We had to come all the way to North Carolina for elote fritters.
    Kristina B.

We arrived at lunchtime without a reservation and were immediately seated. We sat outside in the perfect weather. The city views are beautiful. The service was extremely slow. This would probably not be problematic except we were on a schedule and had to get my man back to his conference. We ordered the charred corn fritters, tandori spiced cauliflower, the Mediterranean avocado bowl, and the Peruvian chicken bowl. It was probably 15 minutes before the server came back to tell us that they were out of chicken bowls. We then ordered the Moroccan pie. The fritters came out first. Incredible. There were crunchy and chewy and full of flavor. They sure set the bar high with this one! Unfortunately the rest of the meal was inconsistent. The cauliflower was cooked well and had a nice spice, but was lacking maybe salt. It was still good. The avocado bowl- avocado was fresh; the olive brine was interesting, but offered the seasoning that was needed; the quinoa, tomatoes, and onions had no seasoning or flavor at all; the feta and tzatziki were good. Individually, nothing was particularly great, but eaten together it was tasty. The Moroccan pie was also good, but heavily sweetened maybe with honey and dusted with powdered sugar. This wasn't in the description. The chicken was well seasoned and tasty, but overall pretty sweet. When it came time for the check, again, service was slow. We managed somehow to get done with a few minutes to spare. The inconsistency makes it difficult to want to come back. But those fritters get all the stars.

I came here today with a friend after checking out the Mint Museum. We arrived around 230pm and got seated at a large booth in the back. The design/decor is elevated and sophisticated with dark/stark lines. Our waitress could've been a little friendlier but warmed up towards the end. I just had a latte but it was served in fancy mug on a saucer and my friend got the chicken bowl and really enjoyed it. They had some Live music going on which was a pleasant bonus- mic was a little loud though, just an fyi! Parking in the garage is validated and street spots are free on Sundays @azfitfoodfun

The restaurant was beautiful. Our waitress was friendly. There was a jazz band. I enjoyed their drink special...$1 Bloody Mary's. They weren't spicy, but not bad. My lamb burger and fries were tasty. My friend enjoyed her Peruvian chicken bowl. We shared French toast. It was really good. It has apple compote and a vanilla butter. Yum! We went on a Sunday afternoon and had reservations. Keep in mind if there is a Panther game. Parking was a nightmare. Lovely place with great service. Great place for brunch and adventurous taste buds.

The food was divine...it is a great date night venue. The chef came out and greeted us to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Carlos was a great waiter.... If I lived in town would totally return. So much attention to detail even the cutlery has a "mariposa".

What a fabulous mid week treat for the eyes and pallet. This place is absolutely gorgeous. If I were a spy from a bond movie this would totally be where I ordered my fancy cocktail after sliding into one of the many plush bar stools as I await to rendezvous with my nemesis. The cocktails are a work of art. It would be ashamed to call the artist behind the bar a bartender. This is an expert mixologist at work ppl. My Fuego drink was mezcal mixed with watermelon and a slight smokiness that was so well blended I could have licked the glass. My friend had a beautiful lavender drink that came with instructions to take the first sip with the lavender included so the taste and smell are taken in together...whoa! Dining is tapas style with small and large plates. We did all small plateswe could try lots of stuff. Here's the spread; Mushroom toast (amazing) Pork Belly lettuce wraps Squash casserole Short ribs Corn fritters (my fav) Raspberry mousse dessert Everything was delicious and came out in the perfect waves. Service is exceptional! Our waitress was a burst of energy and gave great recco's. She gave us the perfect amount of attention and even helped us stage a photo shoot. Thanks for a great evening!!! #SuburbanMom

This experience overall was great, on the more expensive side. We did restaurant week here, note you can only pick from that menu that week. The service was great and the server was super kind and attentive. It is beautiful inside.

I celebrated my birthday here and they did not disappoint! The live jazz band was the cherry on top. I got the lab burger and let me tell you it was soooo good! This will be my new spot for Sunday brunch!

Nathan and Alizar provided outstanding service. They were both attentive, courteous, professional and welcoming!we were checked in quickly since we had a reservation. The restaurant is on the Second floor above the museum. You can take the elevator or stairs. We went for brunch so the restaurant was bright and spacious! There is plenty and a variety of seating from the bar stools to couches. Love the huge windows! I ordered the feta salad with shrimp. It was good but wished it had some salad like baby greens or arugula. It had soooo many tomatoes that I thought it was a tomato salad. The shrimp on the tomatoes were delicious! We also shared the French toast, that was delicious! The potatoes/ homefries were spicy and flavorful. Also had the corn fritters, they were a bit bland. The five dollar mimosas were perfect to make it an official brunch. They were refreshing and brought extra joy to our celebration! I would return and try other items on menu! Once again great service provided by Nathan and Alizar!

