I really like Buho Bar. The service is fantastic every time, the drinks are really well made, and the ambiance is gorgeous and very inviting. That said, the music just doesn't match the energy of the space. It's upbeat, but not in a way that makes you want to sing along or actually dance. I was really hoping for more of a mixed genre where you can have those fun, in-your-own-little-corner dance moments, and it just fell a bit flat there. If they ever level up the music, this place would honestly be perfect. Charlotte really needs a spot that combines this kind of beautiful ambiance with music you can actually move to. Note to manager : find a DJ that can play all types of music. (80's, 90's, Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Pop, etc..) read more

Come for the view, stay for the vibes! I stumbled into this bar on a whim and ended up really enjoying myself. The liquor selection is quite nice, with some higher end pours available. The bar staff is friendly and helpful as you navigate the options. I was feeling peckish and ordered the chicken wings. Please know that though these were the tiniest wings I have ever seen, they were packed with flavor, well prepared, and satisfied my desire to nibble on something while drinking. Do not order if you are starving, they will absolutely tick you off. I however, would order them again because they were that tasty. The drinks are balanced and made with consistency. I would say that the vibe of this bar was sexy but elegant... a lot of red everywhere! I did not have the opportunity to actually go outside and sit, but I do not think the view is super amazing. However, I enjoyed the vibes inside as there was good music playing. The server took some time to come around and get our second round of orders, but I understand that it can get busy. I ordered the La Puesta del Sol and split the Spanish Chorizo Flatbread and Boozy Ice Cream Sandwiches with my friends. The La Puesta del Sol tasted really good! Almost like fruit punch. The Spanish Chorizo Flatbread was AMAZING! It had aged cheddar, salsa verde, pico de gallo, and chorizo on it and it was a perfect combination. The chorizo was very yummy and the cheese with super cheesy. Definitely a must have at this bar. The Boozy Ice Cream Sandwiches were cool, but I would say a hit or miss. I thought that the Chocolate Crinkle Cookie with Coffee Brandy Ice Cream was alright... it was a thin cookie and a bit too heavy in terms of both the chocolate and coffee flavors. I do not like "funfetti" flavors so the Funfetti Cookie with Raspberry Vodka Ice Cream was okay to me, but my friends really liked it! They did mention that the ice cream did not taste like vodka at all, likely because it was a thinner sandwich. Meanwhile, I really liked the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie with White Chocolate Rum Ice Cream. It was the thickest of the ice cream sandwiches and the strongest tasting in terms of alcohol. It is definitely the place for small plates and drinks before hitting a bar, club, or more drinks and music focused lounge. Here you can eat a bit, try really great drinks that have incredible flavor profiles, and enjoy the luxurious decor. Like the Grand Bohemian does, the sultry, velvet, gold embellished, upscale look screams "if you get it , you get it" without too much eclectic furniture or patterns. We also had great service, sitting down almost immediately, plenty room at the bar (this was around 8/8:30 pm on a Saturday, and fast drinks and food orders. Our waiter was Montino (I think- I hate I forgot his name) but he was INCREDIBLE! He was knowledgeable, efficient, and knew the menu in and out! We got the lamb chops and fries to nibble on. The lamb was PERFECTLY cooked but the sauce paired with it, like a take on chimichurri, was missing a bit of flavor. The plain fries are amazing! Must thicker than I imagined and the aioli was just okay but likely would be better with the fries fully loaded. Definitely will be back!!! read more

