My two friends and I tried this place last night for dinner. A girl dinner if you will. We were super excited to try it as none of us had been able to make it there before since they've opened. However, to be honest, I wasn't very impressed and neither were they. We started with the Prosciutto carpaccio and the Whipped Ricotta appetizers to share. Both of those were pretty good and the bread that came along with it was good too. It was grilled and nice and crispy. For drinks, one of my friends ordered the rosé wine flight, I ordered their house red wine, and my other friend ordered wine as well. The wine selection was good so we are pleased with that. It was our main entrées that we ordered that we were not pleased with. For example, I ordered the steak skewer, which I understood would be a small plate, but when it came out to find that it was just one skewer was a little bit misleading, and I wish that I had ordered something else because that was not enough for my dinner. Our server didn't come back to check on us after our food arrived so I wasn't even able to add any more small plates. In addition, my friend did not enjoy her pasta at all, and I tried to bite, and it was not good. Only my friend who ordered the Bolognese pasta was pleased with her dinner choice. Due to our server not coming back to our table to check on us and also didn't really give us suggestions of what to order or how to order I wasn't very pleased with our experience. I don't know if I would come back because honestly, the meal was pretty mid for how expensive it was priced. Double Chocolate Cake (5/5): Thick, dense, and rich. This was my kind of cake. The ganache on top was great too. Short Rib Bolognese (4/5): Very creamy with great flavors. The meat was nice and tender too. Octopus Chorizo (4/5): Extremely tender octopus with a seasoning that was a bit strong. The beans complemented it well though. House Cut Za'Atar Fries (4/5): Thick cut fries with lots of seasoning. Pretty solid but nothing special. The aoili was fine but nothing special. Shrimp Skewer (3/5): Nothing special, just shrimp on a skewer. I was hoping for more of a grilled flavor. Gnocchi & Lamb (3/5): Very soft gnocchi. The lamb was strong and pretty gamey. It's been awhile, but this place is still amazing and so good! Hoping it won't be almost 2 years til I come back. Monday night, half price wine by the glass or bottle, all of them on the list! Love when they do that without limitations. So we went with a glass of champagne! Because why not when it's half price! Service was excellent , and the food just awesome . So fresh and delicious. The menu here is so nice and varied with so many options. We started with the prosciutto carpaccio, paper thin prosciutto with olive oil, and fresh Parmesan and fresh greens, white balsamic and hazelnut. This was amazing, just yummy. The roasted mushrooms, come on a sliced yogurt, with verde hummus, and sumac onions. Again so flavorful and so many different things going on in this dish. Highly recommend this. The short rib bolognese. A fabulous small plate, but plenty for two . This sauce was so good with the fresh grilled bread they serve. The pasta was perfectly cooked, spinach flavored. Truffle ricotta, and crispy prosciutto on top, nice pieces of short rib too. This was an excellent dish. We were truly full so had to pass on dessert but we did get a after dinner espresso martini, called the Salud! A Spanish table toast, peppermint infused tequila, espresso, licor 43, coffee liquor and creme de cacao. Served frozen, this tasted like an Andes mint. Perfect after dinner drink. Chapter 6 is an absolute gem next to other popular venues. Parking can be a nightmare, especially on nights and weekends, so plan ahead. I took my (then-) boyfriend here for his birthday dinner, and we decided to go all in with The Treatment, a chef's tasting experience where you hand the menu over to your server and let them take you on a culinary journey. At a great price, this is totally worth it. Honestly, if two people order it, it's like getting 3-4 meals. We had plenty for dinner and still took leftovers home. It was also 1/2-price bottle of wine night, so we indulged in a bottle of Moreau-Naudet Chablis after consulting the sommelier through our server. Perfect pairing for the evening. Here's the breakdown of our tasting adventure: Course 1: Whipped Ricotta with Mint-Pistachio Pistou & EVOO. Our favorite dish of the night, even though neither of us typically likes ricotta! Light, refreshing, and packed with flavor. I'm tempted to recreate this at home. Course 2: Roasted Carrots with Maple Glaze, Pistachio Dukka, Tahini & Pomegranate. A pleasant surprise. Perfectly roasted, and every