This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Food is always fresh and service is always great.

This local Mint Hill restaurant is always so packed and I never had been able to get in. Finally went out w a friend and we had a meal that was so good and the service was nice and friendly they misunderstood our order and gave us a salad we this complimentary as we didn't ask for it then charged us however they covered it when we brought it up. We ate outside and the ambience is very nice I would come back to hang with friends have drinks and watch a game anytime. read more

One of our consistent favorites in Mint Hill. We love the french dip, fish and chips and salmon salad.

Food and service are allays good, however, the chairs in the outdoor seating area are incredibly uncomfortable and confining. I'm 6'4" 225 lbs and they made me want to stand the whole time. I can't imagine someone a little larger sitting out here and trying to enjoy their meal. read more

It was okay. Unfortunately, our fries and tots were lukewarm, and my daughter's food looked like it had been sitting under the warmer too long. If the sides had been hot and her food had come out fresh, this would have been a much better experience. On the bright side, Chloe did a great job. I really enjoyed her service, and the cocktail was nice. It might help to have a food runner in the back, or have the cooks time things out better, so food doesn't sit before it reaches the table. read more

Came here for lunch with the besties and it was a great experience from the start. The place is conducive for large or small parties and can lend itself for a relaxed family lunch/dinner or date. The service was professional and attentive. We ordered the fish and chips, a black bean burger, the kids burger with cheese, the kids chicken strips, buffalo chicken tacos, the moss burger, and fried pickles as an appetizer. Everything came out fresh and hot. The flavors were full and tasty and nothing needed anything added to the original plate. Everything was cooked perfectly and we all commented on how flavorful/delicious the food was. The young man working our table, I believe his name is Camden, was very attentive and provided excellent customer service. We will be adding this as a place to frequent and I'll be trying something different on the menu each time. I've gotten suggestions from several locals in the Matthews and Mint Hill NC area to come to this place for good burgers and wings. The food is good no doubt as the burgers and wings did taste better than most sports bars I've been to. My reason for deducting 2 stars is the long wait for the food to arrive, about 40 minutes and the long wait to be seated, 20 minutes. Maybe this is the norm for a Sunday evening around 5pm? The next reason is there were many tables filled with customers - at least 20 tables and we saw only 5 Servers trying to accommodate the whole restaurant and 3 hosts standing near the front? I don't know if those numbers seems well thought out. Almost an hour wait in total for seats and to wait for food was excessive. The food itself was good and it saved the long tiring wait. But management should look into this and improve the duration of service for diners. read more

We had a friend visiting and that meant it was the perfect time to try Char Bar. So glad we did! This is easily one of the best veggie burgers I've had in my life. Crunchy outside - soft flavorful inside. The fries are delicious and the wedge salad was out of this world. We were all so happy with our meals and drinks. Service was ok. Came on a Sunday at 5pm, seated right away with a super nice server. Then it all fell apart. Our food took over 50 minutes to arrive at the table. There was cold air conditioning at the table, everyone was freezing. Food was good, not great. The fish and chips were cold. Craft burger was cooked but cold. Did not leave till around 6:45. Came here on a whim Wednesday night towards close. Our server graciously took care of us - they closed at 10pm and We got there at 9pm. I ordered the half southwest salad with extra chicken and my hubby ordered their Buffalo chicken tacos with grilled chicken and their house made chips. The food was freshly prepared and seemingly house made ingredients! My only complaint is more of a preference but the chips were thicker than a chip should be so they didn't have the chip "crunchy" texture. Portions were appropriately priced and for the first time in a long time our bill was $25 for dinner! You can't eat fast food at that price!! Probably one of my favorite spots in THE HILL! Vibe is chill, service is great, and food is pretty consistent. The steaks are AMAZING! Fav items include the filet mignon, sweet potatoes (only available for dinner), wedge salad, shrimp scampi app, and the wings hit the spot. Love the grilled chicken sandwich and shrimp tacos as lunch options too. And if you are extra hungry, try the nachos app...huge portion and sure to be very filling! Had dinner here with family, they had live music which is always a plus for me. Food was pretty tasty, I got the ribeye and my parents got the salmon. We got wings for apps, dry rub but my dad said it was way too salty for his liking. My steak was really good. Seasoned well and the shaved Brussels were extremely yummy as well. It was my bday dinner so they have me a free brownie. It came out warm but it's really rich so I couldn't eat it all but it was still very good. Waitress was very friendly as well read more