This is a beautiful rooftop bar located inside the grand bohemian hotel. When you walk into the hotel, check in with the hostess stand who will then get you an elevator to the top floor. Immediately when you get off the elevator, you're in awe! The decor is top notch and really makes it feel classy,and elegant! I went in December and there were nice touches for the holiday season as well. The restrooms even were decorated out beautifully! The staff was very friendly and attentive! They had a great memory and were very in tuned with surroundings and folks! There was some really playing a guitar inside of the bar. It was a nice touch having live music. The outside portion of the bar has heaters in December and nice comfortable seating all around. There is also a fire pit that is beautiful! This is the rooftop bar of the Grand Bohemian hotel in Uptown and from the minute you walk through the gilded doors, you feel like you've walked through a portal to some exotic, luxe, and artsy space that feels more Miami, LA, Barcelona than Charlotte. On a perfect Autumn day, the patio is exquisite to take in the fresh air (16 stories up, it just hits different) with partially obscured skyline views and some really eye-popping interior decor! Their cocktail menu is fun (and pricey) but you at least get what you pay for! They have a small bar food menu and we had the street corn twisty fries. It definitely could have used more corn and we ordered an aioli on the side because it was all UNDER the fries. That little oversight aside, it was a wonderful experience! Our server was exceptional, our glasses were never empty, and the minute we looked up from our conversation he was there to ask what we needed. Part of the fun is walking through the space and checking out all the awesome artwork and decor! It's like a free art exhibit included w/your drinks! You don't get a full sunset view from the patio, but the changing colorful hues on a clear day are still breathtaking! Your mouth will begin to tingle and make the drink taste frothy. SO cool! I highlh recommend the Crab Fondidio! The Spanish Daydream is actually a dream. The atmosphere of the bar is out of this world. Honestly great for a date night, girls night or to take visitors. I would pass on the Shrimp Lettuce Wraps next time. They're small and assembly is required. The Smoked Paprika Chicken Flatbread had a sweet taste that I wasn't expecting but maybe some would like it. I went to Buho with a few friends on the 4th of July. Our experience was less than stellar as the manager on duty, Drew, tended to our table with the waiter Juan. Juan was personable and professional, providing menu recommendations and was overall pleasant. Our food and drinks we great. We did not receive the same service from Drew. She was unpleasant from the time she sat us down. Asking us to make table room for our food was simply out of line. As a guest, I've never had a waitress ask me to rearrange the items on the table, as their job is to provide service. Drew rolled her eyes in front of us when Juan asked her if we could have puree for our Prosecco bottle and said we could not. That is when i realized she didn't want to serve us or provide courtesy service as this was her own personal decision to deny us something she could have provided. When we inquired about the manager, we were shocked to learn she was the manager. For an establishment like this, i was appalled at her appearance. Her entire suit was extremely wrinkled. For my first visit, this was not a positive experience. I hope this review reaches the restaurant manager as Drew needs soft skills training amongst other coaching. read more

I came here for an event so my review is going to be based on that experience & not one of a regular night here. When you arrive I highly suggest parking with the valet instead of looking for parking around the city, the guys that were on staff were extremely sweet & do handle your vehicle with care. Upon entering you're greeted by the front desk prior to making your pivot to the elevators where there are two people waiting to send you up to your floor. The decor here is magnificent & when you get on the elevator it's mirrored so you can take pictures from all angles should you desire. Once you step off, you are immediately greeted & escorted to the bar which is situated away from the elevators. Everything here is gorgeous although I could do away with some of the paintings (but that's my personal preference) The outdoor patio space is nicely decorated with an egg chair & plenty of seating overlooking the city. There was a VIP bar situated outside & a bar for the rest of the guests the inside bar that could've done better with maybe two more bartenders but the ones they did have on staff were amazing at what they did, it was busy so no complaints on the wait for a drink. You cannot make reservations and seating is first come first serve. Though, the restaurant is spacious, with a large bar seating area and both indoor/outdoor seating. I came on a Saturday night and only had to wait in the lobby for 5-10 minutes before I was cleared to go up. The food and drinks were fun. They have a very interesting drink menu so I ordered my favorite Old Fashioned and our waitress recommended a super cool drink that is served with a honeycomb and a Buzz Button. Who even know about a buzz button but WOW, was that an experience!!! You bite the buzz button and it numbs your tongue, then you taste a bit of the honeycomb then follow with the drink. OMG is was like a party in your mouth; definitely worth trying for sure. About these drinks .... the prices are steep! $20 for an Old Fashioned??? Most of their drinks ranged from $14 to $20. Having brunch at Mico at the Grand Bohemian, we discovered the rooftop bar, Bohu Bar was finally open on a Sunday! Not a particularly warm day for the rooftop, but they have fire pits plus a indoor area with a bar too. Loved the decor, bold colors, great seating big spaces, we got seated in an area where there was no one so felt like our own private room. Beautiful chandeliers, great art work, great music, just a nice vibe. Inside was great. Our servers was great too, all staff had on masks, and you have to wear one too til your seated. Having just had brunch, we just wanted drinks. Got a nice bottle of Rosè, nice and dry and well chilled. Later we ordered a cheese board and a smoked paprika chicken flatbread. The board was good, basic cheeses, and a couple of meats and bread crisps and fig preserve. Loved the board it came on. The flatbread was really good , big chucks of chicken, nice paprika in sauce, and drizzle chili oil. Nice crispy crust too. Good food to go with the wine. When space opened up outside we had the server move us outside to the fire pit. Nice area huge pits, and nice couches, and hanging swing pods like things ! Really nice casual, yet nice space. Will be great in summertime. Since we were celebrating a birthday, our sever gave us a dessert in the house. Really good flourless chocolate cake. With ice cream. Was delicious, nice and rich .
