Sandwich de Pierna

Wow! I'm really glad I found this place. I lived in the Dominican Republic for two years, and the flavors here were such a great reminder of that time. Total blast from the past! Cady was an awesome server -- super friendly and gave great recommendations. I tried the Sandwich de Pierna, and it tasted just like the ones I used to eat in the Dominican. So good! The restaurant had a cool vibe and was very clean. I'll definitely be coming back!

In a world of breweries, Panzu stands out with its Dominican food menu. The wings were some of the best I have had, and I do not say that lightly. The jerk sauce was so good. The green tacos with chicken were filling and tasty as well. Perfect combination of creamy avocado, savory chicken, crispy cheesy tortillas, and tangy pickled veggies. Def worth the drive from CLT!

We enjoyed our time here! It's open seating, and we were approached and served very quickly! Food was delicious (the flan was super thick and tasty), drinks were great and the service was quick and friendly! It was cozy and a welcoming place, we will be back!

Great neighborhood brewery and honored to have been there on their opening day! Great selection of beers and food and overall great vibes! I love the outdoor patio I was lucky to have been there when there was a live band that night. I wish I wasn't in a good coma from dinner as I would have loved to try some of the Caribbean/Latin food that they had on the menu. Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in the area and will make sure I try the food. The service that night was fast and friendly! Make sure you check them out!

Ponzu is a perfect addition to Mint Hill! We walked in and sat down right away. There is a large patio out front and a small one about back. Inside is spacious and designed well! The bar has plenty of stools and there are tvs throughout to watch the games. The service was incredible! We loved our waitress. Ponzu has Caribbean tapas that are delicious. We got the AREPA PELUDA, PIÑA COLADA CEVICHE, TAINO FRIES (with the smoke spicy mayo yummmmm), and the MAJAO MAJAO. Everything was delicious. Ponzu isn't serving their own beer yet, but they will be in about 5 weeks. We had a great time and will definitely be back!!!

We love Panzu. The food and beer is great and the seasonal cocktails are the bomb. We love Cady: the best server! Pint of sunshine is our favorite beer and the bees knees cocktail is fantastic

Yelp recommended this brewery with a Latin flavored menu and was not disappointed. When we walked up the chef was getting the grill ready to finish off some of their ribs and knew we were in a good place. Started out with their chips and guacamole which was excellent with a large serving. Their IPA has great flavor and body that went nicely with an arrangement of fried items on one of their sampler plates. Everything we tried had very unique flavor combinations and no two dishes were alike.

Oh man, I hope Mint Hill's first brewery is here to stay FOREVER!!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! The food there is delicious, we tried the jerk chicken wings and arroz con pollo. The beer is amazing, you gotta get that pint of sunshine...FIRE! The atmosphere is light and fresh, they have both outdoor and indoor seating. A nice bar area and beer board. And best of all a 5 min drive from where we live. The service was great as well. We will be regulars for sure.

Stopped in for a beer to check it out. First, parking is limited behind the building. Inside decent sized bar but all seats were taken. Not too many tables, seemed first come first serve. We sat outside, several picnic tables but it was chilly and even though they had heaters they were not on. Bartenders were friendly enough and they had a basic selection of their own beers but most priced higher than expected. The menu is very eclectic. We didn't try any food, but it would have been hard to find something we liked since the menu was very different. May stop back again and give it another shot!

Panzu is one of my new favorite spots in Mint Hill. For an area that has mainly classic bar and grill type of spots, this Dominican/Carribean fusion is a great switch up! The arroz con pollo is served for lunch only and very tasty. Smothered in manchego cheese sauce and sprinkled with paprika, and a sliced avocado on top I can confidently say this was a 10/10. Staff is very welcoming and pretty quick as well. I l noticed they have been hosting salsa and bachata lessons and night which I will most definitely have to check out soon!

