    Cast Iron NC Trout

Came by for dinner on a Saturday night. Really to try to their fried chicken. We were greeted and seated right away. Service was prompt and our waitress was patient with us as we scanned the menu. It was 60% full. It was a casual crowd. Fried chicken: 3.5 stars for me. I wanted to like it but it was ok. The taste and flavor was good. Just the batter was a little hard vs crispy. Champagne chicken tender: 4 stars. Better with the texture. Good flavor. Crispy Brussels sprouts:4 stars. Would have given it a 5 stars but it was so salty. We only were able to finish half and took it to go, which sadly we couldn't finish due to its saltiness. Cast iron trout: 4.5 stars. Best dish. Crispy skin. Moist meat. Just the right saltiness. Alas I hit too much food and could not finish.

This was my second time here. First time was years ago when they first opened and I came for brunch so I was pressed for mimosas so much that I don't remember the food. This go round, I got the smoked chicken with a various amount of sides. This chicken was so flavorful. Initially the waiter poured this white bbq sauce over it & I was a little skeptical But after digging in, I was thankful that he did that. Huge portion of white meat chicken, with a side of sweet potatoe dumplings & veggies. I've been craving it since I went a couple of weeks ago. The service was good & the vibe was perfect. The decorations in side & the way the building is built out is perfect and gives a vintage vibe.

@haberdish Southern comfort food executed perfectly. Champagne tenders - impressively crispy with a slightly sweet breading. Regular tenders - classic tender. Still crispy breading, however, more chicken, less breading on this one. Sweet potato dumplings were nice and warm. Comforting. Great flavor. Softer than expected Mac and cheese - best mac and cheese ever, hands down Brussel sprouts - crispy and full of flavor. @lustymonkmustard brings the flavor here... This is absolutely a must visit restaurant!

Still dreaming about the Brussels sprouts they were that good. We went to Haberdish as a walk in on a Saturday night and only waited about 30 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all. For a table of four, we ordered the whole fried chicken, mac and cheese, sweet potato gnocchi, biscuits, and Brussels sprouts, and it was more than enough food. The stars of the show were definitely the fried chicken, the Brussels, and the sweet potato gnocchi but honestly, everything was incredible. The biscuits were also dangerously good. Maybe there were no stars because the whole meal was just that solid. Service was top tier. Friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. The space is dimly lit and cozy, perfect for a chill dinner vibe. 10 out of 10 would come back, and yes, I will be ordering those Brussels sprouts again.

10/10 recommend! This is a Michelin starred restaurant for a reason! I'm thankful the yelp reviews lead me here after a long travel day. I got seated right away and the experience was amazing. We started with the hush puppies and trout dip and right away I knew I picked the right place. The hush puppies come with a homemade sweet tea butter and listen it's amazing! The cocktails were chef kiss from their lemon drop to the death metal kitten cocktail! The sides are shared so we went with Mac and Brussels. The Brussels will leave you craving more and the Mac is an amazing choice. The chicken is award winning either option you can't go wrong with. Buuttttt let me tell you about the dessert!! The banana pudding would have me up there weekly for my fix if i lived there. The compote on the brown butter cake was delicious too. Everything about this place yelled amazing. The lights are lowly lit and makes for the perfect date night spot. It wasn't too loud but the music added a nice touch. It's a must try.

Excellent experience! Everything on the menu looked so good; we had to order practically everything lol First, the ambiance - such a cute location and nice, clean, modern and kind of upscale vibe. Now, the food. I really enjoyed every dish! Each dish had its own unique flavor and the portions were great for sharing. If you're a vegetarian, you will be able to find a lot of great options here! Out of everything my party ordered, I took delight in the sweet potato dumplings and fried oysters mushrooms (chef special) the most. The sweet potato dumplings were subtle and super soft. One of their must-eat dishes here is the fried chicken and champagne chicken tenders. Not bad, but I personally would not order them again because they lacked flavor/seasoning. However, they do come with sauces. The champagne tenders were huge! A lot of batter on them. Chicken was very moist, just wish they had more flavor haha Great place for date night, big party, or just a solo night out in town. Our server was great. She was impressed with how much we ordered! Each table has a bottle of their homemade (I think) hot sauce which I felt added a great kick to every bite!

Service is amazing, friendly and professional. Great food, a bit too salty for me but very tasty. The pickles were unique and delicious. Loved the hush puppies & tea butter. The ambience is spot on for the cuisine. Great vibe here!

Love this place! It is a fancy southern menu right in the heart of Noda surrounded by tons of other stores, bars etc. The Mac n cheese is my favorite dish, along with their hush puppies. The fried chicken is always cooked to perfection but lacking some seasoning in my opinion. We also tried the pickles and they are very vinegary but crunchy! Our service was very kind and attentive. Was able to bring my dog and sit outside. 8/10 experience.

Biscuits & Gravy (5/5): Didn't get a picture but this was a top tier biscuits and gravy. The gravy was delicious and had plenty of sausage in it. I really liked the cayenne pepper sprinkled on top to give it a good kick. The biscuits were soft and fluffy. It'll be a tough choice for me next time between this and the Nashville Hot Chicken. Chicken waffles (3/5): Chicken was good, well fried and crispy, but the waffle was REALLY dense and hard to chew. It tasted like very compressed white bread. Go for just the fried chicken. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Amazing! My friend and I sat at the bar and the bartenders were so nice and helpful! They had great recommendations! Fried Chicken half was perfect for us two. The chicken had a good batter and crisp and chicken was juicy. The Brussels sprouts were delicious, the sauce was great and cooked to perfection. Sweet Potato Dumplings were different but SO good, nice and savory. They are comparable to a gnocchi.

