Update: I visited Flying Biscuit at Park on Sunday afternoon with a large party and didn't have a great experience. I was excited for my guests to enjoy the same first- and second-time experience I had, but it didn't turn out that way. We waited over 35 minutes to be seated. That was understandable, given the restaurant's crowdedness and our large party, but we experienced unresponsiveness and aloofness. The host who checked us in at the door was inexperienced, unfriendly, disengaged, and looked annoyed when we asked for a seating update. At midday, the food options were limited, and the dishes we tried lacked flavor. The waiter, Hailey, was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and showed interest. I may visit another location, but I suggest another restaurant if you have a party of 3 or more. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Found this place by chance and so happy I did. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. I have to say, this place is such a gem. It's super cute and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love that they are playing jams from the 90s and all the vibrant murals they have on the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I believe I ordered the southern scrambler. It was fantastic! It was the food combo I didn't know I needed. Eggs, cheese,onions, collard greens, bacon (I took the bacon off, not a pork eater). It also came with a side of grits and a biscuit. The grits were really good and I liked the texture. I also enjoyed the flaky biscuit. The server was really nice and the food came out really quick and hot. Overall great experience. I gave it 4 stars but wish I could give 4.5 for sure! I will be back to try more items on the menu and vibe out to some throwback music. read more

I now see what all the hype is about! I admit I'm not a huge breakfast guy so I've missed out on Flying Biscuit despite always hearing nothing but good things. I finally got to try it this past weekend and I've really been missing out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It appears small from the outside located in the Park Road Shopping Center, but it is actually spacious inside with lots of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The walls are colorful and painted with some adorable murals dedicated to the Queen City.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a hard time deciding what I want because truthfully everything on the menu sounded delicious, but I decided to go with the Hangover Hash. It comes with some chopped up chicken tenders, chorizo, potatoes,and eggs, and of course you can't forget the cheese! It also came with a biscuit that was served with a fantastic cranberry apple butter. Paired with some mimosas for the table and it made for a wonderful brunch. I'm glad I live close by as I will need to be returning soon. read more

My server was attentive at first, but then he became distant further towards my exiting of the restaurant. I didn't like that. I got the chorizo hash and the potatoes tasted like they were cooked a day ahead. The texture made me not want to eat them. The salsa did not go with this meal. read more

Everything was sooo good! The portion sizes were huge and we had a lot to take home and eat later. The fall coffees were also incredible! We came in around noon on a Saturday and they were able to accommodate us (2 people) immediately. Tasty food with creative twists. Waffles perfectly cooked and chicken fingers full of flavors. Breading on fingers very crunchy and good. Portions are huge! Gravy was sparse and odd. Not my grandmothers thick and flavorful gravy - rather a thinner chunked blend. Good but not great. I suggest getting it on the side so you can control where it lands on your plate. Because I eat like a toddler, I ordered a separate plate and dismantled the eggs, gravy, and chicken from atop my waffle. It was too much at the party for me but tasted great separately. read more

While recently in the area, me and my boyfriend stopped in for brunch at The Flying Biscuit Cafe. We had to wait on a table, but the area is full of shops so we were able to shop while we waited. I started the meal with an iced vanilla latte. It was pretty good but just your standard latte. I ordered the honey butter chicken Benedict as my entree which came with grits. The grits were my favorite part! They were super creamy and buttery. I understand why they call them the creamy dreamy grits. The chicken had a nice flavor but it was two large pieces of chicken over a small biscuit so I wish there was more biscuit. The scrambled eggs on top were just okay but I could've done without them. They didn't really add anything to the dish. It was a nice lunch and our service was good, so I'd go back. read more

We stopped at Flying Biscuit oin the Park Road Shopping Center for a late breakfast/brunch this past week.. We arrived around 11:00 AM, a bit after the breakfast crowd and before the lunch crowd filled the place up. This place tends to be busy! Because their food is soooo good! And the service is equally good. The interior is eclectic but very comfortable. Its easy to linger over coffee after the meal is done. Their menu is extensive so order a beverage and take your time deciding what to order. There are lots of good choices. read more

