I visited Leroy Fox on Monday afternoon around 4 PM, and honestly, I'm very disappointed with the experience. When we first arrived, it wasn't busy at all. We were greeted quickly, seated right away, and the server initially seemed attentive. That gave me a great first impression. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, and those came out in a reasonable time. However, things completely changed after that. Once we finished our appetizer and drinks, we had to wait for the waitress to return so we could place our entrée order. After ordering, we waited about 30 minutes for our food--while a couple who came in about 20 minutes after us received their entrées before we did. To make matters worse, we had paid for parking (about 1 hour and 30 minutes) expecting a quick visit since it was a slow Monday. Instead, we ended up using the entire time just waiting. Our meals were simple--wings with mac and cheese, and a Carolina dip sandwich--so it was confusing why it took so long. During the wait, there was no real check-in from our server. We were told once that our food would be "out shortly," but that was about 10 minutes in... and we still waited another 20 minutes after that. Customer service really dropped off. * No apology for the delay * No check-ins * No offer for refills * No "Is everything okay?" after the food arrived * No offer for a to-go bag I understand they were training a new employee, but once the trainer stepped away, the main server should have been more attentive. The food itself was okay--not bad, but not enough to make up for the experience. For me, customer service is everything, and unfortunately, this was a poor experience overall. Because of that, I won't be returning.

My girlfriends and I were out to grab a coffee and the place we were at don't open until later, so we came here. This was my first time, but not theirs. There wasn't a wait at all and was immediately able to place our orders. Our waitress was very sweet and gave us suggestions. It was fairly quiet, but played great music! Everything looked amazing on the menu, so I tried the Shrimp and Grits and the Strawberry Lemon Drop mocktail. As many shrimp and grits I've tried in the past, this one was soooo amazing, it's better than Midnight Diner! The grits were very creamy and the drink was even better! 10/10, I suggest everyone go and try it! You won't be disappointed!!!

4.5/5! Leroy Fox has always been a place I walk by and have been before, but hadn't thought to go back, but so glad I did today. Steady Friday crowd, but not overly busy. Bartender was super attentive and easy going. It's a nice, laid back spot which at the end of a hectic week is awesome. I went with the Prohibited Burger with no lettuce and it was so good! Paired it with the cajun fries as well. The burger was perfectly cooked and did not slide off the bun which is always a plus. Fries were perfect also. My friend got the mac and cheese which was so so good. Cannot wait to go back. One note, it is in South End so parking can be tricky if you're hoping for street parking. If not, there are decks all around for parking.

We stopped in around lunch time and were greeted by friendly staff and a nearly empty restaurant. I thought the decor inside was very cute and remember seeing a few tables outside on a patio as well - but we opted for indoor. Our food came out piping hot and quick. Which we were appreciative of since we arrived starving.

I recently tried Leroy Fox after hearing all the hype on TikTok, and honestly... the experience didn't match the buzz. The restaurant was pretty empty--only a few tables--so we expected quick, attentive service. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Our food took a long time to come out, and there was a new server in training. We're not 100% sure what happened, but it seemed like our order may have been put in late. To make it worse, another table that came in about 25-30 minutes after us received their entrée before we did--even though we ordered first. Once the original server stepped in, there was still no explanation or real acknowledgment of the delay. The lack of communication and attentiveness really stood out. Now, to be fair--the atmosphere was nice, and the prices were reasonable. But customer service? 0/10. Wait time? 0/10. By the time our food finally arrived, we had already been sitting for nearly an hour--and we asked for the check right after. We didn't make a scene, just paid and left. We even left a small tip because we understand how the industry works--this wasn't about the money. Overall, based on our experience, we probably won't be back. That said, I'd never tell someone not to try a place--go see for yourself. Just know the service may not match the hype.

Our office walked over to Leroy Fox this week for lunch. We had a group of 12 of us. The table was ready when we arrived, as I called to let them know we'd be coming. The service was outstanding from start to finish - the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. For larger groups, this was definitely noticeable. The highlight for me was definitely the Zucchini Fries and the Honey Buffalo Wrap - both were absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and the right amount of heat. Highly recommend this place for a group outing or any lunch occasion. Will definitely be back!

This restaurant is very warm and welcoming with a great friendly staff. The interior is spacious and very clean. They were welcoming in letting our team celebrate a great national title. We ordered their famous delicious chicken steak plate. It was fantastic and full of flavor. Their cocktails are made very well also. We loved everything about this restaurant and staff!

With Leroy Fox I just have to keep it simple. If you like good food, come here! I alternate between the chicken pita and buffalo chicken sandwich. If you're deciding between those two, you can't go wrong! And their Cajun fries are the move! The customer service is typically very good and music is a vibe! That's my favorite thing about this place, second to the food of course! The only downfall is it often takes a long time for your food to come out. So if you're in a rush you may want to weigh all your options!

