Stopped in while visiting family for dinner tonight. Avery was our server. I ordered the fried green tomatoes and crispy mahi bowl. My family has shrimp and grits and a burger. They enjoyed their entrees, I feel like mine was just okay. I'm use to fried green tomatoes being a little more crispy and the tomatoes firmer and the bowl had some good flavor but wasn't my favorite. I had some of their truffle fries and I would have been happier with that as my meal. Service was great and we lucked up with a parking spot right next to the restaurant, which I could see parking being a challenge. The rate to park was decent. Love how you can open up the inside to get a breeze coming in and we ate on the patio which was perfect. We also had a few drinks at the bar before getting seated at the patio and the drinks were good, the old fashion, the elderberry drink and a lemon tonic.
Yesterday we rolled ten deep at Stir, the food was good, the service was outstanding. Sadly the server was everywhere and he needed support. At one point I saw my food sitting at the seafood/liquor bar so long that I had to end up saying something to keep myself from going to pick it up myself. Their site said if you park on the 2nd floor and above you get two hours free parking. I did validate with the hostess up front but I ended up paying $12.00 to get out of the parking deck. I believe it was a mix of validation not working and the length of timing it took to get our checks. And the checks were a challenge as we arrived 15mins before happy hour ended but we were charged non happy hour charges that were fixed after we noticed it but before we paid. Inside is very sexy nice ambiance Would I go back, yes I would but I would be more mindful and watchful or my time and my bill.
Came to STIR after attending a concert on the lawn in Charlotte. It was wasn't really busy when we arrived because it was late on a Sunday day evening. We were seated quickly and the waitress was really helpful with answering our questions about the menu. I'm not a burger person but when I asked about it she stated it was really good and popular. I wanted it medium but she said it's more like a smash burger but she promised it would not be dry. She was right, it wasn't dry at all. I enjoyed it. I'd definitely like to visit there again.
Went on a Saturday night. Our server Jade was lovely. Answered questions about the menu and provided suggestions. Also got a nice crème brûlée for my birthday! Will be back to try more menu items!
My bf wanted to go here for brunch so we grabbed an uber and went there to eat. We got the deviled eggs for an appetizer and I loved the classic and the ones with bacon. They had like a pasta salad bar that was complimentary and it also had treats too. I had a brownie and a mini blueberry muffin. The muffin was extremely moist and was really good. I got an amaretto sour with fee foam and it was so creamy and perfectly sweet and tart. It went so well with my steak and eggs. I requested medium rare and they had this butter I had with it and it was so delicious. The eggs were scrambled and I think it was just the perfect breakfast. My bf had the lobster crab cakes and I think that was also one of my favorites. I wish it had been slightly crispier but the flavor of the lobster and crab was really good. I love the vibes of the restaurant, it was elegant , bright, and loud but in a good way. I'd def come back.
Tried here for early dinner one Friday. We were seated promptly for our reservation. Service was good although food took a while as it got busier into the evening. The restaurant itself was nice and spacious with pretty decor. We ordered cocktails, I ordered a lemon martini which was made well. I ordered lobster and shrimp mac entree which was good. It's a very large portion with 2-3 servings. My friend ordered oysters which were on special for $1 each, and caesar salad. A solid experience. I'd return to try other dishes.
Looking for a casual spot, I'll be honest, STIR was not our first choice for a few drinks before our afternoon plans kinda location. But that's also bc I judged a book by its cover. STIR is a great venue for a range of folks--from the dressier to the more casual. You won't be disappointed. The drinks for brunch are very reasonably priced--as is the food. (I was very tempted to get the deviled eggs till I learned I would get eight!...). Bonus: Listen to the pitch about the different ice--also seen in one of the pictures.
Trying to get a table for a large group, while in town for a conference, is no small feat. But thanks to local Yelp reviews, I found STIR Charlotte for our group dinner. Despite delays in getting here from our hotel (Bruno Mars was playing in Carlotte) we arrived to find a nice, relaxed but trendy vibe inside. The drinks were refreshing and potent and tables for a large group were more than sufficient enough at a high top inside. The specials were unique and it was hard to decide because they all looked appealing. I settled on the Bento Box and a French Martini. Others in our party ordered salads or steaks. Service was a little slower than other places I dined at that week, but it was a fairly busy night. Loved the bar layout and ladder to grab "top shelf" bottles. Great place to sit and take in all the activity in the area. STIR was less than a mile walk back to our hotel on a beautiful night. I would highly recommend this place and the menu has options to suit many tastes.
Really cute place and we sat outside on a nice sunny day. Loved the vibes of it all and their drinks were great and strong! Service was also very good. I started with two of their oysters and unfortunately they were not shucked properly where the bottom muscles were not shucked so I couldn't eat it in one slurp. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it's a huge portion. However, the sauce over the grits was incredibly salty. I think if the sauce wasn't on it, it would've been a great dish.
STIR is a vibe! We came during brunch and was pleased to see there was live music and a complimentary buffet. While the vibe was 10/10 food fell a little short. Steak was overcooked and there was barely any crab in my crab and shrimp Benedict. I will say the espresso martini was amazinggg! Probably one of the best I've had.
We visited stir on a Saturday morning for a brunch. My friend and I totally blanked that it was Valentine's Day, but they had space at the raw bar! We started with a dozen oysters and a couple drinks. Their Bloody Mary was good, but not memorable. My friend got the elderflower sour, but it was a little too sweet. The oyster selection was great. I often get oysters and shuck them at home, so it takes something I don't normally get for me to order oysters at a restaurant. They had 6 varieties which was a good number. I loved the little sweets, I hadn't tried those before. I appreciate that this place separated the horseradish from the cocktail sauce too since I really love horseradish and don't like cocktail sauce at all. All the oysters were well shucked too. For mains, we split a chicken and waffles and a shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits was awesome: creamy grits, seasoned shrimp, beautiful flavor, but not so beautiful to look at. The chicken and waffles was solid, but nothing to write home about, and again didn't impress visually. I think that this place would gain a lot by focusing on their presentation a little. While their brunch menu wasn't anything special, all the flavors were there. I would probably try lunch or dinner here because I'm somewhat curious about it, but I would say this isn't the most impressive date spot. I think the strong suit of STIR is definitely the raw bar. That being said, the service was awesome the whole time and the staff seemed cool.
The team of hosts we had were Jonah and Alissa. They were great!!! We had a little bit of a faux paus when we arrived and our table was accidentally given away but they made up for it. The food was very good. The service was exceptional and everything was prepared as ordered. I'd return again.
3.5/5 This was our first time dining at STIR in Charlotte. Overall, the experience was mixed. The steamed oysters were very good, and the Baja omelette was flavorful and well-prepared. We also ordered a vegan poke bowl to go and look forward to enjoying that later. The decor, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. The restrooms were very clean. It took us about an hour to receive our entrees. The biggest disappointment was the chicken and waffles. The waffles arrived cold and hard, which took away from what could have been a great dish. The service was okay--not bad, but not particularly memorable either. Our server was pleasant enough and handled the table adequately. While there were definitely some highlights, especially the oysters and omelette, the issues with the chicken and waffles kept this visit from being a great first impression. We may give STIR another try in the future and hope for a more consistent experience.

