Uptown lunch at Cashew Kid is a must, especially if you hit that 11 AM-3 PM sweet spot for the best specials. Bravo Emily for giving us five-star service; her attention to detail and knowledge of the menu were top-notch. The chicken avocado sandwich paired with the five-cheese cast-iron mac was excellent. Beet lovers will be delighted by the Woodfire Grill beets with whipped feta and mandarin orange. Pro-Tip: Speak with Sasha for more insight on large group events. this place is perfect! Today my aunt and I visited Kid Cashews. She is a charlotte local and has heard of this place and recommended it to me! I was sold after seeing the celiac friendly/safe many items and their health and vegan options! Jeremy was our server for the night who was great. Very helpful when asking about accommodations to the menu or changes to our order. We ordered many shareable plates for the table, there was a special of $7 starters! Our favorites were the chicken skewers, the grilled beets, and the shrimp and polenta! We even got food to go! Can't wait to come back!!!
I said it six years ago, and I'll say it again -- just go to Kid Cashew. In all the years since my first visit, I've had nothing but good food and good experiences. The food is consistently good and has so many good-for-you options that you can't go wrong, whether you're ordering a wood-fired portobello gyro or the deliciously juicy Big Mac daddy. (Ok, that last one's not good for your health, but it *is* good for your tastebuds.) All hail the wood-fire grill! The patio outside is still a great spot, even in the winter when it's covered. And there is plenty of group seating inside, too. I've used their catering services for work events and have enjoyed introducing so many of my team members to what is *still* one of my favorite spots in Charlotte.
Overall service was good and location was so popular! I think the burger patties were a little cooked more than my preference so it was a little drier, but the chicken skewers were good. Overall the place seemed like a bustling location with a ton of different food options. They had a great amount of vegan options so great options for various intolerances! The chips were seasoned well and portions were definitely sufficient.
Brunch on a Sunday! Yum! Kids eat free... 3 options but good portions. Mimosas crafes were only $12. Wow! Food was great. Chicken salad was real pulled chicken and great avocado. Kids French toast was stuffed with strawberry so good! Quinoa stuff avocado was so fresh! Octopus was fantastic!!!! Service was good not great but fine. Got busy so we understood the wait. This dining experience was a family event and I must say- it was perfect. I love how eclectic the place is and the staff was friendly (albeit a bit sparse.) The food was affordable and absolutely delicious! I had the lamb burger and we split the Mac n cheese, avocado and one of the popular dips. Everything was so good and I haven't stopped thinking about it. Will def be returning next time I'm in the area.
Sat at the bar for a quick meal here. It was lively, but not too loud. I ordered the octopus, meatballs, and rotisserie chicken. The octopus was flavorful, but a tad bit chewy for my liking. It was not enough to take away from the dish. The meatballs were phenomenal. They were tender, juicy, and the sauce they came in was INSANE. Lastly, the rotisserie chicken was well-seasoned and very moist. My only complaint would be that it's a bit hard to pull apart, but that is to be expected. The service was friendly and attentive, especially for sitting at the bar. I love that they were shirts with "goats" like Ali and Bourdain. Additionally, the prices are extremely reasonable. Definitely want to try more of the menu. Overall 4.4/5
It's been a few years since we have been here so we decided to give it another shot. We went for brunch after @frontporchsundays. Between the two of us we had a Bloody Mary, a burger (not the Mac daddy, the one with bacon) and the egg stack . The good: the Bloody Mary had a bit more of a kick to it than my husband would like but he still enjoyed it and was the best thing we ordered. The not so good: The texture on the egg stack was strange and not pleasant at all. I left 2/3 of the little square on my plate untouched and the server didn't even comment or ask about it. The bacon was undercooked and limp but I cut off the fat and ate the bacon and avocado. I would NOT recommend the egg soufflé/stack. Lacking in flavor and the texture was not remotely egg-like. The burger had good flavor but the bun completely fell apart in my husband's hands after the FIRST BITE. He ate it with a fork and left the bun and the chips behind because the chips had a spicy seasoning on them and between that and his drink, it was too much spice. Again, the server takes his plate away with most of the food on the plate still and doesn't say a word. The first visit wasn't especially memorable and this second visit wasn't any better. I wish the business well but it's not the place for us.

Our server told us about a great deal where the tapas are all discounted until 6pm Monday through Friday. We got a bottle of wine for the table and tried a bunch of food to share for the table. I think one of my favorites was the chicken skewers! The chicken literally melted off the skewers and tasted so good with the cilantro lime. The Mac and cheese was to die for too. Can't forget the octopus! It paired well with the couscous and seasoning. If I was around here again in Charlotte, I would definitely come back here and do their tapas again! It was filling, hit the spot, and yummy!
One Star for my server! She was so sweet. I guess when you see a lot of people sitting outside on the patio, that means the weather is really nice but that doesn't mean that the food is any good probably the worst hamburger I've had in Charlotte. No flavor bland ...says asked for medium but is undercooked the mac & cheese is supposed to be a five cheese mac & cheese, but it has onions and leaks!!!??? No No No ...in it some kind of peppers or something also bland no taste but hey, it's only $11.95 lol... won't be back.
I ordered takeout to the office and, unfortunately, the food wasn't very appealing. I ordered the Impossible Gyro, but it appeared to have some type of chicken in it, which was confusing and disappointing since I specifically chose a plant-based option. The meatballs, however, were good and definitely the highlight of the order. My food was ready in a timely manner, which I appreciated. Overall, the quality didn't quite meet my expectations this time. I may give the restaurant another try by dining in, but based on this experience, the food was just okay.