ingredient complemented the carrots beautifully. Course 3: Fried Skate Cheek (special) with Bok Choy, Poblano, Onion & Sesame. Showstopper alert. I'd come back just for this dish. Please make this a permanent menu item! Course 4: Octopus & Chorizo with Fingerling Potatoes, Hominy, Adobo & Sauce Vierge. We love grilled octopus, and this one delivered--great flavor and texture. Course 5: Butcher's Salad with Sliced Steak, Almonds, Basil, Mint, Torn Croutons, Oranges, Red Onion & Spicy Harissa Vinaigrette. Don't let "salad" fool you. This was hearty and delicious. The steak was perfectly cooked, and that harissa vinaigrette? I'd buy a bottle. Course 6: Gnocchi & Lamb with Braised Lamb Neck, Sofrito & Basil. This one fell flat for us. We love lamb, but the flavor didn't pop compared to the other dishes, and I'm just not a gnocchi fan. Course 7: Sherry Braised Pork Cheek with Potato Chip, Sherry Jus & Herbs. One of my top three courses! The pork cheek was incredible. The potato chips were fine, but they got soggy from the jus. Still, the meat made up for it. Cherry on top: They surprised us with a free birthday dessert--a baklava nest and crumble with homemade vanilla ice cream. We were stuffed but managed a few bites. Baklava is so good, isn't it!?! This wasn't my first visit. I came when they first opened, and while it was good, they had some kinks to work out. They've absolutely nailed it now. Work holiday party was a success. Best environment and superb service. Our team wanted for nothing. Smiling faces everywhere with served rotating small plates. Western Mediterranean bold and delightful dishes. Will definitely make a return visit. My husband and I returned to Chapter 6 one Saturday evening for dinner. Why did we wait so long to return? First, they now partially validate parking in the attached garage--you just have to pay $5 to exit. I appreciate that the garage accepts ApplePay, too. This time, we sat in the main dining room (with the bar), in a high-top table facing the Rail Trail. What a great view and seat! We much prefer this area as opposed to the dining room near the hostess stand, as it was a bit more casual and great for people-watching. We started with two drinks--the Peace and Friendship for me, and the Saint-Tropez for my husband. The Peace and Friendship was served in a smaller than average sized coupe glass, but it had just the right flavor and alcohol. The Saint-Tropez was a bit smokey, and my husband enjoyed it. We shared four small plates - 1. Melty Nduja - A, This was one of our favorites! The light, oiled bread they serve with it was fantastic, and we appreciated the spicy, flavorful cheese. 2. Spicy Tuna Crudo - A, This was a small portion (with only three thin slices of tuna), but it was full of flavor. 3. Skate Wing - A, This was my favorite dish! It was tender, flaky, and the sauce was amazing, especially with the added bacon and capers. 4. Gnocchi and Lamb - B+, This was the largest of the plates and the lamb was shredded and cooked perfectly. The gnocchi were large, soft pillows that were also cooked well. Our only thought was that this dish could have used either a spoonful of ricotta or shredded parmesan or pecorino romano for a more balanced flavor. I have been here many times and never disappointed. The cocktails are great from espresso martinis to the classic spritz tower. I love how the menu is great to share a bunch of small plates with the table, and I always get the amuse bouche and at least one variation of the kebabs. We went here for a girls night out this past weekend. I've been wanting to check it out as I've heard great things. First off, our server Aimee was amazing! We really enjoyed having her as our server. She was very knowledgeable and personable. She also had the sommelier help us pick wine which ended up being delicious! We all split a few menu items and everything was outstanding. The whipped ricotta is a MUST. Aimee also recommended we get the braised pork cheek. Got to end 2025 with a bang when I came here with a small group on NYE for some food and cocktails! Located along the light rail in South End, Chapter 6 is one of the latest offerings from Rare Roots Hospitality which has a great track record here in the Queen City. The restaurant is located inside a mixed use development and they will partially validate to park in the garage in the building although it seems silly to me that they wouldn't fully validate parking for their restaurant guests, but it only ended up being like $5.00 to park so it wasn't a huge deal. They are Mediterranean tapas focused along with an impressive cocktail menu. The restaurant itself feels upscale and trendy, and maybe it was just because it was NYE but everyone seemed