This place is now the weekly date night or "what should we do for dinner?" spot. Service is amazing and the food is just amazing.

Went for dinner on a Sunday night. They weren't super busy inside but were doing a TON of takeout orders. They have pretty big menu. I decided on the chicken picatta and my husband got the Alfredo with blackened chicken. The service was pretty quick and friendly. The food came out hot and in a reasonable time. Mine was really good and flavorful with two pounded chicken breasts and a large serving of pasta! Plenty of leftovers. My husband's Alfredo was very soupy, he mentioned it to the manager and they offered to remake it. I think they got busy in the kitchen and left something out of the sauce. We will definitely be back and try something else on the big menu! Prices are very reasonable!

Late lunch on a Sunday with my family. Came here by suggestion of my sister and we were not disappointed. I love that the menu is ecclectic enough that there's something for everyone but no so large that it's overwhelming. Our server, Kenzie, was wonderful. She was professional, helpful, prompt and super kind. She even helped us move to another table to accommodate an additional person to our party. We've already decided that when we go out to eat after church, no more searching all over, we're coming straight to Fresh Chef. Everything we had was delicious, although my sister didn't like the dressing on the kale salad. I ordered mine on the side, thought it had kick but it was good. Parking is great, location is in a plaza. Tip: if you pay cash you save a few dollars Check them out!

I ordered lunch here via Uber Eats. The food definitely was a positive distraction from a stressful work day. I ordered shrimp and grits & brussels sprouts. The food was hot upon delivery. There was a little spillage of sauce with the brussels sprouts, but it may have been caused by the driver versus the restaurant. I had some food leftover. Will definitely visit when I'm in the area.

Had a very busy weekend! I'll try to do the food justice. Today we celebrated a friend's birthday at Fresh Chef on Lawyer's Road in - I believe Matthews - on the border of Matthews and Indian Trail. Excellent food, cannot complain! Service was pretty good, of course always appreciate the Manager at that location - Frankie, she's wonderful! Frankie always takes care of us and I appreciate that so much! We had a variety of different dishes, both breakfast and lunch. The breakfast foods were good, the crab cake good, salmon? Was excellent! If you're looking for good quality home-cooked food this is a great place to be. Very happy with them. I can't speak to any other location? But I can speak to this one and Frankie always delivers!! She knew we were from St. Luke's church, a really great experience not ever had an issue!

A Mother's Day treat! We had reservations and were able to change them to an earlier time without any problem. Started with tuna appetizer, enjoyed shrimp and grits, salmon, and a shrimp salad. All the food was fresh and delicious. Service was great. Craft beers was cold. The space itself is in a strip mall, but inside clean, modern and lots of light and roomy--not crowded. I would highly recommend for Mother's Day or any day!

I have been trying to check out local spots more often in the area and this one has been on the list since it had great reviews. I guess it used to be "Steven Mills" and now combined with "Fresh Chef" restaurant. The service is good, quick, and everyone is very friendly. We tried it for breakfast and the best thing was the omelet, the veggie & California with egg whites, and they were just ok. The other items came out somewhat cold or burned (or if you want to call it extra crispy): potatoes, grits, waffle, cheddar biscuit, toast. It wasn't very fresh, so not sure if some of these items were just sitting out for a while. So overall, omelet and orange juice were ok...hence the two star rating. The food was not picturesque, so only captured the menu lol. Maybe lunch and dinner provide a different experience.

The Dim Sum is fantastic! lots of options, everything perfectly prepared and presented. Each choice as fresh, perfectly prepared, and tasted fantastic. There were 3 of us and we all ate well and had plenty of leftovers, which is always nice. And the best part was the cost of this feast. It was significantly lower than meals I have had at other Asian restaurants whose prices were much higher, food wasn't as well prepared and gave you much smaller portions. Our server, Ana, was wonderful. She even taught me how to use chopsticks properly. Loved her! The Manager, Tom, was also great! The place was very clean and had a lovely atmosphere. There was no one there to really greet me so walked over to the table where group that I was meeting was. With over 20 people in the group, the restaurant was able to accommodate nicely with service being very good with timely drink refills. For the food, it was ok, I wouldn't say that it was the best Chinese food I've ever ate. I've had better at cheaper places. For the price, the food wasn't worth what was charged. I ordered beef and vegetables which did not include rice that was charged separately. The beef slices were thin and found bone in one piece after I tasted and spit out; vegetables were tasty. Rice tasted very dry and wasn't sticky and moist. I'm glad that I tried but found the food to be very expensive especially since it was just okay. But I don't think I would visit again.

And as crowded as it was on our recent visit, The One may eventually have to seek out trendier, more spacious digs somewhere else in the Queen City. Until then, be prepared for a noisy ambiance, peak hour waits and tables that are a bit close for comfort. But the food and cocktails make it all worth it. The extensive menu of shareable plates offers something for every palate, from the tasty Fettucini with Roasted Duck Ragu and flavorful Braised Short Ribs to the amazing Oxtail Empanadas. Paired with a perfectly mixed Old Fashioned or a bottle of wine from their impressive selection, it adds up to a compelling culinary experience for anything from date night to an evening with friends. Service was excellent on our visit and prices were very reasonable for a meal of this caliber. Parking is free and super-easy, but reservations are highly recommended -- especially for weekend visits. My only gripe was the tightness of the space, which makes intimate conversation a bit challenging and the tables a bit crowded -- especially when you order a variety of plates. But if you can manage to visit on a quiet weeknight, The One will deliver a wonderful tapas meal that will have you planning a return visit before you pick up the check.