From the moment I walked in, I knew this was going to be a great brunch experience. I came here for a double-date Sunday Jazz Brunch, and everything from the drinks to the atmosphere made the visit feel special. Starting with the drinks, you really can't beat $5 mimosas and $1 Bloody Mary's. Naturally, I tried both and they were excellent choices. I also ordered a pumpkin martini and it was absolutely amazing! Smooth, seasonal, and honestly one of the highlights... plus the bartender hand delivered it ("with love", his words not mine...). Every dish we ordered was delicious and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve because everything tasted thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor! The staff were genuinely kind and joyful, which made me feel welcomed and appreciated the entire time. The live jazz music created such a warm vibe and paired perfectly with the beautiful aesthetic of the space. It's the kind of brunch that makes you feel a little fancy in the best way. Overall, this place delivered on food, drinks, service, and ambiance. I can't wait to come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a standout Saturday or Sunday brunch (the Jazz brunch is both days).

This restaurant is beautiful and very clean. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well. We went for a business lunch and we were seated right away. Our service was excellent. Our table ordered a variety of things, everything was good! I got the lamb burger with a side salad, others got the chicken bowl and the salad with shrimp on it. My favorite part was the chocolate cake and delicious cappuccino.

Had dinner at Mariposa a couple weeks and had several Tapas dishes and all were very good with the steak nigiri and ahi tacos being top of my list. Service was very good delivery of food and drinks went very smoothly. The ambience is nice open kitchen area and nice open comfortable seating. I can see where it might get a little in the loud side but was not too bad the night we were there. Parking can be a challenge but there garage parking near by.

WORST SERVICE EVER! We were seated right at the entrance. It did take a couple minutes longer to get greeted by our server but we actually didn't bother much because we took some time settling out kids. However, we ordered our drinks and appetizers literally within minutes. It took considerably longer to get the maze platter (mind you nothing needed to be cooked in that - so wait that long should have been our first red flag). Almost after 30-min of getting mezze platter we reminded server for our second appetizer and it was clear she forgot. She had zero courtesy to even accept that! Disgraceful!! Finally we get our second appetizer and guess what??! Our server never returns. We waited and waited to be able to order entrees. We gave up after an hour plus long of wait. And I had to literally go to her while she was entering someone else order at the monitor to ask for our check. It took another 5-long minutes to get the check... and another many minutes to actually take that card to pay. Awful! My husband and I work uptown and wanted to check this place out for a potential dinner/entertainment place for our clients - but they have lost 2-customers forever. (I wish my pictures showed the timestamp to show how long it took to get each dish since getting drinks)

    Grecian potatoes

We had a great belated birthday dinner at Mariposa before seeing a concert at The Knight Theater across the street! The staff are warm and friendly, and the space is beautiful - tucked right inside the Mint Museum uptown with plush chairs and luxurious design touches. We decided to share the Asado Experience with a side of the Grecian Potatoes - both were excellent (only constructive comment was that the potatoes could have used a bit more salt, and maybe serving the tzatziki on the side would have helped them be a bit less soggy). I especially enjoyed the Malbec reduction on the Waygu beef (which was cooked to a near perfect medium rare and came with delicious roasted vegetables). Our server also brought us a slice of chocolate tres leches cake with a candle, which was absolutely divine - somehow rich and light at the same time. Would definitely love to go back to try the lamb tangine, the duck arepas, the seafood paella and the corn fritters - all sounded amazing!

Are there heaters on the outdoor patio in the winter?

I don't think there's outdoor seating at the restaurant.

    Can they accommodate large party's?

How large? There was a group of 8 women sitting at the table next to us. I don't know if there's enough room to accommodate a group larger than that.

If you are looking for recommendations, I highly suggest trying: The Meatballs: A fantastic twist on a classic, served in a delicious lemon dill sauce instead of a typical marinara. The Sliders: Perfect pulled pork paired with fried green tomatoes and a tangy horseradish sauce. They also feature a highly creative and unique cocktail menu. Two of my personal standouts are the Beetle Juice, which incorporates fresh beet juice, and The Fishbone, which brilliantly highlights their house-made aquavit. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for a great atmosphere and an inventive menu!

