    Paccheri
    Ben W.

Hip dining area and bar with phenomenal service. We had a group of four for dinner and started with multiple appetizers. The whipped ricotta was great, and the meatballs are a close second. For mains, the bolognese is a good choice, along with the paccheri. The gnocchi with braised duck ragu and the amatriciana were decent, but not standouts. Fun place to visit for a night out with good food.

A great place to check out if you are in Uptown Charlotte. Top notch food selections and a full bar with a plethora of wines. Warm ambiance with friendly and informative servers. Meatballs, calamari, whipped cheese and pear bruchetta appetizers were enjoyed by everyone at the table and were nicely sized to share. They were so tasty that we forgot to take pictures of our meals! The table had a variety of entrees from rich soups to large salads to fresh made pastas in flavorful sauces. A few of us tried their signature alcohol drinks and were all please with both presentation and taste. A great place to bring a date or a small team.

This is a nice restaurant located in the uptown area. You can park in the garage or they have valet parking.. the calamari was salty, but my salmon was pretty good that I had for a meal. The brussels sprouts are pretty good. Riesling was flavorful. Overall, the textures and temperatures were good. The customer service seemed nice between the hostess and the waiter. They had limited options. Nothing was really recommended. We decided to try something new for the holidays. The decor was nice. Came on a weeknight and it wasn't crowded at all Overall, nothing stood out as a must try and will return to experience. I hope that you enjoy.

Took another work trip to Charlotte and stayed at the Kimpton Tryon Park hotel. Their restaurant on the first floor is called Angeline's. Not a lot on the menu I can eat being Gluten free but I tried their shrimp risotto and it was very good. Full of flavor. One big shrimp on top and lots of little ones in the dish. My colleague had a Gnocci with duck. Our app was a Fig Bruschetta (Whipped Goat Cheese, Pistachio, Arugula, Honey) and I was able to enjoy it with GF toast! Win. Stop in and give it a try then head up to their rooftop cocktail bar with a nice view of Charlotte. #charlestonfoodandwine #charlestonfoodie #angelinescharlotte

Cacio e Pepe with salmon added

I'll start with Tracy, our waitress, she was amazing. She was patient with my nieces and answered all of their questions about the menu. My niece was not a fan of her bolognese and she was helpful in selecting something she would like. With the exception of the bolognese everyone enjoyed their dish. We all ended up with some version of the Cabo e Pepe. I added salmon and my sister added shrimp. The Caesar salad was big, but we were told it's not typically that size. The desserts were the best part! I had their chocolate chip gelato and it was so light and not too sweet. The perfect end to the meal. I tried one of the zeppoles and they were everything!! They came out warm with a slight crispy outside and a the apple butter was a great added. My drink, birds of fall, had a little kick to it but not overpowering. The decor was moody and you could watch them cooking in the kitchen depending on where you were seated. I would go back to try their regular menu. We went NYE so all of their options weren't available and they had a steady flow of people so I think reservations are probably a good idea.

My husband and I ventured to Angeline's one Saturday evening during SAVOR Charlotte for a special three-course meal for $45 per person. We parked in the attached hotel parking garage. Event pricing was in place, so it cost $20 to park for our one-hour dinner. Yikes. I do wish Angeline's would validate parking at the hotel. We ordered cocktails to start--the Citrola for me, and the Say Uncle for my husband. Both were expertly made and quite delicious, albeit expensive @ $18 a piece. For our appetizers, we had the Caesar Salad and Meatballs. The Caesar was really good, especially with the tiny crispy crumbs throughout. The Meatballs (two for the SAVOR menu) tasted more of pork than of beef and were good, but not as tender as I would have liked. My husband loved them, however. The accompanying sauce was also excellent. For our entrees, I had the Bolognese and my husband had the Pork Chop. I don't really like pork chops, but I was astounded by the unbelievable flavor and tenderness of my husband's pork chop. And it was fully cooked, too! The sauce was also delicious, although it was slightly salty. The pork chop was definitely the star of our meal. My bolognese was very good as well, with tender noodles and a flavorful sauce. Finally, we tried the zeppole and pistachio tiramisu for dessert. Of the two, we both preferred the zeppole, mostly because of their fluffy texture and the amazing accompanying chocolate and berry sauces. The tiramisu was a large portion, but it lacked a complex flavor. We enjoyed our meal and the service was exceptional. The dining room is also gorgeous, and the tables are well-spaced. Will we return? Likely so on occasion, especially for the pork chop! If they would validate parking, however, they would join our regular rotation.

My bf took me to Angeline's for my birthday when Osteria Luca was closed. In a panic, he googled "nicest Italian restaurant in Charlotte" and Angeline's did not disappoint! I had the salmon and it was really delicious. They also were able to make accommodations for my vegetarian bf which is always a plus. Definitely recommend Angeline's for a nice dinner uptown!

Angeline's is well known in CLT and I have been recommended to try this place by many people. We finally came here for my mom's birthday dinner on a Thursday. The service was quick and the lavender whipped ricotta was delicious. I only wish they had more pasta options on the menu. I got the Cacio & pepe and brussels. Our table also got the limone pasta and the gnocchi. Cacio and pepe was good but needed a protein. Overall good place and would dine here again and try something different.

Came here for a girls night / dinner and really enjoyed them. This was our second time coming and will definitely be back more often. Ordered the shrimp risotto and I was a little salty but not too overbearing.

