    Rustic Eggs Benedict

We enjoyed my husbands birthday here last weekend! We had espresso martinis and the brunch one to go with our Egg Benedict's. My husband and I didn't really like the brunch ones, felt like an unbalanced cocktail but the espresso was delicious. Would love if they offered lattes, they are halfway there! Anywho we would definitely go back super tasty breakfast.

My friend and I stopped in for lunch and the first thing we noticed was how charming the space is--it looks like a cozy little house with décor that gives "classic hometown café" vibes. Our server (I believe his name was Nate--red hair, super friendly!) He was very attentive and welcoming. As for the food, it just didn't quite hit the mark for us. The dishes could've used a bit more seasoning and flavor. Because of that, I'm not sure if it would be a go-to spot for me personally--but I always say everyone has different taste, so you may have a totally different experience

Started our vacation with a visit to 300 East, which we had seen featured in a past episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. It was a really nice meal and evening, and we look forward to returning again. What we loved: * [[HIGHLIGHT]]quaint location in a pretty neighborhood location.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] * easy free parking * [[HIGHLIGHT]]cool homey vibe in a converted house[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] * creative cocktails * exceptional hummus with pickled vegetables to start. * generous portions made with fresh ingredients * best in class French onion soup What didn't go as well * [[HIGHLIGHT]]we were seated at an out of the way table on the second floor. It was both a little loud from the way noise rose, and we felt a bit forgotten with service that was a bit slow at multiple points[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. All in all, it feels a bit like going to a great meal at the house of a friend who can really cook. Would probably make a regular place to eat if we lived closer, but probably not exceptional enough to plan to regularly return as a special destination.

Just skip it. The food has no taste. The asparagus was blanched and no seasoning. The crab cake only tasted fried nothing else. The mashed potatoes were ok, cuz I added salt. The drinks weren't even good. First time and last time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I wasn't even impressed with the ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This looking like your grandma house didn't save it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Service is awesome but when they take my favorites off the menu. Well you get 3 stars. I miss the roasted potato pizza, cajon penne pasta, stuffed ck breast with goat chz and cranberry sauce, and now the apple chutney chicken sandwhich. At least they still have the matilda wong

This is probably the place I eat the most in Charlotte. I love coming here with friends for lunch. The food is consistent, the customer service is always polite and the desserts are not only good but beautiful! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have indoor and outdoor seating , perfect for spring and summer[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

It's been years since I have been here even though it's wonderful. Came here for brunch with a friend. We had a reservation but arrived 20 minutes early. They still were able to seat us when we arrived and we enjoyed a space upstairs by the windows. Our server was very attentive. We enjoyed the seasonal sweet roll (dark chocolate and vanilla) and I enjoyed an apple cider mimosa along with my breakfast tacos. The tacos didn't skimp on the eggs or chorizo, which I appreciate. My friend enjoyed the French toast special.

Great brunch experience today! We shared a cast iron sweet roll with mascarpone and blueberry glaze. Delicious. And my Grits Bowl did not disappoint. Cute and spacious front patio. And plenty of indoor seating in the cute old house.

Wow, hardly never do I say 6 stars but our Sunday Brunch experience was exactly that. We both got the breakfast burger special. It came with grit fries. I substituted the sausage burger for a veggie burger and that was perfect. The server was realized and helpful. Service was fast which was great because we were hungry. We would definitely return. They have a variety of seating options and we even saw small dogs on the patio. This is a family-friend restaurant.

My friend lives in the South End and recommended this spot for brunch. I ended up ordering the breakfast tacos with fruit on the side and a mimosa. When we arrived, there was a 30-minute wait for indoor seating since we didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get an outdoor table right away. The tacos were tasty, and the service was solid. Overall, it's a cute place to catch up over breakfast or brunch.

Overall experience was a mixed bag this time. Cons: 1. Host was inattentive and had me seat myself. 2. Food was underwhelming. 3. Flies outside. Pros: 1. Waitress was great. 2. Outdoor seating was cute until the food arrived (see con #3). 3. Tasty brownie for my birthday!

