This was my first time at The Wine Loft. I was there to support friend of mine for her debut as a poet. I didn't get pictures of the food we mainly got appetizers, the flatbread pizza was delicious and so was the nachos I really like the colored chips. The bang bang shrimp was not overly spicy. Now the lobster mac & cheese.i was not a fan. I didn't see or taste any lobster and it lacked seasoning and it wasn't creamy. However my espresso martini. Was on point. Our server was polite and the food was on the table quickly. This is a great place to just hang out with friends, or a first date. It's small and intimate. And the have outdoor seating available. We had reservations on a Wednesday night. Ambiance was great, service was good, wine was excellent, food was subpar. We ordered the dip trio and the ice cream charcuterie. The olive dip on the dip trio was too salty to eat. The whipped feta tasted store bought. Our main issue was with the ice cream charcuterie. For $19, it was incredibly disappointing. The sauces came on one plate and were very sloppy. The brownie bites weren't warmed. The cookie bites were too small to eat with the ice cream and tasted like stale Walmart cookies (not the good kind either). It was very disappointing and overall lackluster. I came here last week for dinner for the first time. I've been eyeing the Wine Loft for awhile, I pass it every time I drive through South End and shop around Atherton so it was moving up on my list. I arrived around 730pm on a Tuesday so it was not too crowded loud at the time. I found parking right on the street without any difficulty. I tried a glass of Riesling and then Prosecco and had a small meat & cheese board and the meatballs and burrata small plate. The cheeseboard had a decent variety but could have used a dipping sauce or two to accompany. The meatballs was a nice generous portion and came with some extra slices of bread. I enjoyed my meal overall but service was a little slow wrapping up. The staff was pleasant and friendly though. Vibes are relaxed and cozy in here overall, decent value for money. The Wine Loft is the perfect place to catch up with a friend, vibe on a date or read a book while enjoying a drink (guilty). The cocktails are the standard expectation for the area, but they're wonderfully made and after a few visits, I've yet to be disappointed. I also appreciate that they offer half off wine bottles on Sundays. And if you follow them on IG then you'll be able to keep up with their live music offerings. This place honors reservations, and while the servers and owners are great and I've always been lucky with grabbing a seat at the bar, save yourself the wait by making a reservation if you're planning to check it out on the weekends. The loveliness of this place is tied to their food menu offering a variety selections, including hummus, quesadilla or a pepperoni flatbread - because it all pairs well with wine. There's parking available behind the building, but it can fill up quickly during the weekend buzz so be prepared to park on the side street, if needed. This place is a great date night option as it is a very intimate setting with dim lighting. We were actually able to hold a conversation and not have to battle with talking over the music. The service was excellent, but there also weren't too many people here as it was a Thursday. We originally came to try the wine, but the specialty cocktail of the day really caught my attention. While I don't quite remember the name of it I do remember it had Rye Whiskey, Simple Syrup with red wine floating on top. I was sold at floating wine! We opted for the charcuterie board which is the chef's pick. My date ordered a Malbec which he really enjoyed. They do offer wine flights as well. Although I never posted a review of The Wine Loft previously I had visited years ago and wasn't impressed. So, after hearing The Wine Loft is under new management and seeing recent reviews I recommended this to some friends last weekend. We arrived shortly before 7 and figured we would enjoy a few drinks and small bites and then head to dinner. I enjoyed the atmosphere, quaint with a modern twist, and love the fact they have an outdoor patio...even if it is on South Blvd with cars driving by, ha ha! The bites were all okay, can't say I was blown away with anything and the service not so great. I can't figure out if they have "regulars" so they focus on them or it was just an off night. Overall, I would be willing to go again but not sure this would be my first pick for a glass of wine and small bites. read more

I had the pleasure of checking this spot out on a Wednesday evening around 6:00pm. We parked in the lot at the rear of the loft. There is an entrance that will take you to the back of the establishment from the parking lot. This appears to be the entrance that most patrons utilized. However, there is also an entrance at the front off of South Blvd. When we arrived there were no other patrons, however, most tables had reservation signs on them. Prior to our departure the place had a decent crowd. It's a Small space, hence the use of "loft" in the name. They have a decent amount of bar seats, and about 8-9 tables. I would describe the seating as modern bistro. They also have outdoor seating and there is a stage at the front of the loft. Who else misses live entertainment?? The staff was very personable and actually seem to love their jobs. Additionally the owner was very engaging and you can tell he likes to build a rapport with patrons. The bartender Katie is extremely passionate about her craft. She even has a tattoo about making cocktails, now that's how you show you are all in! This should also be an indication to you that she means business! Her cocktails should be nominated for awards. She made us a drink she called To Bee or not to Bee. I don't recall everything in the cocktail but I do recall egg white and bee pollen. It was stellar and like no other cocktail I have ever experienced. We tried several menu items to include a flatbread, Shrimp dish, Asian meatballs, and an artisan cheese and salami board. My favorite small plate was the sweet heat tempura shrimp. However, everything I tried was tasty. Now dessert-- oh my goshhhh! The face I made when I took the first bite. This thing was unreal. It is called the flourless chocolate caketail. This consists of the flourless cake, kaluha, Bailey's Irish Creme, and whipped cream! Yes, this took me to my happy place. If you can't tell, I really enjoyed this spot. If you have Not checked it out, I highly recommend that you do. Side