dress to impress the night we went in, so it makes for an elegant night out. We started with some whipped ricotta on toasted bread and the ricotta had a great mint pistachio flavor. It made for an excellent start to the meal and I highly recommend. For small plates they have various pasta options as well as some skewers with various meats and vegetables. We sampled a few, my personal favorite was the gnocchi and lamb, the short rib bolognese is also top notch. We had a great night out and I would highly recommend this place for a fun night out with friends and family or a nice date night. It can get kind of pricey and because their focus is on small plates and tapas you might end up ordering a lot of plates so I probably wouldn't be a regular here, mostly using it for special occasions. read more

The charred broccoli was good, but not $17 good. I enjoyed the Jolie fumée cocktail and the cheesecake for dessert. Our server was beyond generous, there were some issues with some of our dishes and when I say he took care of us, he did! I returned for Sunday brunch and although a much smaller crowd, my experience was great. We ordered a Bellini carafe which was not only tasty, but a good value for a few people. I also did the prix fixe which was a great value. I got a pistachio croissant, saffron brined deviled eggs and French toast. I loved everything until I got to the French toast. I went to Chapter 6 with a group on a Tuesday night for a birthday dinner. The location is great - in the same building as Sycamore, and the ambience and decor is very pleasing to the eye. We had a pleasant experience with the waitstaff who were very kind and helpful when we had questions on the menu. I will start off by saying Mediterranean food is not my first choice of cuisine, but I really don't feel the food hit the spot for me. I think that the portion sizes did not justify the cost per plate. I understand this is a tapas restaurant, but I don't even think 2 small plates (around $20 + per plate) would fulfill most appetites. We ordered the melty nduja, gnocchi & lamb, and the sherry braised pork cheek. None of these items blew me away. I also thought the gnocchi was way too soft, but that could be personal preference. I split these three dishes with my husband and we probably could have ordered three more, but didn't feel compelled to. Joined two friends for a girls night dinner as this was all of our first time trying out Chapter 6. Chapter 6 is located in the same building as the freshly renovated Sycamore brewery and shares a parking garage. PRO TIP: The host stand will validate your parking ticket. We all decided to get various spritzes: I got a lambrusco spritz. They do come out with silly twisty straws which was surprising to me, given the ambiance of the restaurant. And we all got the amuse bouche to start which was absolutely delicious! I recommend you start your meal with an incredible $2 croquette. My two friends got The Treatment which was a 5-6 plate tasting menu of plates brought out at the chef's whim. I went with the hanger steak and roasted carrots. I will say that my steak was slightly more rare than the medium I requested but it was still good. I just wish there was a lot more of the olive verde that was served on top. Came here for a birthday celebration and had a really great time. We did the tasting experience and I highly recommend that because you get a little taste of everything and it's a ton of food. We ordered two bottles of wine, both excellent! Favorites of the table were the skate (stingray), lamb gnocchi and the chicken skewers. After looking up the best restaurants in the area this kept coming up and the photos looked very appetizing. I looked up the menu online and read several items that was making be excited. I came here on a Sunday which was the only day I was in town for and found out they were serving brunch. When I started looking through the menu it was only brunch items and nothing from their normal menu. I was so looking forward to the octopus and all their seafood options and all the other tasty looking items that drew me in. But none of them were on the brunch menu. That was very disappointing, a lot of restaurants still offer both menus regular + brunch but this was only brunch. I ended up ordering the Prix - fixe menu. Croissant, Mussels and the Wagyu burger. Everything was excellent but the star was that burger. Very juicy and lots of good flavors. Enough fancy items in a burger but not enough that it doesn't take away. Very solid burger. Mussels were very tasty with a small bite in the broth. Not too spicy though if you're scared of a little heat. Adventurous eaters, rejoice! If you love trying new things, Chapter 6 