I've been during the football season and it's packed in there lots of Panthers Fans! TVs line every wall, so you're never missing a play, no matter where you sit. Ed's Tavern is a popular local spot to watch football on the weekends. Ed's is jam packed on Saturdays, so I would not expect to walk in and immediately find a spot to sit. That is my only downside to Ed's. It has a great atmosphere if you are looking for a place to get good food, drinks, and to watch some sports. Even with a packed restaurant, the service is quick and the staff is nice. They have good bar food as well. Good sports bar atmosphere, waiters can be a bit in a rush at times nothing terrible. I think they have some good wings though I was disgusted with the Cajun flavor rub. It was a weird texture and it tasted burnt, not sure what was going on but would not get again. The Nashville flavor on the other hand...AMAZING! Only going to get that flavor from here on out. We come to Ed's very often to watch games. Today it was advertised that they would have the game and when we called to confirm they told us they had the game. When we got here they said they cannot change the bar audio from the music and said the games would be on some of the TV's around the restaurant. The game is on two TV's, they are one spot away from each other, in the corner of the bar. This is pretty poor misrepresentation from management and we likely will not be back. read more

Recently went to Ed's again. Great spot to watch football on Saturdays and Sundays. Arrive early if you want a spot to sit down. People come and go between games but no one really leaves tables during the games. They have all the games on and options to watch inside or outside. Bar service is good. Table service is ok, but again, it is just a sports bar. Food is your typical bar food. Fries are always top notch. Tots were the right amount of crispy. Chicken tenders were not very good yesterday. Dry without a lot of meet. Cheesesteak egg rolls were good but the side of lettuce was a bit odd. Overall, a great spot to go to watch sports ! read more

There was plenty of seating but I'd advise getting there 30min early to grab a spot to sit if you have a big party. The music bingo was fun but took forever! They should shorten the songs because it made each round last super long. Each round was a different genre. There were two rounds, but it probably could have been 3 if the songs were shorter. Make sure your phone is charged...the game is played on it! They have tons of seating indoor and outdoor. Lots of TVs too, it would be a great place to watch panthers or cltfc games. Ed's is a casual fun hangout spot for friends. Good bar food love their quesadilla but yesterday I opted for the strawberry salad with chicken it's pretty yummy! i want to start off this review by saying the ambience is great here. if you like a classic sports bar with good music then this is your place. However, if you also like mid food and bad service, then this is DEFINITELY your place. Unfortunately, we didn't enjoy our time at Ed's Tavern. While the tavern style food was good, TVs displayed the games, and the general aesthetic; our service was lackluster. After remarkably slow service, we had a minor issue with our bill conflicting what we ordered. Our server wasn't empowered to fix it, instead disrespecting our party. Then the promised manager only sent our server back out whom we were unhappy with only to continue the experience. While slow, an otherwise pleasant but slow experience was ruined by poor personalities and management. I hope this changes for future guests or it could ruin a great local spot. read more

We came here for a happy hour yesterday since it's one of the few places in the area we haven't been. It's a pretty standard bar. They have a large variety of beer. There's a lot of local and a lot of non-local too. The food was fairly standard bar food. I tried some of the fries and zucchini fries. The regular fries were really good. The zucchini fries were kind of mushy. You get half off an appetizer if you check in on Yelp. I wasn't impressed with the service. I had to ask multiple times to get a water. A waiter or a manger was really pushy about trying to get us to get a mimosa tower (on a Thursday right after work no less). When we wouldn't get one, they asked if we were going to stay long acting like they wanted us to leave. If it weren't for the service, I would come back, but I was pretty turned off by their service. read more