Came in on a Sunday morning, quoted at a 1 hour wait and we were sat in 40mins! Waitress was very kind and attentive to our 6 top table. We all enjoyed our food! I got their Avocado Toast, pro tip: ask for cilantro on top! It's a fresh addition to their tomatoes they top it with. I do wish however their fruit was ripe. It was a disappointment to receive overly firm fruit with no sweetness. (Pictured below) My husband ordered their pancake tacos. The presentation was very sloppy. It was loaded eggs on top of very large thick pancakes. There was no "form" to them. If they were thinner and smaller in taco trays it would have ate better. Though the concept was there! Everything was excellent! We expected this place to be packed (and for good reason), but the wait was not bad at all; our expected wait time was 35 minutes, but we ended up getting seated in 20. Service was very fast, and our food came fresh from the kitchen; I could still see some steam coming out of my Southern Scramble when it was brought to me. Upon taking my first bite, I was greeted by the perfect combination of eggs, bacon, collard greens, onions, and cheese. This delicious combination continued, and I practically ate my plate clean by the end of my meal. The biscuit that came with my plate was soft and crumbly and paired well with the cranberry apple sauce that was already waiting for us on the table. The grits were creamy and a great side for the rest of the plate. There were many other options on the menu that also stood out to me; I can't wait to come back again hopefully soon to try them! read more

The Honey Butter Chicken Benedict is not your typical Benedict! Buttermilk chicken tenders and cheesy scrambled eggs come on a biscuit with home-made honey butter. I added some additional honey to give it a bit of "sauce". The Chorizo Hash is a LARGE portion of chicken chorizo potatoes, red and green peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese topped with two medium eggs, salsa and cilantro. My only dislike was, the Bloody Mary had good flavor but was very ordinary. I didn't come with anything in it not even a stalk of celery. read more

Listen man, this food was good yall. I don't usually sit outside but I even enjoyed eating this food outside sitting on the curb. My waffle with the white gravy was so fluffy. The gravy was top notch and just what I needed to end my trip down south. I didn't think grits with queso could taste so good but I tried it because I like grits and I like queso. I'm glad I did because together, they were scrumptious. Those Mac and cheese sticks didn't have any flavor but everything else was really good. Our server was cool and went out of her way to make sure we were happy with our food. I would definitely go back. It was a great location and I got to do some shopping while we waited. I chose to eat here for my birthday weekend, and what a bad choice. 1. Kids waffle - while the portion was good, it didn't have a smiling smiley face.. when it's explicitly written in the menu, you expect something cute. This wasn't it. 2. Fried green tomato - worst even I had. Tomato skin wouldn't cut even after using knife. Tomato was dry and chewy. 3. Scrambled eggs were just okay. Not the best. 4. Excellent service experience! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were very popular this morning (as usual) yet the ambiance enjoyed soft conversations[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Requested lite scrambled eggs and received PERFECTLY prepared soft scrambled eggs, it's a lost art for many Chefs! Park Road Shopping Center is poppin' on the weekends! A friend and I came here mid morning on a Saturday and it was a happening scene. The inside was busy so we opted for a table outside. There was a decent amount of sidewalk traffic and a saxophone was playing next door at Blackhawk Hardware. It was a great time people watching and catching up with a friend! We ordered hot chai tea lattes and sipped those as we waited, patiently for our food which took about 30 minutes on this busy day. The breakfast burrito and breakfast potatoes were flavorful, but the biscuit was the star of the show! I could have eaten a dozen of those biscuits with butter and jam :-) Plenty of parking and the hostess stand was clearly visible outside the entrance with smiling faces waiting to assist. Overall it was a great experience, but it did take a long time due to it being extremely busy. I will say that the two outside servers were busting their butts to get everyone served, so it is no fault to them! read more