Chicken grill (supposed to be honey glaze but was served blackened) mac n cheese and ceasar salad

Nothing to rave about. Came here on a Saturday night and was able to grab a table immediately. I usually order wine but since their drink names were catchy, I wanted to try one. After getting recommendations from our host, I ordered the Perry Styles. It's pear vodka with prosecco and pear simple syrup. They make their own simple syrup! I thought that was pretty cool. However half the glass was filled with ice and I could hardly tell there was alcohol in it. Tasted more like a juice. Came in a tall glass. I think it should be in a short glass. Cool concept but not worth reordering. My entree was the chicken grill with honey glaze, ceasar salad and mac n cheese. Let's start with the chicken. The host asked "how do you want your chicken" since it comes with 3 options 1. honey glazed 2. blackened 3. citrus olive oil.... when it arrived I noticed it was blackened and not honey glaze. The host said it was her mistake, which makes sense considering she didn't write down our order. Instead of asking for it to be remade, I just asked for the honey glaze on the side. The ceasar salad was ok, romane lettuce, croutons and bottled dressing. The mac n cheese was interesting. Before ordering I asked the host if their mac has real cheese and not creamy soup based mac. She said it's on top. Since they use the spiral noodles I figured I'd try it. Yup, it is creamy soup based on the inside and melted real cheese on top. I'm not a fan of soup mac n cheese. It's a miss for me. My friend ordered the blackened salmon with mac n cheese and brussel sprouts. She agreed on the mac. Her blackened salmon skin was burnt. The guy came out and said that's how they make it blackened. Last time I checked, blackened anything is the flavor. It was evident either the burner was too high or the salmon has been cooking too long. Blackened does not equal burnt. Her mocktail also contained the same amount of ice as my drink. And the lemonade is Minute Maid. Price was cool, a little under $40 for each with taxes and stuff. Staff tried their best but there could definitely be some improvements. I came, I saw, but won't be returning.

Leroy Fox is always a 10/10. My husband and I have ate here several times and always leave happy! The drinks are good and the food is always great! We typically order the buffalo chicken dip as an app and two different chicken sandwich's and split to have a combo. Definitely recommend!

I loved this place! The server was very attentive and the hostess asked our seating preferences which I appreciated. The food was excellent. I was able to make pretty much any cocktail on the menu into a mocktail, and the berry smash was excellent as a mocktail.

Friendly servers and decent food. I don't have any complaints, but I can't quite figure out the vibe and I thought the food was missing something I couldn't put my finger on. The service was quick and friendly. We tried the Leroy's Favorite (fried) Chicken Sandwich was alright. The Leroy's Honey Buffalo (grilled) Chicken Sandwich was really good. The Mac N Cheese was good too. They have a good selection of drinks but the menu needed some work regarding what is current. They are kid friendly, which I think is a good thing. Overall good option.

It's one…read moreof those comfort foods I don't eat often because it's so rich--but when I see it on a menu, it absolutely catches my attention. That's exactly what drew me to The Southern Pecan in SouthPark. Here in the South, they call it country fried steak, and I'm happy to report this one did not disappoint. I met a colleague there for lunch, and everything about the experience felt easy from the start. The restaurant is located in Phillips Place, a lovely little shopping area that feels a bit polished and upscale--with shops like Orvis, Tory Burch, and even a Restoration Hardware restaurant nearby. They do offer valet parking, which is a nice touch, though honestly parking is easy enough on your own. We had reservations through OpenTable and were seated on the patio, which was absolutely delightful for this time of year in Charlotte. The weather was perfect, the setting was relaxed, and the service started off warm and welcoming right away. Now, the food. The country fried steak was beautifully cooked--crispy on the outside, tender inside, and served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy that hit all the nostalgic notes from my Texas upbringing. I paired it with a vegetable side (I believe it was broccoli or corn), and it was a classic Southern plate done right. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, and to finish, we split a praline bread pudding, which felt like the perfect Southern ending to the meal--sweet, comforting, and indulgent without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and attentive, and one of the things I continue to appreciate about Charlotte is how easy it is to connect with people. We even chatted with diners at nearby tables, which added to that welcoming, community feel that makes dining out here so enjoyable--especially for someone coming from the Bay Area. Prices felt fair for the quality, the setting, and the portion sizes, and overall the experience left a great impression. Bottom line: If you're craving a solid Southern classic like country fried steak--or just want a relaxed patio lunch in a charming part of SouthPark--The Southern Pecan is definitely worth a visit. And as someone happily eating my way through Charlotte and the Southeast, this stop was another reminder that the journey has been a delicious one.