Our experience at 300 East was just okay. I was a little disappointed because I have heard such great things! I will say, the outdoor seating is very cute. We were in a great spot and it would've been perfect if it wasn't for the bugs. Our service was okay...we did end up having to grab ourselves silverware and salt/pepper but not a big deal. We all agreed all of our food was just okay. Nothing in particular stood out. The pasta special they had was definitely a least favorite.

Is 300 east fancy enough for a prom dinner or would you look out of place?

This was easily the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant from start to finish. I'm not saying they're racist, but I can't say that they aren't. I'll let you be the judge of that. All I know is that none of the Caucasian people around me shared the same experience. Let me explain: We came for dinner before the Charlotte Orchestra show right across from the restaurant last Friday night. Let me start by saying that there were only 5-6 tables full at one time while we were there. I met my friend, who is also black, at 6:40; she had gotten there around 6:15 and placed her order. Not only had she not received her meal by the time I got there, 15 minutes later no one had come to our table to take my order until I flagged a waiter down and asked for our server. Meanwhile, every table that was sat around us was provided ice waters moments after arrival and their orders were taken promptly thereafter. When our waitress finally came to our table she either wasn't knowledgeable about the menu or didn't care enough to tell me what their current dip selection was, instead she said that she would check with the chef. I put in my order for the steakhouse burger that she recommended cooked medium and we waited a little over 15 minutes more before my friends burger came out and was taken to every table on the patio except ours before they took it back inside and then finally brought it back out to her. Needless to say the fries were cold at that point and the black bean burger was lukewarm. We were both starving so she reluctantly ate what she could before sitting it aside. I waited and waited for the waitress to come tell me what dips were in the trio appetizer before finally flagging her down as she passed our table without making eye contact. She finally told me and disappeared again after I added the trio to my order. My burger finally comes out over 30 minutes after I ordered it and it's raw, like pink all the way around and oozing bloody juices raw. I turn to my fries for sustenance and they are just meh but at least they're hot. Gotta celebrate the small wins. I show my waitress the raw burger and tell her that I don't want anything else because we didn't have time to wait since we're now late to our show due to the lack of service. She disappears again for so long that I had to go inside and find a manager who stated that they were "short staffed but that is no excuse." I accept the lame half apology and go back to wait for our check that never came. We had to go back inside and ask for it. When we did the manager finally said that he would comp both of our meals. That was the only highlight of the situation. I'm hopeful that the service has improved since this happened however I will continue to steer clear of this place.

They also made perfect combination for our selections. And the best selections for drinks and desserts. Since then, I've even ordered on Uber eats and my food came just as perfect. This is a great go to place for good Indian food. If you're in the uptown area it's located below the Green parking lot, which is across from the Knight theater. The…read morespace was airy, modern and light with a 360 degree bar, high ceilings and well spaced tables. I was intrigued by the item "Chef's Bite", that's it, no further explanation. As I suspected, it was an 'amuse bouche' offered from the kitchen. Today it was a Deviled Egg with a mustard-forward center, even containing black mustard seeds for flavor and crunch. As a fan of Sicilian arancini, I ordered the Dogwood's version as an appetizer. I was surprised to see several small rice balls, the size of hush puppies. I was expecting a single larger offering; 'arancini' after all mean orange in Italian. The risotto spheres were stuffed with pimento cheese and instead of the typical marina sauce, the kitchen had substituted a tomato jam with a subtle sweet finish. It was a successful southern riff on a Sicilian standard. Although I had been directed to order the Duck and Dumplings, my eye drifted to the Shrimp and Grits. I hadn't had much Carolinian food this trip.... The dish did not disappoint. It was amply loaded with flavorful shrimp and accented with good-quality andouille sausage slices, all over a well executed plate of grits. Service was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. This one is going in the book to return to.

My Ceasar Salad with chicken was pretty tasty, too. Service from Devon was very good and food runners delivered food to the right spots without prompting. I went back later in the evening for a bite and cocktail at the bar and I was completely ignored. Bartenders kept just clearing and taking orders from people walking up. Infuriating. Its a shame that the restaurant is just poorly managed.