I'm not going to lie, any time a new brewery opens I tend to go in with low expectations just because there are so many around Charlotte. We waited to visit until they had a selection of their own beer and I'm glad we did. The Hefeweizen was the group favorite, the IPAs didn't blow anyone away, and I enjoyed the blonde. We went on a Thursday night and grabbed a table easily. Our server and the bartender were super nice and friendly. We ordered quite a few things off the menu and man, I was blown away by the food. Things we ordered: Canal de la Mona - hands down best thing we ate. Incredible, five stars, can't wait to eat again Arepa- very good, best arepa I've ever had? Maybe not but the chicken was good and I liked the sauce Las Mariposas- the yucca ball was my favorite. The street corn coquette had a mushy inside I didn't love and the fried cheese was just okay. Wings- plenty of them, I thought the jerk had a kick but I'm a wimp Empanadas- our friends ordered these but they looked good

Run, do not walk, to Panzu! A group of us (my Soul Sisters) went to dinner this evening to celebrate a birthday. We were lucky enough to meet one of the owners, Rosa. Really gracious, funny and warm individual. Can I just tell you? Even though we didn't get the benefit of the lunch menu (WE WILL BE BACK FOR LUNCH!) the tapas menu was amazing. We tried a variety of items on the menu. I apologize, it was such a big group that I didn't get pictures of everything. The wings are wonderful. Empanadas, Tostones, fried yucca, pork belly, guacamole and pickled veggies!? Fabulous!! I could go on and on - the sauces/dips? Soo good! My favorite is always going to be the chimichurri but ALL were great. Take a look at the menu on their website because oh my goodness I need the caramelized onion grilled cheese for lunch without a doubt. Now as far as beer? I cannot speak to that BUT: all individuals at the table, there were 11 of us total - everyone was very happy with their beverage! Seriously? food alone will have us coming back time and again. I'll repeat, the owner we met was a really wonderful individual, very genuine. Got to support local - we HIGHLY recommend the food, and establishment. Oh by the way tonight they had trivia and can I say out of 11 women - hello?! The girls rocked it, dominated lol! I'm excluding myself because I know nothing about basketball or beer lol! It was a fun and amazing time - thank you so much Panzu, for a brilliant evening. We will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!

I'm so excited that this brewery has finally opened in Mint Hill! I really like how the menu is Caribbean inspired. They haven't started serving their own beers yet but the brewing has commenced (they have a large list of guest taps in the meantime.) I recently tried some of their menu items and want to come back and try some more. I started with the Arepa Peludas which were delicious! I really liked the Aji sauce on top. I then ordered the Yuca fries which come with an option of two dipping sauces. I tried the smoked mayo and the creamy habanero. The smoked mayo was my favorite and it had a nice spicy kick to it. The creamy habanero had a sweeter taste to it. My only issue with the fries were that some of them still had pieces of the yuca root in them which was inedible - but the ones that didn't were very tasty. My only other suggestion for the business is to replace the seats on the bar stools - it's very prickly if you are wearing leggings!

I also had the rose slushie and that was good as well. It's definitely a little splash of a drink. It's tasty but tiny. I think it was around $8. It comes in the flute you see pictured. I wish it was a little more bc we all know slushies slurp down to just ice once flavor goes. Either way, the menu was more vast than we had expected. We thought it was a pure wine bar with maybe charcuterie. But we were thrilled to see otherwise. We also looked at foods that others ordered & we will be back to try that too! The servers were kind. We had multiple servers check on us throughout our time. Very prompt and attentive. That made for a pleasant experience. We sat on the patio. There was music bingo Sunday afternoons, which sounds fun. But - the DJ had the music so loud that I'm pretty sure people a block over could have participated with no trouble. I like listening to good music, but when you're literally yelling at the people next to you, it's not a great experience. 2. My pet peeve - no changing table in the men's restroom. There's room for it, and Dads should be able to bring their kids out without worrying where they'll be able to change a diaper. I don't know if there was one in the women's restroom, but any place that's open to families should have a changing table available.
