I came across "Dom's Dive Bar" because they have great reviews on Yelp. Trust me it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Brittany! She was AWESOME! She was extremely attentive and truly went above and beyond with her outstanding service and personality. We had some questions about the menu and Carlos came to talk to us. He was also AWESOME! I can't say enough wonderful things about them both. The atmosphere is comfortable and has a very "hometown bar feel". I hate I don't live in Charlotte anymore. They would have to ban me because I would be in there so much! We ordered the duck fat pretzel bites with the queso and they were drool worthy. Not pictured we also got a flatbread as well. From Goldie's to Dom's. This is the way. Lolol! Came here after a few hours at Goldie's so we could watch Argentina (boo!) vs one of the smaller countries. I was rooting for that smaller country. In fact...the entire bar was rooting for them . Popped into Dom's the other night thanks to Offline--because without it, I honestly don't think I would've known this place even existed. It's tucked away in a strip mall off South Boulevard next to Goldie's (a spot I know well), but Dom's definitely flies under the radar. We stopped in for drinks and apps and were pleasantly surprised. Solid happy hour specials, reasonably priced food, and exactly the kind of bar food you want late at night--no frills, satisfying, and hits the spot. The drink selection was decent, and with it being the holidays, they even had some festive cocktails. The one I ordered was actually really good. We didn't stay long since this was more of a pre-dinner pit stop, but it left a good impression. Casual, affordable, and easygoing--definitely a spot I'll be back to when I'm in the mood for a low-key neighborhood bar vibe. read more

Doms is a little divish type sports bar and I have only good things to say about it. The food is excellent for "bar food". The wings are great and get the deviled eggs for sure! I love that they have free pool and darts and even board games!! Their cocktails level up for a dive bar for sure! We were looking for a divey spot to grab a drink that was also close to our AirBnB. Dom's fit the bill and it looked pretty new so we decided to check it out. Turns out they've only been open a few months. The place was busy on a friday night but we snagged a couple seats at the end of the bar. They had pool and real dart boards that stayed occupied all night and the crowd was friendly. The two bartenders were great and always quick with a fresh drink. If I lived nearby, this would definitely be a staple for me. I would say my only complaint was that the lights were too bright for a bar at this time of night. maybe dim it down after 8pm. read more

Dom's Dive Bar on South Blvd might just be the most "not-trying-too-hard" bar I've been to in a while, and honestly... that's kind of its charm. It's tucked into the same strip mall as Goldie's Live Music Bar, which means you can have dinner here, then stumble next door for a concert without ever crossing the street. Parking was a breeze at 7pm on a Sunday, which felt like winning the Charlotte lottery. Inside, Dom's is giving big-time neighborhood bar energy. You've got a pinball machine in the corner daring you to waste your beer money one quarter at a time, a pool table that looks like it's witnessed more than a few relationship-ending games of eight-ball, and darts for anyone willing to risk their life by standing within ten feet of the board. There's outdoor seating in the front for people who want to drink with a view of South Blvd traffic... a.k.a. free entertainment. My bartender for the night was Justin, who was the perfect combo of welcoming and genuinely fun to talk to. I went with my go-to order: a Diet Pepsi with grenadine. Yes, Pepsi... they don't serve Coke here, so if you're a Coke loyalist, prepare to adjust your expectations. Food-wise, I started with the Barbalo chicken wings and a side of blue cheese. The Barbalo sauce packed a little more heat than my spice-wimp self usually handles, but I powered through with the help of that dressing. The wings themselves were a perfect "not puny, not prehistoric" size and expertly coated in sauce. I would've loved them a bit crispier, but with how saucy they were, I get why they leaned more tender. The blue cheese dressing? Needs a little glow-up. I'm a sucker for a chunky blue cheese with actual crumbles, and this one was smooth all the way through. On the plus side, I asked them to skip the celery to cut down on food waste, so points for that. Then came the brisket dip, a mix of chopped brisket, cream cheese, cheddar jack, green onion, BBQ sauce, and Cajun seasoning, served with kettle chips. The brisket had great flavor, almost like sweet smoked pastrami, and the dip was loaded with green onions (so many that I had to scoop a few off). It could've been hotter, since the cheddar jack shreds on top weren't melted, but maybe that was intentional. I was expecting some heat from the Cajun seasoning, but this leaned more Thousand Island than spicy. Also, I'm 99% sure the chips aren't house-made, which is a shame because that could've taken this from "good" to "dang, I need another round." Still, the bones of a great bar snack are there. This wasn't my first rodeo at Dom's. My first visit was on the recommendation of the owner, Matt, who insisted I try their Italian sub. He was tired of the sad excuse for Italian subs around Charlotte, so he did some R&D and nailed it... solid meat-to-cheese ratio on a great hoagie roll that's lightly toasted. I like mine with a little more crunch, and Matt said you can totally request it toasted longer or not at all. That day, I upgraded from chips to a small cup of brisket chili topped with sour cream and cheese. The cup was tiny enough that mixing in the toppings felt like a game of edible Jenga, but the chili itself was hearty, flavorful, and mild. All in all, Dom's feels like the kind of place you could wander into once and then end up a regular without even trying. Between the easy parking, the friendly bartenders, the wings worth messy fingers, and the Italian sub with actual effort behind it, this spot's doing a lot right... it just has a couple things that could go from good to great with small tweaks. Going to first address the elephant in the room. This place is not a dive bar. You can't just open a bar and name it a dive bar. A dive bar is something that acquires its reputation over the years. This place is brand new, it is clean, and has a lot of nice TVs on the wall. It is not a dive bar. That being said, it is a really cool neighborhood bar, with cheap beer, darts, and pool. I came in with a buddy to watch basketball and we had a really good time. It is located next to Goldie's in a shopping center along South Boulevard, and while the space seems small, they make the most of it with a decent sized bar and seating. This is definitely the type of place I'd come in with some buddies to hang and grab some beers. read more

I didn't order any alcohol but Justin the bartender was a great. Very friendly with everybody that was there. We sat to watch the NFL games, played Uno and watch some people played pool. I have been here a few times and most times are good, there was a great bartender that was there and left, he had red hair and a bun and the other one is a strawberry blonde with a dry sense of humor, both are/were great. Tonight o went and a young lady was there, she was rude and I waited over 15 mins to be acknowledged. once I had my hand up like a middle schooler.to get attention she came over to check to see if I wanted something. It was a slow Monday (Labor Day) and no one was there. I needed a refill and had to go thru the same thing, she never checked on me where as the other bartenders have and make sure you are okay. She didn't give me a menu or anything, her attitude was rude as well. I am not sure what is going on but there is a rotation of bartenders and they aren't good. read more

More aptly a Dive-ish bar. It's got good beer specials but the cocktails (especially the bourbon ones) are fantastic. I've gotten a Jameson Espresso Martini multiple times from multiple different bartenders and it is consistently phenomenal. Food is OK, but service and drinks are great, 10/10 will go again and again. Bathrooms are clean and well lit. Overall, I felt safe even when we went late at night and the drinks/service were great. read more
