We got multiple cocktails which were all great - DTR always has the best drinks! We started off with the truffle fries, brussels, and short rib arancini. They were all amazing! For dinner, I had the chicken piccata and I thought it was very good. My husband had the truffle burger and said it was insane! Our friends had the pumpkin gnocchi and loved it! We were greeted very warmly and shown to our table. We were a party of 2 so our table was in a cozy area near the bar and somewhat close behind the host stand. Our waiter took our drink and appetizer order. We started with the roasted oysters and pork belly. The pork belly is served with grilled watermelon, mint, and a balsamic reduction. It was mouth watering delicious! The oysters reminded us of escargot from the 80s served in rich garlicky butter and you would eat the escargot just to get to the butter. We mentioned this to one of the ladies at the host station. She asked if we have tried their bread, made in house topped with za'atar and served with a honey lavender butter? We had not so we ordered it and I still am thinking about that bread. As it turns out, we were chatting with Rachel, the Asst. Manager. She is absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable about food. We had a great conversation. From there, we moved on to entrees. I ordered the Sixty South Salmon. They do not play. It is an 8 oz portion of fish, cooked to medium which is absolutely perfect. The salmon is glazed with a ras el hanout infused honey, served with lemon over basmati fried rice. Their use of Mediterranean and Middle East spices and the floral notes they infuse in their honey is just amazing. We continued to chat off and on with Rachel who also introduced us to Orlaf, the Manager. We talked food and the Charlotte restaurant scene over the years. Everyone there, from the hostess, to the wait staff, to management are all lovely people. Their knowledge of food and the passion for what they do is amazing. I can't recommend the food enough. I don't know how fair of a review this is because we only ordered drinks here but considerate a review of the service and atmosphere. This is a very fancy restaurant and expect to pay close to $20 per drink. The drinks are cool because they do the bubble gun on them and the espresso martini was very good. The restaurant is very clean and they have some cool specialty cocktails. The staff was not very friendly, we were rushed to order then after our first round they never came back to check on us. I had to find someone to pay our check. If drinks are priced that high it would be great to have better service. At least they did taste very good! read more

My parents were in town so we went here for dinner and had a lovely time. They just vacationed in Croatia and were excited to try the Peka. Very authentic and delicious. The service was good, the food was okay. I never ever leave bad reviews off Yelp but our bill was a huge problem. We were charged for refills on Diet Coke without a heads up. I'd be surprised if they were bottles and if they were, they were not as small as the 10/12 oz glasses + ice-- bring them out to the bottle. One person at our table was drinking Diet Coke and was charged $10.50 We were also charged for soda water and soda water refills. Normally I'd say you don't even charge for that at all with a $500 bill. But since the soda water was ordered with bitters, I understand charging ONCE but not again for refills. And the cherry on the top is that martini drinkers were charged PER OLIVE. Egregious. Most of us work in the service industry or previously have and we understand that every single part of a business costs money, but don't put it on the bill. Increase your martini price instead of nickel and diming people for olives and soda water and Diet Coke and bitters. We won't be back. read more