I've been in Charlotte for over a year, and nothing beats the food and service at Kid Cashew. The highlight of the restaurant is Daniela. I first met her as a waitress, and now she's a manager. Every time I visit, she greets me with genuine excitement, and you can tell how much she loves what she does. She's incredibly attentive to the little details, makes sure customers are taken care of if they're ever dissatisfied with a plate, and always has a smile on her face. The rest of the staff is just as friendly. Hanson served me during my last visit when I brought a friend who was visiting Charlotte for the first time, and he made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. He kept up great conversation and even had wonderful things to say about Daniela, which says a lot about the team and environment she's helped create. 11/10 every time. The food and drinks are amazing, the prices are just right, and I've never left disappointed. Everything is consistently delicious, and coming here is always a pleasure. Kid Cashew has easily become one of my favorite spots in Charlotte! read more

I met a friend to catch up while I was in town, and this place was perfect for it! I depend on my friend to get me to the good spots, and she didn't disappoint with this choice. This bustling place has its own style that matches their unique name. I didn't drive, but there was parking outside the restaurant. After a failed attempt to eat at another restaurant on Thursday night, we decided on Kid Cashew on a whim and it turned out to be a most excellent decision! We ordered a whole mess of things, the vegan items being the Quinoa Stuffed Avocado, Impossible 'Burger' Gyro, and Hummus. My friends ordered a few non-vegan selections as well, and we of course sampled some of the cocktails. We were all VERY pleased with our selections. I suppose we didn't go into this with any particular expectations but we very happily devoured everything. And we remarked that Kid Cashew seemed so reasonably priced, compared to what we would expect to be charged for some of the items! I think Kid Cashew was probably the best value restaurant during our extended weekend in North Carolina, and it may have been my favorite meal! Upon entering the establishment we were quickly greeted and seated. Our server wasn't too far behind to take our drink order and took an order for a small plate for us to share. Our small plate arrived a shortly after about 5 minutes. We received the cast iron Mac and cheese and it was delicious and couldn't recommend enough. We decided to order the Big Cheese Burger and the All Natural wood fired chicken avocado. Our waiter at that point had been a little infrequent but had managed to keep our waters from going empty. When our meals arrived is where things took a turn. We hardly seen our waiter anymore, which was a bummer. My chicken sandwich ended up being shredded chicken which no where on the menu mentioned that, but I could've asked that prior to ordering I'll admit. Wood fired just led me to assume it would have been a patty. That being said of our meals were very bland. So I was looking for something to add at least to try to salvage it. Mine being shredded chicken it didn't really change how bland it was with trying to add salt and pepper or the chipotle sauce I was offered. I was offered two other things but those it's typically are on the bland side of things too so I didn't attempt. The burger was on a similar issue, no seasoning and just relied on the wood fire. The bacon on it was also unevenly cooked. The only thing not bland in our meals were the chips which were an unbalanced amount of cayenne pepper. Overall I liked the atmosphere and the starter. While it wouldn't be somewhere I'd highly recommend based on what I ordered, I'd definitely go back and try different items. Looking around us plenty of people seem to enjoy what they had ordered. So I'm assuming we just ordered something not as good, or had an off day for the cook. read more

Kid Cashew already gets a lot of love from locals but as an out of towner, I'll add to it! Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was packed! Good for them. We had a little wait but it was no big deal. The patio is lovely and this is a pretty spacious restaurant so things move fast. We ordered the beets which I really liked. I got the chicken (with a side of beans that never came :( ) and my dinner date for the pork. We looked our food! The chicken was cooked perfectly. The vibes are cute and farmhousey but it's cozy and people are perfectly nice. One thing that's weird is that for a place that accommodates a lot of different diets they didn't have any GF desserts. The value for the portion sizes and quality is here is really what pushed to 5 over 4 stars. They also had some great sauces that came with my chicken I would recommend, especially for a group like a family or birthday dinner. read more