A Southern Classic Done Right - Just Like We Remember! I wish there was more than 5 stars on this app because I would give it many more. Got off a red eye flight from CA to NC and was starving. Googled waffles and The Flying Biscuit Cafe was one of the many that popped off. It looked good in pictures so settled on it. Made the drive from the airport to the shopping center and from the outside this place looks tiny but when you go inside, its huge! The employee that helped us was friendly and the menu had a TON of options. I chose the GA Peaches and Cream Waffle Breakfast which included a large buttermilk waffle with peach compote, eggs, two chicken and sage sausage patties, a biscuit, and "creamy dreamy" grits. The food was amazing and the serving sizes so large that I could not even dream of finishing it even when I was that hungry. The waffle was dreamy and the peach compote was yummy! I always worry about compotes because I do not like the overly sweet, artificial tasting syrup-y ones but this was not that. it tasted like fresh, warm peaches. The sausage was delicious and the sage was a great balance to the chicken. I normally am not a fan of chicken sausage but it was so good. The grits were the star of the show. Coming from California, I thought I did not like grits because what is served here is often instant flavorless ones but these grits were amazing. They had white cheddar cheese in them and the texture and taste were amazing. I guess they can make a California girl enjoy grits! The one and only bad thing I can say about this place is that they were not open early enough to come back again before my flight home. This is the breakfast I will dream about for awhile! read more

We came to Flying Biscuit Cafe to meet up with family we had not seen in awhile. Love that we were not rushed - service was fantastic. What I got: Three amigos tacos - outstanding, absolutely loved these. They were full of flavor with the egg, chorizo, black bean salsa, and cheese. Loved having the trio of sauces to add even more flavor - queso, salsa verde, and hot sauce. The home fries were also flavorful. I'd get this again in a heartbeat. Everything was good as leftovers too! My husband got: The best I ever had (not pictured) - it was kind of like French toast with raspberry; served with creamy grits. He enjoyed his dish. She just plainly said would you like to have three scallops added to your meal or a lobster tail now I understand that there are many people that would go in and not have a problem with the price however, it should be stated how much the up charge is going to be and it should be in writing on the menu because we looked back on the menu and there was not a price for up charge on the scallops . My friend was not happy with the service nor the cost of the scallops . The manager did not really know how to handle the situation but because I invited everyone I wanted to make it right and I asked to pay part of her bill and of course my friend denied and said it'd be best. Given the price and reputation from my past experiences, I was expecting top tier service, food, and ambience with a quality of fish second to none in the area. Let's break it down: We had a table of 3 and each ordered the signature tasting ($60 pp, a drink, and 2 extra items (one tuna roll and the Australian wagyu hot rock, ~$20 each) 1. Service Our waitress was kind and professional, but the overall cohesion of the staff seemed off and the wait times between courses was sporadic and often too long. It took about 30 minutes from ordering to get our first course which was... a salad wrap. Not only did this seem way too long, but it was extremely underwhelming for a top tier tasting menu experience (will come back to this in the food section). After that, some courses came out overlapping each other, and some were 10-15 min apart. This made it feel less like a fine dining tasting experience and more disorganized. On top of that, the server bringing the food to the table would explain each course in a rush and we could not hear them, meaning we did not know much about each dish. Lastly, our water was consistently empty and previous corse dishes were left on the table when new ones were served, which is a minor thing but should be standard at a fine dining restaurant. Knowing how blown away I was in Austin by the original restaurant, the overall service left me feeling disappointed in bringing my friends and hyping up the place for such an expensive meal. 2. Food Our tasting menu consisted of 7 courses including a salad wrap, tuna hamachi (cold), a sea bream role, ponzu glazed salmon (hot), 2 pieces of nigiri per person, brussel sprouts, and a dessert. Having 2 of 6 core dishes be a salad and veggie at a renowned seafood restaurant was disappointing, and these did not blow me a way at all and were average at best (salad was uninteresting, brussels were cold and too saucy). The sea bream role was also just average, but the tuna hamachi, salmon, and nigiri were excellent. I felt that the portion size was small for 3 people, it was marginally bigger than a 2 person tasting and that was also slightly disappointing. We each got to choose our own dessert which was nice and included a guava and banana cake which were excellent but much too big compared to the portions of the core dishes. We also ordered the additional tuna crunchy roll and hot rock wagyu which were excellent, and a much better value than the tasting portions. Overall, the food was still good, but I distinctly remember the few times I went to the Austin restaurant being absolutely blown away by the food quality, uniqueness, and menu selection, which was not the case here. I hope this improves in the future. 3. Ambience The adaptive reuse space was awesome and the look of the place is stellar. I loved how much seating and bar space there was and the overall lighting and mood was great. The only complaint I have here is that it was very loud making it hard to hear servers and each other over conversation. No one wants to be shouting over the ambient noise when paying $100+ for a meal. For context, we are late 20s, we are not shy to louder bars and restaurants, this was especially noisy. In general, I believe this place has a ton of potential and I really hope it improves in quality and value before I come back again. At present, I would not recommend the tasting menu and instead opt for individual dishes.

