(4/4/26) It's been seven years since we were last here. My wife said that the menu had changed. I didn't give it much of a glance. Only two potential items stood out to me, the huevos ranchero & the crab cakes Benedict. I chose the crab cakes. My wife ordered avocado toast. When the crab cakes arrived and I tasted them, I knew why I hadn't come back. They had absolutely no seasoning. I left them on the plate. My wife's avocado toast suffered from the same lack of seasoning. What a disappointment. The service was pretty quick. There really wasn't much ambience to speak of. read more

Nice. Solid. Easy. I love how you can order breakfast all day long. Since I had lunch for breakfast, it only made sense that I compensate with breakfast for lunch. My colleague and I were seated without any wait, even though the place is very popular. Lots of windows contribute to the full diner experience. I went with the breakfast sandwich and was readily accommodated when I asked to swap the default scrambled eggs with over easy. The waitress gave us lots of napkins in anticipation of a gloriously messy lunch. I ran through those quickly and she gladly supplied us with more. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and will certainly be back soon. So many delicious options to choose from. read more

My food was okay overall, but the highlight for me was definitely the mimosas -- they were strong, so I'll give them credit for that! One downside was the wait time for alcoholic drinks. It took a while to get them, and because of the delay, I didn't even get a chance to order another mimosa before we were done. From what I observed, the restaurant seemed clean inside. Had breakfast at Metro and its goodness. Service was excellent. Seated promptly, order taken and very courteous. I decided to try the Fried Chicken Benedict with crispy hashbrowns. Breakfast arrived quickly and it was very good. The chicken was hot and delicious and the hashbrowns were crispy. Only complaint was the egg was a bit overcooked. Not enough to ruin the meal but still overcooked. I will be back at Metro again for sure. read more

In the area for a few days and had breakfast and lunch at the Metro Diner. Staff is very friendly and cheerful. For Breakfast I had the Biscuits and Sausage Gravy which is a meal in itself. It also came with eggs and hash browns. All were excellent. For Dinner I had the Loaded Burger Bowl which was also excellent. Hope to return when I am in the area again. read more

When the waiter recommended the steak scramble bowl at breakfast, I was like ummm sure if that's your favorite thing I kind of have to try it and I am SO glad I did! The steak bites were some of the best I've ever had. I don't know what they're doing over there but the meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor! I picked up a delicious umami flavor, soy sauce maybe? And that paired perfectly with the creamy hollandaise sauce poured over top. I would definitely get that again. Yummy, as usual. My son had a breakfast bowl. My daughter and I had a croissant sandwich. The waffles are good plain, with strawberry butter or my fave, with nuts and cinnamon. I don't remember what they call it but it's pretty good. I tried the southern pecan coffee today. I'll definitely be getting it again. There was a waiter or manager that kept zipping around the floor. I know they get busy but breaking out in a sprint is a little alarming sometimes. Maybe less coffee for that guy next Sunday? Otherwise, great breakfast and time with my kids this morning. I love Metro! read more

Dined here Friday morning of Memorial Day Weekend for breakfast. Restaurant was busy but was given a table quickly. It was six of us so we had a variety of food but I didn't get a picture of everything. I love how the kitchen is open and you can see the food being prepared and picked up by the waiters. I had pancakes, eggs, grits and bacon and enjoyed it all. My boyfriend had the steak bowl and it was delicious. My son enjoyed his waffle. My mom's chicken and waffles were banging. The servers are always attentive and we especially like Will, we have been lucky to have been at his station 3 or 4 times. 10/10 service! Everyone was so kind there! The food 10/10! I had their pumpkin waffle special. The waffle was topped with cinnamon spice butter and a cream cheese icing drizzle. It literally didn't need any of that. The waffle was so tasty by itself. However, it became a decadent sweet treat the teetered between breakfast and dessert. My son has the croissant French toast. He gave it a 10/10, too! I brought home a Philly cheesesteak to my husband, and he said it was delicious! We will DEFINITELY be back! read more

Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Metro diner. The food was delicious and the customer service was even better. I went with my young son, teenaged niece and nephew on a packed Friday evening. It was about a 15 to 20 minutes wait for a table so we decided to stay in matthews vs riding to the Charlotte location which expressed no wait when I called. I got the chicken dinner which was absolutely delicious. More than possibly expected to eat in one meal. My nephew opted for a bacon croissant with home fried potatoes. With my little one getting chicken tenders with fries. The only person to experience an issue with their meal was my niece. Her burger was incorrect and upon realization the server (Jennifer) apologized and tried correcting the problem. Moments later a man appearing to be in management came over to apologize and explained how they do not work that way. He promptly removed the burger from the bill to our amazement. We didn't ask nor expect for that to happen. Aside from the good being delicious the service will take them far. Treat yourself while in the area.