Waited and waited and waited some more, completely ignored the entire time we were there even though we tried to get the attention of multiple servers, so eventually got up and left as it seemed like they didn't care if we were there or not. Nice atmosphere, plenty of TVs, huge potential but complete fail when it comes to service, so big fat one star in our book, as the best environment in the world means nothing if you don't know how to execute the service side of the business. read more

My family goes to Char Bar at least once a week. We were thrilled when they opened back up for carry out during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am updating to a 5 star rating because their food is consistent, delicious, and fresh. I looovvveee the Char Bar 7 salad with salmon or chicken. The spicy ranch dressing is delicious. The prime rib sandwich is incredible along with their burgers. We recently tried the wings and steak and both were fabulous as well. I love going to Char Bar, however, they are experiencing staff shortages so the restaurant only fills half the seats, inside and outside! Service is slower than in the past as less waitstaff handles more tables! They offer outstanding make your own salads with plenty of options! Steaks are terrific as well as the hamburger plates! I ordered a jalapeño burger to go. The total came to 1660 I gave them a $26.75. The guy at front said - keep the change right ? First off don't insinuate that I'm gonna give you a $10.15 tip for a to go order. I then told him no I want to change back and I don't play those games. So essentially, I was hustled by an 18-year-old kid trying to give me get a more money for a tip. Way it gets worse, he goes and gets my order to go gives it to me and says have a nice night never received any of my money back again. I told him don't play me like this. The waitress comes back hands me the receipt and gives me $9.75. Somethings wrong with this horror whole ordeal because I looked at the receipt and what was put on the receipt was that I gave him $20 so I don't know if this is a scam or something they do all the time. Just a random place we chose to stop at while out and enjoying our weekend. And we were glad we did, the service was extremely friendly and fast! We had the pretzels that were really satisfying and good. The beer cheese and honey mustard with them was delicious! My wife enjoyed the shrimp poboy it's almost to big on the bun so she used her fork but she still liked it. The shrimp had good flavor. The Buffalo tacos were really delicious good flavor I added extra ranch but that's my preference. This is definitely a place we would come back to!! read more

I'm afraid that after going to this place for about 7 years, I give up. The last 3 visits have all been sorely disappointing. What used to be my "go-to" dish, the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich has now morphed into something that looks like Steak-Ums on an HT hoagie roll. Half the portion of meat, and it's dry and tasteless. My girlfriend had the quesadillas, which arrived dead cold. The cheese had not even melted inside. When the bartender asked about this, instead of taking her word for it, she put her hand over her food as if to "verify" she was telling the truth! The manager on duty seemed put out by all of this and replaced her food, which was done right the second time. The place is in serious need of an uplift. It looks run down and not so clean in many aspects, especially the bathrooms. Based on all recent visits, we decided to check this one off the list permanently. It's sad, it used to be a great place to grab a meal and a beer at the bar. We've been to "The Office" twice now at Stonecrest and that place is doing it right. My favorite is the Ribeye Steak and my husband loves the Smokehouse Burger . The bar is standard, however Paris the bartender just made me an awesome Mojito. We came in for lunch today. The parking lot is fairly big, and the place was also roomy. When we walked in, nobody was at the host stand. After a minute or two, we were finally greeted and seated outside. They did not ask our preference, which I thought was a bit odd. Our server was friendly enough. I ordered the smokehouse burger without tomato, and it came with tomato anyway. Despite that, I thought the burger was really tasty and the CB7 sauce was really good. The portion size was huge and the fries it came with were also good. I don't know if I would run back, but it would definitely be a place I'd consider if I was in the area. read more

Appreciate customer service above and beyond ! Was there tonight for a repeat visit. The food is consistently great and appreciate the diverse menu. Someone else was accidentally served my beer which he realized after taking a sip. Because of Covid I didn't want to drink after someone else so I flagged an employee down to ask for a replacement which they did as well as comping my beer because of the error.