is the place for you! This place truly blew us away tonight - the vibe, the service, the FOOD... all were above and beyond! Our server, Amy, couldn't have been better - she was friendly, helpful and fun to talk to. We started with a few cocktails (which were good - not overly special, but solid), then we quickly realized we had to go for the treatment ($70 per person to have a custom, shareable menu designed for you). I can assure you that this is the way to go if you are very hungry and you want a memorable meal experience - there are some things she chose for us that we may not have picked but we were SO glad we got, and I am truly stuffed after all that food! We said what we like and pointed out a few things we definitely wanted to try, and we got TEN outstanding dishes throughout the night... - Whipped ricotta with pesto and grilled bread - Spicy tuna tartare (my husband's fav) - Lamb skewer (my fav) - Baby octopus skewer - Chicken thigh skewer - Charred broccoli - Lamb gnocchi - Pork cheek with house chips - Skate wing (our other favorite) - Peach & blueberry galette with a warm white chocolate drizzle, cherry gelato and baklava crumble (okay - this may have actually been my favorite ) Almost every single one was something we said, "I've never had something like this before," (especially the whipped ricotta, which reminded me of a savory whipped cream; the skate wing, which is apparently in the stingray family and was SO flavorful). There was clearly so much care and love put into each dish, and the format of the treatment was really fun and exciting (we had no idea what was coming when, and we truly felt like we were being treated to a special experience). We were here a bit early on a Sunday for a special date night. We were the only ones in the restaurant at 630pm and I was pretty concerned that was a bad sign. Well I couldn't have been more wrong! The lamb gnocchi was among my favorites. Our service was flawless and we were amused when we asked for our waitress's recommendations and she rattled off about 10 dishes... in retrospect it makes perfect sense. Everything was delicious. The tuna crudo was just a few bites, but wow so much flavor on one bite. The contrast of the citrus with the Tuna and the salty sauce was exquisite. It never was terribly busy. Chapter 6 recently started Sunday brunch service, and you NEED to get yourself over here and experience this! It's great for a group of friends or a date - laid-back vibes with good music, fun drinks, and unique food. You can (and should) get a drink tower with 2 or 4 drinks - pick from an option of spritzes and sangrias. The presentation makes for great pics! And the drinks are delish. We really enjoyed both the red sangria - which was fruitier than other sangrias I've had - and the strawberry montenegro spritz. 2 drinks for $18 was very reasonable! To eat, I went with the prix-fixe option ($35), which includes a pastry, and your choice of any mezze and main from the menu. My mom ordered one mezze for herself, and this was plenty of food for the 2 of us - we took home leftovers! The pastry was a chocolate babka, which came warm and LOADED with chocolate - it was so indulgent and delish. For my mezze, I ordered the whipped ricotta, which came with charred bread - the perfect accompaniment. I really enjoyed this dish, especially the bites with the mint-pitachio pistou and evoo. My mom's mezze was the mussels, which was a very good portion, and the bread was also great to dip in this flavorful sauce. The mussels were spicier than we expected, so just be warned if you're sensitive to that. For my brunch main, I ordered the fried chicken & za'atar croissant since I'd never seen that on a menu. The thin piece of chicken was moist and breaded perfectly, and the croissant was flaky and savory. It came with a sauce and pepper accompaniment, so you could play around with flavors and combinations. I loved this and absolutely recommend if you're curious to try something unique. As always, you can park in the The Line garage, which is in the same building, and the host stand will validate. This is my new fave brunch spot in Charlotte, so you know I'll be back! read more