The Flying Biscuit may have biscuit in the name - but the real star is their grits! I'm not someone who typically orders grits, but here they're a must! They're probably some of the best grits I've ever had. The biscuits are average. Nothing to rave about. They're kind of just there. If they didn't come with the meal I ordered I wouldn't go out of my way to have one. I've been here twice. Both times my fiancé and I came here there was a wait, but it was worth it. We simply put our name in then walked around the shopping center until our table was ready. The first time we were here I got the Cajun Chicken Scramble. It was good and the portion was huge! My fiancé and I got two separate meals but we probably could have just shared this. The second time I was here I got one of their sandwiches which came with a side. The side I chose was grilled macaroni and cheese. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but it was interesting. What came out were blocks of macaroni and cheese in the shape of a French toast stick that had literally been pressed together then grilled. Sounds odd - but it was really good! I've definitely never had anything like it before. Overall my fiancé and I really like it here. The food is very good and the staff is friendly. I'm now a big fan of The Flying Biscuit. I've never been a huge breakfast guy, but upon our last visit for Sunday breakfast/brunch, I loved every bit of it. First, the place was packed. Every table held hungry folks munching post-church and they still managed to have a 10-minute wait. We showed up and were sat at a table inside within 5 minutes. The host was a super cool guy with a baller-status mustache. Bonus! Our server was so nice. Chipper, charming, and fun. She did a great job. I ordered three pancakes. They were fluffy and textbook in flavor. I couldn't eat them all, but I got through most of them. Ordered a side of their legendary grits. Goodness. Those grits are a meal in and of themselves! So thick and creamy. You know what I'm talking about. My wife ordered the veggie pasta, sausage, and eggs. It comes with soy-sage, but it actually tasted great. It's a great combo. Coffee was hot, servers were quick, prices are fair. Breakfast that's close to home. I'm a fan. Sign me up! read more

Everything about this place is good, the atmosphere, the lively weekend crowds, and the food is great. However, they are not Second Amendment supporters. They have a NO HANDGUN sign on the front door. Criminals, by their very nature of breaking the law, will not let a sticker on a door stop them from perpetrating their acts. Law-abiding Second Amendment supporters have been shown time and time again to be responsible citizens. We take the responsibility of carrying a firearm very seriously, and we are not about to break the law to go to jail and to lose our precious God-given right to self-defense. Over and over again, these so-called gun free zones are simply shooting galleries for criminals. For this reason I cannot recommend this restaurant, even though they have gone out of their way to craft custom breakfast meals for me that are not on the menu. read more

Like the food, but they can't get a to-go order correct for anything. 1st time, they put their sauce all over the bun of my turkey burger. I drove all the way back to get another one, while my husband's dinner grew cold and had to be reheated. They didn't offer anything such as a discount, or free dessert. Then, when they gave me the correct turkey burger, they left out the side! 2nd time, I explained about the mishap, and when I arrived, I was assured that everything had been fixed correctly. Wrong. Got home, no cheese on the burger, and no side at all. I called, but hung up after being on hold for about a minute. There was nothing they could do to fix my order, and I wanted to eat the food I DID have while it was fresh. read more

Highlight: Best grits I have ever had! Just went here for the first time and I'm absolutely stuffed! We ordered a side of their grits as our friends insisted that we couldn't leave without trying them- they were spot on. I'm not a fan of grits- at all- but their grits were delicious! I didn't order anything crazy for breakfast (the standard eggs, potatoes, bacon, and biscuit) - the biscuit was pretty good and the apple butter was delicious. Been to the original one in Atlanta, and it's one of the coolest places ever. This isn't quite at that level ... hard to be quite that awesome since it's now part of a chain and in a more suburban setting. Still delicious, well-price food though. Good for kids, except that food doesn't come out in a hurry. Cool that the front of the restaurant raises like a garage door. Décor is fun ... kind of a copy of the original.