I usually love STIR and everything I've had typically knocks it out of the park. This time I left feeling underwhelmed. I got the steak frites- medium rare. The center of the steak was a perfect medium rare, however the outer thirds on both sides were significantly more done. I wish they didn't put the steak sauce on the plate. I was expecting maybe a small drizzle of it, but instead the steak was in a large puddle of it. The steak is good on its own and the steak sauce significantly overpowers it. I was also disappointed that my fries tasted overcooked, or maybe like they were cooked in old oil. I wasn't able to eat most of them, but picked out the lighter ones and enjoyed those. Others at my table also got the steak frites and their fries looked like a better batch. Also worth mentioning, another guest at the table got shrimp scampi, expecting the typical shrimp and veggies over pasta. There was no pasta. Just something to keep in mind if you're expecting pasta with shrimp scampi! read more
Final night of a great girls weekend getaway! Only failure was coming to Charlotte's Stir. The ONE STAR is ONLY for the very sweet hostesses working tonight. We ordered the whipped feta for the table and it was very tasty. The waitress let us know the kitchen was backed up but shouldn't be too long. I was truly looking forward to the steak frites and fries. Maybe my expectations are set too high because I know how to grill steak and cook fries. Maybe I expect too much for food & service personnel in the this industry. The waitress did not apologize for the cold food. She only took it away and back to the kitchen. A manager returned with the second try. Repeat FAILURE. My friend at our table of 4 had two tries with her Mahi tacos. First go - cold fish. Second try - cold and barely any fish in the tacos. When the waitress came to see if I wanted a To-go box, I explained I'm not interested in taking this because it came out cold again with chewy fries like they sat under a heat lamp. She took it and walked away. Should I expect an apology from the person caring for our table, as a courtesy & speaking for the kitchen? High expectation! How is he kitchen backed up and serving cold food??? The only saving grace for this evening was the manager Gary. The waitress did go back and get him again.... I'm no longer hungry, so I guess that's gonna have be it for the night. read more