note: they have a humidor with a decent selection of cigars! I can only speak to the wine selection and ambiance here, as I didn't try the food. I visited on Valentine's Day and there was a live band that was enjoyable! The table was cozy but was perfect for date night before dinner. The service was great here and I was even handed a rose upon entry and had my seat pulled out for me. Had an amazing time last night at the Elijah Craig bourbon tasting lastnight. My gentleman and I learned alot and got exposure to some of Heaven Hill's spirits that I never even knew I liked. And yes they will be added to my collection in the near future. During the 4 pour tasting we got a chance to learn about the VINTAGE the new cigar bar that will be opened up at the beginning of next month and I am super excited about that. On Wednesday they have wine down Wednesdays ans Fridays they have live music. The Wine loft has a very sexy vibe with low modern seating .... it reminds me of a 1920s speakeasy with a modern vibe. BOY WE HAD A TIME LAST NIGHT (well this afternoon), I absolutely had a blast here. My large party of 8 got cut down to 3, but honestly I think that made it better because we had the whole place to ourselves so we felt like we were being catered to. Sergio (who needs a raise or some kind of recognition for his service today) was amazing. He stayed on top of everything. There wasn't a moment that we wanted for anything & outside of being our server he was very friendly & shared some personal information about himself that jump started conversation after conversation. The shareable charcuterie board was magnificent, there were so many flavor combinations I almost died. I'm my humble opinion if you do visit this establishment you need one of these for yourself. I couldn't stop mixing meats, jellies & cheeses and the presentation was on point. My friend got the chicken yakatori & ended up ordering it twice (shout out to the chef on staff today) the drinks here are definitely call your man to come get you potent & I loved that for us. It's small but the ambiance makes it seem so much bigger than it is. I recommend for Sunday Funday & try everything! The whole menu looked like a hit. I wanted to try the bbq chicken flat bread but I went to town on the board & had to pace myself after but it's definitely on my list of things to try for my next visit. This little hidden wine bar has a nice concept and great vibes. Perfect for a date or gathering with a few friends. They have parking attached to it which is nice, as well as an outdoor area. I visited on a Thursday night, and I will say their bartender is great. Like the drinks I tried were superb. Highly recommend the "Release the Kraken" cocktail. I tried the tomato and mozzarella flatbread, which was simple but good anyway - helpful when you're trying to munch on something while drinking. The food is nothing amazing really - just enough to save you from getting too, too drunk. I LOVED the saxophonist. The live jazz music was great and even romantic. A cute little vibe. Now unfortunately, it's likely I wont return here for some time being that I will now go get tested for COVID. They are NOT observing or enforcing COVID-19 guidelines. The place in itself is very small, like really tight in there. They did not cap how many people entered, or if people were or were not wearing masks. We were packed in like sardines tbh. Ultimately I was uncomfortable with this and left. If you are a high risk individual, I would say stay away from here until COVID is under control. Although this was not my first visit, I am okay with adding a review. I visited on a rainy night to pass the time. I settled on The Wine Loft because they have parking in the back. It was a quiet night with one other occupied table inside. Service was quick and cordial. I ordered a pizza (how quickly I have forgotten the name). It was akin to a Margherita pizza. Wine Loft is a super cool spot! I really enjoy the dimly-lit, intimate feel of the space, and their playlist always has nice mellow hits. They definitely have a wide array of wines and a fully stocked bar for mixed drinks. I typically sit at the bar for drinks, but I went on a Saturday for my birthday recently and had food, which was fine but a bit overpriced for the quantity. Also, on Friday and Saturday nights they have live music (and performers have a little "stage" to sing on, which is cute). On the night of my birthday celebration, there was a singing duet that I honestly was not feeling (lol). From what I can tell of those listed on the restaurant's events page, most of the artists fall into the "Folk" category...I'm sure there are many people who enjoy folk music, but I felt that the artists actually detracted from my experience and probably have a niche audience. My preference would've been a nice playlist through the aux system, or for live music, I believe that Jazz is a much more universal genre and also, fits the ambiance of the space better and would allow for patrons to have conversations and not be drowned out by singers. I hate writing poor reviews but I have to be honest so I have to do it. The entire experience was disappointing. Parking is huge pain but that is how it is in this area so it is what it is. The service was terrible the entire time. We walked in and were ignored for a while and it stayed poor like that the rest of the time. My three friends and I all ordered wine and food and all of it was super boring, lacking in flavor, and took forever to arrive. It was weird because it seemed like they didn't want customers but they also took forever to do anything which prolonged our visit. Sweet... this place surprised me on the inside. From the outside, it looks like an un-assuming little place next to the Lowe's and Five Guys, but it does have a cool vibe to it once you go in. Stopped by on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy, there were a couple of groups eating dinner(?). The reason for the question mark is that their plates were wiped clean of food... I guess that means it was good. Our group of friends was large enough to occupy the "reserved" area in the front that steps up. It was nice just lounging and enjoying a couple of bottles of wine. After the sun went down, the place got pretty dim inside and really reminded me of something you would see in Vegas. The bathrooms are super clean (also dark)... I don't recall seeing a black toilet with so much water pressure in my life - also could have been the wine, but still. Definitely have to come back and sample more bottles. read more
