she said, " yes some of us do". I was like yeah no thats a red flag and a no for me. Done with Landmark. Tired of repaying for things over and over that they forget in our take out orders. Prime example today - honey mustard dressing. Last time - sour cream packets. I understand there is an extra charge for things and we pay extra for the things we want included with our meals. That is fine. Just give what is supposedly included with an item and if an extra is ordered, put it in the freaking bag. Apparently incompetent kitchen and cashier take out workers. It's really gotten ridiculous. Not to mention, the quality of everything there has gone downhill. Stopped eating dessert there a long time ago. It still looks as old and tired as it did years ago. Just look closely. Nasty. When 3 friends decided to gather at The Landmark I was excited. I hadn't been there in 25 years. It was a weekly after-clubbing stop back then. The friend who chose the location said it was still great. We arrived at 9 am. It was about 1/2 full. The place hadn't changed a bit and, as before, we were welcomed by that fabulous bakery case. Prices were very reasonable. I ordered corned beef hash, with poached eggs, home fries, and a biscuit. Others ordered french toast, and pancakes, both with bacon. We talked about making this a more frequent get-together place The order came in about 15 minutes and was served from behind me. The French Toast looked so yummy with about 6 strips of bacon, the pancakes, the same. I couldn't wait to dig into my breakfast. I was then served 1 plate with home fries, a biscuit, and a bowl that could have been soft-boiled and not poached. That was fine, I wanted the yolk oozing down over the corned beef hash. I waited for my corned beef hash, it wasn't served and the waiter was gone. I assumed he was coming back. I waited a couple of minutes and then began to eat my cold home fries. I looked for the waiter and my hash, but he couldn't be found. I checked my eggs and they were hard-boiled. My friends were halfway through their meal when I was able to flag the waiter down. He looked puzzled at my concerns, but said he would take care of it. Now it's 20 minutes since my friends were served and they were done eating. The waiter was nowhere. A person in our party wanted more coffee and went up the counter. About 5 minutes later my order arrived. The hash browns looked wonderful with crispy edges, the eggs were poached, and the home fries were piping hot. My friends were done eating and we were wrapping up our visit, so I asked for a to-go box. Yes, at this point, I was agitated and not interested in eating any longer. The waiter brought my box. Ten minutes later he brought the check and my friends also needed to-go boxes. That took 5 more minutes. We waited over 7 minutes to check out. There was no line, but a take-out order was being placed. My order was comped, and I was charged $3.25 for my orange juice. I am usually a very good tipper and can not recall ever not tipping anyone at least 10%. I left no tip. They charge a 4% credit card surcharge and don't let you know anywhere. Honestly, their prices are so great they should raise their prices 10% and forget the surcharge. A much better business practice. I gave 2 stars because the food, when I finally got mine, and my friends food, looked wonderful. While waiting to check out we all decided that perhaps this isn't the place we want to give another chance too. I drove 25 minutes to get here. read more

We were really looking forward to going to Landmark as previous experiences were favorable. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone down the pipe. Not sure where they have gone wrong but it was very much telling with an almost empty restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. We received an appetizer with spoiled ham as depicted on the picture. The manager did not even attempt to approach and assure to make it right. The spring chicken was extremely dry, the salmon tasted extremely fishy and the fries were coated in what appeared to taste like overly used oil. I'm feeling nauseous as I'm leaving this review. I usually don't ever leave a bad review but I hope that the restaurant takes things seriously and improve on the quality of their food. read more