After reading Yelp Elite legend Meena P.'s glowing review for Chapter 6, I decided to pay it a visit for my birthday! With parking in Charlotte often presenting a challenge, I was relieved to find that the restaurant was connected to a parking deck! It was easy enough to find on the first floor after the security guard pointed me in the right direction. We had made a reservation for 4 people ahead of time and requested to be seated in the bar area based on Meena's recommendation. She was right, it definitely had a more lively atmosphere than the adjacent room where there was more seating. Our server Jennifer did a fantastic job of taking care of us. While we waited for our friends to arrive, she served us a couple of cocktails. For a celebratory vibe, I ordered La Vie en Rose while my boyfriend got the Amalfi Coastin'. I enjoyed the citrusy bubliness of my cocktail and that both of our drinks were almost the same color. I kept stealing licks of my boyfriend's tajin rim because I love how it spices up a drink. For our first dish, we decided to order the Verde chickpeas mezze. Even though it should have been obvious from the name, I didn't know chickpeas came in green. I loved the texture of the chickpeas and the flavor. Next, we shared a few small plates: the salt cod croquette, sherry braised pork cheek, and spicy tuna crudo. Be warned, the croquettes come out very hot on the inside. After we let them cool down, they tasted like a decadent fish stick. The texture inside the croquette was like mashed potatoes, it was so smooth. The pork cheek dish was solid, but nothing about it really jumped out at me. I was most excited about the spicy tuna crudo. The mouthfeel was a little weird when comparing the texture of the soft, smooth tuna mixed with chopped nuts. I likened it to almost like shrapnel in comparison. However, the subtle heat and flavor that lingered in my mouth  was nice. We also shared three small plates. After learning that the NC Market fish was scallops, it was easy to decide to order it. There was an interesting textural crunchy component, although I was sad we only got 2 scallops for the 4 of us. The Gnocchi & lamb had the perfect soft texture to the gnocchi. The sauce was delicious, and it was such a familiar, comforting dish. Our last small plate was the Rigatoni. The homemade pasta had the perfect chew, and the sofritas sauce had a decent kick to it. Jennifer decreed that for a birthday. there had to be dessert! She decided that we should order Mom's cheesecake, and she was right! It was so simple, light, and fluffy. It was just a plain cheesecake with cinnamon on top, but it was so good. Directly on the rail trail, Chapter6 is seen by many passerby's. It has an indoor and outdoor seating area that will draw in those in search of a tasty meal. Chapter6 is more on the pricey side, with a cost of about $50 per person to be full. The food, however, is worth it! Even the $2 Chef's Whim is highly recommended! If you are looking for a place to share some well created small plates and meals, then Chapter6 is just the place. I recommend it to everyone! read more

Time with my girls to fill my cup is great but when we pick a win on a restaurant it is THE best. I think we may have overwhelmed the waiter with our excitement in ordering. We tried every recommendation made. Skewers tender and flavored. Veggies fresh and pair with great sauces/spread for flavor. The drinks, Yaas keep them coming. The bread was so good I had to move it to the other side of the table. He was awesome in keeping up and handling any challenges. Now when they say small plate the mean it. These were the smallest of the small plates but we was ready to order a second round. But once the octopus and veggies arrive we forgot about that. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. Other than a flies it was great to hear the music from Sycamore and absorb the beauty of this restaurant. read more

Rare Roots Hospitality does it again! We are big fans of Fin and Fino, so we were very excited to try this new Western Mediterranean addition to the family. Similar to their sister restaurant, Chapter 6 offers The Treatment, which is basically a tasting menu for $70/person. This truly is the best way to sample a variety of dishes for a great value. For two people, we received two starters, two small plates, two entrees, and one dessert. Our waiter did a great job picking our dishes and pacing them. THE BIG: Beautiful dining spot in South End right on the light rail tracks. Parking is a bit tough but there is street parking and garage parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here with a friend and the wife on a packed Friday night. The space is gorgeous and the matches up front were nice (they were the thick stick kind). We got a couple of drinks to start off with. My wife and I shared the house red wine carafe. Ordering, we split "The Treatment" between the 2 of us. The treatment is $70 and the waiter curates the dishes for you. The garlic spread, broccoli, and hangar steaks were my favorite. We additionally ended the night with their home made limoncellos as a digestif. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall damage done for 2 treatments, 2 cocktails, 3 limoncellos and a carafe of wine was ~$180 for 3 people. Would recommend trying when you're in the queen city. read more