I had a wonderful experience at Angeline's. I met up with some colleagues for some drinks and conversations in the patio, and the wait staff was pleasant. They made sure drinks were full and that everyone was enjoying their drinks. We had a large spread of appetizers available but I didn't get to try any of it, as I had to leave for a dinner reservation right after. Overall, it was easy to find Angeline's (we took an Uber and walked from the drop-off site) - it was in a great spot with excellent "curb appeal".

Burrata salad - stunning on the plate and delicious

I had a wonderful stay at the Kimpton for business last week, and a colleague and I decided to try Angeline's for dinner on our last night. We came around 7 PM without a reservation, and we could not get a table until 8:30. We opted to have dinner at the bar. While we had good service and great food at the bar, the restaurant space itself is SO beautiful with nice lighting and a lush atmosphere...so if you can make a reservation, I'd go for it to be able to enjoy the lovely dining room! The food here stood out as the best we had all week in Uptown. We had the burrata salad and the minestra/minestrone soup to start, and both were fresh with generous portions and full of flavors and colors. The margherita pizza was perfect for sharing, with light fresh tomato sauce, the perfect amount of cheese, and a light crispy crust. The folks around us ordered some of the pasta dishes and they raved. I will definitely be back, and next time I will save room for the tiramisu!

    Bolognese with Meatballs

Nice, cozy vibe, friendly and attentive staff. Food was good, a little pricey, but you do get what you pay for. The pasta is apparently made in house, it was soft and cooked well. Just a few pieces may have been a bit tough but overall solid dish. The meatballs were great as well, fairly large and shareable.

Complimentary chocolates filled with caramel! Very sweet of the staff.

Had a solo dinner at Angeline's for a work trip, and it was a great option! Solid 4.5 Let's start with the food. The Fra Diavolo seafood pasta ($38), which is one of their most popular offerings, is a tasty dish with thin and silky pappardelle noodles, a rich tomato sauce with a touch of chili, and a smattering of 2 perfectly cooked shrimp, 5 mussels and topped with 1 succulent scallop and some crunchy breadcrumbs. It's well executed and worth the price, but it's not overly filling (best for medium to light appetites) - don't forget you're also paying for not only the meal but the ambience and service. I also had a light local greens salad with peach, green beans, hazelnuts, butter leaf lettuce, and beets sprinkled with flakes of Parmesan $14 - it was good but I expected more flavor overall, more sweetness from the in-season peaches, possibly a bit more saltiness from the green beans, and sweet-tart from the dressing. It's roomy and feels upscale without being pretentious, perfect for a date or hanging out with the girls or even taking your coworkers. The servers and wait staff were very attentive and friendly. They even brought two complimentary chocolate confections at the end of the meal with the check. Definitely would come again!

We had a reservation for Blue Door for Saturday night, and it was amazing. Now while she was vaguely aware of their "spirited kingdom" menu, I had NO CLUE. It was the best surprise! They have such a cool menu with a full theme park map containing 4 lands with 4 cocktails each. The cocktails all match the type of ride they are, it's honestly such a cool idea, and it was so well done. I loved the art. I will say, I was skeptical that all of their drinks would actually work and worried that they'd be too caught up in the theme to make results but . . . Oh my goodness I was so impressed by the drinks here. I think a lot of bars these days can get so caught up in trying to be unique that their drinks become nearly undrinkable. This place definitely doesn't suffer there. They brought us an aperitif when we came in, but unfortunately I have a blueberry allergy so we skipped that. We had 4 drinks between the 2 of us and they were all awesome. I ordered the star breaker and the green dragon (what can I say, I love gin and a good coaster), and they were both balanced and tasty. My friend got the diablo and the neon shift, and they were both fantastic as well! The neon shift was served with a black light too which was super cute. The one drink I have to call out specifically is the green dragon. There was something about this drink that was so unique, I have genuinely never had anything like it but I would order it a thousand times over. It's so good. It keeps me up at night. It haunts my every bar order. I will be writing home about it. What else can I say about this place - the service was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the DJ was amazing. I thought "wow this guy really likes sax covers" only to look over and see him PLAYING HIS SAXOPHONE LIVE?? Iconic. This place was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing about it. The spirited kingdom menu will only be around for 6 months according to the waitress, so definitely catch it while it's there! If I'd heard about it sooner, I would've maybe descended upon them with 200+ theme park engineers in town for the conference (maybe it's a good thing I didn't know they were there until after it was over), but instead I will just say DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND MAKE YOUR RESERVATION NOW

Wow what an experience! I'm in Charlotte for the weekend, and my good friend's colleague…read morerecommended we come here after dinner for drinks. There's outdoor seating, and initially we wanted to sit outside but we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they seated us at a small corner section near the back of the bar. It's very cozy and intimate inside. Just my type of vibe. The service was top tier. They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.

It's a small intimate setting and I do love the dark aesthetic they did. Gives it a swanky vibe and makes a great date spot. But they were burning incense in the tiny space and it was overwhelming. The other bar guests sitting next to us agreed. *They did finally pick up on it and the staff moved it toward the kitchen door* Staff was friendly as well, though, it was busy and looked as if they had a trainee in tow, so attention was lacking just a bit. So why we came: The drinks were average to me. One was weird (Pineapple Fried Rice) and I just couldn't get it sit well on my palate - and I tried - sip after sip. But the mixologist saw my struggle and swapped it out for a different one. I did like the Don't Shy Away - it was an interesting take on a margarita with a strong carrot base. The Whispering Dove was a take on a Paloma and I couldn't find the lemongrass infusion on my palate. So I found it pretty basic, but pricey. So overall, decent. And I might stop buy if I was stuck in the area again.