The food here was ok! I got the fried chicken which was good but I wished it was more seasoned. I needed sauce with it because the chicken itself was more on the bland side. The sweet potato dumplings were good at first but I could only eat a few because they are very very buttery. I also liked the Brussel sprouts but the bottom ones were super coated in the sauce while the top ones were dry. Overall the food was decent. The service was quick and they gave lots of recommendations for us. We also really enjoyed sitting by the open door because it was nice outside.

There's nothing ordinary about a chicken sandwich here. It's worth fighting for parking in this busy area! Super cute inside and every staff member I interacted with was friendly and warm. I started with a Big fix drink because I was honestly intrigued by strawberry pedialyte as an ingredient. It was super refreshing and I probably would have enjoyed it even more on a warmer day; it was unseasonably cool today. I chose the Seasonal chicken sandwich. I don't know what they put in that sauce but I wanted a bucket of it to go. The chicken thigh was huge and seasoned to perfection. I couldn't eat all of the potato wedges. Well, I could have but knew that wasn't a good idea for my waistline. We will definitely be back!

There's outdoor seating, and initially we wanted to sit outside but we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they seated us at a small corner section near the back of the bar. It's very cozy and intimate inside. Just my type of vibe. The service was top tier. They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.

It's a small intimate setting and I do love the dark aesthetic they did. Gives it a swanky vibe and makes a great date spot. But they were burning incense in the tiny space and it was overwhelming. The other bar guests sitting next to us agreed. *They did finally pick up on it and the staff moved it toward the kitchen door* Staff was friendly as well, though, it was busy and looked as if they had a trainee in tow, so attention was lacking just a bit. So why we came: The drinks were average to me. One was weird (Pineapple Fried Rice) and I just couldn't get it sit well on my palate - and I tried - sip after sip. But the mixologist saw my struggle and swapped it out for a different one. I did like the Don't Shy Away - it was an interesting take on a margarita with a strong carrot base. The Whispering Dove was a take on a Paloma and I couldn't find the lemongrass infusion on my palate. So I found it pretty basic, but pricey. So overall, decent. And I might stop buy if I was stuck in the area again.

We had a reservation for Blue Door for Saturday night, and it was amazing. Now while she was vaguely aware of their "spirited kingdom" menu, I had NO CLUE. It was the best surprise! They have such a cool menu with a full theme park map containing 4 lands with 4 cocktails each. The cocktails all match the type of ride they are, it's honestly such a cool idea, and it was so well done. I loved the art. I will say, I was skeptical that all of their drinks would actually work and worried that they'd be too caught up in the theme to make results but . . . Oh my goodness I was so impressed by the drinks here. I think a lot of bars these days can get so caught up in trying to be unique that their drinks become nearly undrinkable. This place definitely doesn't suffer there. They brought us an aperitif when we came in, but unfortunately I have a blueberry allergy so we skipped that. We had 4 drinks between the 2 of us and they were all awesome. I ordered the star breaker and the green dragon (what can I say, I love gin and a good coaster), and they were both balanced and tasty. My friend got the diablo and the neon shift, and they were both fantastic as well! The neon shift was served with a black light too which was super cute. The one drink I have to call out specifically is the green dragon. There was something about this drink that was so unique, I have genuinely never had anything like it but I would order it a thousand times over. It's so good. It keeps me up at night. It haunts my every bar order. I will be writing home about it. What else can I say about this place - the service was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the DJ was amazing. I thought "wow this guy really likes sax covers" only to look over and see him PLAYING HIS SAXOPHONE LIVE?? Iconic. This place was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing about it. The spirited kingdom menu will only be around for 6 months according to the waitress, so definitely catch it while it's there! If I'd heard about it sooner, I would've maybe descended upon them with 200+ theme park engineers in town for the conference (maybe it's a good thing I didn't know they were there until after it was over), but instead I will just say DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND MAKE YOUR RESERVATION NOW

We did make reservations for a Monday night, though it wasn't busy at all, so you could probably swing by on a whim should you want to during the week. The place was a bit elusive to find, as you have to look for the '3 dot sign' with a staff member guarding the door, which I'm sure is the intent! Once you enter, you walk down a long, candlelit hall, which sets the speakeasy mood right away. Upon entering, the classic speakeasy vibe hits you! Dim lighting, leather chairs, a beautiful bar stocked to the brim with whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and all the other good things you would expect to find in a place that prides itself on great cocktails. It certainly set the mood and got us ready to have an experience. The mixologists were welcoming and informative. I enjoyed my first drink, which was suggested based on my personal preferences in taste. It was a spin off a classic, and I really enjoyed it. Sort of like a cross of a penicillin and a whiskey sour. [The Never Ending Story]. My friend had the clarified punch since we had similar things we've loved in the past. It was slightly sweet, smooth, and easy to sip. We decided to just get some classics since the cocktail menu felt more like just off shots of other classics we love. They were both excluded well! But the thing that really blew us away was the food! I was really pleased with this portion of our evening! We had the crispy Brussels sprouts, and they were the best BSs I've ever had! I thought we'd take some home, but that did not happen! My friend got the Mushroom Casarecce. It was creamy and delicious! The beef carpaccio was also really nice.