Chapter 6 is an open, airy new eatery (in the same space as Sycamore Brewing) near the Rail Trail. It has a lovely simple, clean aesthetic but because it's in a lively environment connected to a brewery, other venues, a lobby and parking deck, you may have to raise your voice to hear each other. Plus it's a bit echoey due to the high ceiling and lack of enclosure. Cute spot though. Ok, ok the food & drink....cause that's what you came here for :-) The menu is a reflection of 6 different Western Mediterranean regions (hence the name Chapter 6 per the explanation I received): Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, France and Italy. I started with a dynamite French red blend called Ch. Les Gravieres de la Brandille - smooth with hint of spice but no overwhelming tannins. I was intrigued by the La vie en rose with strawberry rose cello, Cochise americano, cappelletti, citrus, bubbles. But, alas, next time. My favorite bite of the night was the Salt Cod Croquettes. Crunchy and golden brown outside. Creamy and perfectly seasoned filling. Amazing. The sweet raisin mostarda balanced out the savoriness while the zesty radish was a great accompaniment. *chef's kiss* Roasting vegetables is the ultimate way to enjoy most of them IMO. The roasted broccoli here looks like a whole tree on your plate, and I love that because it made for a more uniform char versus getting smaller pieces where they can tend to get too bitter. The pine nut romesco, lemon and Aleppo pepper with it was terrific. I kept eating this dish long after it had gone cold! I also very much enjoyed the Gnocchi and lamb. The meat was so tender and buttery. IYKYK that gnocchi can be a tricky preparation so as to not overdevelop the gluten, but they got it right. Nice toothy texture but still pillowy. As my entree, I ordered the Chicken Tagine. Somehow I neglected to snap a picture of it. SHAME! Anyway, great dish. If you're expecting a little more heat (as I was) just heap on a bunch of the flavorful sauce on your fork with each bite. The couscous that comes with it provides a great vehicle for soaking up said sauce with the chicken (so juicy BTW) and rounding out the dish. Dessert: If you're familiar with Dressler's then you may have seen on their dessert menu the Mom's Cheesecake. Well, it's at Chapter 6 also as this place falls under the Rare Roots Hospitality Group umbrella. Delicious. Simple, tangy, sweet. Love a graham cracker crust. I could use more of it myself. The chocolate mousse in the Pot de Crème was a bit too chilled upon arrival and had a slightly grainy texture that I didn't appreciate. The almond cookies were fine. Meaty and delicately sweet with a great chew. Now, almond is one of my all-time favorite flavors, so I don't mind being hit in the face with it in terms of desserts....which these cookies didn't do. But they were fine. Personal preference. ‍ The mural on the far wall is a gorgeous discussion piece. It represents the 6 countries mentioned above that are reflected in the menu. The tiles are the shape of each representative country. It composed of a bunch of small tiles which specifically hail from each particular country they represent by color. Apparently took the artist 10 months to create. Love. BONUS: Our server Rebecca is a rock star. Attentive and kind. Patient and personable. Great suggestions. Plus, she explained the story behind the mural. NOTICE: Chapter 6 is actually split into several areas: the dining room, a separate bar and lounge area, and a patio along the Rail Trail which is cool option when it's warm out. Chapter 6 is a very cute Mediterranean spot in South End. Highly recommend making a reservation for your next date night. I came with three other friend. Two friends and I decided to splice two "The Treatment" and it was fantastic. The waiter picks a bunch of dishes for you. All you have to do is order a drink and sit back. I shared a carafe of the house red and it paired well with everything. My favorites were the garlic, broccoli, eggplant, etc steak, and panacotta. We ended the night with their version of a lemoncello. It was very sweet in my opinion. I thought the table was way to small to fit everything we ordered. We ended up finding ways to stack plates and quickly eat our food. Overall the food was pretty good and we all left very satisfied. read more

Had a bunch of great stuff on my visit here. Came due to a Timeleft dinner (IYKYK), and the food was excellent. Don't remember everything, but I do recall my table sharing the following: the roasted carrots and broccoli, lamb and chicken skewers, the short rib, and the octopus.