Recommended by a local, we decided to try this restaurant after attending an event at the Parr Center nearby. Casual atmosphere, great sharables menu with a variety of both vegan, vegetarian and meat options. We thought they were good portions for two to share. Unfortunately, we didnt take any pic of the dishes except for dessert! Which, is not on the menu, ask your server about! We chose to sit on the outdoor porch because we had our dog with us. Wven with outside temps at 80 (in April) it was comfortably cool! read more
Loved my first time at Kid Cashew! Delicious! Our server was super nice. We sat outside on the patio it was a beautiful day out. Love that they have a whole vegan menu and most of the dishes are vegan versions of the non-vegan menu! Brussels were amazing! I typically only go for Asian style Brussels, but these are my new fav for non Asian style! Beans and sausage were my favorite! The sauce with beans were a creamy almost cheesy consistently, it was delicious. There is a parking lot! read more
Decided to eat here before the GRAHAM NASH SHOW at The Knight Theater. I was amazed at how quickly the foods came out. With 5 minutes of ordering. Not pictured are my Caesar Salad with Grilled Hearts of Palm and Salmon. I also had the Grilled Octopus. Everything was right on point! The SERVICE and all of the FOODS were amazing. I'd give this place a solid 4 because the food is good and they have a great selection of options, including halal chicken and vegan options. I ordered the Lamb cheese burger and although it was tasty, it was a bit too greasy for me. As soon as you bite into it juice oozes all over your plate and when you sit it down it runs all into the chips, making them soggy. My bread was pretty soggy too. The rest of my tabled ordered the shrimp and grits and all loved it. I'd come again and just try something different. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant had a rustic vibe and an outdoor patio that I can't wait to check out in the spring or summer. I had no trouble finding a parking spot in the lot, and the prices were pretty fair. The Lamb burger was a double burger with chips and cost around $14. Overall I think this place is worth checking out. read more

The setting is cute, old timey, has outdoor seating also, menu has asterisk beside the gf options, but extremely loud with no sound buffers, lighting is harsh with uncovered bulbs, the front main entrance doesn't have any handicap access and it has a giant step up that's part of the cement and no hand rails, and the ramp at the end of the building isn't at a marked door so it looks like it's for deliveries. Food was beautiful on the plate but tasted absolutely horrible! The only thing on my plate that tasted good was the raw carrots, raw celery, and water if that tells you anything! I ordered gf 1/2 chicken and avocado sandwiche with a side of beets. The beets were burnt and the sandwich tasted so bad I gagged on it and only took two bites. The small amount of goat cheese that came on the beets was good. The waitress wasn't attentive to our table either. We did explain our food tasted horrible and she replaced it with a cilantro chipotle chicken skewer and the smell was so bad from it I couldn't eat it. Our daughters gluten food was bad as well. We will not go back to this place at all! read more
After becoming stranded in Charlotte due to the winter storm, we embarked on a culinary adventure and discovered Kid Cashew, a Mediterranean restaurant. The establishment's namesake originates from the owner's childhood pet goat. We were impressed by the menu's diverse offerings. I opted for the quinoa-stuffed avocado and shrimp with polenta as starters, both of which were delectable, and concluded with the lamb burger as my main course, which was exceptional. My partner began with the spicy feta starter and subsequently ordered the quinoa-stuffed avocado after sampling mine. For their main course, they selected the salmon, which was expertly prepared. I also indulged in the Pearadise Margarita mocktail. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu and strawberry shortcake, which were both excellent and the perfect ending to a really amazing dinner. Overall, our dining experience was outstanding, and we departed with full bellies, eager to return. read more
Delicious and fresh food! Don't miss the salmon -- it's perfectly cooked and paired with a fresh cucumber salad. The portion sizes are perfect here, and you can share multiple things if you like, too. The inside ambiance is fine, if not a little cramped, but the patio is lovely. Kid Cashew has always been a favorite in Dilworth. There was a time when my girlfriends and I were here every Saturday in the fall, always on the porch. The mimosa carafes do what they need to do, and the food is consistently great. I never skip the salad. Other go-to's: the stuffed avocado, brussels sprouts, and chicken skewers. This trip, I tried the Mountain Trout, I might be getting that next time! read more
Another great experience at Kid Kashew last night. The restaurant is so cozy inside and the patio is great when it's nice weather outside. We walked in for dinner and we were able to be seated right away. Our server was super nice and she made sure we felt welcomed. The montepulciano and the Sauvignon blanc were both delish. My mom and I split the big cheese burger and brussel sprouts which were so good and my sister had the quinoa stuffed avocado. She loved it! Can't wait to go back! read more

Kid Cashew is affordable, friendly & unpretentious, with a large patio, and delicious, fresh food. What's not to love?? Our party of 2 came in on a Sunday evening a little after 7pm and were seating right away on the patio. Our server recommended that we try some of the items cooked in the wood-fired grill. She also explained that the kitchen doesn't use heat lamps, so the food comes out as it's ready. Honestly - that's preferable! We started with the trio of dips, which came with a hefty amount of warm pita. Although they were all tasty, we agreed the spicy feta was our fave! We then got the grilled octopus, which was nicely charred and served atop quinoa. The shrimp and polenta was creamy, garlicky comfort food. And the rotisserie lamb gyro was solid. We expected the final bill to be higher considering the amount and quality of the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our leftovers the next day and are already planning our return! read more

Yes the outdoor patio tables are dog friendly. Our server even provided a water bowl. Not sure of the vegan options though.
