Had breakfast at Metro and its goodness. Service was excellent. Seated promptly, order taken and very courteous. I decided to try the Fried Chicken Benedict with crispy hashbrowns. Breakfast arrived quickly and it was very good. The chicken was hot and delicious and the hashbrowns were crispy. Only complaint was the egg was a bit overcooked. When the waiter recommended the steak scramble bowl at breakfast, I was like ummm sure if that's your favorite thing I kind of have to try it and I am SO glad I did! The steak bites were some of the best I've ever had. I don't know what they're doing over there but the meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor! I picked up a delicious umami flavor, soy sauce maybe? And that paired perfectly with the creamy hollandaise sauce poured over top. I would definitely get that again. Yummy, as usual. My son had a breakfast bowl. My daughter and I had a croissant sandwich. The waffles are good plain, with strawberry butter or my fave, with nuts and cinnamon. I don't remember what they call it but it's pretty good. I tried the southern pecan coffee today. I'll definitely be getting it again. There was a waiter or manager that kept zipping around the floor. I know they get busy but breaking out in a sprint is a little alarming sometimes. Maybe less coffee for that guy next Sunday? Dined here Friday morning of Memorial Day Weekend for breakfast. Restaurant was busy but was given a table quickly. It was six of us so we had a variety of food but I didn't get a picture of everything. I love how the kitchen is open and you can see the food being prepared and picked up by the waiters. I had pancakes, eggs, grits and bacon and enjoyed it all. My boyfriend had the steak bowl and it was delicious. My son enjoyed his waffle. My mom's chicken and waffles were banging. 10/10 service! Everyone was so kind there! The food 10/10! I had their pumpkin waffle special. The waffle was topped with cinnamon spice butter and a cream cheese icing drizzle. It literally didn't need any of that. The waffle was so tasty by itself. However, it became a decadent sweet treat the teetered between breakfast and dessert. My son has the croissant French toast. Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Metro diner. The food was delicious and the customer service was even better. I went with my young son, teenaged niece and nephew on a packed Friday evening. It was about a 15 to 20 minutes wait for a table so we decided to stay in matthews vs riding to the Charlotte location which expressed no wait when I called. I got the chicken dinner which was absolutely delicious. More than possibly expected to eat in one meal. My nephew opted for a bacon croissant with home fried potatoes. With my little one getting chicken tenders with fries. The only person to experience an issue with their meal was my niece. Her burger was incorrect and upon realization the server (Jennifer) apologized and tried correcting the problem. Moments later a man appearing to be in management came over to apologize and explained how they do not work that way. He promptly removed the burger from the bill to our amazement. We didn't ask nor expect for that to happen. Aside from the good being delicious the service will take them far. Treat yourself while in the area. My wife and I went for a quick breakfast after a doctors appointment. We have been to Metro Dinner before but not this location. So we gave it try. Now we are trying to eat mostly protein and no carbs so finding somewhere that does breakfast was the goal. We got there around 09:30 and there wasn't many people there. We walked in and it took a few minutes for someone to greet us but they finally did. After we were seated we started looking at the menus. The smell of syrup and breakfast was very distracting at times. Unfortunately it took a good 10-15 minutes for anyone to even come to our table. When they finally did we ordered. I got the "Protein Breakfast." My wife got a scramble bowl with several meats. Being that we have been here before we expecting some pretty hearty plates. When the food came out, it was a little disappointing. As you can see in the picture mine was not the biggest it could have been. For the price we paid I would expect more. The food was good, not the best. Unfortunately I would say this wasn't the best experience. The food being just ok and the price and the fact that the waitress (who was very nice) just wasn't able to give us her attention at all. The final price came out to $32 before tip. I would have been happy paying $20-25 at the most. Maybe we will give it another try but I'm not sure. read more

We've been here for lunch and it wasn't bad. Yesterday we came for breakfast, it was really bad. I had chicken benedict. The poached eggs were cooked solid. It was like having hard boiled eggs on top of the chicken. The chicken was way overcooked as well. It was completely dried out, inedible. The biscuit underneath was ok, I ate that. My wife has eggs and pancakes. You actually needed a knife to cut the pancakes, they had the consistency of rubber. I'm not sure how you achieve that, but they did.