My sister got an espresso martini, I got a pain killer, and my other sister being the DD got a mocktail that came in a Cute pouch. The bartender was sooo nice and the drinks were amazing. She said to mention it being my sisters birthday to the server. Once we sat our server explained the ordering process to us and gave us some time to decide. We got a mix of different things including the lo mein, Korean fried chicken, and dumplings. We also ordered the pho two drink as it seemed like a fun experience. The server didn't ID us so I mentioned it was my sisters 21st birthday and she should check her ID, she seemed annoyed . The food came out in waves and was all very good, they're small portions but meant for sharing. We got 4 things and couldn't finish everything. The pho two was the star of the show. It came out in a large bowl with a fish sauce simple, herbs, jalapeños, and little cups. We even got a third cup so the DD could taste it. We tried it without the savory stuff first and it was pretty good. But once we added herbs and the fish sauce (which smelt super fishy) it actually tasted better! It brought out flavor and sweetness. The manager popped by to check in and take some plates and we loved chatting about the lovely drink experience. It was a great time but the server did dampen the experience a bit with her odd response to it being my sisters birthday.

My rating is based mainly on the food, not the service or atmosphere. The space itself is small but has a nice, laid-back vibe. I could definitely see it being a good place to meet friends for drinks or enjoy the nightlife. For brunch, my friend ordered the shrimp and grits. She said the flavor was good, but the grits were much runnier than she expected. I ordered the waffles with eggs and bacon. The presentation looked great when it came out, but unfortunately, the waffle was cold, so I had to send it back. By the time it was brought back out, the wait had taken away my appetite. I only ate a couple of bites before I was ready to leave. The bacon was okay, but overall, the meal just didn't impress me. Our server was very kind, attentive, and apologetic about the delay, and I really appreciated her professionalism throughout the experience. Would I go back? For brunch, probably not. For drinks and the atmosphere, maybe. Everyone's taste is different, so I wouldn't tell anyone not to try it. Your experience may be completely different from mine. It just wasn't the food experience I was hoping for. If you decide to visit, I'd recommend checking it out for yourself and forming your own opinion.

Seaboy absolutely delivered. From the outside, the building is understated and looks more like it belongs near the beach at Oak Island. Once you step inside, however, it is clean, classy, well-appointed, and charmingly coastal without being overly themed or tacky. It feels like the premium restaurant it is. We didn't make reservations because we arrived at 4:30 on a Friday and never expected the place to be completely slammed that early. Jackie, the hostess, took our name and phone number and promised to call as soon as something opened at the bar. Since there wasn't much room to wait inside, she encouraged us to relax in our car. Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, she called and made sure we got the first two available seats. Samantha, the bartender, was both an excellent server and a talented mixologist. She was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, somehow keeping up with all the drinks for the dining room without allowing anyone at the bar to feel ignored. I told her I wasn't much of a drinker but gave her the name of a liquor I enjoy. She created her own cocktail for me, and it was a solid 10 out of 10. Could I walk in and order that exact drink again? Probably not. Would I trust her to surprise me again in a heartbeat? Absolutely. My wife started with a shrimp appetizer that she said may have been the best shrimp she has ever eaten. I had the Caesar salad, which was the only part of the meal that was merely okay. It was beautifully presented, generously portioned, properly dressed, and topped with excellent cheese. Unfortunately, the dressing lacked the bold, savory punch I expect from a great Caesar. Our entrées, however, were phenomenal. I ordered the swordfish, and it was so good that my wife essentially took it over because she liked it even more than the seafood pasta special she had ordered. Fortunately, her rich, cheesy seafood creation was outstanding, so I was perfectly happy with the trade. I polished off her meal, then finished whatever swordfish she left behind! We ended with the deconstructed Key lime pie. It was flavorful and enjoyable, although, like the Caesar, I felt it could have used just a little more refinement. At one point, the chef and owner came out to the bar, shook our hands, introduced himself, and thanked us for coming. He stayed for a little friendly conversation, which was a genuinely nice and personal touch. Those minor critiques aside, the service, food quality, atmosphere, and hospitality were all excellent. Seaboy has immediately become one of our favorite choices for a premium meal, and the overall experience was absolutely five out of five. We will definitely be back soon. To those about to nosh, we salute you!