Super yummy food! Have to try the Lobster-Crab cakes (they are better than the broiled oysters) ... Lobster-Shrimp Mac was 10/10, and my friend got the chicken piccata that was also delicious! read more
Me and my homegirl are visiting from out of town and came in for dinner. Our waiter Aiden was very knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor!! The craft drinks were delicious and the food was great! Definitely check this place out and ask to sit in Aiden's section. read more
My mom and I had a lovely experience here. We sat at the bar on a Saturday around 3 to grab a cocktail and an appetizer. The bartender greeted us right away and gave us water. The drinks were well made and tasted wonderful. I ordered the old fashioned and my mom got an espresso martini. There is lots of seating inside so we had no issue finding a spot to sit. read more
My boyfriend and I came here on a whim on a random Monday for dinner and of course we were able to get sat right away with no reservation. We noticed it was warm inside so when asked about it, they mentioned how the a/c wasn't working which isn't their fault but I wish they mentioned that to us because we got sat. Our waitress came to greet and she was absolutely incredible the whole time with getting us ice water and validating my ticket without asking and much more!! I wish I remembered her name which I would come back because of her service. For appetizer, we got the peach and burrata which is seasonal and it tasted amazing with the combination but I wish the bread was a bit thicker. We got the lobster and shrimp mac and cheese to share which was good besides the fact that is was lemony which was very off putting. I got the spicy tuna bites to eat and the tuna was incredible and the toppings made the flavors mix together very well. read more

Easily the best meal we've had in Charlotte during our stay. 10/10 would recommend and eat here again! read more
3.5 stars. Stir is in a great location and super pretty-ish and vibey looking. The food was mostly just okay to me - but I can see why people frequent this place. I think this is a great option for date night or a casual dinner with friends. If you're a more picky eater who doesn't venture out too far or have a more "classic palette" - I think this is a good option for you. The halibut was good but I wasn't a fan of the breading/light frying of the fish. The farro was okay and the vegetables it included was a few pieces of precut carrots. My fries were mostly soggy though whatever that sauce was - was delicious. I tried the pornstar Martini and it was good but incredibly sweet. My husband enjoyed the chicken piccata dish. Overall nothing on the menu was bad - it just wasn't anything I'd write home about. Unfortunately I think they lose some points for service as well. From a frustrated bartender who wasn't helpful to our food taking over 45 mins to come out - the staff here could use some extra help and kindness. If you're in the area it's an okay option. read more

Visited with some friends for cocktails and it was nice. Z was a great bartender, he's the only one in CLT who can make a decent margarita! He also made good drink recs in general. The mango dessert was pretty good too. read more

Found this place off of yelp and we definitely recommend it! They have an expansive wine and bourbon list with many additional cocktails to chose from. We got the steak tip bowl and holy combination of flavors and textures! It hit every want and need you needed from a meal! The environment is very swanky and we had awesome service. Shout out to our waitress Jade who helped make the night seamless and had many great food recommendations! read more
Came in with a group. We were seated within a couple of minutes of arriving since we had a reservation. The service was great, a little slow but it was a busy Saturday night and our waitress had two large groups in her section. The wine list and cocktail menu offered enough variety and everyone was pleased with their drinks. The broiled oysters had a little too much bread crumb compared to the actual oyster size. Several people for the steak frites and felt like parts of it were overcooked I got the shrimp and lobster macaroni and cheese and it had too much of a lemon flavor to it so I did not enjoy it because I was expecting it to be more savory than citrusy. read more
Just like their sister location in Raleigh, STIR Charlotte was tasty and the vibe was right! The streaming music gives STIR a great ambiance, a TV in the bar was nice for game watching, the service was fast and friendly (thanks for figuring out a way to make me a hot toddy), and the bites are great. The baked oysters and crab bisque are not to be missed. The jackpot cocktail was an absolute crowd pleaser. Can't wait to return. Cheers! read more

Came here on a Friday night with some friends and we ate outside because it was a really beautiful day. It was not super crowded at all and we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was very nice and welcoming and offered some great suggestions. I ordered the halibut piccata and it came with Farro and roasted veggies and it was delicious! I also had the flower power for a drink and it was great! Everyone enjoyed their food! They have a few vegan and vegetarian options so there was something for everyone! read more