My husband and I came with my parents, and we all enjoyed our drinks and sharing a variety of plates. My dad loves rum, so instead of ordering from the cocktail menu, he asked if the bartended could make him a Painkiller. Our very friendly server returned saying the bartender didn't have the coconut needed for that drink, but the bartender made my dad a great Mai Tai instead. Dad was happy! The rest of us ordered cocktails and wine by the glass from the menu, and all was nicely prepared. For food, we enjoyed the duck empanadas, proscuitto and brie flatbread, and seared tuna. Only been here once and just for drinks, but had a great experience. DTR was highly recommended to us by a local. We stopped in on a weekday evening before going to a concert. I chose the London fog. The presentation of this drink was perfect. I loved the citrus bubble! They even gave me another one since it popped before I could take a video. I didn't even have to ask. They just noticed I was trying to record it and offered to do another one. I'm very appreciative this and their customer service alone encourages me to return next time I'm in Charlotte. The drink itself was okay. Now it may have been because I received two citrus bubbles, but the lemon was very overpowering. I had hoped the cardamom or Earl grey would be stronger than it was. It still tasted good, but I would order a different drink next time. It took me a while to decide on a drink since they have so many delicious sounding cocktails. Rabbit season was very tempting. So happy they have mocktail menu although $13 for a non alcoholic drink is steep for what is essentially juice and club soda. I came to DTR for drinks and appetizers with my girlfriend. We sat outside, which was nice. The service was very good. We ordered the charcuterie board, which is one of my favorite things when I go out to a nice place to eat. It was honestly the worst one that I have ever had. There were very few breadsticks and they were not very good. They put loose peanuts on the plate. The presentation was terrible. There was some type of preserve which was unidentifiable. It was simply the most dissatisfying. DO go to DTR for a: date night, business dinner, night out with friends, celebration. DON'T go to DTR if you are: on a budget, a picky eater, in a hurry, always hungry. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Those coming in sans reservations were told it was a two hour wait. I guess I'll add another don't: have reservations. We started with the grande charcuterie. - your choice of 4 cheeses and 4 cured meats. We had an amazing soft called Rocket's Robiola - they could have given me nothing but a block of this and a spoon and I'd have been happy. We were equally surprised with the Salame Rosa and it's almost delicate pistachios. The board included olives, almonds, cornichons and a variety of complimentary spreads. It not only was very tasty, they presentation was what cheese plates should strive for. In fact, presentation of the entire meal was an ocular delight. My table mates shared one of the lower priced cabs - the wine list was definitely slanted to higher priced bottles. I had a Ranchero where somewhere along the line I missed the mezcal and ended up passing it to my son - i did appreciate it's pretty frothy top. I then ordered a DTR cosmo - it came with a giant bubble of citrus essence- I inadvertently looked away for a second and missed it popping into a cloud of aromatic mist. I've never seen anything like it - it's definitely worth ordering just to see the bubble. It also was delicious. We ordered several plates meant for sharing. We had the heirloom tomato caprese with its decadent, silky smooth fresh mozzarella. It definitely needed more than three pieces of crostini but it was still wonderful. The plates were served as they came out of the kitchen - I don't know if was intentional - the timing allowed us to enjoy each plate individually. Our second plate was the seared ahi - very barely seared, it was topped with perfectly ripened avocado, mild eel mayo and a touch of roe. We then moved on to a brie and prosciutto flatbread that just wasn't up to the uniqueness and interest of the rest of our plates. Finally we shared stuffed peppers (well, everyone else shared - I don't get within 5 feet of a pepper). One of the peppers was hot while the other mild - everyone liked it. We probably could have shared another couple of plates but my 88 year old MIL and 1 month old grandson were past being worn out.The only downside of the meal was that even after all that, none of us were really full - and our check was over $200 for 6 of us. The plates really are just for a taste.- they are small. There were several more substantial looking entrees but nothing there really stood out the way the small plates did. I went to DTR South Park for NYE. The host was very friendly as was the server. We ordered the croquettes as a starter and they were delicious. For my entree I ordered the NYE special pork chop, big mistake. This was probably the worst dish I have ever been served at a restaurant. It was so dry/hard/overcooked that it was difficult to determine which part was meat and which was bone. When I told the server it was not good she indicated she was going to do something, not sure what exactly. I was not comfortable making an issue but she insisted. However she never came back to address it. When it was time to pay, she did offer a free dessert which I declined. After I paid I mentioned to her that they should consider removing this special and then she offered up that she had mentioned it to the chef who said it was dry aged. As I'm not a chef I can't argue with that, but as an accomplished eater I can say this method resulted in an inedible piece of meat. They have quite a selection of wine and cocktails to choose from. I opted to try their Pinot Grigio which I was a fan of. Decided to have something light since I was on the move so I order their truffle fries and Caesar salad. Truffle fries was very tasty, although alil on the salty side but still good. I think the dip in the side was a nice compliment to even out the saltiness. The salad was ok, alil soggy but weirdly enough didn't have enough dressing. Visited on Saturday with some coworkers for a baby shower luncheon. The staff was amazing from the beginning of service until the end. They were attentive throughout and went above and beyond to make sure our group had a good time. Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and DTR did not disappoint! The ambiance of the place gives very grown and sexy vibes. The bar was a little backed up and so they gave the table a round of bubbles (I also believe it was to celebrate the birthday girl!). There are options for small plates and actual meals. I'm not giving this a 5 star because I think our server wasn't top notch and for the price I expected top notch. First he took forever to come and was not very welcoming. We ordered drinks - I got the DTR cosmo which had a little gimmick with a citrus bubble BUT the bartender obviously forgot the cranberry juice since it was very acidy with no cranberry/ a cosmo has that nice pink color- this did not. I asked for some cranberry juice to add and it took a while for him to bring it- meanwhile my table mates were waiting for my drink to be ready . The octopus and the pork belly were my favorites. The Brie flatbread could have used more Brie since it was mostly apples. He never even offered desserts ( my favorite part of a meal) so we paid and went elsewhere for that. read more

Loving the new location of DTR in SouthPark! It's so chic and trendy on the inside. Dim lighting and a great ambiance for a date, girls night or a cocktail on the town. There is a small patio in front, but nothing like the other one, as it's very basic. The patio at the other location is superior, but I like the inside of this location much more! The staff is friendly and are fully versed on their menus. We didn't know what we wanted wine we wanted and our waiter was awesome at helping us pick the perfect wine while staying within our price range. Great wine selection of bottles and by the glass at various price points. Our waiter also was very attentive, but never to the point of annoying. Our water glasses were never empty. It was just overall a great experience. There are some great options for food, slightly different from the other location but lots of your same favorites. Our table got some seasonal Burrata and truffle fries to share and they were both to die for! The Burrata doesn't come with any crostinis or bread, but if you ask they will hook you up! Since this location is new they seem to be fully booked with reservations and not taking many walkins. They fill up fast so definitely make a reservation! Also, right now the reservations only allow you the table for 2 hours so be prepared and plan accordingly... even if that's making a second reservation when your first one ends! We hosted my son's high school graduation party in a private room here. Michael was our server and he was terrific - handling a party of 17 in a way that made it look easy. The food was spot on and drinks were great. Highlights were the smoked old fashioned, the short rib, octopus, gnocchi, oysters, crème brûlée, espresso martini. Can't really say that we had anything we didn't enjoy, except maybe the hummus, but that was because it couldn't stack up to all the other amazing dishes! We were well cared for.