It was already quite busy when we arrived and it's not clear where your parking options are. People are pulling up to the entrance and dropping people off so it gets jammed up and chaotic, of course people are running late so those BIG Yukons and Suburbans are making it a challenge to navigate a small entrance area. You would THINK they would at least have a Valet option of Sat/Sun during Brunch. To park, go BEHIND the restaurant on the street to the left and you'll see some free parking options that are close and walkable. We asked for a table on the patio and were immediately seated. The bar was already buzzing with solo diners enjoying their Mimosas. The patio is NOT that big, a little over crowded and table are very close with not much space in between. There was a LARGE group of 'FUN' ladies right beside us enjoying their MIMOSAS, dropping the 'F' bomb from time to time and making a LOT of noise. What can you do? Nothing but try to make the best of it and just start talking LOUDER like everyone else. The OVERHEAD heaters were way too intense so the Staff was very responsive at our request to turn down the heat. We shared the BBQ Shrimp Starter which was SO good, I highly recommend. I had the Gumbo and Michelle had the beet and goat cheese salad. We both had the Red Fish which comes with smashed potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were so BLAND, the broccoli had NO seasoning. The Red Fish wasn't that great of a flavor and not very tender, not easy to cut, had to use my knife at times to get a bite. Kinda disappointed, I lived in N Orleans for a couple of years and it was always so good there. The biggest disappointment was the Gumbo. It had all the right ingredients but the ROUX was to strong, dark and heavy. It actually gave me indigestion afterwards. The service was OUTSTANDING. Our Server was Daylean, she was so nice and helpful with the menu and kept our refills coming.

They even still have the 120 year old pews! If you ask your server, you are likely to hear the entire story of the place. It's pretty amazing. They recently received a Michelin recommendation and it's totally deserved. It's a buffet, but most of the hot food is actually served by a person which is something that I particularly appreciate. (I really don't like touching the handles of spoons that hundreds of people have touched.) Some of the stuff is self serve but not any of the hot dishes. Absolutely everything I tried was outstanding. Like everything. There are a few things that they consider "pass around" which means that they are brought over to you by a server at random intervals. For everything else, you just help yourself. I went with a friend of mine who has a deep appreciation for a southern food. He was absolutely amazed. The first interaction was like we had stepped into someone's home and were told to make ourselves at home. And the rest was the same. The gentleman walked us through the menu. Pretty much the entire line up of options. Not a condescending or impatient tone - warm and welcoming. Same with the next person. Even convinced my friend to get a dessert. Not that I need my arm twisted. The dining area was well kept. Clean. The condiments were well stocked and organized. I saw two different team members taking care of business there even asking if I needed anything. Bathrooms were immaculate. Don't see that very often - at least I don't in public places. The food was what we were looking for. Comfort food. With taste, not muted - just good flavor and consistency. A far cry from the bland, dry foods we had experienced the days prior. It was one of the first meals I really enjoyed on this trip to NC. Not saying that others were bad - they just didn't align with my taste preferences/expectations. Something about how Fried Chicken and Pork Chops are prepared in the South (or NOT California). Tender. Juicy. Mac & Cheese - not watery or overcooked. And I don't think I've ever had bad collared greens in my life. It's one of the handful of green vegetables I love having. Almost forgot parking. It's in kinda a plaza/strip mall setting. Free space and lots when we went (lunch). Not having to look for or pay for parking is always a plus for me. So, it's a chain. But I'd definitely go back. HIDDEN GEM ALERT!…read more And that's not an exaggeration: this is a pop-up inside the Forest Hill Church kitchen! Don't let the random location fool you; HA Pigsmith's is busting out some mean eats, with hefty portions and affordable prices. How it works: Follow @so_science on Instagram, and they'll post the week's menu over the weekend. The themes vary every week, so keep an eye on it! You have until midnight on Tuesday to email them with your order. On Wednesday morning, you get an email with payment and pick-up details, and then you swing by the back of the church between 4 and 7 PM on Wednesday to pick up your goods! Pretty easy process, especially if you live close by. So far we've gotten dishes from their BBQ menu (brisket, bbq beans, cheese and mac) and their Greek menu (moussaka with side Greek salad, gyro with fries). Everything is restaurant quality. Let me rephrase: everything is excellent restaurant quality! Like what I would expect if I went to a BBQ joint or Greek spot that specialize in that type of cuisine. Pretty incredible. We originally found out about HA's from a neighbor, and I added this business page to Yelp to be able to share my photos and experiences to help spread the word about this awesome local spot!

It's beautifully decorated (I fell in love with the bathroom decor) and the bar area is lovely and we stocked. Our server Natasha O was exceptional. She explained items on the menu and even made a drink recommendation that was not listed. For appetizers we had the fig salad and the large portion was more than enough for 3 people with leftovers. We shared the charred oysters and I really with we had gotten a dozen because they were perfection! I had the Wagyu burger which was 1/2 pound and I brought half of it home. It was complimented with truffle shoestring fries. Great portion sizes, amazing service and beautiful decor. I will surely come back. Hope I get sat in Natasha's section again she was amazing! Parking as always is tight in that area so plan accordingly.
